Flashing radio rom, phone won't reboot?

I downloaded T-Mobile-UK_2.19.11_Radinly from the FTP site and tried flashing it tonight. I'm not as addicted as some of you but I've flashed my phone several times before without any problems. This time it's not working...
I ran the updater that came in the T-Mobile-UK_2.19.11_Radinly zip file and everything seemed to be going as usual. When it got to the point where the phone restarts and it is supposed to start flashing the rom, the phone shuts down but never comes back on. I need to pop out the battery in order to get the phone to come back on at all, but it works fine once I do that.
I also tried a copy of the RomUpdateUtility that I had used previously but the same thing happened. Not sure what info would be helpful in troubleshooting this but...

You may try to enter bootloader manually by pressing Camera+reset, then use the RUU.

What's the right sequence if I do it manually?
1. Hit Camera+reset to enter bootloader manually.
2. Start up RUU and go through the process on my PC.
OR
1. Start up RUU and get to the point where my phone won't restart properly.
2. Hit Camera+reset to manually bring up the bootloader.
Or something else?

The first version is the right way.

I was able to get this to work, but I found the answer in another thread. I had to take out my SD card, and then the RUU rebooted my phone as usual. Maybe I'm crazy but I don't remember ever having to do that before.
However... I tried forcing bootloader with the camera+soft reset trick and it didn't work... even if I took out the SD card. Does this mean there is something wrong with my phone?

If you're able to boot in to your OS then your bootloader is fine. If it wasn't your phone wouldn't boot at all. How are you trying to get in to the boot loader? Are you turning your phone off and pressing and holding the camera button and then using the power button to turn it on or are you using the soft reset hole? Use the power button if you weren't.
As for your phone not rebooting if you have your SD card in it, it sounds like it's time to reformat the card. Hopefully you have everything backed up off of it.

Thanks for your help... I *was* using the reset button. Now I can force the bootloader just fine.
My SD "seems" to be OK (I can see all the files and I tested a few for readability), but I'll give the format a shot for next time I flash.

p.s. When you try to format your SD card, it is recommended to use Raw disk editor (e.g. WinHex) to zero out first several bytes of the card, then repartition the card (1 partition) and format again (using FAT), then the bootloader will no longer thinks your card is a special one and toggle some strange action.

pls help. can't flash my blackstone

hopefully 1 of you guys can help.
i flashed a dutty rom on my blackstone a while ago, and everything went fine. then a month or so later, for no reason, my fone just shuts off, 5 or 6 times a day. so i decided to flash the original software to see if its a hardware prob and then hopefully get the fone replaced.
the only problem is i managed to sync my fone ONCE since i put dutty's rom on and never since then. even in boot loader the fone only ever says "serial" and never, ever usb. i've tried different leads, different pc's, and these leads and pc's will connect to my old trinity which still flashes a dream!
so i reckon there must be some connection prob in the blackstone itself. any thoughts?
i read somewhere that you can flash from the memory card. so i got a rom, and copied it to the root of the card, then started in bootloader. it flashed up a grey screen with some writing on, then straight to the bootloader screen so fast, i never got chance to read what it said. did i not get something right?
the rom is titled "BLACIMG.nbh" on the card

First off all Flashing queries should be posted in this thread.
To answer your question.......If you are only getting 'serial' at bottom of bootloader I'd recommend flashing original stock rom which came with your device first before trying to flash a cooked rom. This original stock rom can be flashed even if it states 'serial' in bootloader (note - this is the only rom this will work with). Stock roms can be found here. Once you have flashed this stock rom, use this guide to flash rom
For your info, flashing from sd card should be done as follows:
Copy BLACIMG.nbh into the root dir of your Storage Card.
Be sure to have at least 30% of charge.
Turn off your device by using the Power Button
If you use HardSPL: Go to bootloader mode. Push and hold Vol Down + press Power button. The device will display a message and offer you to flash.
If you use USPL: Remove your microSD card first to prevent starting the flash, then go into bootloader mode. When in bootloader mode insert the card and follow the instructions on the USPL page to start USPL. The device will restart into USPL and will now present you the message to flash.
As soon as presented the message, push Power button to start flashing or Volume Down button to cancel.
The whole procedure will take about 3 minutes. After you finish and see the relative message, soft reset your device, you are ready.

