no storage memory card.

Help me from you!
This happens from time to time my phone is not visible the memory card!
After restart everything is ok.
Sory my English !!!

Card is possibly going bad.
I just lost my 16gb San Disk and had to replace it with a Kingston.
I can always format it and get it back, only to have it fail again within a week.
Back it up and reformat it Fat32.
Also check for clean connections and damage to the card or device.

I'm probably having the same problem - cant get to memory card, but after i take it out and insert again it works ok for some time and again disappear.

I had the same problem. I format the card, changed my roms many times, but they did not solve the problem. finally I have changed the memory card and the phone works fine with the new card

Tnx for the tip.
I will try changing the card,
it is a 8Gb card i took out of my htc kaiser loaded with useful cabs, I will try a new 4gb card and see if it makes a difference.

I also have the same problem, does changing the memosry card helped?

Yes. Apparently they get corrupt after a time and reformatting does not help.

I think I damaged my Kingston SD while I was trying to format it. Now when I put it into place it keeps saying "SD card safe to remove
You can safely remove your SD card". ;( My Galaxy is running MIUI 4.3 Help me, please! What should I do ?
When I inserted my SD with to my laptop none of the files were deleted nor the card was formated.I used Panasonic SD program to format but there is the same notification showing only when I insert the card in the phone.

Insert the card, ignore any messages and reboot the phone.
Once the phone comes back up, go to Settings > Storage and see if you can Mount the external SD card.
That worked for me when I got similar messages after swapping cards.

That didn`t work out. I get the same notification.Other ideas ?
I just made hard reset ... still the same problem
btw I noticed something weird in PC/Sync Setting / Default connection type there are two options *Charge only or *Mount SD card??!!! what does this means

What partition is your sdcard after you format it? It still fat32?
Hmm... if it still maybe that is MIUI bug

hm yes it is Fat32 but other strange thing I just saw from the card reader - there is a LOST.DIR folder created with nothing inside ...what does it mean ?

The LOST.DIR directory is normal, it is where corrupted files get dumped. If the Directory is empty that is just fine.
Have you tried inserting a different MicroSD card?

I`m suppose downgrade to original firmware should do the trick === I hope so

JOB DONE pheu downgraded to 2.2.1 froyo the job went smoothly .I assume it is not a hardware fault just the MIUI is having this kind of a bug .

solved. [Q] URGENT!! SD card suddenly erased everything on its own.

My sd card just formatted itself.
Last thing i remembered is that my musics in my sd card, my phone couldnt read it. so i took it out. put it back in the phone, bam the entire sd card got erased.
is there anyway to get those things back? more importantly my photos

Try some free data recovery software. Google it, and use a card reader on your PC to help, but it does not look good.

Ive actually did that and got trolled by this program. After scanning all the files, it asked me to purchase the program in order to get the files back. I got fed up and reformatted the sd card and start from scratch.
Right now I'm facing one issue. After putting stuff back into the sd card, I unplugged it and the sd card un mounted itself. I pulled it out and plug it back in with restart and all and the phone still cant read it.
Is it the sd card problem or my phone?
Or what else should I do?

There are plenty of good free ones that dont do that, however, if you have now formatted the card all the information is lost.
Which format did you format it too? Make sure its FAT or EXT2, 3 or 4. The best bet is to format it in recovery.

I knew it would be a problem if I reformat it, but I was really fed up certain programs like those. I didn't want to waste time so I chose to reformat it.
My first attempt with FAT didn't work, and tried the others as well.
This morning I reformatted and stick it into the phone and erased every thing on the sd through the phone again. And now it seems to work fine.
Somehow the first few tries the phone reformatted the sd even when I did it through the computer already.

Yesterday, i faced a problem of "SD card blank", I cannot access into the sd card no matter i tried in my phone or connect to my pc,
however i figure out that if i go to recovery mode, i can find my sd card and the file was entirely the same before.
I wounder can anyone of you can help me to get back my photos and videos, it is memorable for me and i nearly cry.
Please help me!!

If you don't find other solution, put the card in an adaptor and just copy them to the PC.

Have you by chance deleted a folder called external SD from your memory card, coz it formats your sd card. Try recovering files from sd card through connecting it via some other usb card reader.

there are programs, that can save the photos even if you format a disk or in this case a sd card...
let me find one for you,,,, don't know if it works...read in here...

i tried to use other adapter and i find no change as i still can not found the sd card via pc.
i sure that i have not delete the file of external SD, it keep showing Blank SD on my 4x.
i am really frustrated about that...:crying:

Maybe sdcard got corrupted. Try formating the card from your phone if it gives you the option. I dont think this will be repeated.

may be your sd card has corrupted or it is fake, how long are you using it?
once i bought a fake 16gb card it worked good for few days and then the same situation as you are in. and i found no solution to recovery my files as it becomes strange, files are there but you can't use them anymore, can't delete them or copy them.
try using some partition manager after inserting your card into your pc and check if your card is there, and it's status.
if your card is fake, i have no solution,
if it's corrupted, it can be brought back to life by formatting or using other partition recovery tools i think.

i dun know whether it is fake or not, but i have used it for around half a year already.
i dun care whether it can come alive i just want to get back my data.
today i have send the sd card to a engineer, he said he fix it but it cost a large amount of money and i am not able to afford it.
and then he recover the sd card to the original situation.
it means that there must be a solution for it.

i had the same problem too. my 32GB went on and off after i dropped it from 1 meter high.
i used these two recover as much as my files as possible.

SD card troubles

Hey guys, there was a long time I wasn't copying anything to my SD card, and recently tried to copy few files to the card. I plugged it with USB cable throught my Z1, I could read files, but I couldn't write to SD card anything. I thought maybe something with software got damned, so I put my card into adapter and plug it into sd card reader in my PC. I was happy coz I thought my problem has just flew away, but after my files has been moved to SD card I refreshed explorer, and there wasn't any of my file, it was like I moved files to nowhere. After that I decided to format the card, plugged it into my phone went to settings and.. my phone couldn't format the card, free space hasn't changed at all, just nothing. I switched on my pc and tried it there, same thing, after starting formatting at the end I just got error message "Windows was unable to complete the format". Anyone know what is wrong? Sorry for my grammar.

I have some Sandisc card that do the same. After checking that manual write protection is off and trying to format with other tools also beside Windows default formating tool I haven't figured out how to bring SD card back to life.

Agreed. Though they have long warranty with sd cards.
