Suitable desktop stands & car holder [/w barely case] - HD2 Accessories

Howdy community,
since a couple of weeks I am using a barely case from case-mate and I'm really happy with it! Due to the fact that the case is kindly an alltime case, I am looking for a remedy to the following:
1.)
What kind of desktop stands fits with the barely case?
2.)
What kinda of car holder fits with the barely case?
Thanks for your answer!

[Q] A good but still pocketable case?

Hi folks!
I have order a Streak recently, and as I live quite far from the repair service, I would like to buy a good case for my phone.
I´ve read read most of the post about cases on this forum (about Otterbox, amzer, leather ones), but I still have not being able to make a decission. So I ask for your help to make up my mind..
Here I note down my needs:
- The Streak must be pocketable with the case. I know that the device itself is almost not pocktable, so I would like to know if someone has a good case that still fits in normal trousers.
- I would prefer a case that I have not to take out the phone to use it (like those silicone ones), but I´n not sure if they provide a reasonably amount of protection. I can use a leather one (my actual Diamond has one), but it cannot be very big (the pocketable issue) and I want to be sure that I can take out the device easily without answering calls by accident.
- I understand that most of cases avoid the use both of Dell car accessory and the Dell desktop stand without removing them, but if any of them allow that, I would be good to know.
I really apreciate your advices and experiences, and thanks a lot for your time!
I personally use this case I did a review about and love it!

Fits in my pocket perfectly. A bit tight when wearing long jeans though.
I have the dell case plastic form fit. Doesn't offer to much prrotection but defintly pocketable. I have no issues putting the streak in my pocket. I am going to her the amzer jellycase for added protection.

I have the Easecase too. Brilliant case but I did think it bulked the phone up too much to fit in my pocket comfortably.
I liked Dell slip cover purely to prevent scratching but it was difficult to get on or off.
I ended up buying one of these as an interim measure.

Cheap and nasty but it does the job superbly, the fold over stud clip is useless. But I found that leaving it unlatched it's great as a little pull tag so I can pull the phone in and out of my pocket very quickly.
I'd love to have a go at recreating this using loverly supple leather with a microfibre lining and a metal ring where the tab is for easy pocket removal.
I have read the excellent review about the easycase, but I´m not sure about it or this one:
Leather Case for Dell Streak - Horizontal Pouch Type (Black) Version.2 From PDAIR
(the forum does not allow me to post direct links)
Maybe without the clip is more pocketable...any experiencies with this case?
The plastic one from Dell seems to offer too less protection...a it is a bit expensive for what it is...but something similar is an option if I dont go for a leather one.
Thanks for your advices...
I believe you are talking about this one:

I do really like that case, but by the time it came out I had already purchased an easecase. It just seems that all PDair cases bulk the Streak up more. The case I have only adds about 1/8 inch on all sides of the Streak.
Although the PDair case is more visually pleasing with the white stitch.
I have bought the Amzer and the Otterbox cases, both make the phone a little big for your pocket and they are a little sticky.
I just put a product request on Boxwave to make a Pure Crystal Slip case for the Streak, I have used this on my HTC phones and like them.

so If you are interested please put a request in also.

+1 for the Otterbox... I got mine today and it is great!!!

Case or battery door with a kickstand, PLEASE!

Would some enterprising equipment maker PLEASE fabricate either a replacement battery door or a case that has a kickstand incorporated into it???
After being spoiled on my Evo with it integrated, I just do not understand why it doesn't exist for the Streak. The Streak begs for it even more than the Evo would otherwise!
I think every case with a belt clip should double as a kickstand in the mechanism. It is a win-win! I wish I had the capabilities to fab my own stuff sometimes!
Ok, I feel better now...

