Ok tested so far so good joystick is working!
I also have irotate (winxp) video is rotating as yours!
Does it is supported under Win7 too?
Definitly recommended to all shift users!
thank you!

I can't install "GSensorR" on win 7 home premium

I'll give you my feedback everything works good but Gsensor is craching every time I resume from hibernation.
And I cannot make it run on windows 7.
Regards

Thanks for this excellent app! It's running fine on my Windows 7 installation, I just set it to XP compatibility mode during the installation process.
I got it working with WinUAE (Amiga Emulator) aswell

I cant make it run in windows 7 can you describe every step you did?

I just used Google Translate to translate the guide into english and followed it to the point:
http://tinyurl.com/32ctocu and http://tinyurl.com/2v9o455
I set all three files to XP compatibility mode before running them though.
Let me know how it works out for you

Ok it works! Thanks pptan and khals! One question: how can I rotate screen in windows 7? Is it impossible?

Rotation for ours Intel GMA is disabled in windows 7 env. , I still need to understand if this lock is on drivers or Windows 7 registry.
Once unlocked it will work same as XP.
If some other is trying this please let us know here about some progress.
My actual test driver is 8.14.10.1930 on win7 ultimate

Does it work for Vista?

is there any way to run Gsensor.exe with rotation enabled first not joystick?

not for the moment.
dlportio and ppjoy, both installed with no probs with winxp compatibility and as administrator.
virtual joy shows up in properties.
unfortunately try running gsensor-r brings up an error:
run-time error '6':
overflow
does anyone knows a way around this?

UPDATE: Please try downloading the latest WMDC first before attempting anything in this section of the guides. you will find the latest version HERE .
To follow this guide please make sure you have a copy of WinRAR installed, I will refer to the Windows Mobile Device Centre as the WMDC for ease of reading. If you do not have the WMDC installed please go here to install it first.
One problem with windows VISTA is that it uses the new "Windows Mobile Device Centre" and not activesync which we are used to, thus our standard RUU programs will not upgrade our Hermes devices as in windows XP. This guide will show you how to configure VISTA to work just the same as XP with our RUU programs.
For this guide firstly you need to download the new drivers:
Drivers for Windows Vista x32
Drivers for Windows Vista x64
NOTE:: If you are using a x64 bit computer, you will need to boot up with driver signing enforcement turned off. To accomplish this, you will need to press F8 during boot up. If you do not do this, the 64 bit drivers will not install properly and this tutorial will not be of any use to you.
Extract the contents to a folder on your desktop, call this folder "AS_DRIVERS". It contains the drivers from activesync which we will use instead of the native VISTA WMDC drivers when the device is in bootloader.
Now you must enter the bootloader on your device, to do this press and hold both the side ok button and the power button then put your stylus into the hole on the bottom of the device, your device will reset and show the red blue green bootloader screen. LEAVE THE DEVICE IN BOOTLOADER MODE and connect it using the USB cable to your VISTA PC.

Now navigate into the WMDC (Start>All Programs>Windows Mobile Device Center) and click on the "connection settings" menu icon.
In the connection settings menu untick "allow USB connections" then press OK. Now exit the WMDC and return to the desktop, go into the start menu and type "Services", this will take you into the local services dialogue and show a list of all services either running or registered with your pc.
Scroll down the list and make sure these services are present:
Windows Mobile-based connectivity
Windows Mobile 2003-based connectivity
If these services are not started then double click each one and set them to Automatic start by clicking the "startup-type" drop-down menu and selecting automatic then click the start button in the same window, apply the setting by pressing OK. Now return back to the desktop again.

Go into the start menu and type "Device Manager" then run, this will take you into the device manager. Click the "+" symbol next to "Mobile Devices" and double click on "HTC USB Sync". This will bring up the properties of the currently connected device (the hermes in bootloader).
Go to the "Driver" tab and click "Update Driver".
Click "Browse My Computer for Driver Software".
Select "Let me pick from a list...."
  Click the "Have Disk" button.
Click "Browse" and navigate to the AS_DRIVERS folder we created earlier.
Vista x32 users select the file "wceusbsh.inf" Vista x64 users select the file "wceusbshx64.inf" Then click Open.
click next and the driver will be installed (wait a moment).
Press close and escape back to the desktop now.
Now we must stop the WMDC process, start the task manager by pressing Ctrl+Shift+Escape.
Click the WMDC line and click "End Process". In the confirmation window, again press End Process.
Now re-enter the WMDC and re-enable USB connections (click connection settings and tick the box "enable USB connections").
Your RUU programs for HardSPL/Radios/WM6 ROMs should now run as desired once you are synced with WMDC. Since we have updated the driver which Vista uses when the device is in bootloader mode.
NOTE:: This technique is still in testing so if you have any issues please post in the official thread. Until we find another way to get RUU working with vista you may need to revert back to XP for upgrading your Windows Mobile Based Device.
Thanks!
I saw this same article somewhere else and already did this
Thanks for posting this here though! Also, it helps to use the windows mobile device center 6.1 update. It works both on my desktop Vista Ultimate computer and my mom's home premium laptop
Also, a little sidenote, if you want windows mobile device center to display your own phone as the image instead of the standard PDA/PPC Phone/Smartphone image when you sync follow these steps:
Disable USB connections in Windows Mobile Device Center
Uninstall the drivers for your device from device manager
Save the image you want to use as an icon file called sync.ico
Save the icon to the windows folder on your ppc
Disconnect your PPC and enable USB connections again
Wait for the computer to reinstall the device driver and it will sync with the new icon
Sorry, I don't remember who first suggested this. I take NO credit for this whatsoever.
Woooooooooow !!!

