great which tools were used?

Hello,
this job is very nice, thank you a lot!
First problem i found, Error message "Die Adresse ist ungültig. Überprüfen Sie die Adresse, und versuchen Sie es erneut." in Internet Explorer. Not able to load any page.

Sounds like that missing ... connects to the Internet after changing from My ISP to My Network option. Ask the search buttons at the top of the page. It's all in here, I'm sure.
Opera Mini rocks! Much faster, and it's small .cab.

I changed to My Network. But the connection is not the problem. To go online by ICQ or Windows Live is no problem.
Still the same problem in Internet-Explorer. I'll try Opera.

Opera Mini rocks! Yes muckelmaus, it is the truth! No problems at all!

Ok, as all data is speeded up at the servers of Sun Corp. it could be logged, but I never do my important work via handy.
So - who cares. Everything, that is important, is that huge speed on getting internet data!!!

Cube alternatives

Can some of u guys post here all the different types of cube alternatives that works for BA?
google for touch commander or mobile shell 2.0
greetings from germany
ok thnks!!
thnks! I'll giv it a try.
Wie Geht Es Ihnen?
es geht mir sehr gut.
freut mich, dass ich helfen konnte
I must put in a good word for Ultimate Launch. It must be the most configurable today plugin I have ever seen. One of it's options is to create multiple tabs, or pages and when you slide your finger left-right or right-left you rotate a cube. Search the Development and Hacking thread for "tabbed today plugin" and you will see a lot of information for it.
YES! Ultiamte launch is way better than cube and much smaller than Mobile shell....
Tocuh commander
I tried touch commander and it works thnks to wmvfan. must try ultimate launch soon. thnks for all ur replies!!
I like touch commander very much but the thing is when i use my own .png icons the background turns white. do u know any skins ffor touch commander?

Sorting Order of TF3D toolbar

Hi,
I'm using 1.37 German non-branded (genuine HTC) and I would like to re-order the toolbar in order to ease acessibility according to my favorite useage. The HKLM ... HTCHome is nonexistant in 1.37. Any new ideas?
Furthermore, the LEAST thing I'm interested in is YouTube. Any idea how to get rid of the entry in browser favorites? Regular favorites seem to start BEHIND the youtube link.
Thanks
Susan
I'm afraid I'm the only one having the problem? No one else?

6.5 and panels/original content..?

Hi everyone, is there a way I can install a 6.5 ROM into my Xperia and sill have my panels working?
Would stuff like the media manager still work?
You should use Itje's ROM, the panels are working fine http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=489469
if you are making your own rom you just need to include the panel manager and you have panels. you may have to download the media panel seperatley. but its doable
Well i dont know how to make my own rom im a totall n00b =P i just get intimidated by what all of you can do, so i dont even dare to try hahah, but thanks for your help!!
I'll try to put one together for you if your willing to test it....p.m. me

Panels are not enough, you need to add all the SONY OEM operator package and SONY customizations to get a REAL Xperia, and get rid of the Rhodium/Topaz/Maila/TouchFlo 3D shizzz
Whatsmore, you need to build a stable WM6.5 platform (SYS/XIP port), ironing out all of the known M$ WM6.5 bugs (remember: it's a prototype ROM) not that easy
If somebody is interested, I have a full working port (R3A over WM6.5) with zero Manila shizzz for my personal use. I've been using it for a couple of weeks so far.
Just plain and PURE XPERIA OEM full software packages over WM6.5
WM6.5 is beautiful without all of the Manila masks. I can send you a copy - or a contents description - if you wanna give it a try, but as I stated before it is meant to be personal, not public
What, you have a "clean" Xperia 6.5?
If you have let's say a R3A ROM with WM 21501, I'm extremely interested. I use the TouchIT ROM, but is has some non Xperia stuff in it...
Or you wait a little bit and try my 6.5 Extravagant Medium Panel Edition
Rom is cooked already but i have to test and fix all the bugs
Haja, wieso denn net, des wär doch was
Why not, I'm a Xperia Panel fan and I'm not that freaked in TF3D stuff...

This new version is not based on the german emulator files which were floating around lately. Instead, this ROM is running with the latest 23001 files released by Da_G. It is a real 23001 ROM, not a hybrid.
As for now, there are two versions. One with Panels and Manila (full version), one without Panels and Manila (light version).
Note: I did edit Titanium to display the next appointment without changing to the layer. However, this results in not displaying anything (empty line), when there is no appointment.
I was running 21815 for the past 2 of weeks with the exact same OEM configuration and didn't encounter any bugs. So hopefully there shouldn't be any in this version either.
What you get:
- No Manila (in light version)
- No Panels (in light version)
- Programs:
-- Advanced Config
-- Advanced Taskmanager
-- Registry Editor
-- YouTube (bug - not working. try that one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=508984&highlight=youtube)
-- Opera
-- Quick GPS
-- Blackstone FM Radio
-- Blackstone MP3 Trimmer
-- Blackstone JetCet Print
-- Blackstone Audiobooster
-- Topaz Comm Manager
-- nullkeyboard
-- Microsoft Marketplace
-- Microsoft My Phone
-- Microsoft Office
-- hTorch
-- ZIP
-- Google Maps
-- cHome editor
-- Titanium Home
- Misc:
-- UC Support
-- PagePool 20MB + some system tweaks
-- Titanium appointment tweak
-- HTC large titlebar

nice work but waiting for manila
nice, small and fast rom. The only thing that i don't like is the camera application without auto-flash and without zoom on 3 mp mode.
Is there a cab file for installing the R3A camera with GEO tag and auto-flash?
Thx

