How to go back to ONLY Windows Mobile - Touch Diamond2, Pure Android Development

I am interested in trying the Dual boot on my HTC Pure, but before I do, I am wondering what the instructions are for going back to the factory condition of my HTC Pure, just in case I am not happy with the results.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Does not http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=TOPAZ_ANDROID answer?
"1. How it works:"?

I think he means how to revert to the time before you installed Android, so delete it from the device, not just boot back into WinMo.
It's very easy, just uninstall the dualboot program and delete the Android files from your SD card, done.

Thank you...thank is exactly what I meant. Is there also a Factory reset button on the Pure that will do the same thing? Usually HTC allows a factory reset with a combination of buttons.

You wouldn't have to because it doesn't leave any traces, and I don't even think it could void your warranty (but don't quote me on that).
You can perform a so-called hard reset, which reverts things back to the way the phone was when the ROM was flashed. So you'll lose all data and programs added after that. I think you can access it by holding Volume Down while powering on the device. However, that doesn't delete just the Android folders, I think you can choose to either leave the SD card untouched or format it entirely.
I don't recommend doing a hard reset for the sole purpose of removing Android, as you might as well just uninstall Gen.Y DualBOOT and delete the Android folders, which is easily done.

The easy answer here is install android on a separate SD card from everything else. If you want to get rid of it, uninstall and then format the android SD card. From what I've been able to find so far, there's nothing left on your phone's internal memory after an uninstall (could be wrong, but it REALLY wouldn't matter).
If you insist on doing a factory reset to clear everything out, go to settings/clear storage in winmo 6.5 (I have a Pure, may be different on others).
From my personal experience, the Android port will be great once all the bugs are worked out and you'll not want winmo back. But for now, I swap between the two; for media and stable wifi, I use winmo, everything else, android.

Hard reset question.

Okay, the problem is -- I recently installed a theme on my internal storage, and no matter what I do, it doesn't want to uninstall. I tried going to start-settings-syystem-remove programs, but it didn't work. I tried running the cab file and letting it uninstall but it didn't work. So, i think the only other option is a hard reset. But, i want to back up everything on my internal storage. However, if i backup everything then restore, the theme will still be 'installed' correct? All i want from this is the theme uninstalled. I have the cab files of my other programs so i could easily load them up after the hard reset. I do want to keep my pictures and videos etc. Any ideas on how to accomplish this?
If you do a hard reset it will leave your internal storage intact, with no programs, or themes installed, you can then safely remove whatever folders/files it created on your internal storage when you installed it.
However you will need to reinstall each of you proggies as well that you need.
Maybe you could change the file extension, that could help if you want to delete the file.
I want to clear my internal storage with my hard reset, so if I save my backup file onto my internal storage, won't the backup file be deleted?
yes.....back things up on your pc if you are deleting both device and internal storage. PC backup is crucial anyway.
A hard reset won't clear your internal memory as well, you'll need to format that using the phone.
Well i want to format the internal storage so I have to go to start-settings-system-clear storage? But before that I probably should send everything to my PC so I can just send it to my phone after, correct?
Steps
1) send everything to your pc
2) after the transfer, begin to delete files from Internal using your PC
3) hard reset phone (will bring you back to manufactures specs with what ever rom you have)
Would i delete files from internal via my PC with ActiveSync? That doesn't seem to work for me half of the time.
To get the fastest response, when you connect the usb cable choose the Disk option, this will load the internal memory as a memory stick / flash drive in your My Computer, from there you can backup what you need and then format the drive. Putting it in Disk Mode is more or less same as ActiveSync but syncs direct with the internal memory chip so allows for faster file transfer
Steps one and two completed. Should I do a hard reset and press volume down instead of volume up? Or shouls i clear storage?
If you have backed up what you need, format the internal storage from either your PC or phone, then do the Hard Reset. Once done your back to square one, out of the box type with your phone.
I remember having a similar problem when I was trying to install a clock...
No matter how I tried to remove it, it just wouldnt remove completely. The name was no longer appearing in the "Remove Programs" list but there were still bits and pieces of the clock on my today screen...
Eventually, I just installed another clock over it and when I went to remove this new clock, it seems the uninstall process also removed the junk that was left over from my initial install... Everything was back to normal after that and I didnt need to do a hard-reset...
Maybe give that a go...
Did the clear storage, and walah the theme is gone. And opera now works. Thanks guys.
Glad you got it sorted mate, love how HTC make there devices so easy to manage, with some other phones if that had happened, you would be stuck.
Yet with the HTC I can flash ROM's as often as I like to try different ones, etc, almost change them as often as I reinstall my desktop and pc with all the beta testing I do. Nicely done HTC.

