Windows mobile have its own "theme management" in setting there is an option for Today Plugins etc...
on HD2 is HTC Sense as default, and its one hefty plugin...
so as newer WM6.5.X Carousel/titanium
I'm wondering if someone can make Windows Phone 7 look-a-like plugin that will make home screen to look like WP7, without installing WAD2, Throttle Launcher, SPB etc...
just an idea, i thought using something that part of an OS may make it run smoother...
i found this, but its a bit messy and confusing to use... even on HD2 large screen everything appears to be cramped together...
RE:
Soon, very soon- been working on it the last few days when iv managed time, lemme insert some quick icons over the place holders and get at least a screen worth of panels decent looking and ill post some screens late tonight/early tomorrow!
Could use some help with accessing, displaying, selecting multiple contacts in titanium if anyone can help!
i can help u with testing, reporting bugs, hosting files (rapidshare and few other hostings), any graphic editing.... but im useless in programming if that what u mean by help
let me know if i can help in any way other then code writing/editing....
looking forward to ur release

Gwahh! Lame i know
Totally suffered the sprint diamond screen splitting from the digitizer, plus had to wait to get paid to fix, struggling student and its my only web, blah blah (more excuses i know )
anyways, here are the screen, disappointing i know, but editing most of it through word mobile on the phone i dont think is half bad-
nice progress
is the image actually displaying where it shuld ?
do the phone, messeging etc have count on the when recive sms, missed call etc...
whant to share a beta ?
also off topic, what do u do it in ? Visual Studio ?
i also notice u editing Carousel/titanium i think, would it not be more functional to do it as from scratch ? ( i know it prob a lot harder, but it would allow you to have more features in future releases, maybe facebook integration one day lol...)
but keep up the good work...
P.S.
PM me, i want to know how can a start learning programming for WM and piratically today plug-ins, what tools i will need etc...
PM me you MSN or Skype if u dont mind.
i done A-level Computing and know a little bit (very little) of Visual Basic, and (unfortunately) having to learn Java for my Uni course.

This looks pretty awesome already. Esp if it's just a theme for today plugin. Kudos on the hard work. I look forward to trying this out
here's a "stand-alone" WP7 theme

working already but still a little laggy on my X1. very promising though

soo is this available as an update
if that was a real sales pitch count me out - a poor attempt to try and mimic the iPhone, they should innovate like their slogan instead of following behind.
Only new feature is the zoom - but honestly how many use your pda as a camera/picture viewer. Now if they also upgraded the camera so as to be on par with nokia's lens' and the n95's spec then I would agree with the R&D in this area.
forgot about the rotate feature...something tells me it would be easier to press the rotate soft key.....
overall you can tell that I am not happy with this upgrade. Sure it can't do no harm but I think that their time could have been spent researching new features yet to be seen by Windows Mobile.
how about a cube like this on your herald?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1552994&postcount=292
that cube looks pretty nice...lovin the skin. I am actually working on my own cube, trying to make a 6 sided cube (although i'm startin to think it will become quite aggravating to find a side quickly if you are in a rush...whaddya think) with some custom animations. recently inspired to make it into a matrix theme.
not sure if you have seen this thread but it makes it quite simple. YOu should try and implement it into your kaiser port
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=325424
and btw in regards to the first post the gurus over at pocket cm seemed to have pretty much mimic most of the features from the new touchflo in their pocketcm picture viewer. Give em some time and it will be better than HTC's version, im sure of it.
I know of that link. thats where i got the one i posted
I am folowing that thread to see if there is anything I want to use.
BTW. having more "sides" on the cube is ok idea, but making one that wont kill memory is a tough one my brother in law is a compter programmer, and im talking with him about a multisided cube, maybe there is coming something cool from that part in a while but no promises
about the kaiser port, we will see, first I have to make it work flawless before thinking about what to put in it.
sounds good, keep us all posted on any future developments.
as for the original topic...we all know HTC use Qualcomm chipsets in the past. Maybe with this new deal of AMD liscensing the new graphics technology introduced in the xbox360 (Unified Shader Architecture) to Qualcomm, we should be able to be able to have the memory from the animations use a dedicated graphics card (graphics card in ppc is not new -i think the flame has one)....just imagine OpenGL 2.0 running ported on a pocket pc. Possibilities are unimaginable right now. I think this is where HTC's R&D money should be going....but for all I know its already in the making...one can only hope
yeah that would be a giant step forward.
Im hoping its not so, but im afraid they will take tiny mouse steps forward, just so they can sell more phones.....they know we are addicted, and will buy.....lol

yeh for sure, its proven already that they only include one maybe two major upgrades per phone. Much more profitable marketing scheme. Just gotta know which phones to get, the people who purchase the Tytn II are going to be getting a pretty good phone that should b around for long. Where as a phone like the HTC Touch will get outdated pretty quick (Touch Dual already in production.) I'm sure when phones begin to be released with graphics cards built in they will surely only make them w/o keyboards, then another one with keyboard...then some "New and Improved Graphics Card" that doesn't waste as much battery (which they probably had from the begining.)
I guess you just gotta know to wait for the last one...

