can't use data after install?? - Touch CDMA Android Development

Im a newbie here so bare with me. I follwed a tutorial from crobs808 easy step by step to intall android on my vogue to the T , i even used the suggested build on the tutorial.
I was able to make it work and installed everything ok on my device, but my problem now is that i can no longer go online or use my data. I don't know why but i can't surf the web, go on youtube, market, etc. The phone only makes/receives calls and text. My other problem is that when i connect the phone to the usb my pc does not recognize it. Any suggestions? by the way i wanted to switch to the 2.1 build from incubus26j
Thanks for the help.

[Q] Serious major problems with my Milestone

My milestone(Telus; BL 90.74) is pretty much bricked. I tried to do this, but like with everything else I do modding wise I failed horribly. It got to the point to where whenever I tried turning on my phone, it would stay frozen on the M logo. I've wasted my entire day searching from blogs to forums to videos trying to fix this but nothing worked. And now my phone won't even turn on unless I access the bootloader menu.
I know I have to reflash the sbf file, but the thing is my computer no longer detects my phone since the disaster. I'm really frustrated and stressed because of this. I thought doing a factory reset would do something but now all of my data on the phone is gone for nothing.
Can anyone please help? I know there's like 7 threads on this, but none of them help even if I follow the instructions step by step.
have made a backup? to open recovery?

I could try that by putting an official update.zip so the boot loader will accept. Problem is there isn't any updates further to what I have and froyo womn't come anytime soon unless you were referring to something else.

Let me try this. I'm going to bed for now, Ill post results tomorrow.
You can try installing your usb drivers again and try.Since you did not get any error in the bootloader mode, it could be problems with your usb drivers.
Uninstall the usb drivers and reinstall them again. Then try.
BTW, which version of rsdlite are you using?
Helo
Maybe tray this:
- Download an RSD Lite (I use 4.7)
- Download an GOT firmware from: and-developers.com / sbf:milestone (bottom of site)
- Set the phone to bootloader mode
- Start RSD Lite with Administrator permissions
- Connect the phone
- Select the downloaded sbf file
- When U see phone connected click Start
Sorry for my english

Ok, I did everything you said and flashed it with A853_Telus_Firmware_SHOLS_U2_03.10.0__USASHLSMR2TLSB1B2B505F.0R_1FF.sbf. But now it still gets stuck at the moto sign
Edit: I think I might have a solution as I flashed the phone with vulnerable_recovery_only_RAMDLD90_78.sbf which will let me use an update.zip. The only problem is I can't access my memory card and I don't have anything that could at home.
Edit: Ok, I fixed my phone and now it has 2.2.1. Thanks guys, I appreciate the help.

Try unrooting? Maybe flash a new rom/modem/kernel. Use your resources
Take a look at your modem, i'm guess when you flashed in Odin you applied a kernel with a different modem. Happened to me when I rooted the wife's cappy after the AT&T 2.3.5 upgrade. Checked the modem and sure enough it was changed so i just flashed back the stock KK4 kernel and all was good. There's a thread in this section that covers it.
ok is there anyway i could get all the right stuff together that way this will be fixed?...or could someone give me like links to the stuff i need and help me?

You can find a list of i897 modems here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1300843 (second post).
Download the zip, put it on your SD card, and flash it in CWM. You can also push them with Odin, just extract the modem.bin from the zip, put it in the phone slot in Odin, uncheck everything but autoreboot, and flash.
The list is oldish and doesn't have anything newer than KK1, but any of them should work. A quick search should turn up a KK4 flasher as well.

[Q] I think its Bricked..and odin doesnt work

hey guys i have a captivate that i tried flashing and was successful then i tried again and the screen went black. im not sure if my battery died during the process or what but idk what to do. I cant get into recovery mode, i can only get into downloading mode but none of the odin's ive downloaded have recognized my device today. they worked fine yesterday. then i tried "hemidall one click" to try and get it back to stock but no luck. also when i try to power on I get the "Cornkernel" loading screen since that was the kernel i had loaded when it was working, but it fills the bar then shuts off. so it seems like im going to be at the mercy of a computer program since i am unable to access anything on the phone, right? I recently upgraded to gingerbread before all of the flashing of the new roms. all i want is to get back to either froyo or gingerbread, i dont really care, heck ill even take 2.1 at this point. if anyone knows whats going on and can help me thatd be great.
Thanks
Remember to use a rear usb hub for destop and run as admin. Heimdall will mess up your odin drivers.
You may also want to check out the captivate connection issues thread.
Also, to clarify further on prbassplayer's point about Heimdall, it will write its drivers over the drivers assigned to the USB port you are plugged into when it detects your phone. So if you have 4 USB ports and you use port 3 for Heimdall, it would look like this:
1 - Odin port
2 - Odin port
3 - Heimdall port
4 - Odin port
All this means is that you'll need to be aware of the port you used with Heimdall, or just reinstall the odin drivers (they'll overwrite the Heimdall setup).
OK so i tried what you mentioned in that thread on the connection issue and unfortunately it didn't work. is there a way i could start fresh? like delete all the drivers from my computer and then try it again, or do u not think that would work? im open to any ideas/suggestions right now because i hate having an extra paperweight and the thought of buying a new phone.
Don't know if this'll help or even why it worked for me but, when I had problems with odin recognizing my phone, I reinstalled/repaired samsung kies and odin would work for at least one flash.
Note: used full odin (not oneclick)
Good luck
hey guys thanks a bunch i finally got it to work. i had to use a different computer like you said. What a great feeling to have a functional phone again..
Thanks Again!!
So i got the phone back up and running android 2.1 and I would like to get it back to the stock 2.3 I had before the whole mess of rooting and stuff. but when i try to upgrade with kies or straight on the phone it ends up failing and telling me to try it again. any ideas why this is happening? or how to fix it.