Have you tried my tutorial on how to dual boot your computer so that it has Vista and XP on it? I started having problems with my phone not flashing properly after like 2 weeks. I installed a few Windows updates and then the drivers stopped working so I set up my computer to have Vista and XP on it so that I can use Vista on a daily basis and only use XP when I'm working on my phone.

Anybody have found a Vista Update Utility for G4?
Thanks!
This got my G4 to finally stop giving me connection errors in the boot loader!
Now I can finally get my G4 unbricked
I used the shelltool successfully in Vista 32bit, but the world isn't liking me for flashing in 64bit so far... Either way, thanks!
Also, you might want to update the tutorial to tell 64bit users to boot up with driver signing enforcement turned off (Press F8 on boot up) else the 64bit drivers won't take.

Thank you very much for that piece of input. I will definitely update the tutorial as per your advice to better assist 64bit users.
Thanks again, Dan.
The Vista RUU doesn't crash as I was used to, but it doesn't run either (with a prophet that is) it 's complaining about "beeing outdated".
Are there any solutions yet known for this inconvenience? Thanks in advance!
Vista RUU
Is there a newer version of the ROM update utility? The one posted above doesn't run, but, rather, just complains that it's out of date!
The driver method detailed above works great (with the caveat for x64 users that they have to disable the driver signing restriction), but unfortunately I'm still no further along because I can't seem to find an RUU that will work!
If anyone knows of one that really works on Vista, please pass it one. (I've searched through all these postings, but none seem to work!)
Thanks much for the detailed driver instructions!
Thanks for the Vista instructions, helps me out! but I ran into a problem degradeing to unlock my CID. Im not sure its me,software,and/or myphone but I got a invalid Vender ID error 294. I am using a wizard 8125 for this and using Vista. This is my first time, but im loaded on knowlaege unless i missed somthing. Thanks in advance.
Still no luck with Vista!
Has anyone found a complete method to flash on Vista? As posted above, the RUU included with this thread doesn't work. It gets most of the way through and then, just before starting to flash, gives a "This utility is out of date" error and exits.
Again, the driver instructions given in this thread are sound, but without a working RUU they only give you half of the solution for flashing on Vista.
I have successfully flashed using Shelltool, but it works sporadically at best.
Does anyone have a start to finish solution?
I followed the instructions given in this forum and they seemed to work perfectly for me.
here is my 2 cents though i had initially flashed my device using the origional t-mobile rom (SPL/IPL 3.08 radio 2.69) and it worked without any problems. It was only when i tried flashing with a cooked rom that it gave me problems.
Here are the RUU file from that rom and hopefully someone can figure out why it worked

Windows 7 RC on Shift?

Hi All,
I was trying to install Win 7 on my HTC Shift using the USB disk method. The installation goes well until it get to the last step configuring windows or your machine.... then it gives me an error, Installer was unable to configure windows to run on your hardware restart installation.
Any ideas why is that or how it can be resolved?
Thanks
There's the RTM version now available, check for Hash to be sure it's the real deal, and use the same install instructions. I recommed you use Windows Update before drivers, then install what is left because there's some new drivers like Authentec TrueSuite which is only downloadable through manufacturers. All works

I'm running Win 7 RC for a while now on my shift... and everything is fine... I don't know what is the issue you have. maybe you should try to reinstall it and check if you have a correct version of Win 7 RC.

