Call Controlling - Motorola Droid Bionic

Anyone know of an app that will allow me to play messages to callers based on the person who is calling? I want to play a "number disconnected" message to only selected people so that they think my number is deconed. I want all callers to come through.
I have found Call Blocking apps but they just drop the calls. Another app plays the same .mps file to all callers. The only app I have found to do both is only available in China.
I am rooted and ready to install.
Thanks.

Youmail works good for that

If you use google voice. Go to Google voice on your PC and set up your greetings for a specific person or group In your settings.

Anyone you block in Google Voice will hear a very official sounding disconnected message. This, of course, assumes the unwanted caller is calling your Google Voice number.

Call Log

How Can I keep my call log forever?
I think the default setting I currently have is limited to 500 calls.
Thanx
well I installed an app that upload all my call log to my Google calendar in real time. its brilliant. I created a separate calendar called "my calls" and now I have a permanent complete history of all missed and received calls. its a free app call "call track" or something.
but I don't know if you can extend the built in call log length. mine seems to go back 30 days which makes my list freaking enormous.

Anybody got the apk for CallTrack? Doesn't show in Market for me...
yeah I just double checked and its called "call track", free in the market. I guess it doesn't show up in the market for you? its a great app exactly what would help you.

[Q] Google Voice?

I can't find Google Voice...I find that odd. Am I misiing something?
Nah man I can't find it either I think hopefully theyll try to make an optimized version, regardless, I'm a little upset

If you try to install it via market.android.com, it says it's an invalid device.
not compatible yet. Should have an update soon. I have found other apps like logmin ignition don't work either. Sure updates will roll out soon
anyone have an idea on timing for google voice? really would love to be able to make a voice call and get sms.
google translate isn't compatible either...not sure why. seems like it should be able to run the phone version just fine.
I suspect that voice calls will not work even when/if we get google voice app in here. Unless google decides to push gtalk direct dialing like on the browser gmail.

I don't think they'll let you make calls from the xoom or any tablet, I think the most they'll do is to let us send text messages over the xoom, just because this is a tablet not a phone, but then you never know...
you already can with skype
Something I thought about was just using the browser to access the google voice webpage, which you can use to text message as well. It does work better when you change the browser userstring to desktop instead of android.
i tried a little while ago to run the latest version and got fc right off the bat. It may be as simple as a slight APK mod. Ill try a few things and report back.
Did you get it working
By using Fring VoIP, SIPGate, and Google Voice I can make VoIP calls with my Xoom. Once you set up Fring with SIPGate, add your SIPGate number to GV. Go to the GV website on your Xoom, lookup a contact can call. It will forward the call to your SIPGate number and ring on the Xoom through Fring. Works great.
Still waiting for an official GV app though.
I've been in touch with team at Google. At first, I was given the following response:
Thanks for your note. At this time, Google Voice is not compatible with the Motorola Xoom, because the Xoom doesn't have the required telephone features.

After replying that I didn't exactly need the telephone features, but rather the SMS and voicemail checking features, I got this back:
At this time, it's not possible to use the Google Voice app on the Xoom, but I will definitely share your feedback with the Google Voice team.

doesn't csipsimple use honeycombs native phone capabilities? If so why can't GV?
Lacking that what about after the 4g upgrade? Will it not have a radio then technically?
I believe the reason there isn't telephone capabilities is that Google isn't interested in creating a full-fledged VoIP solution just yet. You can see they're testing the waters with the VoIP calling in Gmail, but if they were truly dedicated to the concept, they would have added VoIP capabilities to the standard Android app or released SIP information. After all, Gingerbread and the Nexus S have the capabilities to run something like that.

This is a deal breaker for me on the xoom/Honeycomb. iPad has official GVoice app that does sms, missed calls, & voicemail and it has the talkatone app that does GVoice voip calls. You can put away your phone while using your tablet and not miss anything.
If your GV number is set to ring gmail/gtalk will a the gtalk app ring on a xoom?

Instead of Fring I am now using SIPDroid and it works great. Even tethering from my Incredible.
It looks like I'm going to have to put off the Xoom until more features are enabled.

I'm sure google has some clueless employees too, and given that they developed a GV app for the iPad, which also lacks telephone functionality, I'm betting that that's all this is....one of Google's few clueless.

[Q] is there a way to use carrier voicemail and google voice?

I love getting google voice transcriptions sent via text message but being that I have a limited days plan with att (250 mb) I'd still like to use carrier voicemail to listen to the message in order to save valuable data usage. Is this possible?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
You can call your Google voice number and listen to it like the normal one so you are using minutes and not data
Sent from my SGH-I897 using XDA App
Just make sure you don't look at the transcript on your Google voice app first. Once the voicemail is marked as read, you can't listen to it on the phone call. Once you update your voicemail preferences, the voicemail key on your dial pad will call Google voice instead of att.

Separate voicemail for unknown callers

Is there someway to set up a separate voicemail mailbox for incoming calls originating from hidden numbers? "Hi, this phone is not capable of receiving calls from hidden or unknown numbers, change your settings and call again please". Preferably completely automatic and so that the phone don't even ring.

You need third party application for that
Root call blocker is one of the best.
Though you need to send it to your operator voice mail. like symbian android is not capable of using own system voice mail box. Above said application can send define call to define action (block/silent/voice mail divert etc)
I'm not rooted. Use stock and intend to do so. No solution for stock users?
You may find call blocker for non rooted on market, but this application I told you is the best, even worth to root

Are you sure that you entered your google voice number properly in the forwarding options? I had trouble for the first few hours, but called T-mobile and they checked the forwarding settings... now it works properly.
In the call log, you will see only a missed call. The message itself will only show up in your gmail list, and the browser version of google voice... I think.? There is also a stand-alone .apk app for gVoice, available in the play store]

I am sure ebbed it right as it works just fine for calls. But in a 4.1 I believe they added the option to have your vm show up in the call log to listen to only. This worked fine on my n4. And the option is selected in the stand alone app.

I'm having some strange issues with GV on my Z1S. Just switched to T-Mobile last week and immediately made GV my voicemail. I removed my number from the website and re-added it, went through the prompts, and got the forwarding working. Now, I have 2 strange issues:
1. All the time the phantom voicemail icon will appear on my phone. I force quit "phone" (the app) and it goes away, but it'll show up sometime tomorrow or when I reboot my phone or something.
2. The GV voicemail seems to work intermittently (may have some effect on #1). Meaning, someone will call me and tell me they left a message, but the message is no where to be found. My theory is the forwarding didn't kick in, the message went to T-Mobile voicemail, and the phantom icon appeared. However, I can't yet confirm that.
Anyone dealing with either of these issues?
Is there a way to check my T-Mo voicemail after I've set everything up with google voice?
Thanks.
Same issues am having. For number 1 i am going to try and reset my number from the website.
For number 2 I just disabled the option to see vm in the call log.
The Phantom vm is tmobile picking up and then GV taking over so essentially a vm on each. It's annoying