All browsers crash/restart phone after update?

I updated my phone to Android 1.6 (It only just appeared today for me) and now the stock google browser, as well as two ones I downloaded won't work at all.
The stock google one freezes then crashes, the other two reset my phone.
I'm not going to Cyanogen until I can afford a 8Gb/16Gb SDCard, unless its easy to put my swap, etc stuff on the new SD Card. What can I do to fix it?
So no root? Try to clear the data and cache for the browser first. If that doesn't work, it's probably time to wipe.
u dont need a large mem stick for cyanogen mod. I mean it will make it faster and all but its not required. I suggest u wipe as in do a Factory reset and see if that helps. I would do a nandroid backup first just to save all ur apps and seetings.
It's more that I'd rather have the SD Card at the size I want in the first place rather than having to partition this one, etc, then partition a new one later on and hope it works without screwing my phone up as happened to a friend of mine.
Seems to have fixed itself, although I can't download apps off Marketplace, I can live with that.
One thing though, I have a build number of "DRD20" and when I go to flash the DREAMING.NBH file (I tried a while back) I got a "Not Allow" error, what do I do if I try to flash it again?

[Q] Emergency! Cannot restore Nexus One!

Hello out there!
I sure hope someone can help me with this! I have rendered my phone completely useless. I have been working on this thing for the past 7 straight hours.
I upgraded to the 5.08 radio and then the MIUI_Au_1.1.28_R4_N1_EN-signed.zip
Everything was working beautifully until I decided to do a Nandroid restore. I guess I did not truly understand the function of this. After a reboot, I was back at square one.
I rebooted again into the recovery mode and then wiped and reinstalled the new rom. Now the new rom is giving me an error. I cannot get any network connectivity from it. I wipe and reinstall several more times and get the same effect.
This is when I get the idea to format and partition the SDcard from within the recovery menu. This was clearly not the best choice.
I cannot get the phone to restore back to factory anymore. The SDcard is empty. I have even taken it out. When it boots up it still boots into some non-working version of the new MIUI rom. No network connectivity. Where is it storing this? I have wiped everything possible. Played with partitions. I have tried hard resetting in the limited interface and in the Recovery console.
At this point, I cannot work on this any longer. My next idea is to put the micro SD card in another device and put original stock image on it. Is it possible that the new rom installed a kernel and that is what I am seeing? I figure if I can install a different rom from the SD card I might just be ok.
Any input into this mess would be greatly appreciated. Because I still have access to the Recovery console I know this is not the end for my phone.
Someone please tell me they know what is going on!
I would be happy to elaborate any more points regarding this issue.
It seems to me that I am not able to delete something because the new rom keeps coming up. Where is it booting from if I wiped everything?
I am at my witts end!
Thank you so much for your thoughtful responses!

If you can enter the recovery mode, you just have to enable the SDCard to browse it from your computer. From there you can push in the sdcard whatever zip you wish. Remember to wipe cache and data.
If you can't enter the recovery mode, go in fastboot and flash it again.
And of course, the ROM is booting from /system partition on internal Flash memory in the device, which you can't wipe without knowing fastboot/adb commands - which obviously isn't the case. Wiping SD card won't do anything, and wiping user data isn't going to help you either.
As already mentioned above, since your recovery is working - get into it, mount the USB-MS, connect to PC, copy a ROM of your choice to the SD card, unmount, flash it, enjoy. I suggest RTFM before doing things.
Gratitude!
Thank you for your replies!
I have been putting off doing this upgrade for some time and have been living with limited functionality on the phone due to the amount of time and research I would have to put in to make sure I cross all my t's and dot all my i's.
I was never able to get the MS-USB toggle to work. Windows XP would not show I had put a new drive in when I used it.
I remedied the situation by getting a microSD to SD adapter so that I could put the new rom on the SD card. I used the original microSD card at first and installed the MIUI again. This caused me the same results of rebooting a few times before it went into the rom. When it got in I had no network connectivity.
I decided I would try this brand new microSD card and put the EvIL rom 1.26 on it instead.
I wiped and installed the Evil rom on the new card and Walla!
I have Evil rom now working with network functionality. There must have been some kind of hidden garbage on the old microSD that was keeping me down.
8 hours into the project, I AM SO HAPPY TO HAVE MY PHONE UP AND RUNNING!!!!
I hope others may find this post useful!
Many Blessings & Thanks!

