I run last cm rom with few metamorphs like black hero status bar, transparent widgets and also i use trackball light in succesion+ trackball alert wich i think does not work anymore(used fix permisions in rom manager and i asume changed the framework wich aplication patches).I also have the gmail notifier in my pc.
The problem is that everytime i get an email it does not notify me at all or sometimes after 1 hour or even more. All the time i must give refresh and so on..or sometimes only when i unluck the screen.it varies and i have no ideea what might be the problem. Also cleared data many times, reboot, check uncheck sync and so on..Anyone any ideea?i might asume something with the rtackball alert or succession led..something has to do with it.
i am having the same problem, no sound alert and no notification bar icon. I can refresh gmail and the message will pop up, but neither the sound nor icon appear

I don’t know if this is a bug with my rom (never used vanilla rom) or if its just a missing feature but when my phone is on Vibrate Mode (not silent), then it doesn’t vibrate when I get a SMS/MMS... Only way for me to know I got a msg is through the trackball light or the notification bar. Is my phone messed up or can I add this feature?
I am using kang-o-rama (cyan 506)
Go into Messaging, then settings, and you can enable vibrate on messages there. You can also customize the notification for messages too.
thanks, cant believe i missed that. im so used to haveing all the notification settings in one menu with my older phones
Is there a way to turn off alerts/alarms coming from the S planner?
I'm planning on using Calengoo.
Won't the alerts double? One coming from S-planner and the other coming from Calengoo?
I cannot turn of the calendars in S planner as Calengoo seems to need it to be able to get calendar data from my google account (I don't want to give Calengoo my login details, thus it is syncing from my Android device which is syncing to my Google Account)
Thanks for what enlightenment you guys can give.
I, too, would love some advice on this issue. Just using Outlook and the S Calendar. What I would like to do is to turn off the spoken notifications but still receive an event notification in the notification bar. And I still want the phone to ring.
What about "Set alarms and notifications" option in s planner options accessible after pressing menu key? I can set "Alarm", "Notification", "Disabled". There is another menu entry for vibration...
Thanks. But the problem with choosing to disable it is that I no longer receive any notification. I would like a notice in the notification bar - I just don't want my notification bar speaking. I tried changing the notification sound volume to zero. That worked to silence notifications about texts (but I still get the vibrate). But my calender still speaks.
Well, I found a fix for my problem, but it won't help the OP. Turns out the phone was in driving mode and that overrode application settings.
Every time I get a notification, I click on it in the notification bar and it takes me to the app (messages or Gmail or whatever). I can read the message, delete the email, etc.. but when I drag down notifications the notification is still there... They used to no longer show the notification after interacting.
Why are they not clearing once clicked? Very annoying. I don't think was happening when I first installed Lollipop, but maybe. Anyone else have this or know why it may be doing this? I have to go back and manually clear them after interacting.
Hi
I am having a very odd problem on my Mi 8, Global Rom, MIUI 9.6.1
If I try to customise Gmail notifications (Nofications>>App notifications>>Gmail) I can adjust the basic notification settings.
But if I go into the Gmail app and try to adjust the more specific notifications settings there, nothing works:
Gmail>>Settings>>General settings>>Manage notifications There are sliders for notifications for email, attachments etc. But when I slide them and exit the page, if i go back in they have reset themselves.
and
Gmail>>Settings>>[email protected]>>Manage notifcations I cannot change the importance level, and if I turn on Blink light and exit the page, when I go back in it has turned itself off again.
As a result, I have almost no control over the notifications in Gmail.
I have uninstalled all Gmail updates and reinstalled. But it made no difference. Is this a conflict between MIUI notifications and stock Android notifications? Anyone else having this issue?
Thanks
Same issue
I have the same issue, with the same ROM.
I've tried everything I found on the internet on this subject, without any results.
I just don't get Gmail notifications. All remaining notifications work just fine. Also tried with Inbox instead of Gmail, but still no notifications!
Same on 10.0.0.3
Anyone managed to solve this?
I have same problem, can't change Gmail (also Chrome) notification settings.
Hi guys, i have a notification problem with mi 8..the LED works on 70% of the notifications but 30% does not let me see, I noticed that there is a connection between many notifications and few, when I receive maximum 2/3 most of the time the LED lights up, while I get more than 3 starts not to light up anymore ... it's not always like that, but for many times yes. Obviously I also tried the wipe cache and dalvik, but nothing...same issue with 10.0.6 and last 8.10.25 (xiaomi.eu). On application settings and led notification setting is all "ON", no power saving in these apps. Anyone can help me?
Update:
After several tests I found that the same problem is repeated for the vibration when notifications are received, sometimes it vibrates sometimes not.

I think you are having your first encounter with MIUI's default features. Go to Settings > Installed apps, select the app or apps for which you want to "fix" the notifications for and tap Notifications. From here, select the feature or features you want to receive notification for and how to receive them (Notification light, vibration, etc). When I say features for this, well every app has it's own set of different components to notify you of. For example, Facebook has several options to choose, lets say you only want vibrations and LED for comments and friend requests, you can set those to only provide the notification light or vibrations when you receive them. Gmail on the other hand has few options relating to the types of notifications you receive (since obviously it's only related to email and there are no comments or friend requests on it). Each app has it's own set and you can control what or how you get notifications. If you are still seeing that you are not getting notifications on time or so on, then the default power saving feature may also need adjusting. Go to Settings > Battery & performance > Choose apps and select the app or apps you want to "fix" the notifications for and select the option called "No restrictions". The default setting is useful for saving power, but this also stops certain apps from displaying notifications as soon as you get them (there is a delay which I still don't know if it is random or if it is every hour, few hours or so). Not all apps abuse your battery, but of course some do, such as Facebook which can be annoying if you receive lots of comments, uodates, etc.

es, the problem is that I have already set all this that you tell me, but many times loses the LED notifications / vibration too often. Could you make me a screen of the notifications app installed section of ex. whatsapp (which I always use) so I copy preferences? maybe there are conflicts, if you activate one thing the other does not work well etc. otherwise I do not know what to think ..
