This happens from time to time my phone is not visible the memory card!
After restart everything is ok.
Sory my English !!!
Card is possibly going bad.
I just lost my 16gb San Disk and had to replace it with a Kingston.
I can always format it and get it back, only to have it fail again within a week.
Back it up and reformat it Fat32.
Also check for clean connections and damage to the card or device.

I'm probably having the same problem - cant get to memory card, but after i take it out and insert again it works ok for some time and again disappear.
I had the same problem. I format the card, changed my roms many times, but they did not solve the problem. finally I have changed the memory card and the phone works fine with the new card

Tnx for the tip.
I will try changing the card,
it is a 8Gb card i took out of my htc kaiser loaded with useful cabs, I will try a new 4gb card and see if it makes a difference.
I also have the same problem, does changing the memosry card helped?
Yes. Apparently they get corrupt after a time and reformatting does not help.

I had a number of files on my SD card and suddenly today they are all gone.
I put in in the PC card reader and it shows blank with the full amount of free space. I formatted it again as a precaution and it seems to be working fine.
Anyone seen this happen before? what could have caused it?

Oh dear, that worries me since theres a whole thread about Alpine killing SD cards.

Need some help..i'm using 2GB sd card on my himalaya..installed some apps, mp3's, and games..i noticed that everytime that my himalaya resets, it doesn't detect the files on my sd card..tried checking it on the memory and it was able to detect my memory card but it shows that there's no more free space on it..i only used almost 1 GB of it..when i checked the folders on the sd card, it's empty..well, it could be resolved by just removing then re-attaching the sd card on my himalaya..is there an alternative way to resolve the issue? i've tried other sd cards but still the same thing..and i don't want to disconnect/reconnect the sd card coz i'm afraid that the sd card slot would get damaged.. i also tried to flash different roms on my himalaya but same thing happens..is there any settings that i need to configure?
if you have tried different Cards and different ROM's too..then its some Hardware Issue

i haven't tried 1 GB yet..is it possible that it can't keep up with the 2GB card??

well, i have tried 1 GB when my hima's rom was wm3..but the apps were installed in the phone memory so there's no problem with it..the only prob that i experienced was when i'm downloading something on my sd card thru gprs..an error something like this.. " the device attached on the unit is malfunctioning "
have u made the perfect Hard reset using the (NO, YES, YES way)?
or like i said, could be a hardware problem

yup!!! tried it a couple of times..it just happens every time my hima would reset or when downloading something via gprs..it also happened to the other hima that i have..coincidence??
wow...i've searched the forums and found out that this is a common issue..hope it could still be resolved..it really sucks pulling out / putting back in the sd card every time the issue occurs..
tried using a 2GB micro sd on my himalaya and it worked!! my hima's now able to detect the sd/files everytime it restarts.. ^_^

Hi, I have a problem with the Galaxy Ace and the micro SD, as happened twice to me this month, which alone equipment or erased SD only, today at least restart the computer and everything erase only the SD. So how fix it, it will be a problem or is something wrong SD walking in the ROM that I have installed, is the The Ultimate V3.

maybe your sd card is damaged due to swapping in ultimatum
to check insert your sd card first in pc through card reader then format it and try it in another phone other than that i think that your card might be dead

Thanks for the reply, but before I spend last night, I spent a day last week and what I did was that, format it using SD reader on your PC, but returned to the same, then last night I put one of 2GB and is working well, I'll have to buy another 8GB because apparently this already reached its limit

DO NOT INDULGE YOUR PHONE IN SWAPPING IT REALLY DAMAGES YOUR SD CARD MINE SD CARD CLASS 10 SANDISK 32 GB DIED THE SAME WAY AFTER SWAPPING SO PLEASE DO NOT DO THAT

Oh no I have not done any swapping :fingers-crossed: Just like using the Ultimate ROOM, put the option to install the APP on the SD, did not change anything else

Hey guys, there was a long time I wasn't copying anything to my SD card, and recently tried to copy few files to the card. I plugged it with USB cable throught my Z1, I could read files, but I couldn't write to SD card anything. I thought maybe something with software got damned, so I put my card into adapter and plug it into sd card reader in my PC. I was happy coz I thought my problem has just flew away, but after my files has been moved to SD card I refreshed explorer, and there wasn't any of my file, it was like I moved files to nowhere. After that I decided to format the card, plugged it into my phone went to settings and.. my phone couldn't format the card, free space hasn't changed at all, just nothing. I switched on my pc and tried it there, same thing, after starting formatting at the end I just got error message "Windows was unable to complete the format". Anyone know what is wrong? Sorry for my grammar.
I have some Sandisc card that do the same. After checking that manual write protection is off and trying to format with other tools also beside Windows default formating tool I haven't figured out how to bring SD card back to life.

Agreed. Though they have long warranty with sd cards.

I only get this message once I insert the microsd card into the tablet, I get the option not now or go to my files, and I always press not now, and it never come up again until I take out the card and re insert.
do you keep taking out the card or does the message just comes up without you removing/insert the card.

Backup all your data from sd card and format the card from settings/storage
Probably a card on its way out.

thank you guys for your quick reply. Apologize for the insufficient info. Okay, initially when I inserted the card, the tab is in off mode. Once I powered it up, I didn't get that message. I straight away go to my files and the sd card content is already there, so I thought that is normal, but after a while that message cames on. It goes off once you touch anywhere on the screen or the soft keys. This thing happened on and on. the only thing I haven't done is formatting the card. I gonna try that method afterwards. wish me luck...>_<

It is always best to go through the procedures when insert or removing the sd card, use the menu and unmounts the SD card then format, it's best not to continuous taking out the SD card, even though you can do that.
hmm.... I believe I have tried doing all the method mention before. no joy... formatting process unable to complete(using onboard programme), its only done half way before that message appear again....tried several times....still the same....can't format using PC(ahh....couldn't find my card reader)..so I've concluded that I have to change a new card...even though previously all the content inside works flawlessly. anyway....thanks all for the advices given.
I had that problem with an old microSD and my T810. Changing it with a new one (faster and best branded) solved the problem.
No more messages.

There are two more method you can try, download the Panasonic SD formatter and use that program to format the SD card, or you can format the card using a old nokia phone that runs on the old S40 OS.

I had a 16gb sandisk do this on my s2, swapped it yesterday for a newer, faster 64gb card and so far so good. I'd try a different card or buy a new one.

wow... I wanna give this method a try, looks very promising....
I can't guarantee that the SD formatter work,but it's. A very good program made by the SD association, but the Nokia one has a good chance, previously I has some dead micros, and some that will not detect, even on a PC, the nokia fixed it.
