free voice commander for MDA

hey guys,
im new to this phone, i just got it a few days ago, i want to install the voice commander 1.6. anyone know where i can get the free version?? anyone willing to share their copy of it?
also, i have the BTAudio, smartskey and magic button installed, any suggestions for MUST have programs.....
again, FREEE PROGRAMS PLEASE!!!!

No, no harm in asking but it rubbed me SO much the wrong way I just had to laugh at it, especially since it's also posted, almost verbatim, in howardforums. Ole one-post probably didn't bother reading a thing on either site since it takes what, 30 seconds to find a freeware thread, doesn't want to pay for software for his big shot expensive phone, expects whomever to steal it for him, goes by "thug" and what does any of this have to do with upgrading anything? now this is what i call a warm welcome!! Stepping into a realm of what i thought was a brotherhood of telephone-techies that would have shared the wealth of knowledge and technologies (including but not limited to software) and instead i walked into the shadows of bashers and homo-erotics (four letter words and iron rods buddy??) A simple, "sorry, we dont ask for "free" software in this forum mr new guy" post would have not only made its point, but would have lead to a more focused & productive discussion. This is a hobby, a new one at that and i am learning, just like all of you have learned at one point. I guess some people feel a sense of power by flaming newbies in forums, so with that, FLAME on with your iron rods and 4 letter words while i enjoy my newly acquired "free software" that you paid $40 bucks for.

no one said we paid for our software either.. there are plenty of resources to getting the software, filesharing, websites, etc... but for the integrity of the board we do not discuss it, this is not a warez site
Also we were not flaming the newbie but merely instructing you that if you plan on being an active member of this site and community then you need to adhere to certain rules or be banned, its up to you.
Next time look around on these boards before posting.. if you would have looked you may have noticed that there are no discussion's on warez

Rewriting Wiki - Taking requests

I'm rewriting the Atlas (Wing) and maybe the Herald Wiki's. (Yes, the atlas is a herald variation.)
I'm taking requests on what people think should be in it.
I might expand it with a full blown "how to cook" with screenshots... but it won't be any time soon due to time restrains.

How to customize the cube
How to customize HTC Home
How to customize the Touch Dialer
How to create a package from a cab file
How to enable touchflo
All these sound non device specific, though... aside from maybe the NBH one... So I might make some general wiki's...

There isn't an actual "WING" wiki is there? At least not as far as I know??
It would definitely be a GREAT idea to rewrite the WIKI and include information pertinent to each device separately.
I'll give you a hand if you'd like. That way we can set it up as a sticky topic and include all information there for newbies, so we can send them all there to get educated on everything.
I would suggest splitting up the work between a couple of people to type up different aspects of the WIKI and then in the end put them all together. It would make things easier, and that way its not just one person having to do the whole thing... and with different people typing up different things, they can pay more attention to detail. Just a thought.

There's already a Atlas wiki (wing) and a Herald wiki. I wouldn't mind the help. There's a lot of subject matter to cover. I think we should mirror the information minus a few extra details that's device specific. That way no one can cry about there not being one for the Wing. lol

Let's start a "master list" of everything that needs to be covered and go from there ... that way we can start dividing up the WIKI into how it needs to be formatted. So kind of like an outline

If they answer something that's been answered in the wiki, we'll just link to the wiki and not say a word more. Maybe add a "read wiki first or get suspended" after the first warning. lol j/k I just feel like updating it. Especially to add a lot of more advanced info that people PM me about all the time.

and i guess there are many noobs who come here and read.... and many know that we will answer wuestions and that we still will help if help needed....
... we won´t get angry if people ask question - BUT sometimes the sticky or even normal post are very near to their eyes BUT new post are still opened....
e.g. "Not WM6.1 yet?" and the thread regarding a new WM6.1 rom is called "Even more Tease" ... only 2 post above - but didn´t realized....

Convince me to try a cooked ROM

Well I got my first tilt the day it was released, had it until Christmas when I got an iphone. The iphone was cool until the "cool" factor wore off. Sold it unlocked for $500 on eBay the night before the new one was announced LOL, anyway I purchased another tilt because of the usefulness of the phone. I have had it for 3 weeks and am still debating whether to try a cooked rom or not. I typically text on the device, I will most likely get the $15 dollar unlimited data plan and from there will use the 3g internet frequently and get email ever couple of hours.....why should I use a cooked ROM.
I feel confident flashing it but Im worried about the Radio's and what ROMS come with them or dont.
Currently Im using the ATT ROM w/o all the BS they try to install for you. It works....that's about all it does atm.

Don't do it man. Once you start flashing, it will never stop. Much like the tale of Goldilocks, you will end up looking for the one that is 'just right'. This usually means finding the closest fit and tweaking it to your needs. This or cooking one of your own.
P.S. My hat is off to the cooks out there. I have barely scratched the surface on cooking my own, and it is a daunting amount of knowledge and wisdom to absorb.