SMS issue solved. Fixed ROM up soon ...
Chalid, nut the cabs are fix in rom. Better is no cabs and upload in the rom.
This where a perfect clean rom from you. Many thanks for your work.
nice! can't wait to try it
Manila version will have to wait. there is a problem with the people-tab, which I don't have the time to figure out at the moment.
Light version uploading now. SMS issue is fixed.

You're right. Didn't try that out since it was working with the last build and I'm using the official YouTube client, not this one. You can get the official player here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=508984&highlight=youtube
It's lighter and in general much faster.
Extremely fast ROM
Perhaps a dumb question - is it R3A-based - because in device information it says R1A?

Well, good question ... I honestly can't answer that ^_^ I copied the OEM parts from R1A, R2A and R3A since every version for itself didn't bring a satisfying outcome. However, I really don't remember which parts are R1A/R2A/R3A ... I think it doesn't really matter anyway as long as everything works fine and fast ...

Well, the applications included in the ROM are quite small. I'm sure there aren't any speed problems because of the programs. If anybody don't want the apps, he should just uninstall them. I include Advanced Taskmanager or AdvancedConfig simple because I think they are must-have-apps for WM ...

Beginners tips and help

Hi,
sorry if this has been asked before.
My MDA compact V (td2) should be coming tomorrow, and it is the first winmo that i will have. I havent got a clue what to expect, cuz videos and pictures only tell you so much about a mobile OS.
So im just basically asking for any help/tips/advice on what i should do with it to begin with. like what software should i install, what screen protector, how to charge the battery etc.
Ive heard that you need to charge a battery right the first time you get a phone, otherwise it will never be the same? any advice on this?
Any help, not just about the above, would be appreciated.
thanks
I'd like to have some tips aswell ! =)
I've got a Compact V after years of having SE and Nokia handsets.
Id say the only difference is the way the phone settings work. You can change some settings with TF3D, but for more advanced settings, you have to use the WM interface which is similar to Control Panel in windows.
You will get a screen protector in the box along with a a pLeather case, you MUST get the screen protector right the first time. Its quite rigid so can handle being applied and taken off, but the moment you get a fingerprint or speck of dust on it, its over. You just get horrendous huge bubbles underneath and you end up taking it off. Just wash your hands before you peel it off its backing and try and get it right the first time.
I'd say have a look at the wiki here -
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Topaz
This was my first winmo phone too, I'd say they are fairly user friendly and easy to get to grips with. Just have a good play around with it and you'll likely get a feel for it fairly quickly.
Once you get to know it a bit, you may want to customise it - well, you will want to! Max TF3D Theme Maker is great for this. There's a wealth of apps and games out there too, but this site is my main source for any add-ons I want or general info.
Cheers
Chris
Thank you for the advice, its appreciated.
I cant get my phone till monday now cuz the guy came while i was out, so i missed the delivery .
But i will definitely try out everything that has been suggested, first thing i will do is wash my hands, and get the screen protector right, cuz i know that will annoy me no end if i get that wrong and then after about a day or two, im positive i will be customising the phone like crazy to see what can be done.
Thanks again for the advice.
The only thing I miss about having an S60 phone was the Nokia PC Suite. Everything you ever needed was in one package. (Phonebook editing/send texts/transfer files/backup/restore your contents/internet sharing/convert music/Sync files and media/update firmware/install apps)
With WM you have to use ActiveSync which only handles a tiny portion of the above, the rest there is software available to download, but it was more convenient to have it all there in one place.
The Compact V ROM is good, but it obviously geared towards directing you towards their pay services like Mobile TV and Jukebox meaning you get a couple of useless extra tabs in the TF3D but you can remove these if you want. You also might have some issues installing some of the tweaks and apps from xda-dev as they were all designed for the HTC ROM. Stuff like the facebook fix doesnt work.
The main downside to the compact v rom is you do not get the youtube app. You can view youtube by using the m.youtube.com like from the tmobile homepage, but the quality is horrendous. It uses the inbuilt Streaming Media Player and the video is in 3gp format meaning it looks like its been taped off a 1.3mp cameraphone and the sound is awful.
I ended up downloading HardSPL which in effect unlocks your phone meaning you can put any ROM on there, and then downloaded the official HTC ROM that ships with the D2 and flashed that to the handset.
I now have the official youtube client and the video and sound quality is flawless
Here's some of the software I installed :
Core player - video playback that supports any format
Max TF3D Theme Maker - customise user interface
Sporty Pal - GPS tracking software
e-Natives Showcase - task manager
Nitrogen - music playback
Pocketscreen - screen capture program
Resco Explorer - file manager/explorer
Total Commander - same as above (can't remember how I ended up with both, I don't actually use Total Commander all that much)
Soft reset / shutdown app from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=535121&highlight=soft+reset
Pocket Uno - great game
There's other stuff, too, that comes with the ROM (stock or otherwise) - google maps, that king of stuff.
The GPS tracking facility is great, I use that a lot. I had a BlackBerry that had this functionality, but there's so much software available for winmo platform, it rocks. And a shed load of free stuff, too.
If you are new to WinMo I always tell people to treat it like Windows (if you use that on your PC), they are essentaillly identical - and just as frustrating to use.
I use WinMo myself so I'm not bashing it it is just a mindset.
Remember to soft reset whenever things go flaky - and they will.
Then you can start troubleshooting - unfortunate but that's the way it is.
Cheers
i recommend the following apps.
CorePlayer (video playback)
Nitrogen (audio playback)
Facebook
Beejive (msn etc)
WiFi Monster (wifi manager)
Advanced Configuration Tool 3.3 (extended config for the topaz)
NoData (toggles data connections so you don't accidentally run up a huge bill)
PocketRAR (winrar for topaz)
Signal (control winamp from your phone, really great app, responsive and easy to use)
Resco Explorer (file manager)
oh btw. you dont need to be so careful with screen protector. if you get it dirty just wash it with soap. you can aply it best while its little wet. if you see any white spots under screen thats water and will dry in a day or two.
I hate to say this but I would read through this forum and learn to use the search. When I started I hated that advice but it really is worth doing. There's a response to almost any question here and given the Topaz room is reasonalbly small compared to say the Diamond one, there's a far bigger chance you'll find what you are looking for quickly.
I've only been here for a few months and have learnt everything from this forum. Searching means you'll stumble upon other posts containing information you can apply too (eg Opera updates, theme's add-ons etc). I also cook my own ROMs now, something I didn't think would be possible when I first started.
You did ask for a tip