The Otterbox defender comes with a belt clip that doubles as a kickstand. Very handy, you can adjust the angle. Of course, it is quite big, however it offers great protection. I dropped the Streak several times already, not a scratch.
If the worst happens, you can always use a plate stand

I went to the office supply store (Staples here in the USA) and got a couple of cheap business card stands made of clear plastic. They work great as stands!
The Otterbox Defender is a case that has a kickstand. There is a review of all of the Otterbox cases a few threads up with pictures included.

Have the same trouble. I would like to use the full five inches of my streak for my mobile office work and already got a nice bluetooth keyboard, which works quite well. The efforts to find a suitable case solution are greater though. After some research I found two other ones aside from the Otterbox Defender already mentioned in this thread.
First one is the original wallet case sold by dell. As new member I cannot post the link. Pro in my opinion is the still sleek design and build in kickstand, but reviews criticise poor quality and operability despite the high price.
Second one I like most is the solution from Noreve selling a high quality leather case. Again in comparison to the Defender the design is slim and fits easily into a pocket. But a problem with all these fancy looking alternatives seems to be the protection. I already dropped my streak a while ago carrying it in a leather case. It hit the ground with its edge and got some deep abrasions, because the case did not provide enough protection. I hope some companies out there care about customer feedback and design a nice case, which allows save transport. My favourite would be the commuter case with built in kickstand.

you could always jimmy it and make a small hole on the bottom to allow the usb cord to go in through the bottom to charge .

[Q] Best NS Holster/Pouch (any experience?)

I recently picked up a new 9020a for ATT and need a holster/pouch to carry it in. I will not be using a screen protector or additional case so that is not an issue. I found a lot of reviews here for cases but not much on pouches (unless I missed them). The question is simple, does anyone have a suggestion for a holster/pouch that fits perfectly with the NS.
I found this Samsung holster on BB's website but I am not a fan of the button snap. I prefer magnetic (definitely no velcro). Something similar would be great...+10 internet points if your suggestion comes in brown.

Thanks
try this1 Proporta Aluminium Lined Leather Pouch
I have not tested yet but will do a mini review tomorrow or day after

I will look forward to your review. I am not quite sure how this works? Do you put the pouch in your pocket and then pull the whole pouch out when you get a call...then pull the phone out of the pouch? I am always playing with my phone so this would get old imo.
It seems I would want a more traditional one with a belt clip, but thank you for the tip.
So my review is done if u want to have a look
And yes i have the pouch in pocket so when u need the phone 1st pouch out than phone out fro pouch
But I use to have HD2 in original leather pouch for almost 2 years so I use to do it all the time

REVIEW: Smartphone Experts leather side pouch (hip case)

Finding a leather case that's really made for the Note 2 that goes on your hip is a heck of a challenge at best. There's lots of pleather cases out there, and ones that aren't made for the Note...they're big enough to hold two of them I've heard! The case made right is big enough already, it doesn't need to be bigger than needed.
So after lots of looking I settled on the Smartphone Experts Side Pouch.
From what I could tell in the pictures, it looked like a good case and with the black friday discount, I got it for ~$21, not bad for a leather case.
It came in today, and I must say I'm pleasantly surprised. It truly is real leather, smells great and is stamped so on the back (you can see it in the pictures.) Stitching is done nicely, and with black thread instead of the white I see so often. Thank god for that, I don't need my case looking like a leisure suit!
There is extra padding on the exposed side of the case, I haven't seen this before in other cases. This can be seen in the pictures too. The belt clip is sturdy and strong, even though it looks small. The closure is magnetic and holds the flap down securely. Honestly, I don't know if magnets really mess up the phone, but it would be a simple matter to slide a sheet of mu-metal foil inside of the padded area to help with that.
The fit is quite snug, but one can expect that with all leather cases. They usually take about a week or so to form fit to your device. After that, it'll be quite easy to get the case in and out of my pocket. It does have a finger hole in the bottom center of the case to enable you to pop your device out easily. One miss, as pointed out by BrooklynAvi is that there is no headphone hole. I don't use headphones, but I can certainly see how that'd be a problem.
So, all in all, a very nice quality case. Definitely would recommend to anyone looking for a leather hip case.
Thanks for the review. Do you think this pouch can fit the Note Ii with a case? Maybe I'll be a tight fit.
Kinda hard to tell; my phone is naked. The extra padding is soft, so it does have some give in it. If the case is thin, it'll probably go. Good thing is that leather stretches with time, so it should stretch to fit eventually?
I love the Seidio holster but they aren't making it for the GNote 2 without an additional case. In addition to the cost of the extra case, I don't want to have a case on my phone. The strange thing is they make two of those type of cases which annoys me. One should have been the regular one. Well, they said they don't plan to make one so I was in the market for a traditional hip case. I found this one and you confirmed a few things I wanted to know so I'm ordering it now. I used this type for my Dash and several other devices so it shouldn't be too bad. Better than my pocket.
I thought this thread was going to be about a hip ie. fashionable case

