I am having an issue with my N1 and my 2010 Acura TL Bluetooth.
Sometimes it connect just fine, others it connects and then drops and still other times will connect the media portion, but not the phone portion.
Does this sound like a software issue(Bluetooth Stack) or defective hardware on the N1?
My car's Bluetooth is fine as it pairs and stays connected to my older phone and other phones that I have tested.

I'm pretty sure it's software-based. IIRC, Bluetooth is partially broken on Android and hasn't been completely fixed yet.

It's a software issue with Android which will [hopefully] be fixed in soon-to-come Android versions
I have same problem with Nokia's car kit and N1. When I start my car, phone connects to HF and says "connected to phone and media" (or something like that) in BT-menu.
Spotify plays music via A2DP thru car kit without any problems, but sometimes phone connection is partially dropped (incoming voice) without any notification. When call arrives, Spotify stops playing music as it should be and I can answer to phone call, but I can't hear callers voice. However, caller can hear my voice, so only callers voice is muted.
This happens randomly. Sometimes phone audio works and sometimes not.
Is this problem reported to Google?

I have a question regarding bluetooth.
I have an sony HBH-DS980 that works great for music playback on my tytn ii.
The problem i have with it is that when the music is playing and a receive a phone call it notifies me and i answer the call. After the call is over the bluetooth link seems to drop and will no reconnect untill i turn the headset off and on.
Is there a way to make the headset go back to music playing and not drop link automatically?

Not having experience of this unit this may be down to the individual headset and I hope some others will come in with experience of this.
Does the headset support both Headset and Wireless Stereo profile?
If it does not, the function may not be supported. I use a Promate PM-2600 and it supports both and when I have selected Wireless Stereo (this has to be done manually!) it works without problem when answering a call and passing back to music or video play.
Hope someone with information on this particular unit gets back to you.

Hi,
I own a Sony HBH-DS980 too, and experiencing the same problem Linxus40's having, but on my 8925 Tilt, of which is essentially the same phone as Linxus40's HTC Tynii .
It's very frustrating having to reboot the HBH-DS980 & re-press the play button to re-establish the bt connection after completion of every incoming call. It's s my understanding that the Sony HBH-DS980 supports both wireless headset & the wireless stereo profile, as I've got no problem placing & receiving unlimited bt calls without disconnection when I'm not listening to music. This said, I find the HBH-DS980's bt audio 'sound quality' fantastic thru the 8925 Tilt.
btw: I've got PocketMusic 5 and PocketPlayer 3.51 on my Tilt, but experience significantly better sound (audio quality) when my music is played via PocketMusic compared to PocketPlayer. Curious if any body else here notices this too.
Ok, any other Sony HBH-DS908 bluetooth headset owners experiencing the dropped bluetooth connection problem Linuxus40 and I are experiencing? Any advice on how the problem can be corrected?
Thanks in advance.

I'm facing the same issue as well! Tried numerous hard resets and fixes you would have thought imaginable! Unfortunately the problem is still existent and it is freaking irritating when you have to press the play button to repair the headset. Worst still - when the music starts playing through the speaker after a call, everyone starts to look at you like you are some moron.
I do really hope there is a way to resolve the problem. Any new fixes i can try???
Senior members? Any help?

I have this exact same problem on my Sony Ericsson HBH-DS220.
The bluetooth will disconnect after hanging up a phone call. I don't press anything on the headset, I wait for the other person to hang up. When it hangs up, it immediately disconnects the bluetooth headset.
Annoying!
Probably a problem with the bluetooth stack then. The stack is already known to be very buggy and have problems with lots of Bluetooth devices. Luckily, unlike the graphics card, it looks like HTC will be releasing a fixed Bluetooth stack at some point in the future. In the mean time, you are probably out of luck.
Bluetooth connection problem also with Tilt
I have a Plantronics 510 BT earpiece that for no discernible reason is connected one minute and gone the next too. I haven't been able to determine any combination of actions, such as ending a call as the culprit. I always have to make the connection manually between the earpiece and the Tilt also - it never links automatically when I turn the earpiece on like it did with my Treo 650. I've had this Tilt for 3 days and this is probably going to be a show stopper and make me return it to at&t before the eval period in spite of everything else good about the phone. I also have a Plantronics Pulsar 590 stereo headset that I haven't experimented enough with yet to know if the connection is as flaky. But the bottom line is - I'll be damned if I'm going to try to fiddle with establishing a connection and all the steps it can take while I'm driving down the road!