Kies sucks lol
look at my sig the first "go to" has the One Click Odin file to get you to stock and rooted 2.3 ...should take no more then 5 mins to do it
the link on that page for the 1 click odin doesnt work.
Try looking >>HERE<<. There are more one clicks there than you will ever need (hopefully)
Thanks I think I might try one of those. But considering what happened earlier in the week i want to clarify/ask a few ?s about that page. How do I know which Gingerbread to use of the 3 listed? How do I know whether or not to click the one with or without the bootloader? I'm new at this with android but I used to flash roms on my old windows mobile htc TILT.

if you have never flashed GB bootloaders, you need to. Just oonce will work from that time forward. After you flash bootloaders, it's best to avoid them. A bad bootloader flash is one of the few things that will turn a Captivate into a paperwight. About which GB to use, I would say KK4. Its the same as the Official KK4 that was released. So to recap, flash bootloaders only once, then use no bootloader packages after that.
Im not sure if I unlocked them or not honestly. I know i had the phone rooted at one point and was running Cerberus rom. is there any way for me to check?
If you don't know, flash them.
ok i apologize in advance if this is a stupid obvious question..i got the odin one click and i was looking at the page u referred to me to and im wondering what the kernel is for? you cant place it in the odin one click obviously so is that just to keep things together or do i actually need it?
The kernel links are just to use if you want to root the stock rom. You have to use full Odin for those. Stick with the one click until you feel more comfortable in flashing AND do a lot research before your next flash.
so i got the KK1 gingerbread working and everything seems to work fine but now my data doesnt work. So I cant get ATT 3g or edge or anything the only internet i recieve is wifi. anyone know why this is? or how to fix it. ive tried a reboot and nothing ive tried changing the settings under network settings.

[GUIDE] How to Install Ice Cream Sandwich on your Rogers P925 (Or fix baseband issue)

Well, after a TON of work, and unsuccessful attempts at getting this, I finally was able to get signal and working data on my phone. I know some people had had trouble with the process, so I'm going to post my guide here to help you all out.
There are two parts to this tutorial. Only one is needed, however, to get ICS to properly work, so find the one that fits your current predicament AND ONLY USE THAT PART OF THE TUTORIAL.
If this is your first time installing the ICS rom...
Follow the LG flashing tool guide that XBSall has linked in his ICS Rom post. You can also find it at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1244490 . However, when you install the ROM, DO NOT USE THE .FLS FILE HE PROVIDES. Instead, download the v18A baseband and install that one with the .BIN file he provides. You can find the v18A baseband here- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1338383 I believe. After you flash the entire thing, you should have ICS! Easy!
If you have the ICS Rom installed now, but have no signal...
This is a bit more complicated, but still very easy. After I flashed ICS, I was not able to flash things using LGFlashTool like I could in GB. This is how I ended up flashing the baseband to fix my issues.
We need to set up your phone to connect with LGFlashTool first. To do this, use XBSall's restore to GB method, located at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1942836 . You will need the OMAP4BOOT files, but you will need nothing else.
Follow his tutorial up until step 6. When he tells you to insert the battery, insert it AS FAST as you can. I messed up on the timing the first few times. Once I saw a greyscale LG logo, and a few other times it just booted normally. Just try again if this happens. Eventually you will get the screenshot in step 9. DO NOT remove the cable when OMAP4BOOT tells you to, as well.
Follow step 10 and 11 of XBSalls restore tutorial, and then follow step 12. When you set up LGFlashTool for the reflashing, simply select the v18A baseband to flash and then start the process. If done correctly, Port 1 should state READY. Repeat steps 3-9 in his tutorial. It will start the flashing process. Once you get an error, close the program, and remove your phones battery and disconnect it from your computer.
Turn on your phone, and receive signal. PROFIT.
Hope this helps you guys out a bit, and remember to hit thanks if this helped you.
you beat me to it lol I was just about to post steps just like this

Baseband Version: XMM6260
Software Version: LGSU760-V30b-OCT-18-2012
Can anyone help? The guide dosent show you how to install the OMAP4430 drivers, but i found out myself how to do it so whatever. Problem is, now "OMAP4430 USB Device" is dissappearing and reappearing over and over again when i boot with volume up. Can anyone shed some light as to how to fix this?
And my phone isnt bricked, i can turn it on right now and everything.
EDIT: Found the problem, you need to hold VolUp after OMAP4430 pops up. Funny, it says in the guide to let go when it pops up. Fixed my mistake though.

