xdadevs yellow is ugly

by far this is the ugliest forum i've ever used in my life. the yellow is dull and brown is just... brown. how come there are no other themes to choose from? is that a part of the whole phone geek persona... a dull looking forum? i mean, come on, even hofo is blue and vibrant. hey admin, can we get some color over here!

Excellent point! I'm not sure what they were thinking to use yellow & brown. I vote to change these to something more vibrant and cool!

light blue color would be better.
(remember microsoft did quite a good research before adopting the color in winxp)
and yes, yellow is just too much here.

Just because everyone else seems to use bright colours on their forums is not a reason to do the same here. I like the look of this site.

it makes me think of poo and pee... xdadevs is a great forum but its the dirty toilet bowl of the web. lets clean it up.

yra colors blow.. green theme would be nice.. neowin.net has some cool colors to choose from

I would say stick to the current layout. First it separates itself by using this color. There are no issues reading the threads and posts. Unlike some cool black forums with gray fonts.
If the XDA community forum should be changed I think it would be best to start cleaned the threads and crank up the quality of the forum like it was over a year ago

I never gave it much thought. But now that you ask, Mmm, Ahh, Keep it the way it is.

Ah, come on mike. We all know Freud was full of...well...the picture you posted.

Color and design is not as important as content and easy load site.
If we want a nice flashy site it would be very slow...
leave it as it is now, it works great!!

Although I'm not very fond of yellow/brown, it's quite unike to xda, and therefor we should keep it. It works fine with text as well.
What would be great though, is to restructure the forum. Rethink what we need, and fit the page according to those needs.
There should be a difference between commenting and replying a post.
Relevance is the key to this jungle.

With re: Post i have to agree with orb3000 the forum isn't about looks it's about information and boi it holds alot of that....
Could be black with white text hay Denko7 it'd look just like the eye bogling blinding link you provided

I think the forum is a*s ugly. The colors are horrid. BUT it does have a clear contrast that you can tell what is what by first looks. I especially hate forums that are dark with bright fonts, and I feel that the theme on this site serves its purpose, as long as you dont eat right before browsing.
I say to keep the colors as they are, because it works, its easy to read, just a bit ugly. And that I can live with.

One of my first thoughts on my original arrival is this place is freaking ugly. Yet, the info I needed and wanted was here and it has grown on me. I love me some xda.

This is only going to help of you have either a brand new LED backlight screen, or a truly ancient CRT.
Having the background black on a normal CCT LCD screen just means the backlight is being covered up by a dark LCD panel.

The question posed in the title, "How will Google Look In the Dark?" My first thought was umm pretty much the same anything else lloks like in the dark.... Completely Black.
Do it now, turn off your monitor, close the Window Blinds and Turn of your light. NOw try and find your chair.

I see some people have a gay prejudice here. And this is very childish! Why not have something gay? Gay can mean many things including bright, fun and joyful things! Or do you think only straight people use google? It is very likely that even very, very wacky people use it all the time!

Wallpaper Needed Please

alright i have been trying to make this but my paint/shop skills are horrid. Anyways this is the concept.
1. Black background
2. Big close up of android guys face top half with his tentacles. You can barely make him out because its so dark. The only thing making light is his left eye. Which is the new droid eye. Its illuminating his face with tints of green.
3. At the top of the picture either in black or red it says "DOES" or something of the sort.
If possible i would want this for my phone and desktop lol. 1080. I know im being picky lol but i can see this in my head and i want it. But as said above im terrible. Im copyrighting this idea right now heh. Someone help pleaseeeee.

Can you clarify a bit about the first part of number two?

Yeah. I want it to be like android is in a all dark place and the Droid eye (the red eye) is illuminating his face. But you can still barely make him out. But you can see the eye fully like it's glowing. And at the top in android logo font it says DOES. As in Droid does. Hope this clears it up. Thanks for the question.

I'd be willing to give this a go as well. What is your screen size/phone? Also I think that if you're going to use the droid eye, maybe the android would be a reddish color. Green and red won't look that well together unless the green is almost non-existent(outline).

I think ill take a whack at this as well

most of these places if you contact them through email they will do a design of your choice. send them a picture of what you would like and they will send back a image of what it will look like. im new to streak so not yet bothered getting one from istyles but when i had a galaxy s i went with diabloskinz and he personalised mine with my name and the image i wanted for no extra cost. but he doesnt do streak

As you can see, this lucky guy managed to get and use the Nexus already. Discuss!

Probably a store manager who demo'ed it to some employees. There are additional apps, which shows at least a decent amount of time with the device. Perhaps someone carrying it around as a teaching tool?
I'm hoping it's there already though. I can't imagine it would be too difficult to go there (Heerhugowaard) and snoop around with some of the more knowledgeable-looking employees.

On my monitor it doesn't look that black, compared to the bezel. The Gnex in that sort of lighting would appear ink black.

I've heard this is the best screen for smartphones ever (on the optimus G, I guess its the same one..). So it should be amazing on blacks, whites, and everything in the middle. Oh, and super bright too!

Damn, it does indeed look like an AMOLED in terms of contrast!

Check out this table and see for yourself. It's definitely not capable of showing true black, but that was to be expected. The Nex4 does indeed sport the same screen as the [scratch Gnex, stupid me] Optimus G.

Remember though, LCD screens will be blacker in light areas, but in a dark room it will show that off black we see, more like grey.

On the second photo, there's a folder named 'LG' on the homescreen. That's not bloatware is it??

Is that a typo? Surely the Nex4 is nothing like the Gnex. I, for one, will glad to see something similar to the One X, which many declare has the best screen of any smartphone.

Am I the only person who can't stop thinking about the App Drawer, I mean, look at all those apps! They fit so many to one page.

You can use 5x5 grid in app drawer using Nova Launcher..
