Windows 7 Netbook Edition Build 7264 x86 - Shift Development

Just FYI ive got the touchscreen working on this striped down version of a RC branch build of 7. Its very snappy and memory usage is down to 400MB after booting and it takes up 4GB of HDD space.
Id definitely recommend it to anyone with a shift, To get the touchscreen working set the Tablet PC and Human Interface Device Access services to automatic startup at first boot
Enjoy, Don't ask about where to find it or how to activate it or things that would get this thread deleted as its a must have for all shift users.

Is everything working ok? Wifi, shift control center, screen resolution?

Same as usual yeah it only takes up 4GB of disk space

Ok, thanks. I'll try.

Seems the only problem i could find is Office 2010 not installing because of error 1903, It can be fixed by copying the c:\windows\fonts folder from another instalation and not overwriting whats already there

Thanks for the find kashifsiddique!
I'm currently downloading this Build 7264 x86 I was wondering how big is the fonts folder? Would it be possible to post a link just in case other don't have another windows installation.
Looks like the fonts folder is about 350MB. I'll just back this folder up that I have before I reinstall. =)
Thanks again!

andriod develoment
If I am correct there are 2 developments, andriod and windows, both have different pages
I think you can get more help if you put it in the andriod development page
oh, it is a great job
1 question: is it possible to run it from internal storage? I have Transcend Class 6 card which can't run Linux from
i don't think so,but i'm gonna try it tonight and i will also post the pics and the video!
If there is a dailer /message tool i will def try it .Have tried off storeage card before but was missing a couple of files, unpacked it wrong. I did "split" my card in two, one FAT and one ext2 partition. It was with the ubuntu for omni i belive.
you dont have to split it anymore you can run it through sd card directly.
there is no dialer for ubuntu right now, i'm gonna find a way to make it possible by developing a new one after finishing my exams,or by porting the android one!
@ZaxXx: running ubuntu from internal storage doesn't work for me!
My wifi doesn't work... I've already updated startup.txt with my HD mac adress but it doesn't seems to ok... Does it work with anyone else?
I'm surprised with the speed
The taskmanager says that the cpu usage is: 95% and memory 33MB of 102MB used...

=====================================
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=852937
1 - Grab the "zImage and Module's" download
2 - Grab the "all 3d drivers and gralloc" download
3 - Grab the "build.2.prop. and froyo.user.conf.zip"
Extract the 3 following files from the downloaded files into the main directory of your SD card
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- libGLES_qcom.so
- gralloc.msm7k.so
- build.prop
Just edit "froyo.user.conf" and add these 3 commands below.(Should be close to the end of this file, located in your (android dir)\CONF\ directory"
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
mount bind/sdcard/libGLES_qcom.so /system/lib/egl/libGLES_qcom.so
mount bind/sdcard/gralloc.msm7k.so /system/lib/hw/gralloc.msm7k.so
mount bind/sdcard/build.prop /system/build.prop
Finally, unzip the "zImage" and "modules.xxxxx" files you downloaded also in your main android directory, (replacing zImage when asked, and deleting your previous module.xxxxx file)
Then, download the 2 APK file's, "fps2d" and "com.adobe.air.xx" file, and try installing them within Android (double click on the file's within Android), run fps2 3 time's to get a good average.)
Hope this is helpful, that's me!! The more user's we get to help this, making it easy to understand and follow, the more we can help your progress with this.
will test in a bit, thanks for link.
It appears that this isn't compatible with the phone (AT&T Pure) it hangs whatever application tries to use the 3d driver.
edit- nevermind, seems to be functional, speed increase isn't really that noticeable though.
edit2- problem is file was named .so.so in original zip, mount path only includes .so

[Guide] Building your own ICS ROM on 64-bit Windows 7

Please note that this is a guide to how to setup an environment to create your own ROM, and to build a test AOSP ICS Rom that will work on an emulator. While it is possible to do all this in 32-bit Win 7, you will find it much (!) easier in 64-bit Win 7. The intention is to allow all the folks who have said they'd like to work on a ROM to get their feet wet. If you complete all the steps in this guide you will have a Vanilla ICS Rom that works in the Android Emulator. You would still need to modify the kernel for the Tegra and add the special radio and other drivers before porting to the Streak.
Of course you can skip step 4 if you are willing to either dual-boot Ubuntu, or go into Ubuntu full time. However I figure a lot of folks on here are still on Windows for one reason or another.
1) Make sure that the ROM for your Windows 7 computer is set to allow Virtualization. If you have a Core i7 this will be the default. Otherwise you will need to make sure to set it manually through the Setup that should come up before BOOT.
2) Download VirtualBox 4.1.8
DL Link here for VB:
http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/4.1.8/VirtualBox-4.1.8-75467-Win.exe
DL Link here for VB Extensions (necessary for USB, shared folders, etc):
http://download.virtualbox.org/virt...alBox_Extension_Pack-4.1.8-75467.vbox-extpack
3) Download Ubuntu 11.04 64-bit
DL Link here:
http://www.ubuntu.com/download/ubuntu/download
Make sure (!) to select the 64-bit version before clicking download
4) Install VirtualBox and Ubuntu:
Install and Setup Guide:
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorial...ndows-7-virtual-machine-using-virtualbox.html
(Note that some of the images from this guide are from an earlier version of Ubuntu)
I personally recommend that as long as you have at least a Quad Core that you give your VB machine Two Cores and Two Gigs of RAM. For the HD size of your Virtual HD remember that the Android Source Code is almost 16 Gigs. For speed and other purposes I suggest creating a fixed size 80 Gig (or larger) Virtual HD. While this can be on an external drive, if you have room on an internal drive that will also improve performance.
5) Install the Toolchain (Android Build Environment):
http://mjanja.co.ke/2011/11/building-android-4-0-on-ubuntu-11-10/
The first three steps will take between 1-2 hours. Step 4 will take an hour or so as well. Step 5 takes multiple hours due to the size of the Android repo source library. Plan accordingly
Hope this helps!
Looks good, but its way easier to use a direct Ubuntu installation, dude.
So far as i can see, you can use the sdk on 32-bit, too.

