Hello. Iam looking for ebook reader or software which allows speed reading and interface is really simple showing one word after another with adjustable speed
www(dot)spreeder.com/app.php?intro=1 - web speed reader
shamless bump
I'm unsure if there is such a thing, but it sounds pretty awesome and I want it. :<
Well i know there was such program for Symbian. So I am hoping for it for android also. It saves tons of time..
shamless bump #2
I'll bump this one as well.
I used MobileDynamo's app on the PPC. I would love to have one for Android.
CD
yes, please make this app! I feel stupid carrying around a Dell Axim x51 just for the Speed Reader Plus app (that only runs on windows mobile), when I have a Nexus One!

That looks pretty exciting. I really like the home screen with the scroll app that allows you to choose your programs.
With $10M being handed out to any people developing good stuff for this platform I'd say the future looks really Bright!
This looks awesome. I would switch to this as soon as similar applications that i use on winmo become available for this.
Nice it seems like java can be used for development. Maybe i can finally improve my java skills. I think i feel enthusiastic enough to develop for this.
Hi,

They say they're prototipes.
Is there anyone programming a Dyno/Quartermile -Measuring Application?
I've found one for the *uaaah* Iphone/Ipod Touch *uaaaaah* called "Dynolicious"
http://www.dynolicious.com/
Looks great!!
Time to get a competitor on Diamond *g*
greetings
Alex
yeah i agree with that its looks very nice.
nice idea for the diamond. i'm looking forward to how this program works
GPSSkinner should be able to give you most of the info and even with a design you choose yourself

Wow this is just what I need. Would definately pay actual money for that app on the diamond
I like this idea also. GPSskinner only use the GPS, it would be nice if this can be done with the G-Sensor we have in our diamonds....
gps thingy only measur speed that can my tomtom also ^^ the dyno program from dynolisious has much more options then only speed
I would definately buy an application like this for the diamond.
My car is going to be tortured so much, as soon as this app is available.
Looking forward to it ;-)
yeah now we need someone that can make this
hehe i can't still learning c and java :O
This certainly looks awesome.Anybody looking into making this for the diamond?
that's great
i have used up to now the gti.sis from www.tempes.com with an symbian phone and it works not bad
but measurements with the g sensor you get better values for a reproducible
acceleratin.
i hope someone can do the hard work
I would like something like that http://www.veypor.com/veypor.html
It is accelerometer - based!!
If it can be developed on the iPhone, and HTC is "The phone with all the things iPhone STILL misses" then it should be possible to program it for the HTC aswell ! Just requires a programming nerdy with fuel in the blood
Yes, please someone make this program. im happy to donate for this

Unfortunately, we have no current plans to support any platform other than the iPhone.

So someone have to clone it
I gonna donate a cup of coffee at starbucks to the guy who makes it for Touch Diamond!
i'd donate $25 for a comparable program like the iphone version.
there's a new video on yt, where the [email protected] is compared with a dynojet + gtech.
iphone was much more accurate and much better to use...

Here's a couple other standalone hardware examples. Maybe they would write the software?
http://www.traqmate.com/
http://www.race-technology.com/description_8_956.html
http://www.g2xtreme.com/faq.htm
PDA Dyno exists:
http://www.nology.com/pdadyno.html
I by no means know enough about the hardware required, but there is a fast sampling time required for gps data logging. Googling the topic brings up plenty of discussion from SCCA forums.
i'd donate $20 for a comparable program like the iphone version
I got a reply from Traqmate:
We have jokingly spoken about doing an iPhone implementation. The
problem is that Traqmate uses a high-speed GPS chip chosen for speed and
the phones use a 1Hz chip that is chosen for sensitivity. Good idea but
I am afraid a phone would not make a very good Traqmate.

Is there an Iphone Rom for the wizard??? Ive only found programs that change different things seperately - like the dialer, contacts - and stuff like that. Is there any complete ROMS out there which emulate the iphone or something close to it?
Id put up a poll to see the number of people who's be looking for an iphone rom but i don't really know how to do that
yeah me too eagerly waiting for such type of rom.......
sounds like a nice idea, but to be honest most of the (iphoney) mods are kinda slow on the wizard, especially ifonz which does look very nice.
so you would probably end up with a rom ythat was quite slow and not much space left.
justmy 2c though
Try out Winterface. Find yourself a nice clean VANILLA rom without all the M2D or HTC Home horse****, download Winterface and give it a shot. It's a paid program, but it's only $16.95 to unlock once your 2 week trial expires. If you like the iPhone UI though, you'll like Winterface.
I've seen a few of them here and there but along with the other comments the general conscencus that ive read was that while they were pretty they were also slow. There was a nice little contact manager that ovvered the same neat finger/scrolly flip action but i cannot remember the name off of the top of my head. I think i'll go do a search and see if i can come up with it. And give it another chance.
Shane
Sure the programs are slow tht emulate iphone UI but if properly built into a rom like HTC stuff is done i hope it would work fine. Lets hope a Rom cook drops by here and we get smthin!!!
That program was called pocketCM. You can get it from www.pocketcm.com It has a few iPhone styled themes available. Might get you closer to where you're wanting to be without a rom.
Shane
This is what I've been looking for too!!!! Somebody with the ability, make it happen for 2009.
It looks like someone is undertaking this task and it looks very promising. He seems to be open to suggestions.

Why would anyone want the iPhone rom? I have a friend who has an iPhone and my wizard with a 2 year old WM6 will kick the iPhone's butt any day of the week. Yes the iPhone has prettier stuff, but I'd rather take substance over style any day of the week. And with Skyfire browser, I can surf like mad. The roms I know of that are somewhat close are resource hogs and leave very little space for any apps. No thanks, not for me. You guys have fun. When a rom comes out that is as stylish as the iPhone, but kicks butt like my Jaguar, then I may consider it.
On second thought...
Actually, thinking about it, just to shut up idiots who paid way too much for an iPhone, this would be cool. Then I can say that my 3 year old phone does the same and looks the same as your loser iPhone, and since my phone isn't on lock-down, I can add or change anything about it at will.