I'm currently trying to get ICS installer on my rogers P925. Now, I can't get it to boot in fastboot even using OMAP4boot I don't really understand when I need to insert fast the battery... OMAP4boot doesn't seem to get my phone...

Sorry, maybe I wasn't clear enough, but my phone boots now, it's only I had to flash it with the O3D fls file and not the .fls I was supposed to use so I get a working ICS without any network.
Now that i'm trying to complete step 2 to get te right baseband, i can't get the phone to boot in download mode even using OMAP fasboot flash. the software just don't say anything appart from "waiting for phone".
So I was wondering if I was doing anything wrong

it's almost the 10th time I follow the guide step by step by step... I think or i'm always doing wrong something or it's something else with my phone... I may have misconfigured one port but i do NEVER NEVER at all in the process see OMAP4430 device in my device manager.. so the little windows tool is not doing anything... maybe if someone wanna teamviewer they can see for themselves what it gives.
Wahoo, ICS + network
finally found that there was the correct driver for my computer in the omap4boot folder and not in everyother one I was installing, flashed with the guide after i found this driver and everything works fine
only thing i'm struggling is to set apns to get 3G any tricks?
Do a Google search for AT&T 4G APN (or whoever our carrier is). You can also create an APN with the word "phone" in the first two blanks, name and APN (I think), and it should give you access to 3G and HSPA. I hit 6.7mbps on Speed Test.

Can't flash, update, add account, connect to computer

So my tab 8.9 has been working flawlessly, with a bit of a anomaly and I factory reset to trying to install a new rom on it.
After a factory reset, I could not do the following:
Can`t install any new apps (The play store is nowhere to be found, only very old market is there which doesn`t work
Can`t update (Computer won`t recognize, yes installed and reinstalled kies, samsung drivers, etc none worked. Tried wifi, changing ip settings, all doesn`t work: It shows up as Modem and I can`t do anything with it)
Can`t add account (After resetting many times, it never asks me to add an account like it normally should, nor can I add them manually. No workaround that worked so far, tried adding via email adding, etc, on setting button add account does nothing)
Can`t flash (Odin, CWM both doesn`t work, Odin says not supported and CWM just crashes before it even starts, Can`t flash via PC as I cannot connect to it)
It CAN connect to wifi, run the old stock browser, and transfer apps apk via USB connect port I have. Thankfully it still works. I connect a thumb drive to the tab and transfer files that way.
So how can I fix this
I would just like to flash ICS of any version OR even just make it work normally via stock update.
On a side note, I`m not sure if all tab does this but mine when I`d try to connect to a wifi at a college, it`d show multiple wifi and won`t connect to any, while my laptop shows just one wifi.

Tried wifi, changing ip settings, all doesn`t work: It shows up as Modem and I can`t do anything with it)

you mentioned that your tab's model is SHW-M305W
so this probably why you can't install any ROM
ammmm you know what I actually installed a stock Samsung P7310 framework on my P7300 through odin
but couldn't install P7320's ROM cuz P7310 is closer to my tab in everything
my point is if you'd like, you should try different ROMs for different models
BUT BE CAREFUL THIS MIGHT BREAK YOUR DEVICE, I'M NOT RESPONSIBLE
have you tried to flash this ROM [ROM][ICS][STOCK][P7300/P7310][LQJ/LPV][Deodexed/Odexed] Final Build [14/1/14] D-Host
I'm suggesting it because it doesn't have model check before flashing, so you won't face status 7 while installing

I see!!! Thanks for the best answer ever. Good to know someone knows about this.
I tried to flash that exact one but I couldn't even start because Odin or CWM or PC method doesn't seem to work.
I searched but I couldn't really find a way to flash via just factory reset or from a usb stick.
How could I flash? Odin says unsupported version, telling me to do something I forgot for half an hour and rom manager just crashes on start.
I'll do that as soon as I can find a way to actually flash just via factory reset perhaps.

Uhh, Well I just installed it via rooting and then downloading superuser apk and rom manager apk and then loading it on to USB stick
then I installed the app but it seemed to crash.
It was the latest version of the rom manager or what the quick google search showed me.
I'm starting to think that it must be this SHW model's fault that it's not responsive to any conventional method.
I really would try to flash some other way if you or anyone could tell me how, that'd be excellent because it seems the only methods of flashing new roms on it seems like Odin, CWM, PC.
Thank you as always for even remotely giving any attention at all. I greatly appreciate it and I'd do it for you.

omg I'm so sorry for the late reply and I see that your account is disabled??
Hopefully I can get some response oh man.
I don't know any way to flash, if you could give me a way to flash these ones, I'll try them.
Odin says incompatible and rom manager crashes
If you could link me a way to flash somehow, I'll apply that method with your referred roms
Thanks a LOT
