Software installer

Hi,
Does anyone know, how to make a programm for pocket pc without complicated license from microsoft ?
I've made some programs with visual studio .net 2003 professional edition but with the one with the student license. So I can't publicate it
Another problem is, how to make an installer for my program, that i wrote ?
Thanks for any help
Donny
you need to make CAB files.
MS have their cabwizard. Dont know wich what product it is sold.
or use WinCE Cab manager from www.ocpsoftware.com That one at least gives you 15 tries for free . . . . .
suppose you could use ms embedded visual studio
somebody said it was free from ms of cause it dont support .net
another way is to get the GCC compiler
or the free .net compiler for pocketpc's

Yahoo Go! on Diamond not working...

Has anyone been able to install Yahoo Go! 3 beta on their Diamond?
When I install the cab the text keeps over-writting itself (perhaps I don't have the the correct cab for Diamond??) Ican sort off "fudge" it but it still bounces me out and shuts down...very frustrating
Anyway, if someone has a cab that works correctly I would appreciate a share...
Thanks
Nobody using Yahoo Go 3
I have the same problem.
Yahoo go 3 a no go for me.
Me too, slow and weird overwriting text. Gave up with them and support didn't want to know.
Same problem here; its a pity because Yahoo! Go is such a good package. Hope Yahoo or HTC will do something about it soon.
I will routinely keep downloading the latest CAB's (if I can find 'em) and trying installs....they're bound to get it right somtime......aren't they?!?!?
Java ME Issue?
Hi Folks,
I've the same problem on my O2 XDA Diamond, too.
IMHO it's not a problem of Yahoo Go! but the Java ME on the Diamond.
Has anybody tried to use any other Java ME JRE on the Diamond?

Click to collapse
Actually it is not the JRE. The one supplied with the diamond is Sun Certified so should be allright.
The problem is the Yahoo Go! application which uses a .net java-hack dll thingie. This dll is in effect a midlet wrapper for .net and simply is not working very well.
In other words: it is (as per usual) a Microsoft problem.
anyone get this to work? its as if its the wrong size? it just doesnt work right after instasll
Because Yahoo Go! is still not supported for our HTC Diamond as yet.
Hello,
as today any update ?
Yahoo go beta 3
Even i had the same problem after installing new ROM upgrade. but after uninstalling it completely from my HTC Diamond (even remove folder from /program files/yahoo go) I again downloaded it from yahoo website and installed. Now its working properly.
Error is because we uninstall program but system folder is not deleted.
Try this. May ur problem get solved.

[SOLUTION] for screen freezes on newest WM6.1 ROM from HTC...

If your screen is freezing some times there is solution for you.
First what you need is .NET Compact Framework 3.5. You can found it here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...49-3C6B-42F1-9FD9-0041345B3385&displaylang=en
If you want direct CAB i uploaded it here:
http://rapidshare.com/files/148006720/NETCFv35.cab.html
Install it like normal CAB file. Now you need set up .NET Compact Framework as default framework in your system. For that you need registry editor wchich you can found here:
http://www.dotfred.net/TM/FdcSoft TaskMgr wm2005_3.1.cab
Just install it, open and go to the RegEdit tab. Now you should go to this key in registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\.NETCompactFramework
As you can see there are two strings:
2.0.7045.00 with value 1
and
3.5.7283.00 with value 0
You must change 2.0.7045.00 to 0 and 3.5.7283.00 to 1. After that your default framework in system will be version 3.5.
Now make soft reset of your Kaiser.
Next what you need to do is turn off all services from HTC in the system beacuse how i think it is general rason of screen freezes in HTC Kasier with newest ROM from HTC. For do it you should use the task manager wchich you installed before but now you need go to Services tab. As you can see there are many services. You need disable only this:
HTC Application Serivce
HTC Generic Service
HtcServices
TaskManager
To disable this services just tap and hold on the name and tap Disable in menu. If you can't tap disable the tap Set Manual and make soft reset and after that the disable option will be available.
I am working on my kaiser more than 1,5 week without this services and i can't see any malfunctions or side effect, whatever i don't use HTC Home and HTC Task Manager so i can't tell you how this two applications work without this services.
I hope that it will be helpful for you and screen freezes issue will gone. Sorry for my english and Good Luck.
I tend to like the update spl method.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=396922
I tried every version of HardSPL but it not solve freezes on my Kaiser. Now i am using HardSPL 3.29 released by Commex (with removed stuck on bootloader possibility).
After this what wrote in first post i can say that i am happy first time of using my Kaiser bacuse i feel the boost now.
Well cool and thanks for writing this up. I'd like to hear what others have to say.
what fixed my freezing up problem was the simple upgrade of the spl.....a minute or two of my time and BAM! no more freezing...
Everything I needed was already installed - I simply switched the values for 2.0 and 3.5 and rebooted. No issues so far, but I'll let ya know as it goes along today.
Yeah some ROMs already have the proper .net stuff already installed, some don't.