Complete noob about to put CM9 on new HP Touchpad

Hi guys,
I just got a 32 GB hp touch pad in like new condition for just under 200 and am happy to have a nice tablet in my life now. I am getting ready to put the latest CM9 official nightly on and have a couple questions
1) I have heard it is smart to "backup" your touchpad before rooting or flashing or whatever its called. Why do I need to backup if I don't have any files I want to save, and how do I go about doing this?
2) Is there any use for this supposed SD card slot? I have heard that you can do some sort of backup or flashing with an SD card to be safe but from what I can tell my device doesnt really have an SD card slot. There is this little thing that pops out but I dont think I can fit an sd card in there.
Any help much appreciated as I am about to get started and am pretty pumped, was going to use these 2 threads for instructions

I suggest reading very carefully and following the instructions EXACTLY. No offense, but you do sound really inexperienced with flashing and android. Then again you DID call yourself a noob. lol.
Anyways, You probably read backing up before flashing as in backing up your current android setup. Usually before flashing anything in android, its wise to backup your ROM in case anything goes wrong. You will get around to this another time. As far as backing up webOS, just backup your photos, videos, etc., stuff like that if you wish.
The SD Card doesnt refer to an actual memory card. It means your internal memory. So when it says, place zip on root of sd card, it just means put it in the internal memory. In android, its labled "SDcard"
If anything goes wrong, you always have the webOS doctor to restore everything. Good luck.
Thanks, I also found this site which shows to load a dual boot setup
http://www.webosnation.com/how-install-cyanogenmod-9-android-your-touchpad
, but what i only want one OS on there? Is there any downside to having 2, like slower performance or anything? I'd kind of just rather have android on there and have it load right up to that instead of having to select one or the other

You should keep webOS on there since it is the Main OS for the TouchPad. You will need it on there if anything goes wrong and you need to get into webOS recovery to restore the tablet. When you install the moboot, which gives you the choice of what you boot, you can also set which one to boot by default and it will boot into that one after a short countdown. You will see once you install everything.

[Q] Newbie- Need Help with Droid 3

Hello. I am new on this forum and I am looking for help. I am by no means any type of programmer, so please be kind, and if you can help me great. Right now I can use some help.
I have owned a Droid 3 since July 2011. I have never done any type of stuff correlated to the operating system on the phone. The phone has worked great, up until this past Saturday (09/28/2013). In the afternoon, the phone literally went from working fine, to only being on the "Motorola Dual Core Technology" Screen, and nothing else.
I have searched across a number of forums and ran across others who have experienced this issue as well. I have talked to Verizon idiots in the store as well as their tech support with no success.
I have read about starting the phone up with the X key and the Power Button, to get the Android Logo on screen and then to the Android Recovery where you can Reboot the phone, Clear the Cache Partition, etc. I have done all of these Multiple times... I have not done a factory reset as of yet.
At this point, I am eligible for an upgrade from Verizon anyway... BUT- I still have a ton of photos and videos that are on the internal memory of the phone. The few pictures that I had on my SD card, I have since moved those over to my computer. The SD card is currently empty.
Is there anyway that I can get a copy of the Operating System to load up onto the SD card, and choose the Reboot from SD card on the Android Screen to get my phone to start up so that I can get my pictures and videos off of it? Before Saturday I was able to plug my phone into the computer and the phone was recognized as a device...now the driver is not even recognized by the computer.
In my own opinion, it sounds like something in the Operating System of the phone got corrupted. As I mentioned, I am far from being a computer programmer, so any type of "Deep" computer language; it is over my head... this is why I am asking if there is a copy of the Operating System or Kernel, etc. that I can load onto the SD card, and then put the SD Card into the phone and go the Android Menu to Boot from the SD card, to see if I can get the phone to actually start up....
My apologies if I have not used any correct terminology but hopefully someone here can help me. At this point, I don't even want to use this phone anymore and I am ready to move onto another Droid devce. I just want to know if there is someway that I can get my pictures and videos off of the phone before doing the dreaded last resort of a factory reset. I have 2 years of my life in pictures on that phone... some of which may or may not be backed up on Verizon's servers....
Any help would kindly and greatly be appreciated.
Look, if you do a factory reset or "wipe data" from the recovery you'll lose just the apps, the settings and everything "OS related". Personal data will be untouched at 99%, i can affirm this because i wiped about a million times and always with personal data stored into the internal storage... if you're not fine with this you could try an SBF (a reinstallation of the stock OS, to be short) without wiping (i don't even know if it's possible or SAFE, but in theory you can try) and maybe it could fix the os problem you have... and if it doesn't go well, you could still wipe it!
I'll search the method to reflash the 5.6.890 update, and i'll post the link!
EDIT: Here's the link, be careful! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1686911
