So for whatever reason, my captivate screen is unusable at the moment. Random lines show on the screen but thats it. I can feel the unlock haptic feedback working so I assume the only problem is the physical screen. I know I had texts that were unread, so is there anyway I can pull those text messages via adb or something like that? I'm not sure how to go about it.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.

Hmm I believe a warranty exchange might be your only option... From what I hear as long as the screen isn't cracked or damage (top layer) that it's still eligible.
Someone should be along that could provide more help then me.
I was wondering if a tv out cable could help you read your messages etc. But that would require navigating to the setting... Which would be extremely difficult.
Ok, I just cannot seem to get my phone to take the steps so that I can put a custom rom on it, i managed to get it rooted and that was it.
Is there anyone in the London area, more locally (Surrey) that would like to meet up for a pint and a rom flash?
My phone is painfully boring like this and now i just did the upgrade and my keypad is all tiny and annoying as well.
HELP!!!
Folks,
Need a bit of help here. N7000 just hit the ground and something cracked. It doesn't look like the external screen has cracked but the display is all kinds of messed up. I can get part of the screen to respond, but some of it won't...
Asking a few questions... This device has multiple layers of the "screen" correct? How can I check to see what is cracked, and what can be repaired?
Currently the screen has gone to a green hue, it looks like probable damage to the LED screen? I can receive calls, and my HS3000 was connected when it fell so bluetooth is working, but I cannot see any info...I can perform calls via the headset.
Looking to find some options and get an idea of costs involved in any possible self repair. Any other help is greatly appreciated.
This never happened to my N900. :crying:

It looks like you need a screen repair... You should repair the entire screen but if it makes you wallet bleed and you are brave enough go ahead and try open it,

Thanks. Yeah this thing is toast. I saw the youtube of the guy replacing just the LCD... NOPE. The assembly is almost as much as another unlocked phone. BAH.
So long story short, a failed repair on my screen at some repair store broke my AMOLED. So i was wondering if anyone is willing to sell or donate their ATIV S to me. I am in urgent need of one as I am unable to retrieve my crucial data as my phone is password-locked and if I plug it in, I cannot browse the files unless I unlock the screen which I cannot do. Please help.
You can't unlock by guessing the button locations? I mean, I've literally unlocked my phone left-handed (I'm right-handed) without looking at it. Maybe I just type that particular sequence more than most people...
Sorry to hear about the bogus repair. That really sucks...

The problem is the touchscreen isn't working. I can't even tap the screen. I need to retrieve my word documents, excel sheets and powerpoint slides and my photos which I was dumb enough not to enable auto-backup (other storage will rack up if you enable them). Getting REALLY desperate now.
Yeah thanks, those annoying ****s closed down. Don't know where they are and may never will.
Ive been looking for my answer for like 3 days i swear im not just being lazy. and i have feeling the answer is somewhere on these forums but damn so much INFO....
My display screen is dunzo and im tryin to sync my HTC DESIRE510 to my pc, The pc reads the device and opens the file explorer with no worries. However, the software im trying to use will not detect my phone? I dont understand... Im sure im missing some step here.
Im not really sure about the phone, im not super tech savy but its a boost phone if that makes any difference. Ive noticed the threads bout unlocking the devices. I notice when my device connects the icons flash across the screen saying usb and usb something else... but then like a few seconds later a litttle box with two lil like < > marks inside of the box. i dont know what this means... is there an icon list for me to look at somewhere?
Please help...
Im sorry in advance cuz i really think the answer is right in front of me but im just to nubby to know it