Guess the whole cube thing is useless. all of these skins mean nothing - when you use your device, and not just flicking this cube back and forth for hours
Sweet looks cool. I would love that for my phone. When will ver 2 be out? I have a problem with touthflo. I can use the cube once then if i try again it wont load. It just flips up then flips away. I have to soft reset the phone to use it again. Is there a fix for this? I have this prob with any touchflo rom. Even my mda with touchflo does this.

as far as i understand, TouchFlo contains not only Сube. As for me - i want only finger scrolling. And it is still imperfect
Well...for those of you techs who haven't yet found out. Ver. 2 of TouchFlo has been leaked per Engadget. The images look pretty sweet! I have attached a link to the article from Engadget and a download link from HTC Insider that supposedly has the new version. I'm no programmer so I'm posting it here so hopefully one of you geniuses can get it working for testing on the wing. Let me know if any of you come up with something. Thanks!

Edit:After further reading it is still in development. Well....at least we can get a glimpse for whats coming. I did find some people that got it working but only in VGA mode.
Seems like its still in development stage and not complete yet. No point installing it.
Regards,

On Polaris there is alreaddy a Touchflo2 version. But as some other apps from different chips - this is also not working on herald - at the moment...
is it still a cube????? that has like how many 'sides' now? it looks like it's a slider instead.. but i like my cube, even if i don't use it that often hehe.
uggh.. i'm gonna have to change all my blackish charcoaly colors to have whhhooooole lot more white to match.... :'(
meh, I'll install it now and see how it goes...
Damn, its a 10 meg install...
Gotta do clear-storage...
won't run. oh well.
So far reviews show it to be EXTREMELY slow on the few devices that it does run on. It's probably alpha software for a hardware accelerated phone.

this might be a little off topic , but is there a way to get the NEW manila on an OMNIA 2 ?
Im a huuuge HTC fan but right now im runing the Samsung UI and i hate it lol ,, stupid wigets ,, could ig et the HTC UI?
here's a relatively off-topic question...
why did they call it manila? hopefully someone can satisfy my curiosity with the name!
Just saw this on Engadget, and figured everyone here will be interested in this. A swiss company made a user interface for all WM devices that emulates the look and feel of the iPhone interface. This company also tried to add "multitouch-ish" functions to the WM devices by simulating multi touch features while displaying photos and web pages. .
Looks pretty cool so far and it has potential. The article states that it will be available for download in May.

I am currently using SPB Mobile Shell but am willing to check out all other UI apps out there and this one looks promising.
looks very good. hope this will commin soon for us
its best iphone copy i´ve ever see
cant wait it
Looks good actually. I'll be keeping a watch on them as well as here for a download.
iZoom looks promising as well, even if Swish isn't available when Zoom is released.
This look sick , very sick. Ive never seen any iphone clone this much fluidy

Update 03/May/2008:
We would like to thank everyone for their support and for Joining our Beta program. We have received over 2000 requests and we will be breaking them into 3 tiers with an increasing number of Beta tester in each one. The tier 1 will be selected late this week and will only be about 10 people, if things go well then late the following week we will expand to 100 and before months end over 1000.
Lastly to answer the number one question we have had, yes we do plan to start testing the iSwish development kit in the next 30 days. This will allow any designer to add iswish capabilities to their own windows mobile/PPC/CE applications. If you are a developer and interested in beta testing this please e-mail us at “[email protected]” with the subject “iSiwsh development environment Beta” and your company, name and current development environment.

