I know that noone would be able to implement it here but just to explain something I was thinking about. I was thinking it would be nice to be able to reply to a comment in the marketplace and have it show as a sub-comment beneath the original comment and you can select it to read it.
My main reason for wanting this is just to spread the idea, maybe it will be put in one of the newer non google marketplaces...
it would be nice if users didnt post moronic, or rude comments. but thats life.
it would also be nice if developers had access to comments and who was commenting.....
truth to be told the people at google are working on "bigger" things.....

You are far from the first person to suggest these improvements. I can't stand that people are able to say anything they want about my app I cannot reply. When someone says something false I would like to be able to set the record straight and when someone has a questions, it'd be nice to be able to answer them. But then again, when someone has a question, comment, suggestion or complaint they should be emailing the developer rather than leaving a comment on the Market. One of the biggest problems I have is the outdated comments. There are people that give four stars because of the lack of a particular feature and when that feature is added, they don't upgrade their rating or comment. I should have the right to protest that rating/comment.
You can kind of respond by saying something like :
@usernamebelowme you are an idiot
Just got one from best buy today.....its the stores second day open and theyre doing them for 150quid...so i bought one on impulse. can honeycomb but applied to one yet??

Indeed!
I really can not understand why some people post things like this in completley the wrong section. I mean its as if they just randomly click a forum and post.
Ok - well its looks like ive been shifted here, again, sorry, genuine mistake - wasnt expecting the harsh tone though....
I take it this model is too new to have had any hacks/custom roms done yet....
Its a fairly new device. It has a different hardware and as far as we know a different rom. Wait till it falls in the hands of a capable dev. Although looks lije Gingerbread is knocking the tab's door.
hmmm - strange as due to the size i would have gathered honeycomb would the next logical step.
Yes, it's completely hackable. I hacked mine the day I got it.

damn forum nazi. we are simply trying to get info on our tablet. we post on the dev and we are told to post in QA, we post in QA we are told to post in Dev. WHERE DO WE GO! If it bothers you enough dont read it, ignore it, jesus, some ignorant people these days.
Now that this Rom/Mod is gone, what will you switch to? this was the first rom I used where EVERYTHING worked 100%...Now what? What is the closest thing that runs like stock with the nice extras?
thoughts?
Don't know, hopefully it will resurface before the next Android update.
Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
Waiting for the next Google OTA and flash only system. Only Stock or Cataclysm, nothing else is not an option for me. Unfortunately!
Maybe, it'll be return in a big way.
Hm, I just saw what happened to the ROM. That's unfortunate what happened because ultimately the users and the developer lose out. His critics really lose nothing by him leaving.
At any rate, I made a nandroid in case it gets revisited, but I wiped the ROM and using a different one.

what did you switch to? how is it?
I think it's either staying at latest cataclysm (which works great) or going stock + xposed and gravity box
Probably switch back to stock and deal with xposed.
What exactly happened? I'd like to save the effort of post hunting.

I've used Pure Nexus and Chroma. Both are very similar. Kinda like Ford or Chevy, it's personal taste. Both are good but they are custom so Android Pay will not work.

I like Cataclysm due to Android Pay working. Outside of that, I'd rather do a complete custom ROM.

Someone accused the developer of not releasing code or something to that extent so his thread was moved from "Android Original Development" to "Android Development". He probably got angry and asked the mods to close the thread. It's too bad he let them get under his skin, but I can see how it would be frustrating.

I tried to post hunt to see what happened and couldn't find anything. So sad. This was best ROM I've ever used on N6. I have bookmarked page on AFH and will check periodically. Beyond that, if nothing after February Google update I will be forced to find another. So frustrating to not know what happened.

There is a populace here in XDA that doesn't/didn't like that he got too keep his rom in original development sections without releasing sources whereas many other devs had to keep proving to XDA mods that they have actually written their stuff and not just kanged it from another rom.
And as a result he was time again asked by various users to release his sources to prove that he didn't kang his stuff from other roms.
The additions he had in Cataclysm could certainly be found in other roms and earlier too but perhaps not in the same implement or even code. Or perhaps it was all copied. We'll probably never know now that he got fed up and left.
A fact is though that much of what XDA is now is based on being open source (if SuperSU isn't counted) so I do think all devs deserve the same treatment. If some have to publish their sources, then others should too.
As a matter I think it's best left at these facts without any more unnecessary drama.
---
And back on topic. Both Pure Nexus and Chroma are good alternatives for users looking at a near-stock experience with some modifications.

If you read this you will understand:
1 - Apparently, some developers agreed with what's published here: https://plus.google.com/+AlexCruz/posts/FVbxmtyop7W
2- Yesterday, atl4ntis nexus 6 thread got moved to the android development section.
3- He immediately asked for his threads to get closed.
4- He published this on his pushbullet
"Cataclysm development halted indefinitely
Dear users, after spending over four years on this project almost daily, apparently i'm still questioned over the originality of it.
I came to the conclusion that this is not fun anymore and i don't really deserve this attitude, so i've decided to spend my time on something else from now on.
If you feel offended by this decision and you've donated in the past 2-3 months (unfortunately paypal logs don't go over), feel free to send me the transaction id and i'll charge it back, like already did for the donations received today to cheer me up.
Thank you for the great moments spent together.
Cheers, atl4ntis."
That's it, sadly.
His work was ORIGINAL, if anyone doubts that they are new or frankly idiots or have a vendetta. There is no requirement on XDA to open source your work.
I hope people who hounded him and forced his thread to be moved are happy. It is a ridiculous thing to happen to by far the most popular rom for Nexus by a very respected dev.
XDA mods should really take a close look at this whole mess and rectify it, no one wins in the end.

