So you want to go geotagging with 3 devices: Camera, Phone/GPS and a netbook to connect them?
Possibly you can cut out the middleman. Just have your GPS create a track, and later, when at your desk, software like http://www.vso-software.fr/products/atomgps/photo-geotagging.php can be used to match the time you took the photo with the position of your track at that time. No need to have your netbook up and running........

This is a very odd question - however, I have not been able to find an answer. I would like to use a camcorder to record while deer hunting. However, I would also like to stream this content live over the web - with my only communication to the outside world being my AT&T tilt, is there any way to possibly connect a camcorder to the phone - and then have some kind of program running in the background uploading it to a site on the web?
This is a very ODD request, I know. However, if there is a better way to do this I am open to any ideas you may have. Some of you may ask why I don't just use the phone itself to project the images....the problem is I need the zoom and night vision from the camera... Thanks for your help!
Wow... Give me a second to process this.......

OK. I think you'd probably be more able to connect the Camcorder to a Laptop and use internet sharing on your Tilt to connect the Laptop to the web.
Reasons Are,
1) I don't know if there is a way to connect your Camcorder to your Kaiser. No Firewire ports on here.
2) If you could connect it, I doubt there would be drivers for the Camcorder on Windows Mobile.
3) I'm not sure about there being a program that could turn your Camcorder into a Webcam for your Kaiser. But I bet there is one for an XP machine.
4) I don't think you'd get much battery life out of the Kaiser this way.
5) I don't think the 400Mhz Processor in the Kaiser could handle all this processing.

Thanks bro, I'm gonna get it
You could also try GpsGate for PCC and PC..
Works great for me.
Hmm... I never even realised you could do this. Saves me buying a separate BT GPS receiver for my CarPC.
One question, how do you actually set this up over Bluetooth? It just asks me to pick a BT port, but I have no idea which port to use.
it's said that autoroute 2007 works on the PC, i'll give it a go
Hi there,
I did a couple of searches but couldn't come up with anything useful to answer this question:
Is there some way to activate the Kaiser's internal GPS, convert the stream to some universal format (say, NMEA) and pass it to another computer via USB, Bluetooth or WiFi? My idea is to use the Kaiser as an external "USB mouse" like those 80-buck USB Sirfstar III units. At least for me this would open a number of interesting applications on my laptop without having to carry around another GPS device in addition to my mobile phone.
So one possible use for this would be to do live tracking on google earth, Fugawi, OziExplorer or some serious GIS.
Does anyone know if this exists? If I had more time I might try to code something, but I'm swamped at the moment
J
I know there is an app that lets you track yourself via google earth. If you search more I'm certain that was a thread about using the phone as a BT gps device.
I'm bored so I will try searching too.

OMG in less then 60 seconds I found your answer. LOL good job searching.

Hey, thanks for your help despite the sarcasm.
It makes quite a bit of a difference if you know what you're searching for. I was mainly searching for "usb passthrough gps" and variations on "gps passthrough" which clearly lead nowhere.
That software looks like exactly what I was looking for, thanks.

Bluetooth, gps, tilt
Thats all I searched for.
GPS gate allows you to use bluetooth or usb. been using it with my work laptop for navigation.
GPS2blue allows external GPS access through bluetooth and IP (wifi or GPRS).
Awesome question and software. Thanks for posting!
Someone knows if it's possible use touch pro as gps antenna for notebook pc?
I do some outroad and TP screen is to small...
Help me please!
check this: http://users.skynet.be/hofinger/GPS2Blue.html#REDIR
Worked fine for me on Raphael with latest HTC ROM. GPS signal was available then on a Samsung Notebook in Google Earth, Boat Navigation Apps....etc.
So long, -ULISSES-
Ok I have been looking for a solutions for a long time. I want to use my shiny new Dell Mini 10 with windows 7 for turn by turn directions and i want to use my at&t tilt as the GPS receiver. So, what FREE solutions do I have? Google Earth would be sweet if it had VOICE directions.. but I know the odds of finding a free solution for that is going to be slim.
also, i keep thinking that i'll need a data connection AND a way to share the gps signal?!
bluetooth isn't an option.. at least not yet. I have to buy a BT dongle some day soon. HOPEFULLY i can find a miniscule BT USB thing so it wont stick out the side of the mini too much.
So i have 2 options for connections.. i have WIFI router on the tilt or i have to use USB. but as far as i know.. if i use usb i have to then CHOOSE between internet sharing or activesync... i need to use active sync to share the gps ports but i need internet sharing to get the data connection!!?? sooooo confused..
someone PLEASE help me
thats the situation.. to review... here are the questions i need answered.
1) what software to use on the laptop?
2) what software(s) to use on the phone?
2a) gps sharing?
2b) internet sharing?
3) how to connect the two? (usb, wifi or bt)
THANKS AHEAD OF TIME to whoever responds..
and please don't BURN me because I HAVE SEARCHED.. if you know the threads i should read then please just link me and i'll be happy to read them over..
Well, you'll need something like gps2blue
http://users.skynet.be/hofinger/GPS2Blue.html
on the tilt and Hardware Virtual Serial Port from here:
http://www.hw-group.com/products/hw_vsp/index_en.html
That will make the GPS on the Tilt look like a Serial port GPS device to the netbook.
That is the easy part. I don't think you'll find a free GPS mapping product with turn-by-turn voice commands.
Actually you will