And that it still requires tuning for the Tegra chip and the custom radios. This is not a new ROM, rather it is what you would need to do to setup an environment to create a ROM.Just saw so many folks saying they would like to help, that it seemed to make sense to show them how to get started. If anyone has gone through this and is ready to take that next step, this would be a good place to let folks know.

Support on 32-bit is "experimental" according to Google. As for a direct install, that'sonly true if you are ready to convert to Linux or dual boot. On a fast machine having the VM is actually pretty quick, and allows you to mess up without impacting everything else.

Here are the release notes:
__________________________________________________

Release date: November 15, 2016
Release notes:
1. Incorporated the latest Android Studio (version 2.2) which improves graphics performance significantly
2. Fixed bugs related to keyboard shortcuts and hotkeys
3. Fixed bugs related to keyboard hotkeys in full screen mode

Speed
WOW is all I have to say this is the update that was so NEEDED. The speed it runs at is 1000 times better in my opinion. I actually am installing all my apps I use in the emulators I use in windows and making this the primary Windows Emulator for Android. THANK YOU for the AWESOME WORK!!
One thing I notice is the mouse has a slight delay in response. Once that is fixed, this will become my Primary for Android.
UPDATE!!
The Pinch zoom option uses Ctrl-Alt key the same as release mouse from the emulator. This causes a conflict and makes the pinch zoom almost useless. Please Fix.
Internal Storage
How do I get more than 4gb internal storage... the one game I tried to install won't just cause of lack of space.
You and me both. All the apps on my Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro (non-Samsung, of course), I had no trouble installing. Then I tried to install 'Asphalt 7', and I ran out of space.
I want to increase this space to at least 50GB. The procedure to increase internal space for Remix OS for PC will not work with Remix OS Player.

me 2 since some days now
I'm just wondering where the support team is, I've spent the last 4 days trying to get support from the various places they tell you to go to for support but there's been no response from anyone.
First question. is REMIX OS better as booted like i installed it or like the new REMIX OS player emulated over windows. Whats the diference in use and fell and for my specs does it matter.
Second question is how to put AT(@) symbol on croatian keyboard.
My specs are
LENOVO Z500
i5 3230m
6gb ram
1tb hdd now and on windows boot 120gb ssd
Gt 740m
Thx hope in fast response.
How to copy - paste a file or folder from pc to remix os player?
because there is many apk that i want to install from the pc.
I'm curious why this update thread was not stickied in the forum? Does that somehow imply it is less important or less stable than previous builds?
Is there any way to enable more resolution options for the player? I'm using it on a SP4 but only very low resolution options are showing up.
Yup, good one ! French android keyboard is back. Can't use all characters and symbol just using my laptop keys, and lots of the non letters keys are mixed up, but looks like you attained the requirement for me to talk around about you Best accessibility is a must have point. Hope it will improve again.
Thought too, as said on the updater's beta thread, I had to download and install manually.
Do we get any other update or this is the end of this app just like leapdroid

Windows 10 ARM on OnePlus 6/T

Maybe someone will be interested in running Windows 10 on OP6/T. I'm using it on my device... aaand it's not suitable for daily use, but it's pretty capable as of now.
Current status of the project:
- CPU works
- Touchscreen works
- USB works
- GPU partially works (there are some glitches, that's why driver isn't pushed yet to github)
- audio doesn't work
- wifi/bt doesn't work
- and pretty much everything else doesn't work
Thanks to https://github.com/edk2-porting for making it possible!
Tutorial to get it working is here: https://silime.github.io/2021/05/20/Windows10-on-arm64-EN/

Also I've tried some games on this thing, you can see results here:

Hey man, i'm thinking of installing windows 10/11 on my device "OP6" but have some question.
i saw your video of installing the OS, so when ever i want to boot-up windows i have to flash the "UEFI" image to boot-up windows ? cuz i saw some video about this , when rebooting the device normally through android or windows io reboot to android, but to boot-up windows they flash UEFI image through flashboot and it boot-up windows, right ? if so, when every i want windows i should use another PC to use windows on my mobile device
And can i use "EDK2 - v0.4.2" so that i can have wlan (wifi) support ? ( as the release say )

I noticed you haven't gotten a response.
The project is a lot more stable than it was (although still a long way to go). WiFi, Bluetooth and battery as well as a few other things have had support added since this post. I recommend joining the project's Telegram or Discord if you are interested in updates or need help with something..I don't know if I'm allowed to post the links here but it's not too hard to find
