Okay so first of all, let me just say, I have no idea when it comes to creating a theme for any platform, so nothing I post up here will never be created because I just don't 1, have the time to learn how-to and 2, I don't want to learn how to, excuse my ignorance.
However, I do know my way around photoshop, so with a spare hour at work today, I started to create this.
By all means, if someone with the knowledge wants to take a shot at converting this, go for it, just let me know before you do .
*Few more icons added!
*What the homescreen could/might look like.
It's very simple and eye attractive, looks good. i can't do anything though, same as you in that department.
Clearly this isn't going to go anywhere, worth a try though.
Sadly, I do not have any practical experience in this subject, but this topic does have a tutorial on what you need to do http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=8504851&postcount=2(the topic currently says that the tutorial is 'temporarily down..' so just keep checking it, I would assume he is modifying the tutorial to make it work with gingerbread roms) To create the battery and the white app slider background, you would need to modify the Framework.res.apk
I think this theme looks great, although I do not know the limitations of themeing in sense 2.1 roms; so may need to ask an experienced themer on which method to take, flashable.zip or Skin Chooser theme.. My best advice is to ask the guy who made the thread I linked to you, as he has converted many themes, if he has the time; and you can supply the images, you'll have a working theme in no time
I already cooked the frameword-res.apk last night, it looks odd because the kitchen doesn't theme the recent apps section so that has got the carbon black look that Sense has, I think the theme would be really nice and clean, and could be done in a variety of colours to treat each persons needs. Simple and effective!
If anyone would like the cooked framework let me know, like I said, it's far from done. We'll call it Version 0.0.0.1
Looks really nice, clean and minimal
Would like to se it finished and in some darker color - greyish
That's what I was just saying, in a variety of colours so each user could choose their own from a selection. Like I said, I'd happily finish creating this but only if it's going to go somewhere.

LOL writing while you posting
Maybe you could pm he_stheone64 about help to do this, he knows his way around theming with the new gingerbread framework. As I understand a few things has changed from the old 2.1 to the new 2.3 release.
Hope this will succeed for you
I don't WANT to approach anyone, if someone has some spare time on their hands and wants something to do, I'm sure someone will say they would like to convert this for us. All I want to know is whether or not I should finish the PSD's, VOYE VOTE VOTE

Hence the 'Inspired' in the title
I am willing to pay $50 to anyone who can develop a theme porting program for windows that is catered to the thunderbolt. I know there is the program called theme Porter and theme porter .3 which is usueful but I am looking for something that is more specific to the thunderbolt so that I may port a evo, desire hd, and another other hd plateform based theme to the thunderbolt with ease and accuracy. There may be something that is out there that is similar to what I am looking for but I haven't found it and trust me I have searched and searched but I am empty handed. Droid x has a porting program called "wug" which is nice but it is only for the droid x. Anyways I am willing to pay the money since I love themeing my phone and it is extremely time consuming to create one from scratch, and there aren't enough themes catered to one specific device. Hope someone has sonething !
HTC Thunderbolt
s-off rooted
VirusROM RC1B2
It would be pointless to write up another program when theme porter does anything another porter will anyways.

I think someone out there could come up with something a little better, with some more options. wug is a good example of this. Anyways theme porter is a great script but its old and I am sure someone could come up with something. Dont get me wrong theme porter is nice and the dev who made it deserves alot of credit for his or her work
What does Wug do that theme porter doesnt? All wug is, is a bloated theme porter. They both do the exact same thing.

Yes i see that now. One thing is that it is much more user friendly, you dont have to use a seperate script to make update.zip as well as some other nice features. Anyways again I am sure someone out there could come up with something, I am guessing it wont be you but if anyone does I am willing to pay.
Would there be anyone willing to do a different kind of guide for those wanting to learn to theme or even rom.
If someone would .... as there creating a theme, document the whole process, and as someone trying to learn, could download the files needed and instead of just downloading an already completed theme, they could build the same theme themselves while following the directions. I think that could be a great way for someone to learn this craft. I imagine once you have built one, things start to make more sense.
I have read a few of the themeing guides, and they are great, lots of great info, but a lot of times they dont explain the how/why things are done. Like when can you just edit the .png files to gain a certain look, vs. when you have to go and edit xml files, or which files need to be edited to create a lot of the looks we are looking for.
For me, i learn best by doing. I would love to d/l the same base rom one of you devs. would and follow some instructions and just follow along and perform all of the modifications you might make to create a theme from start to finish. Then a lot of other things might make more sense.
Just a thought if anyone has the time or would be interested, I am sure many people would like to learn this talent.
Thanks.

http://www.reddit.com/r/Universityo...erested_in_learning_android_programming_over/
Reddit is holding a android programming tutorial/class, go check it out
Looking at that now, looks very cool. Seems to be focused more on android programming though, will be looking for some theme/rom tutorials, or maybe ask for one.
Thanks for the link!

yea it def is focused on programming. But reddit seems like a good place to find our request something your more interested in.
Im new to theming, and want to know the easiest, and best app/ thing to theme.
A bit vague but photoshop?
We're a bunch of people who want to create a completely new UI and graphics for android.
The problem is that we do have the designs but what we dont have is the technical knowledge about it.
I'd really appreciate if i could get some advice on what exactly is it that we're supposed to do?like develop a custom rom or something?

I think that theme is way to go for you - search here on XDA how to create themes for Theme Chooser.
If you don't have any technical knowledge about theming or how Android UI works, good start is creating some mockups in Photoshop to present your ideas, then share it with community - if they will be good, probably someone will help you with creating fully working theme.
