Am using windows Mobile 6.1 and all the screen rotate pannels etc I have found apparently were for a previous version of windows mobile? I have no idea just can't get them to work on install.
Am at the point now where I am just so annoyed of having to pull out my keyboard whenever I want to be playing music etc.
Anyone point me in the right direction
been an idle lurker here for months, just hate messaging. Keep up the good work guys
I can't figure out exactly what you want the phone to do..
The Xperia X1 does not have an accelerometer, so it can't 'feel' how it is oriented if that's your problem. The only way to rotate the screen is through settings - screen orientation, or sliding out the hardware keyboard.
I hope it helps...
- Sofa
you could always map a button to rotate the screen...
AE Button plus.
quickmenu also provides rotate
maybe a little less comfortable as you need to access the respective submenu manually
Why didn't I think of that... Mapped a button.
Thankya.
BUMP
nobody with ideas?
ok i guess you want to rotate screen with some software.. ?
SPB Mobile Shell (available as a panel for free) or SPB Pocket Plus (commercial) both provide such a feature.

I just installed TomTom 6 on my Diamond, all is working well but I can't seem to force the display to rotate 90 degrees to landscape orientation.
On my Wizard I always programmed one of my hardware buttons to <rotate screen>. There's only one button to program (the green phone button) on the Diamond, but the <rotate screen> option is not available!
Any thoughts?
Have you tried to install SPB pocket plus and use the built-in shortcut to rotate the screen? It should work... or so i hope
with QuickMenu.

Wow nice app!
Ill try it out on my wife's Diamond to see if it will force rotate (and hopefully remain rotated after a reboot/restart).
I was hoping on a more elegant solution, other than having to install a whole new app just to enable screen rotation!
You know what, I'll fire up the WM6 SDK and program a TT6 launcher myself Let me know if anyone's interested so we can gather some tips and other useful input on this.
I used quicktime but it messed up my taskbar, my close programs icon was gone
needed to hard reset
I can't seem to be able to find a satisfactory solution for setting the screen orientation.
Personally I don't really like to use the g-sensor for screen orientation. It doesn't seem sensitive enough and there is that delay before it rotates. Also, when holding the Diamond in my lap or resting on a table, it lies too flat for the sensor to rotate the screen. Actually, even when I hold the diamond straight up and tilt it, Opera doesn't always rotate. Sometimes shaking it a bit does the trick, but not always. Maybe I have a bad g-sensor, but I'd still prefer other solutions.
I think what would suit me best is to have a hardware button to toggle between portrait and landscape. I have tried mapping the call button using tweak 21, but it's not working with all apps, at least not with Opera (build 1938).
I'm curious about bepes Gnes, where you can pre-define screen orientation for different apps. However, AFAIK, Gnes only comes with bepes ROM and there's no CAB. Gnes could work well for me, as I always use apps where I input text (SMS, e-mail, Notes) in landscape to be able to use the wider full qwerty keyboard. Opera is trickier, as I would like to be able to change orientation there.
Are there any other options?
How have you solved this?
First, enable landscape mode using the registry tweak.
Then map the long press call button to landscape as a manual toggle button.
Works well for me.

Problem is, when I use this in Opera, I get to thrown out to the browser tab in TF3D.

Do you mean that this works well for you, even in Opera?
If so, what ROM and what Opera build are you using?
Any input on this would be appreciated.
Hi all - I promise you this isn't a repost. (At least I don't think it is.) For the life of me, I can't figure this one out.
I remapped my PTT button just fine, and for a while it rotated the screen clockwise. Why does it matter?
I have an HTC phone mount, and the AT&T Telenav service, that I frequently use on my dashboard. But now, for some reason, the phone only wants to rotate counter clockwise when I hit the PTT button. (Like it does when you slide out the keyboard.) I, for the life of me, can't figure out why it's behaving like this. I don't know what changed recently that forced it the other way. But short of formatting, (Which I'd really rather not do), I can't figure it out.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

i should look inot what you did for the screen rotation..whenever i am in opera with the screen landscape and i touch the top windows tool bar my screen gets turned 180' so now the keboard is out and my screen is upside down
but ONLY in opera this hapens, then i have to go to screen settins and rotate
Fear not....that is actually a known issue with Opera Mobile. (9.5 Beta, right?)

Landscape mode does not take keyboard position into consideration

I use pocket informant. But If I want to use the touchflo, I'm pretty stuck to its layout for the today screen. What I noticed is sometimes, if I go into landscape and try to open the calender or contacts, it opens the WM version, not the PI version. Then when I switch back to portrait, the calender/contacts button is messed up sometimes still. Only way to get it to display correctly, is by opening the calender version of PI, then by clicking on the calender button on the "today" screen, it gets remapped.
Did that make sense? Any way to stop it from opening the crappy WM version?

I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for, but you can remap the calendar button on the touchflo home screen (AND the landscape button screen) with SSMaPa. Do a search for it over in the Diamond Themes forum.
Keep in mind it was written for the Diamond touchflo and has some bugs on the Touch Pro. There are some posts late in the thread that explain how to get it to work on the Touch Pro. It worked fine for me.
Hi guys, Happy Easter! Currently I am typing from my D2, so I'm not able to search for a good fix due to slow wi-fi connection. That's why I'm asking any of you that already knows how to make my screen auto rotate. I am using windows 6.5 and I can't remember which rom, tough it's a very simple one. At this point my image won't auto rotate when moving the phone, so games like Rock Band won't work. Opera and other few programs auto rotate plus games that are made only on landscape. The problem is I can't find the auto rotate setting or program, only a setting that makes me choose landscape/portrait. I changed my whole menu to landscape and Rock Band still doesn't work. Can anyone help me?
Thank you

There is an auto rotate app here. I have not tested it so I can't confirm that it will work on your ROM.
You can also try the attached GSensor cab.
Another thing you can do use the Topaz keyboard control app and set rotate to one of your buttons.

The app must support rotation and you could also set one of your buttons on double\triple\ or long press to rotate screen left or right with the kybrd cnfg....
