I dont think it is Tuma 1.3 coz it loses out on BT and Wifi Perfomance
It cannot be Tuma 1.4 coz it has a bug whil opening Photos and Videos also other problems reported(like icons listed several times, Registry issues)
It cannot be Ivan V4R3 coz it lacks the basic feature of Device Lock(Although I havent checked the OS thruly this was the first fault i came to know abt) "Lt. Gen. Ivan how can u forget such a basic feature"
:idea: Cant someone combine all 3 and make something that can beat wat the OEM's are making :idea:
I feel ashamed to use any of these roms when all my friends use their OEM's that are much better than these

Why would you need to device lock when there's already the default Lock All Except Power Button?

I dont think you understand how much work goes into creating a ROM with no support from M$. Nobody gets payed for what they do, so they must support themselfs in other ways (i.e going to work). If your that worried about a basic feature like device lock, create it/sort it and post a fix up here. This is after all what XDA-devlopers is all about. Not just leeching other peoples work and *****ing about it missing features...........

If you had actually read anything about wuther of the roms you would see that the TuMa versions are based on a ported rom from the Wizard device, hence the wizard's device lock + today screen plugin, however Ivans roms are based on a patched up leaked beta of a origional BA rom, which doesnt include the device lock function and AFAIK doesnt support it. Both ivan and I have tried including the device lock in his rom but it either fails to function or doesnt show, so no luck yet.
In regards to which rom to use may i suggest using Ivans with a 3rd party lock application (i personally use Mort's Mortsaver PE as it is a very powerful and free one, after you have spent 2 minutes configuring it)

Try playing a file in media player and putting the phone in ur pocket and u will realize why u need a device lock, and yeah by the way u cant use the power button when u r playing a file in media player or else u need to do a Soft Reset

Excuse me Sir, Just to bring it 2 ur notice, I am a manager with microsoft and i know how to work this around, perhaps i tried patching the OS with a device Lock but the OS fails to Recognize the Exe file, I m not trying to blame someone for missing out on something and i do understand that no one gets paid for it, infact i really appreciate all the efforts all the guys are putting in to help the community, My only concern was that if all the guys work together to make a rom that really has all the features that would be just great (instead it seems they are busy making their own roms by patching different versions of the OG Roms, and last....... I m not a leecher ... i m making my own rom that will consist of a lot more features than the one's listed and that too without any bug... does that sound good or change ur opinion abt me :?:

If this is the Athena version - it doesn't look good on the Diamond. Icons are 1/4 of the size they shoud be and so are thumbnails, shortcuts, etc.

actually its not bad, at least u can have a nice visible wallpaper. and its currently the best HTC Home available for VGA unfortunately, no big sized ones

i've tired the one in the Athena room and the one in the universan wm6 room but they didn't work

That's odd. it works on mine but the size is too small so pretty much unusable. I wish it's bigger too. I like the HTC home a lot better as the main screen vs the TF3D. I like TF3D too but a combo of the two would be great.

From my experience Dutty 2.1 Extreme is the best! You can fix all the bugs searching latest Dutty ROM thread.

No, I´m using Dutties Xtreme ROM V2.1 and there´s no bug - at least that cannot be solved. Give it a try, it´s much better than the old manila.

I use Davideuck_V-2_HP and therefore Dutty's HD V2.1 XTREM. There are some few things which are not perfect, but all standard(!) functions are working, the roms are stable and I will say mostly bug-free. Much better then the stock ROMs.

I'm still looking for a "bug-free" ROM with the new manila.
Davideuck_V-2 is a good ROM, but not perfect. here are some very annoying bugs :
1. Youtube app lags
2. Inside 'People Tab', in case you have a person with 2 numbers (mobile + work), try tapping the 'Work' button and you'll find out that it will call to the
mobile instead.
3. You can send files via Bluetooth, but you can't receive.
4. Can't view attachments in SMS. if someone send you a picture in SMS/MMS you can see the attachment icon but you can't view it.
If you know a ROM with the new manila without these bugs i will flash it right now.

maybe sound just silly but have you enable beam GoldCoin?i 'm running on david's v2 ans i can send and receive bt files.

