How can I make 3 way or conference calls from my hero. Look at this...
Call 1 ( I make the call ) + Call 2 ( I make the call ) = I can make 3-way or conference.
Call 1 ( I make the call ) + Call 2 ( Incoming ) = Cant make conference
Call 1 ( Incoming ) + Call 2 ( Incoming ) = Cant make conference
Why is it this way in hero. In iPhone and some other phones that I have used can connect any calls anytime. Is there a solution to this that I don't know?
Here is another case.
I make one call, I get a call waiting I switch in between calls. I cant end one of them they have to hang up. When one of them hangs up and someone else calls while you are on the other line and you pick up that call not you dont know which line is active.
BUMP... can anyone answer this for me plz
On a CDMA network, only the initial call originator can direct another call into that line..
You had that functionality with ATT because of it being GSM.. Not really anything you can do to change this...
Great way for making 3 way........get a bunch of really horny people together and make them VERY drunk. BAM insta 3 way in a can!

As someone over the otherside of the pond what benefits does CDMA actually bring you?
All I can see is limitation after limitation.

Not much other than better coverage. GSM doesn't fair well outside major cities.
I'm really not that worried as CDMA is on the decline and its successor is going to be introduced in the next few years. Will take some time to totally kill off CDMA, but we'll get there.

You can hang up on either party. The other party will remain on HOLD and your phone will ring. When you answer you're reconnected to the party that was on HOLD.

On my Hero, when the 3rd call comes in and you answer, a screen pops up showing that the 3rd call is active, and the 1st call is on HOLD.

When you say "CDMA", do you mean in the context of a CDMA Hero, or CDMA as a radio technology as opposed to say the 2G / 3G radio interfaces used by GSM?
From a radio technology perspective, CDMA provides more efficient use of a given frequency band then say the TDM technology used by GSM for 2G services. And which is why GSM uses CDMA technology for it's UMTS 3G radio interface, aka Wideband CDMA.
Now you owe ME a beer ...
Mmmmmm… Cheese!
I have this same problem. Whenever I have an incoming call and I want to hang up on the other caller its ends both calls, not just the one call I want to end. It is very annoying and I have found no fix for this

Picture this:
Your sitting at work and someone is calling you.
Your work will fire you if you talk on your cell phone.
However, your work doesn't care if you talk on their corporate phones.
Cell Phone have a built in call forwarding feature.
What I would like to see is a an application that will run when there is an incoming call. I want it to pop up and give me the option to forward the call to my work phone number.
It would be nice to configure it to have multiple forwarding options.
For example:
If your sitting at home and you have poor reception, you want to take the call but you don't want to deal with the poor call quality, so you forward it to your home landline telephone..
If someone has seen and application like this:
Or feels like developing an application, it would be much appreciated.
Another option would be cool if worked with S2U2.
Thanks.
This would be awesome, is it doable? Since call forwarding is a net based service it probably don't work to use the net service. But if you make the app to handle it as a phone conference where you call up a third party, that should be possible?! DEVELOPERS, GET ON IT!
Can't you just input your work phone number as a call forwarding number in settings to call after not picking up after 4 or 5 rings. then when you get a call you get the option to ignore the call and then it will be forwarded to your work number automatically.
Or do only operators in the netherlands give you this option??
You can't forward call when there is an incoming call in progres, that can do only operator.
There is network service and network must have this information, so only u can use build in feature to forward, and as robstgter said u can use that after a specific time the call will be forwarded.

There is what you call, Forward on Busy, so when you hangup it just forward it to your number.
Are there any developers interested in working on this application/Function?

Well the problem is sometimes I would like to just ignore the call and send to voice mail.
Other times I would want to take the call, but I just want to hit foward to my work or home phone.
So I can talk on that line rather than my cell phone.
I wouldn't want it to always forward because I'm not always at work to answer the phone.
However, maybe there could be a easy way of completing this task by making an easy way to turn call forwarding off and on. The next thing to consider is the SMS (is it affected in a call forwarding environment or no?)

Yes and no.
I believe it takes just a second or 2 to update the call forwarding on your cell phone, through the settings, at least it use to be this way
SO: If the application ran, (pressing a button to forward) would just change the forward settings for you than after the 5 rings is up it forwards to the number desired.
I'm almost positive that the forwarding can happen after it rings because of this scenario:
You call someone, it rings 5-9 times then goes to voice mail. Well that voice mail is actually connected through a different phone number. Just like when you access your voicemail (for Californians) it dials a (909) 213-xxx number.. (which is nothing close to your cell phone number)

I have a sprint touch pro, and i want to kno how to connect an incoming call to the other line. Im alerayd in one call, somone else calls me i pick it up, but then i want to connect the 2 lines. get it? does anyone kno how to do this? Ive alreayd searched the forums, and i already know how to make a conference call the by ME callin both, but thats a hassle sometimes
as with any GSM and later mobile phone you answer your second call (this will auto put the first call on hold)then dial the number 3 and then press the call button again, this will conference (3 way) the calls.
When you answer the second call, the first one becomes on hold, just go to the menu and hit "Conference"

yes, but that doesn't have nothing to do with your phone. It's a provider's (vendor/operator) service. And only some of them support it
Actually @t_assal is correct, he meant if I call a guy who is calling someone else and this guy is activated the call waiting function, I have to get a message "waiting" and then you decide to continue disturbing him or to hang up.
Also @papo is correct that his is an operator thing.
But the problem that the operator send me back this waiting signal, and neither my iPhone nor my Nexus one shows this message, but my 10 years old Nokia show it. the same sim card used in the three phones for this test.
Which means the waiting signal which sent by the operator "maybe only Mr. t_assal's and mine" is not recognized by neither iPhone nor nexus1 (also winmo)
We need a solution

