Does anyone know a dialer app that can force you to press the hard key dial button before actually making a call?
I have inesoft dialer and I like the contacts and favorites interfaces, but I have made so many calls by accident that I have lost count. This one-key dialing is much too troublesome.
I want an app that when I touch my contact/favorite it will prompt me and wait for me to press the hard key. This seems a very simple way to avoid accidental dialing, but I can't find any app that does it.
Thanks for any info.
Lock your phone .
I somehow got an entry for my wife on my favorites screen twice this afternoon. I thought it seemed reasonable that I should delete the second entry, so I tried. I dialed her three times unintentionally because every time I touched the damn entry it dialed her number.
She is still in there twice.
Locking the screen might prevent pocket dialing, if I really wanted to deal with some stupid unlock screen every time I pull the thing out to check work messages, which I don't.
How about I just have my valet carry the phone and do all the dialing for me.

Has anyone figured out a registry tweak so that the keypad doesn't disappear after you dial a number on the Tilt. There must be a way to fix it - I notice when I push 1 for speed dial to call my voicemail the keypad remains on the screen, but when I dial any other number it disappears. This is one of the few annoyances I haven't been able to fix on my Tilt. Thanks.
Keep keypad when calling . . .

Excellent first question!
I don't know the answer, but I'd like to know, too.
Obviously you can hit the left softkey for "Keypad" but that's an extra step that one might prefer not to have to do, but rather have the keypad remain showing, and have the left softkey option be "Call Status"
If you call a lot of numbers where you have to enter more numbers when prompted, this might be the preferred default.
No one knows? I'd love to change this as well.
This is the first "fix" i need to do.
HTC should sort this out and provide a fee down load. They are silly to think it would not be a problem .
There is a fix etc.. but its part of a big bundle of stuff that scares most "newbies" away.
Can someone not make a simple fix just for this problem with a very easy method to download and set up etc
I am sure that many members do not have the technical minds of most of you!
I read about / tried all the best key-mapping programs (AE Button, hButton, etc.), but I couldn't figure out how do to this..
When I press a certain button once, I want the phone to automatically call a certain contact, without asking for any confirmation. Ideally, announce the name of the contact being called, but no big deal if it doesn't.
Press the same button twice, 3 times, etc. -- the call is placed to other contacts I specify in advance.
I'm just trying to make the PDA car-friendly.. While driving, I still much prefer my $50 Nokia cell phone, which had easy single-button-hold quick-dial.
Thank you for any suggestion..
I really like the diamond (Ignito) but using it to dial people (in touchflo) or contacts (via Windows) is a nightmare. far too often I end up dialling someone when I'm trying to scroll using the touch screen. And the basic Windows contact manager is all too small scale to use without a stylus.
Has anyone got any advice or better still an alternative app that will let me use the touch screen and a big list in a reliable way. My daughter's Samsung Tocco is just a dream to use in comparison.
Thanks
Mike
You can use Resco Contact Manager. The beta is free and usable with touch function. Try it! You can enable/disable Resco Contact manager to handle calls, contacts, etc in settings
http://www.resco.net/pocketpc/contactmanager/default.asp
The Screenshot is on the website as well.
Thanks Satus - will try that now

personally i never use the contacts tab to dial out. I just press the phone key then use the dialer keypad to start typing the first letters of the person im trying to dial then hit call. much faster than trying to scroll and no need for the stylus..
tried Resco contacts last night and I love it. Scrolling seems somehow much less sensitive and even if you do make an accidental press, all it does is pop-up the contact with 4 big buttons for dial, sms, email, and something else. If you hit the big back arrow in the corner it takes you back to your scroll list at the point you were previously
Thanks again Satus

Hi,
I have the diamond for about a month now and love it. Only one problem: If I want to access my voice mail at work, I need to double press th * button when my message starts...But it does not work. The first time I press it, it works, but the second tap displays a "p" and no sound...If you go in the dialer, even without being in a call, and try to double press *, it happens too.
Any help ?
Thanks
Steph.
no one ?
really ? No one ?

I had problems paging people thru hospital paging system where you have to keep dialing numbers. Try changing form short DTMF tones to long DTMF tones. It has worked since I did that.
I have a huge problem. After I updated to GB, my smart dialer seems to be broken. When I start tapping numbers, no contacts start filtering out, then delete what I tapped and press on the info field and it gives me info about smart dialing. I start the process again and nothing happens, erase the numbers, tap on the info, I get the info, I remove the message telling me how smart dialing is and then it works as it should. It looks like a hickup but I am out of ideas on how to solve it.