Hi, my N6 have a weird call problem in my 2012 Prius. It calls out fine using bluetooth but when receiving a call it wouldn't go through the car bluetooth speaks/mic. I can take the call using the cars button on steering wheel but the audio to be still using the earpiece or phone speaker. There is no audio through the car speakers. the weird part is it only happens when receiving calls not dialing out. Latest 6.0.1 update and non-root stock rom. Thanks.

Did you join just to thread jack in a totally inappropriate section of XDA? Move to the HTC threads and ask there.
Do you have the option to switch between audio on the phones dialer screen? For example, when talking and connected to bluetooth I can cycle between earpiece (quite speaker), bluetooth audio(bluetooth device), and speaker (loud speaker).
Hi
I have a P30 Pro, EMUI 9.1 .0.193 and I'm experiencing random disconnect of my BT headset during the call. I had a Voyager Legend and now a Jabra Supreme UC but the problem is still present.
Basically, during a phone call, randomly, the BT headset disconnect and the call is routed to the phone, or to another BT device.
The phone is very close to the headset to I don't think it is a problem of distance.
Does anyone have the same problem?
Thanks
Stefano
Yes, mine does the same with different headsets so I believe it is the phone, not the headset. I have to reboot my phone every week because Bluetooth will connect to my headset but only for calls, not for audio.

I'm trying to understand if there is something around that could generate the problem... Random disconnections occur only when I'm at home at my desk, I have a bluetooth keyboard and mouse connected to the PC, probably there is interference. I never had disconnections when I'm outdoor or in the car...
I will try to pay more attention to this fact, maybe you can do the same to see any possible relationship of the problem with the sourrender environment.
I cannot use the mic when Bluetooth is connected in any apps, it just records blank, no voice typing, assistant, nothing. This is when connected to car Bluetooth or Galaxy Watch. doesn't even use said devices mic. When I disconnect the Bluetooth the mic works again instantly. Driving me bananas especially considering i'm connected to watch all day. Is anyone having this problem?

I had this issue with the 2XL when connected to my car bluetooth. Would not accept voice input. I just stopped using this feature and just use the phone microphone instead. Looks like they still haven't resolved this issue.
Do some searches and you can find that you aren't the only one.
only thing i noticed with BT is that when Im connected to my jeep.. I dont get SMS notifs (sound).. and I have my typing make sound and that is absent while connected to my jeep BT radio..
Sadly, Google decided to make Android 9 stream every sound a phone can make to a connected BT device, no matter if that device is capable of playing that sound, and no matter if streaming every sound makes sense at all. This leads to not hearing alarms and notifications and it also means you can't hear directional instructions by you navigation app when your phone is paired to your car's radio for phone calls only.
And sadly, Lineage decided not to undo this not-so-clever idea of Google.
I know we had this discussion before, but being not able to hear my navigation app drives me crazy every day I need to use it. My company car is equipped with a BT capable radio, that can handle calls only. But as soon as the radio and my phone are connected, Android/LOS still tries to send every tone and every sound to that radio, resulting in silencing my phone completely.
I tried some apps that can redirect any sound in a way that they appear as a phone call to a connected BT device. But those apps block calls, and while I am talking to some one, there won't be any navigation instructions on the car's speaker either and I have to rely on optical instructions, removing my vision from the happenings on the road. These apps also make the radio useless as a radio: you have to keep it switched to BT input all the time.
How about the other way round? Is there any app that can make Android stop sending a specific audio output to a connected BT device? If it's possible to disguise even music as a phone call, I imagine it should be possible to tell BT to use the phone's speaker for a specific source of sound.
There is a setting in maps whether to send directions via Bluetooth

There's a similar setting in Osmand, which sends directions as a phone call to the BT device. But using this option will interrupt the paring for phone calls, so you can't have both, you have to decide whether to use hand free calling mode or to hear your navigation directions.
BT and its settings was a thousand times more sophisticated in Android 7 / LOS 14, when alarms and notification sounds where played over the phones speaker, while your music or calls was sent to a BT device. Now, in A8/LOS15 and above, all sounds are send to a paired and active BT device. So, if your ear phones are activated, and you put them into your pocket, you won't hear any text notification or any alarm. I can not imagine the poor way of thinking at Google's development department that has lead to this idea.