You'll find a good cooked rom is 100x faster than the ATT rom.

In addition to being against forum etiquette, it also clutters the forum and very much frustrates the people who are actually doing rom development. Just try it and see if you like it. The danger is very, very, very small if you're flashing correctly. Flashing 2, 3 or even 6 roms in a night won't hurt.
Also, read the appropriate thread for the answer to the radio question.

Why should you use a cooked rom? Because the raw ones will give you salmonilla poisioning.

The addiction wears off once you release 20+ ROMs of your own to the public for the same device. I guarantee that you'll be visiting this place alot less...
That is until you get your next new toy, which will make you use someone else's ROM that didn't quite meet your needs, so you wind up making your own ROM again and the cycle begins anew

Believe me you DON'T want to use a cooked ROM. AT&T knows how to make quality stuff. You don't wantsome hackers to have claimed to make it better.

Hate to tell you this but...you'll need to search awhile and do some homework.
By no means am I saying that this Forum won't help you...it most certainly will, I'm only saying that there are others with this experience and threads with resolutions.
Do a search on black screen, and look into Oli's 1.70.Olinex radio associated with it...I think you'll get on the right track.
If you find the path and get lost while on it, there are plenty of pthers that will help you get back on track...but there are alot of questions and only so much time.

And as far as time...all (okay most) of these guys and gals are pretty spread out on that as well.

I've seen very similar issues running around the Forum...I don't know the exact answer of the top of my head but I know I've seen it...I'd have to search as well to find it.

I think I've narrowed it down for you...
Did a search on "black screen unlocker" and these are the VERY FEW threads that showed up.

A couple are dead ends...sort of, for you anyway...but there's at least one that gets you SERIOUSLY on the right path...think it was Sim Lock by n3xt.
Follow his plight and where it took him...since it may not be EXACTLY what happened to you there are other threads it points to to keep you on YOUR path.
When...okay, my bad...IF you get stuck, provide us with info as in those examples and we can better help unstick you...you may find that you get this one sorted on your own tho
Also, you might want to go out and find the threads on getting you 'back to factory', try those, get it running again and start over...remember, the SIM and CID Unlocker is [OPTONAL]!
Otherwise, if you're game for it, keep on the path...I think you'll be fine.
Best I can do for now, I've still got my OWN issue with 'bad blocks' and a seemingly bricked Tilt @ http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=508100

You may also want to try asking this question in mskips thread on flashing for noobs. Not sure what happened during your flash, but it definetly sounds like you may have missed a step in the process.

Just find your original rom in the wiki and reflash that. After that put your phone in bootloader and see where you are at in the unlocking process.

either flash ur original radio, or flash a 6.1 rom

Try holding down the camera button and then hold in the soft reset button. Does the tricolour screen come up? If so does it say anything at the top of it Like SPL-1.0 OliPof? If it does at least it means the SPL is loaded, if that is the case dl the stock ROM for your supplier i.e. AT&T, T-Mobile etc.
Rename the ROM (Large file) KAISIMG and put it onto your SD card, do the step above to get it into the Tricolour screen again and it should try and reinstall the stock ROM, if it does follow the on screen instructions.
This may work, Im kinda a newbie at this and only had my Kaiser for 2 weeks, but I have flashed the ROM like 20x to get one I like.
The main reason Im saying use your suppliers Stock ROM is if its still locked then using that one may fix the prob, then run the Sim unlocker.

man, pay 20eur to revskills, it´s completly worthy it! QMAT is something we use constantly, and full version is very cheap.
I´ll generate it for you, but consider giving the programmer something for his efforts.

I really DON'T wanna pay 20 for QMAT. Very few people will pay €20 just to flash a stock rom, specially knowing that HSPL will probably be out before too long.
QMAT is full of powerful features that I won't ever use, but I would like to flash a stock HTC rom to my Vodafone Pro2. There are other people in the same position as me.
I might pay €1 or so for a simple program that allows me to flash a stock ROM to tide me over before HSPL is finished, but €20 is way beyond what this is worth to me.
I wonder if there would be any chance of the developer / someone else releasing a simple, maybe device specific 'goldcard generator' program for people like me (and others on this forum) who want to flash a stock rom, but don't want to buy QMAT? Would anyone else here like that?
Such a product would be useful for any new device prior to HSPL being released.

i dont have a available card to pay in any "international website", my credit card just supports domestic website in china....but QMAT is a foreign web for me. got it?

In China, you can easily have a bank card(debit card) and use it for online payment only for Chinese site(Union Pay). But difficult (for students) to have a VISA/Master card that can be used for internationl payment/donation.

I do not agree with that. Remember that you should support the software makers or no more releases. Programming is a time consuming job, I know that. If everyone supports the programmers, better software can come outside. I will for sure bought the licence for me. Also the program makes a lot more that install roms.