There's a very good tuning calculator out for Forza 3 that's been written as a flash file. Does anyone know how difficult it would be to make this into an app?
http://forzatraders.com/forza-motorsport-3-car-setup-tool
From reading on Forza forums others have requested the same thing since it's currently an app for the iphone. I have a feeling it would be pretty popular.

We're all nerds! This would be kind of cool. I just bought Forza 3 and playing it little by little. Still trying to figure out everything I can do.
This might be something I'd be able to develop, I've been playing with the Android SDK and looking for an idea for an application that would be useful but not too difficult for a first real project.
I'm not totally sure how Feuerdog feels about derivative works, it looks like he's ok with them, but I'll probably PM him first to ask, just in case.
No promises, but I'll look into it.
Sounds good! I remember reading a thread where someone asked him about an app for the droid, he didn't have the desire to do it himself but was receptive to the idea of someone else doing it. I looked and looked but couldn't find the thread again.
I've talked with Feuerdog, and he's completely open with the use of his calculations for any type of implementation, so I have the green light from him.
I'll play around with prototyping some of the UI and calculations, see what I can come up with. I'll probably work on getting the math working first, then making it pretty second, since an ugly functional app still does something useful!

and if you could also find me a way to view my leaderboards from my phone you would be my hero im in the top 100 in the world for AWD drifting
Just an FYI there's an app on the market now, ForzaDroid by Thomas Weitzel. Works perfectly and looks like it's using Feuerdog's formulas. Results match up perfectly with the output of the flash application.
Looks like it's the same short of app I was going to be making, glad to see there's one already out there. I'll put mine on hold and not worry about it unless there are problems with ForzaDroid
Got the chance to play with the blackberry playbook and this thing is amazingly fast almost as fast as ipad2. Multitasking is mind boggling i tried running 4 hd videos simultaneously and never had a single hickup. I love the interface a lot better than an ipad and android. Hulu works in the browser as its a full web browsing experience. The lcd screen is as good as the ipad if not better as the color is more saturated the only downside is the fewer apps available. The dual core texas instrument 1ghz processor with parallel multitasking does makes the difference its so much fun to use.

Curious, how does one run 4 HD videos at once?
Seems okay but still think I will opt out for the ipad2 just cause its more well put together tablet and it just works. Like the fact you will be able to run some android apps on it, don't like the fact that you MUST have an blackberry(with the bb data plan) to fully use the tablet at times.

I got the first gen iPad but the lack of full web functionality turned me off after a while. Not being able to view... practically half of the internet because of the lack of flash was a big thing for me. That and the fact that, while it's a great machine and great for what it does, it's kind of limited in what all it can really do.
iOS is boring; to me anyway. And after the initial magic and shine wore off... there was really nothing interesting to do with the device.
Yeah I think I am on the same boat. Ios is very limited. Looking into getting the playbook this weekend.
the camera video quality is awesome
Good,good,good
Indeed it is... Can't wait to get my hands on mine.
If anyone is looking for a tower defense game with a twist I suggest checking out Lonely Turret for the Blackberry Playbook (I know the dev ). I've tried the game out on a simulator and became addicted quickly - looking forward to trying it out on the actual playbook myself. But definitely give it a look if you have a playbook and want a good game.
Intesting. I had only heard bad things about the device until now. I wonder if they'll backpedal on the whole "you need a BB phone" fiasco. It really makes no ****ing sense.

I don't think they'll quite go back on it; doing so would look bad for the company and show Co dimers a big feature they worked hard on just to To can in the end.

So, coming from Blackberry World and posting from my Playbook, RIM has definitively said the Bridge requirement will be gone by mid June. The standalone PIM apps were demo'd multiple times. And, of course, a Sprint LTE version is coming then as well.
No specific date on the Android player yet, although it was demo'd live as well. The Android apps that were shown were brought over without assistance from the original devs and no source required. It's just a repackage of the apk.
This hardware is fantastic and QNX is blazing fast.
Yeah I really like the look of this tablet. Also all of the things that are flaws with it atm, seem to be getting ironed out by RIM soon. The intuitive way RIM have even done the controls for the Android player are awesome. The only thing I'd say is they could have brought it out in a 7" and 10" model just for choice as if you're really looking for compact, you could pickup the 7" but if you're looking at buying it for the media aspect you could just buy the 10". But it's RIM's first tablet so I can see why they only brought out the one size... Now to start saving.
Oh yeah I'm also wondering how RIM are going to handle the updating of Android apps. It would be cool if there was a program made that would convert the apk's to what ever file type is needed for the QNX OS.
Oh and of course, what hacking (if any) is going to be like. All to look forward to.
Sorry for the delayed response
A 10" version is planned. Expect it before the end of the calendar year.
Also, the .bar file format on the Playbook is not much different from a .apk file. It is just a compressed file with some metadata. All the developer has to do is unzip and rezip their current release essentially. I am sure there is a tool in the SDK for developers to rezip their app.
I would imagine it won't be long before an after the fact tool is available to users so they can take an apk from their phone and turn it into a bar file.

Do you know when QNX will be showing up on the smartphones ? I heard OS 7 will be mixed with it ( QNX ).
The Playbook definitely looks tempting, too bad you can't get it here in Australia plus the lack of a 10 incher now means I'm looking for a transformer

Well that's really good to hear. The sadly I haven't had any time to spend with the tablet itself but from what I have seen it looks like a great product.