True with iZoom...dualtouch is now possible on a singletouch interface. Look at the youtube video just above my post...they even installed dualtouch on a 6yr old device.
I guess it's a kind of dualtouch, though it seems that one point has to remain fixed when in this mode. Still could be quite useful I'm sure.
Looks promising but overall I think the idea is silly - I would of just bought an iPhone

ok so just by one then...
you will end up with no GPS, MMS, Video recording, Bluetooth, SD slot, 3G etc etc etc
you will have a phone with a nice screen...thats is...I like the iphone but I dont like the actual phone....feel me ?
Exactly. The iPhone is nice looking, smooth, sleek and shiny, the Kaiser is big heavy and some have said ugly. But compare the features. The iPhone is a million miles away.
I briefly considered the iPhone before I got my Kaiser and I made the right choice. The clincher for me was the commercialism surrounding the iPhone. Too many people have jumped on the bandwagon and it's just not that cool anymore. Personally I don't think it ever was - a phone for show-offs who just want to impress people. The Kaiser is different. It may not look the best and the WM interface may not be to everybody's liking. But it can be a SatNav or a GameBoy, a notepad or a Webcam. The possiblilities are almost endless. And if you really can't live without the iPhone's inteface, you don't have to look far to get something similar, or even better.
Anyway, off topic, but that's my rant. I feel better now...

I agree completely, but after buying an iPhone and using it for a week or so, I really loved the interface. I love the screen and how easy it is to navigate through everything. The browser is ten times better than PIE, and although you can get Opera or Skyfire, on the 2.8" screen they are still really difficult to use. In the end I chose to keep my kaiser over the iphone because I couldn't get used to typing without a hardware keyboard, but in all honesty I really loved the iphone interface.

Hello Beta Tester,
We will have an update for you later this week on iSwish, but I thought I would point you all to the new video one of our developers posted last night showcasing the iZoom in full multi-touch with an interesting twist at the end. There was a measure of disbelief in its authenticity, so we hope this clears that up.

Ok, ... here we go...
After several years wasting my time trying to modify, tuneup, accellerate, reorganize, customize and personalize my windows mobile devices (Xda Neo, Xda Orbit, Xda Terra) it is time to say goodbye to my one month old Xda Diamond...
It doesnt seem that microsoft will ever accept that their windows mobile is, ... just a windows 1.0 with better optics. no todayscreen replacement, tf3d, tf2d, spb ms, winterface, tochcommander has made things easier, just harder, slower and even more useless.
I thought, wow, as i heard about the new HTC Touch Diamond, waited 1 month for delivery and there it was, my Diamond, wonderful tf3d, opera, gsensor,...
Slow keyboard, Windows Mobile 6.1 (no OS), slow TF3d, slow Email, hard to use interface, and last but not least a (WOW) 900mAh battery, ... that enables me to use my Diamond ONE day! WOW again, and thank you HTC.
A main desire of human being is to cutomize, to PERSONALIZE their phone, to make it YOUR phone! When you look at a diamond you'll see the light breaking into many colors , ... when you look at your diamond you'll see BLACK and WHITE. Customizable STARTSCREEN, wooooooooho with a colorful background wallpaper, thats all.
I was expecting a wonderful , powerful multimedia mobile phone, great gaming capabilities like the iphone or something, ... but, whats there? WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER MOBILE, and OPERA, thats all... a slow camera, a slow HTC Album, a useless Streaming Media Client, MOSTLY unsupported games for NATIVE VGA resolution...
Good bye Diamond,
Good bye HTC,
Good bye Microsoft Windows Mobile 5,6,6.1,
Good bye TF3D,
Good bye NO great games,
Good bye XDA Developers Forum << you should be proud of yourselves, because it is YOU who are trying to improve these devices, ... and god damn, ... its hard work!

I have to wonder why you even considered a diamond tbh..
you should get an iPhone
Nokia 1911 >>>> all
Surely you cant customise an E71 as much as a WM Device anyway?
I had an E71 for a while for work......My only comment on the device is "thank god i have a HTC Device!"
Are there people who hate the tf3d interface who don't realise that you can turn it off and then customise the homescreen on the device more than pretty much any other OS ?
thanks for your replies, ... dont forget please, i'm just sharing my thoughts in non-perfect english. I dont except that everyone thinks what i think.