That's because AERO doesn't run at the moment at screen resolutions higher than 800*600.
Boot into SAFE MODE - Delete New Installed Graphic Card Drivers - Enable Windows 7 Classic theme in Windows and Reinstall drivers!
Can someone PLEASE reply ?
I am desperate. I deleted the HPA Partition in order to free up 3Gigs and installed Windows 7.
I followed all the tutorials, so i installed ECDriver (Vista Compatibility Mode + Run as Administrator) and Touch Screen Driver.
I mention that i see HTC Embedded Controller (in device manager) after installing ECDriver , but touch screen doesnt work (after installing touchscreen drivers) = No Pen or Touch Input is available for this Display
What am i doing wrong ?!?
I also had the same problem, so, I've installed the VGA driver from the package the way mentioned somewhere here and in the same order, as I think the new VGA driver installed with the Win7 installation is missing an important bit at the end of the installation. After that, and after a reboot, the touch started, but I did not get a calibration screen. Even without the calibration, the screen seemed to be fine. I've also disabled Aero just in case as I did not want any more blue screens.
So you have installed ECDriver, Touchscreen and VGADriver (WinVista Compatible & Run as Administrator) in this order ?
When i install VGADriver, i get a 'Cannot copy'. I thought the driver was corrupt and tried re-downloading it, but this didn't solve the situation.
How did you manage to install it ?!?
First I've installed just touchscreen driver and it did not work, so I've installed EC driver and then touchscreen and it also failed. So, I've added the VGA. I think it did not want to install with Vista compatibility so I think I forced it through with XP compatibility, got a message saying the driver was older than what I had installed, I said yes, please, go ahead! It then installed and at the end some CMD windows poped up and then closed and I then installed touch screen again. Nothing seemed to have happened then, so I've restared the computer, had all my fingers crossed (very, very technical!) and voilá, touch screen was there.
Thanks for the support. I tried several times, following exactely your steps, but i didn't manage to make it functional.
Unfortunately I had to go back to Windows Vista.
Now i have Windows 7 Vista Ultimate SP2, instead of the preistalled Windows Vista Business OEM.
Althought it's running ok, i am waiting for the final version of Windows 7 (not the RTM that i tried installing).
Win7 installed = 7 GB, Windows Vista Ultimate = 14 GB :|
Hi
Sorry to hear that it did not work for you. Like I~ve mentioned elsewhere, the only thing that did not work for me all the way is the sd card that keeps dropping from explorer.
Did I mention that I did not do a clean install? I've installed it as an upgrade and had all the functions (Wifi, BT, Phone) on while upgrading to avoid the problem some people have of the wifi connection going missing when upgrading(W7)/downgrading(XP). I've been busy at work so did not have time to use it much or test it some more.
Well, you missed to mention that
I tried a fresh install, after deleting the HPA partition (now i have 37GB Hdd, instead of 33).
Maybe that's why it didn't work for me...
A friend of mine gave my his Shift to try installing Win7 via Upgrade. Maybe it works.
BTW : Windows 7 Ultimate SP2 is running just perfect on Shift. Too bad it occupies 20GB (after drivers and updates)

problem: Wlan on windows xp pro sp2

hello people,
i've installed windows xp sp2 with a step by step guide on xda (this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=436982) without problems.
At the end, when we have to install wlan drivers, i've noticed that marvell sdio sd8686 appear in the hardware list but there is also a yellow ! on this hardware with the error code number 10, windows cannot start hardware.
I've tried with some other drivers that i found on internet but with the same results. Someone can help me?

Hi en_ky!
I was following the other installation method "Installing Windows XP with Windows Post Install (WPI)" that you can find on this forum, but basically should be the same.
Anyway, regarding WLAN on the WPI method it says:
"13. WLAN: Drivers are copied to c:\wlandrivers, install from there when you are asked for them later". This step is just before installing CYGWIN
After finishing with SwapResolution,
"Now it usually asks about the WLAN drivers, see step nr. 13."
"If it asks about drivers for Windows Mobile, just answer yes until it finishes."
"To get Wifi working, you have to copy the "copy HTC Shift XP Drivers\WLAN\sdbus.sys to c:\windows\system32\drivers\ say yes to the replace dialog and reboot."
"DO THIS IN SAFE MODE ONLY. This is how I got mine to work. I had the same problem with the yellow and not working wifi code 10 in the device manager."
"If you copy this without being in safe mode, it will not work because after the reboot the system will replace the overridden version with the old one again."
So check again all the steps and do the last one in Safe Mode (I think here is your problem)!
Good luck!
thank you for your reply,
I tried to resolve my problem with help of windows update and an eterneth connection for internet. At first it doesn't start with the same yellow ! But after a restart, it starts!!!!
Many thanks to you in any case; i know that your answer will be usefull for another person with this problem!

thanks for samersamer for help my
may be you have to un-install the driver
also let me remind you the importance to follow the steps in installing the drivers as i took it from here:
first of all, after having the drivers copied to the hardisk, right click mouse on the driver's icon and select properties then compatibility then check run this program in compatibility mode for: and select windows vista then check run this program as an administrator after that just click ok and run the driver. you have to do this step for each driver before installing it.
good luck
• Install all the drivers in the order below and restart your computer when asked to:
very improtant step a. VistaECDrvV1[1].0.1.10
do not do it at all b. Intel VGA driver(7[1].14.10.1461)
very important step c. TouchScreen(1[1].1.0.2)
it is ok to do it d. Synaptics MicroPad(10[1].0.11.1)
it is essential step e. Marvell WiFi driver(8[1].114.123.139)
only if you want to have the fingerprint f. Vitakey _AC5023_Fingerprint AP v5[1].0.2.0 and Driver v7.10.1.0 *
no need for it g. Extension Kit USBLanDriver(3[1].8.3.7)
if this can not help, then sadly i have to tell you try re-installing the windows 7 again
also you have to use the latest windows 7 and not the beta version, avoid updates as much as you can, windows 7 should not be basic version and at least home premium or above
wish good luck this time