we need to make clear about this. Just to make post short and spare my brain waves, I supposed (wrongly?) he messed it up and is referring to sms which called party get after finish his call.
That's the service I've wrote about.
It's handy if you are off, turn phone on and receive message from Bob, but it's automated and saying he tried to call and you can hit call back btn. In some countries/operators it's common.
Why would I want a message saying Bill is busy on call, 5 secs after I hear beep beep from the line? But yes that would be phone function and it's possible to handle. It's a network message, nokia is showing them by default (and can't be turned off!!!! :-S )
Make an application showing message such as this is possible and there could be one. Just what the purpose?
Though there is one useful info there. After active call ends, phone will receive network message containing code, which describes reason of ended call: red button by called, caller, lost reception (out of coverage or battery), network error, network busy
If you often make people angry over line and they hang on you, with this cell code you can have an monthly statistic of upset people or whatever you want. aah just cant see any reason to have this eather
run windows\fieldtest.exe and check it there, that's good enough.
sorry to hear ppl who thinks they know it all and says bull****..
The fact is clear, whe u call some one who has HIS call waiting service active UR phone MUST indicate U the other person call status. that's what call waiting means. usually "call on waiting.." or something, but STILL ringing and the othrer person hears some indicator beep or someting , and HE desides to take the call or not.
the bug is Iphone 3gs, 4g (and nexus aparently) don't show this message "call waiting" like ALL other phones, in my case, OMNIA II, nokia, (with the same SIM card) shows the msg.
please don't coment if u dont know and PLEASE lowercase and regular font. NOOBS.

Who's the noob? You double posted and no this isn't a fact, I've never had a phone tell me when someone is on a call. There are some carriers that have a tone at the end of the ring to let you know they are on another call..
I think you are confusing your words, your phone should alert you (the person getting the call) that someone is calling you while on another line, it's not the other way..
Provide some info stating other wise that isn't half ass typed like the **** you are posting.
Yes it's true I had this problem since i started using PDA phones only (HTC Mda compact, then HTC Tytn 2 and the HTC HD2), I think problem only exists when using PDA phones because ''call waiting'' function is working on my all other symbian phones like (Samsung, Nokia, .... with symbian)
It might be with Windows mobile phones not sure, but don't know if there is any fixing for this specially for HTC HD2 ..
thanks
I've never experienced a ghost call, when I was on stock, and when I switched to V18 baseband.
But now I'm on V20c rogers baseband and 100% of the time I get ghost calls. I used my house phone to call my phone 3 times in a row and none of them made it though. It only works if I'm already on the phone with someone and it beeps in the background.
I'm not sure if it's the rom I'm using, or the baseband.
I'm using ThiaiZO3D 2.7 with V20C, I'm going to try Biohazard 2.9 now, if it makes no difference I'll flash the official AT&T gingerbread baseband.
edit: I found that when I have it on "only use 2G networks" is when I get ghost calls... what the hell??

Yup, unfortunately nothing will explain why you have ghost calls, some people have them, others don't, nobody seems to have any idea why. They've all tried 50 different superstition methods to get rid of them, some seem to think they have. I thought I had but my dad just walked in to my office to pick me up for lunch and asked why I wasn't answering my phone. I'm very suspicious of my phone going into GC mode and in the 10 minutes he claimed to be trying to call and text me I received 1 text from another person and called myself from my office phone just to make sure I had service as I knew he was on his way to meet me for lunch. Hence the reason they're called ghost calls, they are a ****in mystery that apparently even LG has no idea how to fix.
BTW, I'm unrooted in the US on ATT's network using ATT's official GB. I've experienced far less GC's than when I was on Rogers GB as well as that straight LG one that was released in India a month or 2 ago.
Hmm. SO! I had the craziest idea.
What if the ghost call issue was because of the actual Phone.apk?
lol that's a possibility.. but that wouldn't explain what I was experiencing when I'd switch from 2G and HSPA and each time it would work or not work.
When I was calling my phone from the house phone the dial tones do sound different when it's a ghost call, not sure how to explain it. It's as if right before each dial tone you hear a "cut off" noise, kind of like a click.
My girlfriend's Motorola RAZR from years ago used to do that when I'd call her. If I heard this click I'd know the call didn't even make it through, so I'd continue to call till I hear a "clean" dial tone.

I had that kind of thought as well, a lot of people are saying baseband, I wondering if maybe not the baseband by another common package on all GB roms.
I going to give a try with the P970 baseband which is 2.6 to see if this helps.
But keeping on topic all GB roms custom or not seem to have this issue, I haven't seen the P920 RIP problems on P925
Hi I was wondering if there is a way to get Visual Voicemail working on the Nexus 6 running android 6.0 on Straight Talk Verizon. I am not very keen on using youmail or google voice as work around because it ties up my call forwarding if I want to use it. Id rather have a fix for the app. Plus allot of the third parties charge for even partial voice to text on the messages. Thanks a bunch.

Its got to be something stupid. Some phones are working on Straight talk Verizon. Who has gotten this working on the Nexus 6 and what is the fix to the apk or OS so the stupid thing loads. Riht now all I get is an uption to use normal voicmail or upgrade to visual voicemail ten it goes to a useless call verizon page. I suspect it could be fixed with some sort of side load.