Thanks for the info. Guess I'll just be shopping for a new rom. This was one of only 2 roms I found on which my "Dock Clock Plus" app would work.
Also liked the aroma installer.
Oh, well.

Not really much point going into this. Whether his work was original or nothing doesn't even matter.
Fact is that he got treated differently than other "original devs" and fact is that because of this he got bothered almost as long as he released his rom.
He finally got enough and that's the end of that. Further drama won't do anything good.
According to @Neo, Original Development sections are being taken down anyway, if I understood his post correctly.
It's a shame..... Cata was the best way to go for me, too.
now without cataclysm we got only one option is left. EXPOSED FRAMEWORK and MODULES. individual module for individual features.
Anyone know how to leave cataclysm for stock rooted rom without full wipe? Can i just flash over it?
Does OK Google work perfectly on these (pure and chroma)? screen off in the car... I always had trouble with it on AOSP, not on cat though!

We already have taken a closer look at this. Now while as already stated Og Dev and Android dev having separate forums is over. All new devices will only have one section.
Now we will not talk about this but the dev has been given plenty of chances to that the rom was indeed OG development. (no XDA doesnt require the rom to be open source) The issue with that is without it being open source there is no way to prove that any work is OG development.

Everything seemed to update smoothly except one of my most used features, the mobile hotspot on Nex6. When I enable it it reports as an "error". Any help?

Flash the BlackBird kernel. His latest is as good as it gets.
Thank you to all who put a little time and thought into helping someone out. I guess the new normal is the others who have more time to critique the subject of a question instead of simply providing a little knowledge.
Owning a Nexus device period is enough to belong to a community of people who enjoy learning about development and Android OS and the capabilities of smartphone technology. Most of us learn from trial and error or researching the internet.
Basically I'm sick of trolls who think they are the public internet forum police, lashing out at anyone who might have a question that boosts egos which hide behind the screen of anonymity. Normally I can look past these acts but sometimes you just want to use the app or site for information, questions and answers.

Please don't take this the wrong way... Is not that people don't want to help, it's that some people don't search before posting a question. I've seen people ask a question where the answer was posted 1 minute before they asked the question. I've seen the same question get asked and answered multiple times on the same page. When you've been in a thread long enough you will see the same thing and you will say "I see what they're talking about". Me, I see the same questions, but I don't answer them with smart remarks. I just stay quiet. I've learned to search first, or wait and my problem will surely get asked about from someone else. Enjoy your phone.. And keep asking questions when you don't know the answer.

Well when I'm searching for one simple answer and I see that there's thousands for posts, then the simpler solution for myself is to post a question. My issue may be different than someone else's. Regardless of any excuse I may have I still do not understand what you want me to do. Why do you feel you have to correct the way I use a site in a way that does not affect you whatsoever. It takes the topic away from a tech question and makes it about your opinion , that's not why I posted the op. Thankfully there's those who are on here that will post a solution.
So now that I've taken a few minutes to address your concern the same way you have, when it's all over and done we have both just wasted our time. I am gonna take a guess and assume that you probably share your opinion on what you disagree on with other users. Its pointless unless the point is to get a reaction from people

Just so you know I will be logging out of XDA forums because the amount of troll activity is not even worth the simple questions answer. Btw I research way before I even consider asking someone. I posted in the ****ing Nexus 6 general troubleshooting, and I'm pretty sure my question met the requirement. You should be grateful that people like myself even use XDA at all for any information, there is only millions of other sites who offer the same info.

Again.. No disrespect intended... And I do love to debate( my wife says that I get on her nerves). I don't consider our conversation a waste of my time. I appreciate the fact that you addressed it. Yes, you can post your way, speak freely, burn the flag, carry a weapon, rush an old lady across the street, or use politically incorrect terms if you want. I agree with your right to do it your way.
People would rather spend hours debating and telling you to search for a similar post instead of giving you 5 minutes of there time helping you. Welcome to XDA!
I had the same question as you regarding mobile hotspot. I went into the development thread, I clicked "search this thread" at the top, typed "mobile hotspot", and had my answer quicker then typing a new question.
The subject just about says it all, there's been 3 software updates already.

I dislike rants as much as you do, but if no one mentioned these issues in first place, OP wouldn't even give a crap about them.
It's good to have awareness on the current issues for each device. This makes people post in the official forums and file bug reports, which eventually helps everyone.
The again, most rants should be consolidated in a few main threads, to make sure we are all aware about the severity of each issue.

They do give a crap about stuff. OP bug hunters have been actively contacting people who have posted that they were having random reboot issues, to collect logs. They were very forthcoming with the status of the investigation into the cause of the issue, and gave status updates about the progress of the engineering team looking into it. (Issues have gone for me since *.*.2)

There's a place to report bugs, you can't expect OP's devs to go trawling about the internet looking for random posts:

This way to much, while its a good thing to be able to talk about bugs and the community to make people aware of the problems I feel like most people do it in the wrong way. Post a thread explaining your issue in a simple calm manner so other people can maybe try and help you or replicate the bug. Submit a bug report through the official means. Nothing is going to get fixed if you don't tell the right people.
