Changing Highlight Color - Android Themes

How can I change the highlight color for the current theme I'm using?
I remember having the "minus" theme or something on CM4.2.9 before I caught up with the times again, and I remember having an option in Metamorph to be able to change things like the highlight, or maybe it was the overall color for the theme.
I would think that it would be possible to change the highlight color throughout the system, unless its app/process specific, in which case it would have to be custom made into the theme.
Can anyone provide some help with this? If you cant give a simple way to do it, I guess my next step would be to learn how to edit the theme files and change the highlight color myself.
I'm currently running CM4.2.15.1 with the Darkstar theme.
Thanks in advance!

Why Yellow?

I was just wondering if anyone knows how to change the default color scheme on a stock android Nexus One 2.1? You know how yellowish orange is used for everything, loading bars, selecting options and many other things. Is there anyway to select a different color for this job?

Click to collapse
No, you can't select a colour because they're all images. About the best you can do is replace them all. Most (all?) of them are in framework-res.apk.
and to replace those, you have to unlock =|
You'd also have to dig into your launcher and replace colors there. Its really not hard to do, I modded my framework-res.apk with files from a desire rom, then adb pushed them to where they needed to be. The launcher, whichever one you use, will have to be resigned, though.

Change color of Button Text & General theming Questions

Does anyone know how to change the color of the text on buttons? Ive been messing around with my phone a lot and have somehow changed the color to white and now I cant see the text on buttons. I'm running kaos froyo but all of the framework-res has been replaced. I have tried colorchanger.jar but it doesn't control these colors and I cant seem to find what file it is?
I have found a great looking theme that has all it's graphics in the drawable-hdmi folder. The only thing I need to do to use them is resize them to same size as the corresponding file for our phone, correct? Basically spinner_black.png has to be the same dimensions as the original.
Also I want to take the spinner, wait, icon out of the NFL mobile app and use it in my theme. I have been reading a lot and trying to figure this out on my own. I am now able to read all xml files in plain readable English and am able to convert it back to binary. I still don't know what all the java means but I'm trying to learn that now. Does anyone know any easy way to find what I'm looking for or should I just wait and figure it out with the knowledge of more java.
For those who are interested the resources.arsc file found in framework-res.apk is where the control of the color of buttons is located. I dont know how to decompile it into readable form yet but that is what controls colors and size of images for some things. Colors for the notification bar is held is services.jar so at least Im making some headway. I will keep posting small things I find here to help anyone wanting to make there own themes.
P.S. My **** is starting to look really sweet
Did you figure it out?

[REQ|CM7 Theme Chooser] Overscroll Color

first off, i apologize if were not allowed to do this, but i couldn't find any sort of request forms here.
and now onto the request.
i'm not asking for any images or anything like that. already have those in a metamorph.
But since there is no option to change the overscroll glow color, this theme is apparently the only way to do it and from what i've read i can't make one since it requires linux and a bunch of other stuff i don't have.
though if someone could tell me how to do this without linux i would be very very grateful
SO i'm putting out a very small request for three versions with nothing more than the custom color done, so they don't affect my morph. if images are required for the theme, then i guess the stock AOSP ones and i'll just overwrite it with my morph.
i'm looking for the default gingerbread color, not sure what the hex code is. and then two blue ones using the color hex codes: 0099ff and 4d4dff.
Any help would be very appreciated. Thanks!

[Q] question about themeing (directory)

hi, i was porting a theme to my sgsII, and ran into a problem.
it is okay in the screen shots that it seems normal.
but when you look at the screen in person, in the highlighted part, inside of the circle, is blue.
i only changed btn_circle_xxx's in Contacts.apk\res\drawable-hdpi-finger.
do i have to change anything else to make it seem all gray?
Just an idea bro but for a quick fix why dont you leave the color it was before and the files that you themed upload to the uot kitchen and change the highlight color like that.

[CLOSED] How to change font colors?

Hey Guys,
i`m searching for a method to change my font color.
As i posted in the "Show your wallpaper sticky" my Wallpaper has a white Background.
I also made the status bar and the dock fully transparent.
So it is impossible to read the clock or something else what is written in white...
Hope someone could give me a kick in the right direction.

Changing the native font colour involves pulling your framwork-res.apk, decompiling it, editing the hex values in XML, recompiling it and then pushing it back to the phone. I'm sure if you Google "change font colour android" you'll find a few guides.
Alternatively, it would be much easier to just use a different background
hi postfatal,
thanks for your response.
i googled the entire morning and this is really the only solution?
*sigh*
so i have to learn a bit more about our beloved android system
i wouldn't change my wallpaper because after 3 years i found a nice new one
