Call Log - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

How Can I keep my call log forever?
I think the default setting I currently have is limited to 500 calls.
Thanx

well I installed an app that upload all my call log to my Google calendar in real time. its brilliant. I created a separate calendar called "my calls" and now I have a permanent complete history of all missed and received calls. its a free app call "call track" or something.
but I don't know if you can extend the built in call log length. mine seems to go back 30 days which makes my list freaking enormous.

Anybody got the apk for CallTrack? Doesn't show in Market for me...

yeah I just double checked and its called "call track", free in the market. I guess it doesn't show up in the market for you? its a great app exactly what would help you.

Call log

Is there any way to remove messages from the call log? I want to able to see sent/received/missed calls without having to scroll through all the texts I've sent that day. None of my previous phones have ever included messages in the call log. It's a bloody nuisance

I believe that's an Android thing. You could always use a custom Dialer and call log app... search the market.
go to logs, press the touchkey in the left and under view by option select ur preferable option..
also, give callLog+ from the market a whirl.
Thanks guys. Can't find callLog+ in the market. Can anyone recommend something similar?

Call Controlling

Anyone know of an app that will allow me to play messages to callers based on the person who is calling? I want to play a "number disconnected" message to only selected people so that they think my number is deconed. I want all callers to come through.
I have found Call Blocking apps but they just drop the calls. Another app plays the same .mps file to all callers. The only app I have found to do both is only available in China.
I am rooted and ready to install.
Thanks.
Youmail works good for that

If you use google voice. Go to Google voice on your PC and set up your greetings for a specific person or group In your settings.

Anyone you block in Google Voice will hear a very official sounding disconnected message. This, of course, assumes the unwanted caller is calling your Google Voice number.

[Q] Contact Call History

I have been using my ZR for 2 weeks and it is excellent. However, on my old Galaxy S I can see the call history for any contact which I find useful, but on my ZR the option doesn't seem be there. Am I missing something, or is there an app that will help?
I uses call recorder app so both history and contents everything are kept.

Hi, I don't want to record the calls, just see the call history for individual contacts. Will the app do that?
The app will name each call with the dial~in number or contact name if you saved the number. Plus the date and time of the call. That's much better than call history, i mean you can download the records backe to PC and while you don't rename them then it equal to download a copy of call history

Hmm, that's not really what I'm looking for. I just want to select a contact on my phone and see a list of all calls to and from them. I can do it on my 2010 Galaxy so I'd be surprised if it's not possible on the ZR. Thanks for your time, though.

[VIDEO] Google Nexus 5 - Setup Visual Voicemail for AT&T

My preference as an AT&T user is the original Visual Voicemail application over the AT&T messages app. The latter tries to combine all of your call lists, text messages, voicemails, etc in one. Some people rather retain control over their text messages. You can disable notifications, but I know at one point it would still semi interfere with other messaging applications.
Just in case you had your phone voicemail forwarding to another number, please view this video to reset it:

Idk about the spyware thing, but if its hanging at waiting for verification, you probably don't have vvm provisioned on your account. Make sure your data plan says something about having vvm.
Just use Google Voice. Visual voicemail that can be accessed on any device or PC.

Yeah I don't know about the whole spyware thing.
Anyways sometimes visual voicemail takes a little while to provision. Just a glitch in the matrix. Probably network load related.
Google voice for visual voice mail here, im also on att
Google Voice and Death Star Mobile here as well
You can't go wrong with Google Voice, especially if you live in Google-land. A minute ago I got a voicemail. A notification message with a full, mostly-accurate transcription of the voicemail went to my phone and Gmail. Gmail has native support and allows you to play the VM right from inside the email. Pretty convenient.

Everyone should use Google Voice. No MMS, but it's not 2006, so...
FYI, in order for call forwarding to work properly with GV on AT&T, you need to call AT&T and insist that they disable visual voicemail on your account. After all you don't need it.
After you do this, forwarding will work perfectly. Took me a week to figure this out.

I've found older versions of the att visual voice mail apk around on the forums, but the latest is 2.5.2 on the play store. Anyone have an APK for that to side load onto a nexus 5?

Called AT&T to confirm that VVM is enabled on my account and it is but they couldn't figure out why it's not working. They are getting Tier 3 support to contact me know and I should get a call between now and 1/15.
This would be nice to know cause I called At&t and was told the N5 wasn't supported. Wtft sjnce I use ur services. Oh well....how do I setup Google voicemail?

I have a feeling that's what they are going to tell me hence why it won't work through the Play Store but have no idea how others here were able to get it to work unless something has changed. I'll post up here what I find out.

Z1s and Google voice

Is any one having any issues getting voicemails to show up in their call log after seeing up Google voice? I get the notification but vast seem to find them in the call log.

Are you sure that you entered your google voice number properly in the forwarding options? I had trouble for the first few hours, but called T-mobile and they checked the forwarding settings... now it works properly.
In the call log, you will see only a missed call. The message itself will only show up in your gmail list, and the browser version of google voice... I think.? There is also a stand-alone .apk app for gVoice, available in the play store]

I am sure ebbed it right as it works just fine for calls. But in a 4.1 I believe they added the option to have your vm show up in the call log to listen to only. This worked fine on my n4. And the option is selected in the stand alone app.

I'm having some strange issues with GV on my Z1S. Just switched to T-Mobile last week and immediately made GV my voicemail. I removed my number from the website and re-added it, went through the prompts, and got the forwarding working. Now, I have 2 strange issues:
1. All the time the phantom voicemail icon will appear on my phone. I force quit "phone" (the app) and it goes away, but it'll show up sometime tomorrow or when I reboot my phone or something.
2. The GV voicemail seems to work intermittently (may have some effect on #1). Meaning, someone will call me and tell me they left a message, but the message is no where to be found. My theory is the forwarding didn't kick in, the message went to T-Mobile voicemail, and the phantom icon appeared. However, I can't yet confirm that.
Anyone dealing with either of these issues?
Is there a way to check my T-Mo voicemail after I've set everything up with google voice?
Thanks.
Same issues am having. For number 1 i am going to try and reset my number from the website.
For number 2 I just disabled the option to see vm in the call log.
The Phantom vm is tmobile picking up and then GV taking over so essentially a vm on each. It's annoying