There are 2 things you are talking about. You need be very clear on what you want.
Lately there are 2 knids of ROMs that are being cooked.
One With Topaz
One With Rohdium.
If you just need a ROM with the new Manila... go for the Topaz ROM.
Based on my experience... the David's V2 ROM with Topaz is almost bug free... except for the YouTube lag. Only in David's Tpoaz ROM I have seen the FaceBook integration working perfectly. Not in Dutty's...
Dutty's 2.1 is also pertty good except the FB integratio does not work.
The Bugs you have pointed out with the people tab calling only one number.. is an issue with Rohdium ROM not the Topaz one.
According to me.. The Rohdium ROM is the one with most of the BUGs... not the Topaz (David's is 99% perfect).

still all beta stuff anyway so hey, that's what we have

ROM i have ever flashed since i got my HD, and in fact this is the only cooked ROM i've used so far.
About FB integration - i don't really need this. Here are few "must" features
for me on a ROM :
No mp4/youtube playback problems - watching videos on my blackstone is one of the reasons i bought it.
ICR - the ability to record calls with no problems. worked great on Rohdium.
New manila V3 - i just love the TF3d.
GPS - using it alot and can't afford problems with this feature.
New Start Menu - just like in Rohdium.
Also i need basic phone features to work well. SMS, MMS, No white images
when a caller doesn't have an image (some says Topaz has this problem) and
so on..

If Rohdium is a must for you... (The New Start menu is only possible with Rohdium. You have to wait until some one figures out how to have these things working. I am sure Davide will fix the YouTube lag.)
Dutty's latest ROM (V2.1) is a Topaz built, No new start menu. If not everything elase works perfect.

facebook can be added to rhodium, im still looking into it and im probably bout 80% through sorting it out, to add it use m9editor find settings.xml file from the _manilla files in both topaz and rhodium and compare the differences' youll notice a section completely missing from rhodium to do with people updates, add missing lines to rhodium settings.xml and upload the changed file,(there is also a few other diffrences im looking into)
This doesnt get it 100% working but i now have the facebook options and still testing other files that may be different or missing, i just run out of time last night
The manilla settings file is 26948339_manila, if anyones intrested ill upload my changes for them
there is also some files missing/different that need to be sorted through

Its not that i know so much about it, i just spent time examining the files available to me, and worked it out anyone is capable of doing it, all the information is there,
Ive had this phone for a bit more then a month and started using the kitchens about a week ago, so as i said its not really about me knowing so much, just a matter of taking the time to work it out,
depending on what source your getting the files from you will have different experience, Heres wat i know.
26948339_manila (i think in m9editor this shows as manila.xml not settings.xml)
100% rhodium oem package (what i was working with) is missing quite a few lines of code which i metioned in my above post, you need to add those into the file and also make sure they havent been disabled.
but i had a look in some of the released roms n it seems atleast on davide's v2 rom the the info is in the file, it has just been disabled look for the <!-- at the beggining of the line remove it and also the closing --> then the line is no longer disabled
Files
Some files are missing from the oem package and also from some of the chefs roms but you can get them from the topaz oems floating around.
All this is from memory i finish work in 45 minutes then back to work on the phone so if i get time ill up the files for you and all you have to do is copy them into your windows folder

Just an early impression (played for a few hours); but so far WM6.5 and Manilla 2.5 seem to be very smooth. (alot faster then the NRG rom i tried before this one)
I also like the decision to use Opera 9* instead of 10Beta, since 9 is alot less annoying at times. (@ 10B i cannot seem to see whether i pressed a link or not)
However, why did you leave out HTC's Wifi share and the percentual battery meter?
Also, im not sure if Opera Mini is liking Jblend much, it seemed to bug the animations/screen changes after loading a few pages.
(for others, look in HKCU-Software-Jblend of the register, to make Jblend fullscreen)
That aside, i love it, great job for this lag-free Manilla 2.5 experience .