my messegae in the upcming weeks would be: ***bye bye my little Diamond - Hello Touch HD***
well well. Nokia is great for phone. HTC = phone = ****. HTC for customize. I like it. Some kind of killing my time to upgrade, check website, upgrade and upgrade until the time I said. I have a life now. Than I'm going to say goodbye HTC.
Again
HTC = phone = **** ( sorry to say that )
HTC = killing my boring time = yes
Hey, It's the same thing I said when I ditched my ROKR E2 and bought an a1200, but then again... I found motorlafans, and couldn't help it... it's too good to be left alone.
Then it came to me that I REALLY needed some good phone for office business (which the A1200 performed well, but lacked wifi and 3G... and syncing was a hassle). When the iPhone came out, I said «nice, pretty... but it doesn't fit my philosophy...» which is customization... not only for themes and etc. but for speed, performance and suiting needs.
I saw the first iPhone killers and said, no way. But then the Diamond appeared: small, nice, useful... then I started researching the Touch (the first one) and discovered this site...
Seeing all the possibilities, I said: What the hell! Let's roll with HTC, the mother and father of 80% of OEM handsets that took a leap and started selling their own stuff, and with great design and TRUE innovation.
BUT, the Touch wouldn't be up to the cut: too much third party apps to make it run like I THOUGHT it should...
XPERIA made its teaser trailers, and I went numb... but it was a promise of long delays, Sony branding and a lot of zeroes on the pricetag.
The Diamond turned into a bliss... beyond all the iPhone wannabes, beyond usability paradigms, I remember thinking «WOW, that's a smart way of arranging a Home Screen, without clutter, with access to all the basics upfront, just like a superphone with a Clark Kent/Superman switch... (in reference to the TouchFlo3D taking all the basics to a new level and letting the powerhorse to sit in the back and enjoy the ride)».
Whence I've got it, I found that the TF3D needed some tweaking. I thought what I always think in such ocations: THIS CAN BE BETTER, SO WHY CAN'T HTC RELEASE IT ALREADY TWEAKED???
But then again, I'm now swapping for a US version, and the rollercoaster will start again... I'm positive that the same tweaked roms can be used with the same efficiency...
Time will tell. . .

now i have to agree on this one, HTC should tweaked some of windows registry before releasing it. for example, didnt they try the device when you try to reply an sms??? you could barely read your own message with that ONE line reply window
average consumer dont know what to do with this kind of problem, all they have in their mind is ''What the hell is this???''
heck we even need an unknown 3rd party app to adjust this small problem.
HTC please TEST your device before releasing it
It might be just mine, cause I use the fonts just one point above the minimum... but mine's got 2 lines... it's easier and the high res screen does a great job rendering minuscule fonts...

and how does the e71 help there? I believe the e71 is even less customizable and has even less games available for it.
Is there an Iphone Rom for the wizard??? Ive only found programs that change different things seperately - like the dialer, contacts - and stuff like that. Is there any complete ROMS out there which emulate the iphone or something close to it?
Id put up a poll to see the number of people who's be looking for an iphone rom but i don't really know how to do that
yeah me too eagerly waiting for such type of rom.......
sounds like a nice idea, but to be honest most of the (iphoney) mods are kinda slow on the wizard, especially ifonz which does look very nice.
so you would probably end up with a rom ythat was quite slow and not much space left.
justmy 2c though
Try out Winterface. Find yourself a nice clean VANILLA rom without all the M2D or HTC Home horse****, download Winterface and give it a shot. It's a paid program, but it's only $16.95 to unlock once your 2 week trial expires. If you like the iPhone UI though, you'll like Winterface.
I've seen a few of them here and there but along with the other comments the general conscencus that ive read was that while they were pretty they were also slow. There was a nice little contact manager that ovvered the same neat finger/scrolly flip action but i cannot remember the name off of the top of my head. I think i'll go do a search and see if i can come up with it. And give it another chance.
Shane
Sure the programs are slow tht emulate iphone UI but if properly built into a rom like HTC stuff is done i hope it would work fine. Lets hope a Rom cook drops by here and we get smthin!!!
That program was called pocketCM. You can get it from www.pocketcm.com It has a few iPhone styled themes available. Might get you closer to where you're wanting to be without a rom.
Shane
This is what I've been looking for too!!!! Somebody with the ability, make it happen for 2009.
It looks like someone is undertaking this task and it looks very promising. He seems to be open to suggestions.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=472454
Why would anyone want the iPhone rom? I have a friend who has an iPhone and my wizard with a 2 year old WM6 will kick the iPhone's butt any day of the week. Yes the iPhone has prettier stuff, but I'd rather take substance over style any day of the week. And with Skyfire browser, I can surf like mad. The roms I know of that are somewhat close are resource hogs and leave very little space for any apps. No thanks, not for me. You guys have fun. When a rom comes out that is as stylish as the iPhone, but kicks butt like my Jaguar, then I may consider it.
On second thought...
Actually, thinking about it, just to shut up idiots who paid way too much for an iPhone, this would be cool. Then I can say that my 3 year old phone does the same and looks the same as your loser iPhone, and since my phone isn't on lock-down, I can add or change anything about it at will.