[BUG]Infinite Reboot

Hello.
I'm opening this thread because my Diamond seems to be diying and I wanted to know if someone got an idea.
Yesterday, my phone suddendly rebooted without warning after a month.
I thought It was nothing, but the phone started to reboot allthe time. The phone boot, show my operator logo (befor the winmo loading screen), and then reboot again, again and again.
I decided to do a little Mtty maintenance and reflash (from internal memory). The phone reworked for a couple of hours and restarted to do a reboot loop. I thought the rom I was using was in fault.
Re Mtty maintenant and flashing the phone with mu Prange stock rom. Several hours léter, the phone restarted to boot.
So where I am ?
If I let the phone off (like a night), he will launch windows and will works between a couple of minutes from a couple of hours befoor rebooting. If I put the phone in bootloader mode It won't reboot and will wait with his beautiful rainbow screen. But if I leav the bootloader mode, reboot over reboot, yay !
When the phonedecide to boot completly,it's a regular soft reset, not a hard reset.
Did anyone here have an idea ? Thanks !

How often did you flash since you have your diamond ?
Try to reflash a radio. Maybe your flash memory is dead =/

It sounds like the rom image might be corrupted - I had this problem with a 28003 rom I tried in which the phone would take a hard reset - boot fine - reset and reload fine... and then whenever you tried to restart it after that it went into a boot loop that eventually came up with a screen saying "the phone cannot boot because of uncertified software or incorrect shutdown procedure"
I solved it by putting the phone into bootloader (switch on holding both power key and volume down key) - connecting it to my computer and reflashing it. It DOES NOT need a activesync connection in this mode but you do need the Hard-SPL on the phone (im running olinex 1.40)

But I already tried to reflash the Radio and the rom Image.
I Tried 3 different Rom images.
One orange official , aztor re-evo and an another one.
But the phone don't display any errors. It will just never stop to reboot without saying a thing.

i have xPeria X1 running Hard-Spl 0.72 Olinex
i Flashed my Phone last night and i fell asleep before the update finished...i assume it did but the battery ran out on it, without me taking it out and like reset the phone ( Complete the process )
so this morning when i woke up i tried turning on my phone and it wasnt working..i charged it a little and i got the 3 color screen ..so i reflashed quickly..(didnt think about it...and )with the USB plugged in ...and it failed at like 6% something around that
Every single time i try to flash with the MicroSd
it stop after a few secs and i get some numbers (0018003) with an Error message saying Update terminate update Failed
i tried to flash it with the computer it get stuck at 6% and says it lost connection with the device.
i have a Sandisk Card...ive been flashing Here And there without problem before
its formatted Fat32 and everything i tried other Roms still failing at 6% everytime

Try to reflash the rom you was flashing in the first place.
Mayb it is locked, cause it needs a serten file from that rom.

Have you tried to hard reset it?
Fully charged it
And try to enter the bootloader to flash again?

what im thinking is that i screwed up something in the Read Only Memory of my phone..else it should allow me to flash to stock at very least...
and also i flashed back to Stock SPL and now i cant Flash it back to Hard SPL

Im trying atm...so far its been 10mins and its stucked at 0%....i cant flash anything =(
Edit... it Gave me update Error 262

are you able to enter the bootloader/tricolour screen ? if so remove sd card.
now on your PC use "X1_RUU_ROM_UpdateUtility" with any ROM image (remember to rename rom img to ruu_signed.nbh), follow steps on ROMUpdateUtility, you will be asked to connect phone (bootloader screen) on 2nd step.

In one occasion I suffered a similar problem and the issue was that the Memory Card was damaged, and when the Phone Start and tried to read this it "stuck" reading this.
Try to start the phone without the memory to see if this work.

Actually My phone only boot in bootloader mode.
Any any any utility that flashes my phones memory fails
SE update utility= failed stop at 15% and wait forever
Hardspl / Custom RUU... =failed get error 262
Microsd =get stucked OS fail update terminate update failed
so i have no OS now , stucked on Stock SPL and no clues..on what to do next
@ Above poster : i tried flashing with and without my microSD in..it still didnt work i will try a few more times when i get home tonight

I've had it.... here is the list of everything i've tried
Mtty /Task 14 0 , Task 28 55aa , task 8
Flashing SD Method
Flashing Stock Rom /Sd Method
Flashing Another Stock rom /SD method
Flashing HardSPl back and for from stock to olinex 72
Using Seus Updater
Take out battery out of the phone for 24h+ to (reset it)
Used Task 29...with no sucess...
Flashing using Cuu Firmware or whatever its called....failed
Every single time i try to flash it goes wrong ... for stock roms it stop at the OS part
Anyways Seus updater put me on spl78..but fails when it comes to the OS @(15%) Like
I just need to Fail Flash one of the Stock rom to go back to spl 0.72
my question is is there any hacked/cooked rom wich include HardSPL like the stock roms does?...that would like flash my bootloader?
Any other suggestion would be greatly appreciated...i dont wanna throw my Xperia Away..when it still can boot in bootloader...i refuse to believe X1's Bricks that easily (ONLY 1 BAD FLASH )

Energy Rom Problem

For the past few months I've been flashing separate Energy Roms onto my tilt 2. I finally found one that I liked and stuck with it for the past few weeks, which was the Dinik Glass Energy rom.
Everything was running great until last night when I was watching a video on You tube and everything froze up. I pulled the battery out and turned the phone back on and now it keeps going to the boot loader screen....
I've tried re flashing different roms to see if that would work but I've gotten nothing out of it.
If anyone could let me know of anything that i could possibly do to try and fix this I would be highly appreciative of it.

