What rom are you using.
the dudes 1.2rc2
Personally I'd recommend switching over to Cyanogen's ROM...its blazing fast and Apps-to-SD it automatically incorporated as long as you have an ETX2/EXT3 partition on your micro sd card...by the way, DO you have the second partition? Because if you dont, that could be whats causing your problem
yea i repartitioned using the app it said it was creating an ext2

I agree that switching to Cyanogen's is the easiest way to go. You'll just need to format the ext2 then flash the rom.
so when the app told me it was kaing an ext2 it didnt?
or should i just use cyan rom and try the appstosd again

I'm not sure, but cyanogen has included modifications to make A2SD more stable, less chance of corruption. I think you're ext2 partition is corrupt, but ext3 is better anyway. So the best way to go is format the card in your phone and add an ext3 partition yourself, NOT using the app. then wipe and flash the rom.

It sounds like you are using apps2sd2 if that is the app you are using to create the partition. If you are using apps2sd2 to move your apps that is your problem. That is why they said not to use that app cause its a different method that doesn't work well. If I were you create the partition yourself using any of the methods on here (I like using ubuntu, there is a tuturial in my sig) then move the apps with apps with apps2sd1.
thanks i tried cyan rom and it did it automatically
when i try to back up my phone using nandroid it would get stuck when backing up "system" and i am forced to do a battery pull!
its really annoying as i really want to try out other roms without re installing apps
Thanks in advance
How long do u wait until restart the phone?
Try looking a new version of your openrecovery, I use androidiani
At least 40 mins and thanks I'll try the link

This has happened to me some times. I've read in some place that it's a common error if you have more than 3 or 4 bakcups on the nandroid folder (it doesn't matter how much free space you have).
Since I keep 2 or 3 nandroid backups on SD, I haven't any problem with this.
I hope this work for you.

The same problem for me with Androidiani OR 3.3 and I have no backup on nandroid folder.
Nandroid backup stuck at "Dumping.." system or data till the battery's empty, and there no data backed up, so I have to use Titanium Backup for backing up data
Sometimes it works if you format your card and download a fresh copy of AOR. Make sure you backup your sdcard before formatting it.

I had the same problem a few days ago. just replace the current openrecovery with the FuFu one found in the dev section. And then copy the nandroid backups from the old recovery and paste them in the new one. The problem should be solved....

on androiid-hilfe.de there are also some people who have this problem too, but no solution at this time...
for some people it works when they have format the sdcard over the milestone settingsmenu and redownload the OR...
i don't have any problems with nandroids, but sometimes the OR just freeze and i can't do anythink, i think its an main problem, but don't know how to solve...
if you have a second sdcard, test if it work with it, may your sdcard is damaged...

Here's what I do.
First, download mini partition tool for formatting the SD card (http://download.cnet.com/Partition-Wizard-Home-Edition/3000-2094_4-10962200.html), don't forget back up the sdcard before doing format.
after formatting complete, copy your back up to your sdcard, and then copy the fresh OR (I'm using the androidiani OR 3.3 (http://code.google.com/p/androidiani-openrecovery/download/list) to your sdcard.
Go to openrecovery and do the nandroid.
On my case the nandroid backup is success.
Hope it works on you too.
Hey could you check if the Nandroid backup is created? in my case, the process stopped at the System Backup. But when I did a battery pull and booted to recovery, I found that the Nandroid was indeed created...
Ye it did make a back up after a pull but the only thing that was missing was the system file

I had this problem last week. The nandroid would fail when it hit my Ext2 partition, and I'd have to do a battery pull.
I put the card in my laptop using an SD adapter and ran a chkdisk on it in windows 7. Sure enough there were errors on the card that needed repairing. After that, nandroid worked perfectly.
I've had the error as well once before, and that required a bit more work. My milestone came with a 16gb card, but I upgraded to a 32gb card...still have the 16gb in reserve 'just in case'. And it's a lucky thing I do. I deleted my music off the 32gb card to make room, and then used the previously mentioned minitool partition wizard to clone my 32gb card to the 16gb card.
nandroid worked on the 16gb card without any problems.
So i wiped the 32gb card (deleted all partitions from it) and then cloned the 16gb card back to the 32gb card...
nandroid started working again.
Since most people probably don't have spare cards like that lying around, you SHOULD be able to replicate what I did by using a regular SD card or even a USB stick.
Hope any of that helps.
Nandroid never works for me also....

That will not delete the sd-ext and swap partitions if you have them.
If you have a card reader, you can do it manually by using MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition. I did it that way and had no problems at all, just watch out what are you doing
Flash Stock ROM. settings >storage>format SD card

If they do not know what partitions are, then why would they make them on their sdcard anyway? If they can't make a difference between "Local Disk C", "NTFS FileSystem" (talking about Windows, Linux can create confusion) and "Removable Disk X" and "FAT", "EXT2/3/4", then i have anything other to say then - go to a roof of a building and jump off it

hi
Do I need to partition my memory card to use custom roms? and what does partiton do??
I don't know what you're doing but I have not done anything special to my sdcard. Just use it as normal. On some other devices you need to partition the sdcard because there is not enough ram and system memory but this device is fine.
i dividing my sdcart into 4ext,2ext,and more partiones and my 16 gig sd now has 11 to use. so u say that i return back my partionts to normal and stuck??

Looks like you came from some other HTC phone (like Desire, just like me).
You don't need sd-ext partition to use with IncS cause this phone has enough space on nand+ram (no need for a2sd scripts), so just go to recovery (I assume u use 4ext) choose partition sd card, start from scratch and skip selecting ext partitions so you'll get only fat32 partition. And, of course make a backup of data on your sd card cause it will be wiped.

Hello.
My girlfriend's s5830i is always givin her the low memory storage error.
She has got Mindcr ROM, rooted, with apptoSD, and every app in the SD.
She hasnt got many apps, only over 10 (installed by herself). I have moved all contacts to her google acount, and I have deleted all SMS.
Can I made a partition in the SD for get more internal memory or something like that? I have heard that with ROM Manager app I will break the phone.
How can I solve this problem?
Thanks you.
Go into the cwm recovery then go to advanced. Adter that select parition sdcard. Then select the size and wait until it's ready. Then search in the development section for cronmod script and install it through cwm. It will move everything of your apps directly in the sdcard so you have just 1 - 10 mb use in internal memory.

Sorry, she has got Link2SD and every possible app in the SD card,I would like to improve the internal memory for put in the phone apps without limits of space...
Maybe some partition that makes the phone believe that it has got more rom or whatever. What do you have? When you install an app in the SD it takes some internal memory too...