Very good Rom. I used it for the last few hours and there is no major bug to find. The only thing that Wifi on/off doesnt work over the Comm Manager but it works fine with the system settings.
Youtube fast is in High definition !!!
Yeah and my Battery is still at 100%?!

Some difference in the manila is: No doc tab and no footprints. (probably can be added in future releases)
Also, this is manila 2.5 buildt for Topaz, witch has a smaller cpu. This means that speed has been improved, and weather animations are faster by default.
If you feel some features misses from my BL (leo based) that is natural, as this is all based from the topaz

This is an english windows, but u can change the keyboard settings to your language...

already tested , Everything r BIG . and after i tested for awhile it removed all my sms itself !

Worst situation ever.
After successful completion of installing process, I reboot device and it won't go forward but stick on date and time window. I can't change the date, I am able to change time but date won't even able to click.
Did hard reset twice, after and twice before flashing the room, same odd situation, I lost all my previous data etc and now even can't install this room. Going to download any other room and gonna flash, meanwhile, if some one can give me quick advise. Thanks

this thing was happend to my first time flashed too , but after i did hard reset by using tiny hole then skip that process , it work fine. u can adjust date and time after complete flashing.

Android as primary OS?

Guys i thought i would start a thread to discuss the possibilities of creating an android rom or the possibilty replacing winmo as the primary os.
i know the current build for x1 is buggy, however the x1 is an outdate device now, i own one only as a testing device for my winmo programming. therefore i cant see why we cant have fun with it...
anyone with thoughts, or references welcome. i have a bit of free time coming up so im looking to jump on the x1 - android bandwagon!

I think more important for now is create krenel that contains all hardware configuration (working WiFi, BT, Camera, GPS, turn off LCD, fast working etc. ) if it will be fulfilled it is possible to think about create android rom

You're absolutely right. But ... who would flash his phone with a rom, which can't use the speaker for ringtones and which drains the battery.
I agree with vdelf - as soon as we see a working kernel worth for daily use, we might look into the issue of flashing android rom.

Bluetooth, GPS and Camera still not working for many htc devices. However, sound, ringtone is of highest requests for X1

I am with _Sensible on this one (not the "outdated"-part ). Android is not ready for primary OS on the X1, but it is not that far away. Why not start to create a rom? IMHO that will take some time, too. And that way we do not have to wait for a rom when the kernel is ready

If speaker and screen issues will solve then may try to cook android rom

but then again I do have two xperia's so it wont matter if one isn't working properly.

thanks for all your thoughts guys. i realise a flashable rom isnt a priority but i was thinking along the lines of vdelf. if we start this development now it may tie in nicely with a functional kernel.

same here - im sick of winmo glitches and problems,been reading alot about this project and i hope that all the x1 hardware works on it.

I'm looking forward for rom too. But not because of WM glitches, but because android will extend life of xperia. WM6.5 is dying os. Most software from actual companies is either for Android or iPhone (and probably for WP7S soon), apps for WM6.5.x and older are becoming rare.
I would really like to see actual rom, but i think you should put priorities on power managemnet, brigthness and sound. I can live with haret until then

Im not sure but the key combo to trigger it is set in kernel and need a recovery image, if thats what you are looking for...

Cant the android os be cooked into a nbh, so an existing flasher or microsd method can be used?

Yes, a ROM can be cooked and I don't see why the RUU utility couldnt be used either

Ive been looking into this, I reckon the best way to do is to jump on the back of the 'tinboot' bootlader developed on this forum. So far Its only been ported to the Kaiser....however with a bit of R&D it shouldnt be too hard to port to kovsky.

Well, you know, it 'kinda' works. I've even made a video. But we need to fix panel initialisation (or it's more likely that i've simply messed something up). You can watch. After hanging on the SE logo, it makes two vibrations and the screen covers with strange pattern which means the kernel does start. Maybe i'll work on it later.