I just needed a few beginning tips cuz i wanted to be prepared quickly before my phone arrived. Now it has, in a few days il start searching properly and learning more on my own, but couldnt have done it without the advice given so far in this thread.
Thanks to everyone else who has posted aswell, the advice is well appreciated.

Just wondering, did you get your htc rom from their website or did you use one of the stock roms from this website. As some of the ones on this site say they're from asia, and the rest say unknown, so dont know which one to flash my phone with.
Also, did you backup your stock rom, or do you just use one from here if u ever need to go back to it? thanks
I suggest to all beginners to spend some time to get acquainted to their new device.
As their new device is running a stock ROM, I suggest the following (revisiting an older post of mine):
1) Install Resco Explorer
http://www.resco.net/pocketpc/explorer/default.asp
2) Install all HTC hotfixes for Diamond 2
(http://www.htc.com/europe/supportdownloadlist.aspx?p_id=249&act=sd&cat=0)
3) Install .NET Framework 3.5 (requirement for a bunch of 3rd party software)
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...FD-AE52-4E35-B531-508D977D32A6&displaylang=en
4) Install SKTools (needed for many things but especially for next step)
http://www.s-k-tools.com/index.html?m_products.html#tools
5) Use SKTools to disable ActiveSync (results in huge improvement of battery duration)
5a) Disable the repllog.exe (which is the application behind ActiveSync) associated with ""AppRunAfterTimeChange"" in Notifications Queue
Alternative way is to install Dotfred's Task manager and kill repllog.exe: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3175757&postcount=50
5b) Follow the steps 1-7 in the thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=288352
5c) Install eLiAs_ASyncKiller.cab
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3048077&postcount=40
6) Install HDTweak for various tweaks (eg for improvement of TouchFlo response)
7) Install sdkcerts (needed for "cosmetic" interventions eg Hall Feica fonts in TouchFlo, slpashscreens, topbar etc)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=471604
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3661976&postcount=80
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3861405&postcount=2
8) Install Diamond D3D Video drivers using the first attachment from:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=475493&highlight=ATI+3d+driver
Before installation download and run the fourth attachment (Lights.exe)
Install the drivers and then run Lights.exe again to see the huge improvement
9) Install G-Config (for forcing applications to go into landscape mode)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3848546&postcount=3
10) Install CleanRAM (for reclaiming back some RAM)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=514333
12) Install PIM Backup (for Backing up Contacts, Calendar, Messages etc)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=299705
13) Enjoy your Topaz
After feeling that you have understood the philosophy how your Topaz works, move on to a cooked ROM.
Cooked ROMs include many features, thus you don't have to follow all the 12 steps I described above.
Don't be overwhelmed by a ROM's looks. Choose stability over looks + new versions of cabs and TF3D. I recommend as a start the TESS 2.0 (+ its 2 fixes of GoogleMaps and Call History)
P.S.:
Backup your Contacts, Calendar etc frequently
Read a lot & don't post before you search
Cheers
Hi,
I've had the Diamond2 for a few days now.
Having turned off button sounds in Windows settings, I still get button sounds using the TouchFlo onscreen keyboard.
How can I turn off the keyboard sound?
