I'm new to linux and Ubuntu and am wondering if there is a way to get 3 finger swipe working so you can scroll back/forward when using Firefox or Chrome.

Depends on your mouse and version of Ubuntu. Are you using a multitouch trackpad like the Magic Trackpad? I've written some sweet mutlitouch gestures for it (and other multitouch trackpads) including three-finger back/forward. It should work in 10.10 and 11.04. Let me know if you're interested.

Just downloaded the Dolphin Pad browser from the market and is oh so sweet. Made for the tablet and has gestures. Check it out.
is it that much better than dolphin v6?

I think so. It feels much more like its built for a larger screen than HD. No more finger at the bottom (gosh that got in my way). Not glitchy anymore when swiping bookmarks open either. My screen used to stick when I swiped to open bookmarks.
i still like the stock version =P since i've gotten the xoom i havent went for any browsers yet
I do like this new browser a lot! It's about time they made a browser to focus specifically on tablets, more specifically... the Honeycomb tablets. The settings menu looks so much like the Honeycomb system settings menu... split screen windows. I'm coming from Dolphin Browser HD myself. I think I will be converting to Dolphin Pad soon.
Looking forward to future updates!
always use dolphin since I bought my xoom. Thanks.
I may be dim here, but how do you get it to recognize gestures? In Dolphin HD you would just touch and hold the lower left corner of the screen.

Is some kind Xoomer able to post the .apk? The market will not allow non-honeycomb tablets to download it, It would be much appreciated.

There is an icon (circle with triangle inside) next to refresh icon on top right. Click it
Awesome! Thanks for the find. I'm not much on Beta so I am looking forward to a final release. I'll follow the thread and thanks again!
I'll try it and see how it handles
Crashed on me once. Other than that, nothing else bugs me about it. Feels much faster than stock... Incredibly.

Nice find. I didn't see that one.
Question. Does Dolphin allow the browsing tab bar to stay at the top? That's the main reason why I use the stock browser because I can press on the tabs easily anytime.
I remember that scrolling down a long web page in Dolphin will just make the tabs disappear and I had to scroll back up to the top of the page before I can use the tabs.

The tabs don't scroll in this version. I like it better than dolphin HD.
Am I the only person that hates having no back button on the top left side for these browsers. I like the full screen button, but when I go full screen I lose the back button...would make sense to add a small back button or option for that.
I also hate the gesture button on the right side, but it is better than the phone version in the bottom left corner IMO.
I love the popup menu on the stock browser, but hate that it hides the tabs...wish someone would copy that or create a solution where the controls can be hit in the corners specified by the user.
I must be holding my tablet wrong
Am I missing something?
Want to import my bookmarks from Dolphin HD to this version but can't find any option to import bookmarks using the backup file I created in the phone version?
And really like this version. Same speed as the phone version but with better ui for the bigger screen.

thank you diablo, I couldn't get it on the market from Belgium (was announced "not available anymore")... I was also using Dolphin HD 6 on my tablet, along with Opera mobile, I'll try this one on my Transformer in the evening.

Thanks for the post, looks like they really have coded it specifically for honeycomb devices though, the rest of us will have to wait.
Just noticed, if I go to any web page & double tap to zoom if I put a pen or finger on the screen & move up/down then the screen moves up & down but if I put my finger on the screen & move up/down & then side to side without taking my finger /pen off it won't move side to side, same as if I start side to side & then try up/down it won't go up/down. Not an issue just strange, works fine on our tab2.

Tested and working fine here. Stock, rooted, using chrome. Odd.!

Not doing that for me, at first I thought it probably just does that so you can scroll up and down through a paragraph without accidently keep misaligning it off screen.

Yup, Firefox seems to be the culprit, moved over to dolphin beta now.

Ah ok, I'm pretty sure that's a firefox feature for the reason above, why not use Chrome, perfect browser.
Anyone know how, or even if it is possible, to reverse the default scroll direction for two finger scrolling on the Keyboard Touchpad?
TIA

Same question here - this thing was too pricey to not have this option!
So I had bought this tablet at launch, then ended up returning it because of once issue: the scrolling on the touchpad is just emulating a finger swipe, not a mouse wheel. This made it so that I could not scroll when in remote desktop apps, it would just act like I was clicking the left mouse button and dragging.
Has this issue been resolved with any updates?
Hi all, with the update that enabled the use of air trigger for scrolling, theoritically, can we access this function to use it in scrolling on other apps? example reading an article and sliding your finger on the side to scroll down the page.
Will be great if it works

This is just a brilliant idea from u champ. With the way this phone is held in portrait mode this will seriously help in scrolling with the side triggers. I hope they will include such an idea in the future updates. Let's start talking about it too get it!
Can you add the app to game genie theb map it? Like have chrome set to use the game genie app/overlay then have it slide?

unfortunately, air trigger only works in landscape mode. This would have worked if it allows air trigger in portrait mode.
Air triggers for app shortcut
