Ring tone question, using DamageControl 2.8.1 - Hero CDMA Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am using DamageControl 2.8.1. When I go to select a default ring tone, I have 3 of every one. How do I make it so I only have 1 of every ring tone? Anyone else experiencing this?

I checked the ringtones folder and there is only one of each so why there are 3 of each where you select the ring tones is beyond me.

changing alarm and open/close tones

Yes, it is.
Try WAV files.
Change alarm tone to telephone ringer tone
On my old WM5 PPC phone I could set the alarm to be any of the telepone ringer tones (made for a great loud and sometimes annoying alarm clock).
There are a couple specific tones that I would like to use.
They are located in the \Windows\Rings and \Windows directories as .wav files.
However there must be another list or folder that I am unaware of that contains the displayed clock alarm tones.
Does anyone know where to find this list or folder?
Thanks!

chenging ringtone - confusing??

Hi. I have a question about changing ringtones: Are there 2 ways of changing ringtones? For the call ring - start->settings-phone-phone tab, or sounds and notifications->notifications-eventhone incoming call. When i try to change the call ring from sound&notifications nothing happends. Changing the sound for any other event does work. The only way that i can change the call ring is from settings - phone. So i ask: what's with the event: phone incoming call???
The folder i use is my documents\my ringtones in phone memory. Thank you!

Hi,
I am trying to change my sms tone .... and everywhere is saying i do this via notification tone under settings and even apps such as ringdroid change the notification tone... but for some reason this does not change my SMS tone ... I remember I did change it once to bubbles because I was sick of my sms and battery full being the same and now I can't remeber how I did it
I am not usind a custom rom, just the stocky 2.2

Go to messaging app then go to settings, scroll down to the bottom, there you will see select ringtone.

vibrate and ring?? am i missing somthing

I am running the latest factory firmware unrooted with a s4, I am sure when I 1st got the gear it would vibrate and ring on calls and notifications now it looks like one or the other.
vibration is on and set to strong.
on the power off screen I can set it to sound vibrate or mute?
Nope you get ringtones or vibrate not both
Unless you choose to go with null_ rom, then you can use my widget: NotiCounter to achieve the sound and vibrate.
It also have the feature to let you select a custom sound based on what app send the notification.

all right, I give up.
I am on Null ROM & have NotiCounter & NotaList installed.
If I set the option in the gear to vibrate, then I get no tone at all even though I have one set in the Noticounter widget.
WTH & I missing here??
EDIT: NVM, I got it working

Hmm, that should be about it.
If you go into NotiCounter settings and choose to select a file, when you tap the filename, does a preview play then?
I was thinking if the volumes where set to low on your device?

Well, I thought I had it working.
I did get it to ring/vibrate on an incoming text, but no matter what I tried it refused to ring for an incoming call. I clicked the edit app & added incoming call, then selected the same ring sound I always use. The sound previewed just fine, I clicked save and exited.
I then tried calling my phone from my landline and it vibrated, but no ring tone. I tried redoing everything for over 1/2 hour & finally gave up & just set it back to sound & now it rings just fine again but no vibration.

I belive the problem is that the Gear isn´t handle an incoming call as an actual Notification. If you select a custom sound for a missed call I belive you will recieve a sound?
The sound is based on this:
When screen comes on a check for unread notifications is done, i the last count was 0 and the new one is 1 a sound is played, if last one was 1 and the new is 2 a sound is played and so on..
If the count is decreased no sound is played obiously.
So when an incoming call arrives, I don´t think it acts like an unread notification and becauese of that, no sound...

Nope, that didn't work either.
Don't worry about it, I've given up for now.

Yeah, it might not work as expected with calls and missed calls.
The widget´s initially purpose was just to show the number of unread notifications, the sound function was a later feature and works nicely (atleast on my Gear) with regular notifications.