I dont know what may have caused the problem but in your situation i would have tried to do task29, flash radio and then flash a new ROM. this is normally how i flash my roms but task29 may remove somethin that may be causing the problem. if you have already done so, sorry for wasting 5 secs of your life ... let me know if it worked

Can you show me where I can dl task 29 at?

I had the same thing happen to my tilt2 last week!
Use task 29,
dont freak out when it only shows the screen that says touch pro 2.
Enter into bootloader and run ruu from there, it will fix everything.
Dont flash with sd card in or it will happen again.
I had to clear my sd card and reload it! good luck.
one more thing after task 29 do not disconnect from usb until you load next rom, that is what worked for me best.

you have nothing to loose by a hard reset at this point ... IF that works.

If I hard reset it will I have to flash a hard spl again?

Ok i noticed that yoy are pritty confused about the terminolog, so here is some help:
1. Task 29 - delets your rom of the phone so your phone become practicly unuseble.
2. HardSpl - "Unocks" (allowes) the phone for flashing custom made roms - i.e. all roms and ro preform Task 29.
3. Hard rest - reinstalls allready flashed rom.
4. Soft reset restart the phone - on/of
5. BOOTLOADER - allowes you to flash without activesync and from Sd card.
When any problem turns on with phene i usually check to see if there is any connection running. I discovered that too much internet over phone makes a phone buggy dissregarding the rom.
You dont have to hardspl phone again, once you did is enough.

Okay well here is the problem then... every time I turn the phone on it goes straight to bootloader. The only button I press to turn the phone on is the main power button. I've ran the custom RUU twice now. I've tried flashing a new rom onto the phone via sd card but it still turns on in bootloader mode. I'm nearly freaking out now because I'm led to believe I've got a bricked piece of $hit.
I hate sounding like a noob but if there is some way someone could run a step by step process to me that works I might through some $$ via pay pal.

I had the same problem with a phone about a month ago. I was able to flash the stock rom and it would boot up then put on the stock SPL and relock the phone. Sometimes I was able to take the battery out and get it to boot but even with the stock ROM I was getting the bootloader at startup. So once I reloaded the stock ROM and relocked it, I returned it and got a replacement.
Sorry, nothing I did every resolved the problem.

I agree with taking everything back to stock
flash stock rom
do a spl relock
and start over...
oh, and dont forget about radios! idk if that could be part of the problem tho

I never changed the radio's so I should be good to go then, just the stock rom?

When you returned your phone and got a replacement was your phone starting in boot loader?
If so how did the workers at the ATT store react to that so I know what to expect?

How would you recommend that I flash the stock ROM back on?
I'm kind of confused because I've always flashed with my SD card, how do I do it through my USB? Could you give me a step by step?

Well, those steps I wrote are basically "step-by-step how to flash from usb".
Allow me to clear it:
- Enter bootloader -> Hold volume down button while pushing the reset switch
- Connect USB cable to your computer. and wait until the "serial" word in the bootloader changed to "USB"
- Perform Task29, download task29 and unzip it. run ROMUpdateUtility.exe. Follow the instruction.
- Reset/reboot. well, the phone will reboot itself after task29 is completed
- If the phone enters bootloader skip this step. If not, hold volume down key while resetting (push the reset switch with stylus). The phone will enter bootloader. Connect the usb cable again to your computer (if you disconnect it.) and wait until the word "serial" changed to "usb" again.
- Flash a stock ROM. Download it from HTC website if you don't have one. Just run the exe file you downloaded and follow the wizard.
- Reboot.
I reccomend you to flash with stock ROM because Stock ROMs are "Guaranteed to work(at least by HTC )" and contains radio that may be the cause of your problem. there's no need to flash to stock SPL, yet.

I was stuck in bootloader...
You can find task 29 here. I always do this before flashing.
After task 29, make sure USB is still plugged in and enter bootloader by holding Volume Down key while hitting the reset button. You should see USB on the bottom of the bootloader screen.
Now you should be able to flash the NRG ROM by running the RUU in the same folder as your ROM (rhodium.nbh file).
If this doesn't help, search the entire forum for "stuck in bootloader." I did this and it saved me the hassle of the warranty process.

I was able to get it to boot to the ROM by removing the battery several times and reinserting, powering on until it boot. I am on TMobile and called them and they sent me a new phone and returned the old through the mail after expalining the problem. So never went into the store.