Is there a CAB for "HTC Diamond USB Mass Storage" ?

Hello,
I noticed that some cooked Diamond ROMs contain an "HTC Diamond USB Mass Storage".. This one, for instance:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=367375
..and some cooked ROMs have links to the optional HTC and/or carrier add-on components in CAB form, so I know it is possible..
Is there an extracted cab available for this, and more importantly, would it work with an AT&T 8925/Tilt/TyTN-II running Dutty's WM6.1? I'm willing to test this out if the driver can possibly be extracted and CABbed into a standalone installer!
Anything would be appreciated! I can't get WM5torage to work properly (locks up the phone) and I want to avoid CardExport if I can possibly get the first-party HTC driver to work.
If nobody can help, then I will have no choice but to try hacking it out of a cooked ROM myself. If successful, I'll put it back into the community! If anyone else has tried this and determined that it's not possible, please let me know so I don't waste my time trying.
I have already searched the forums and Google, with no useful results other than links to the cooked ROMs.

Looking For The Same
I am also looking for this cab. I have tried a whole bunch of them but they keep freezing my kaiser. Any luck tring to find something?
me also nothing works on my kaiser
I'm running WM5torage 1.8 OK on mine, with Duttys 6.1

What version of .NET do I have?

Colleagues,
I upgraded my Fuze to .NET to 3.5 but when I go to .NET Config I see 2 different numbers. The first line shows: 3.5.7283.0 (ROM). The second line shows: 2.0.7045.0.
Why 2 different numbers and what version of .NET do I have?
Thanks in advance.
Using the search you will find the answer to your question....#Greetz
Boris
You have 2.0, which came with your phone, and 3.5, which you added. Select 3.5 in config -- it's backward compatible.
emesbe,
Thank you for your useful response (as opposed to others').
how exactly do you upgrade the .NET to 3.5. i downloaded it from the microsoft website and it said it wasnt a valid ppc file.
i used the search function (typed .NET and also tried .NET upgrade) i even tried google. anyway basically all i want this for is so i can use the diamond beer app aswell as any other app i might download or create that might need it.
thank you.
There are 2 versions, one for PC (wrong) and one for PPC /mobile (right), you have to choose & install the correct version....

@jdomi99: my answer was intendet to be usefull, but if someone is sitting down and waiting for other people doing his work, it couldnt be usefull. Your question has been answered here for many times, and its boring answering the same question many times only cause some collegues are to lazy to use that great function called "search", where they can easily find answers themselves.
borisku,
If it is boring answering you should have stayed quiet, and don't call me (or anyone) lazy, a forum like this one is for everyone to help everyone else. Do a Search yourself and post the search results here of what I was looking for so you can see that nothing comes close to answering my specific question.
Looks other for me: thats only one example of many
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=381007
But I try to help all people, even if they seem to be lazy
Greetz
dont mind, thats my last answer to that nice post...
Like I said, nothing even close to my specific question. You're fired!