Yeah, well.....
One thing I can't stand is a phone in the pocket. Only way to make that worse is to have a LARGE phone in my pocket. It may not look cool, but you can't beat a case on your hip for ease of access.
One (or two) big issues
OP: Can you add this comment (in brief, of course) to the OP so others know the headphones hole is missing?
So I received the case and it was exactly what I expected in terms of quality. It really is designed for a belt but works well on my pants alone when I don't wear a belt but falls off my sweatpants at home (I don't wear my case at home much anyway and this is to be expected). Here are the issues. There are no cutouts for the headphone and charger. The charger isn't truly and issue for me as I doubt I will charge it while wearing it like I've done with other phones (while out and using an external charger) because the battery life is tremendous on the GN2. But I really use the headphones while wearing the case. I actually think that this is a vital feature that was overlooked. My solution will be to pay $5 or $10 to have a professional seamstress cut a hole in it and stitch up the hole. Yeah, it's that important to me.
So if you need a case like this then it's really your only choice. I just didn't think to ask. It's solid though and once it stops being stiff I'm going to enjoy not having to carry the device in my pocket. I'm a huge fan of side cases and this is a really good one. (Anyone remember the awesome one that came with the T-Mobile Dash?)
After a week or so of use I've decided I'm returning the case. It simply doesn't stay on my side and it's fallen off in my car a few times. It even fell off while I was walking. I'm so disappointed in a case that could have been so good.

I never buy those belt clips like that, i had a bad experience with those. The belt part becomes every flimsy very fast. Im still looking for a nice belt holster that isn't ottercase or siedo.
I haven't had a problem with it falling off, but then I always had a belt on when I was using the case. It's a good case, but I've switched to the Best Buy Pt/seidio surface case. Gives the extra grip I need and love the holster.

Car holder while wearing case?

Does anyone know of a reasonably solid in-car holder that will grip the Note 2 while it has the official Samsung flip case on? I assume there isn't going to be one built for purpose so just need a reasonably strong universal one, presumably windscreen mount.
Anyone got a decent one they use that can hold the weight and size?

Just picked up the iOttie XL for my new-to-me Note 2, works great. Best quality car dock I've had yet. Fits the Note 2 with a Case Mate Tough Case just barely! I understand the Note 2 with an Otterbox Defender is too big for it, but it should be fine for your application.
Looks good, thanks, I'll give it a try

iOttie should work well, check out my review links in the signature. But keep in mind that if you planning to go later with Zerolemon battery or thicker case like Defender, iOttie side grips won't cut it.
Ram mount x grip will work.

I don't know if this is what you are looking for but I mod this myself. I use two 1 inch rubberband and a rubber case where i cut along the side, top, and bottom.
I don't know why the picture is upside down when I uploaded
Rocketfish makes a decent mount that will fit a Note II with an Otterbox Defender. The contact points are flexible rubber, and seem like they'd securely grip any case. It comes with both suction and vent clip mounts, I've been very happy with it.
