I love the N1 and am using it in the car by plugging the headphone jack directly into the stereo for phone/streaming audio/navigation.
When a PHONE CALL comes in. I have two choices:
1) I can hear them crystal clear over the car stereo...but the cant hear me because the Mic gain is at normal level. Or...
2) Hit the speakerphone button and up the Mic gain....but struggle to hear them as it switches over automatically to the tiny Nexus internal Speaker.
Looking for a way to have headphone output WITH mic gain at speaker phone level. Anyone know of a fix/app for this? I havent found it after searching high n low.
Help greatly appreciated, I know there are several of us out here trying to find the solution. Thx.

Hi,
Please, I did do a number of searches!
I get sound through headphones and Bluetooth Car Kit, but I get no sound through the built in speaker, unless;
I push the USB speaker connector just part (not full) way into the socket. Sound is then normal through the built in speaker. Looks like a h/w issue and the unit is out of warrenty so any 'savage' suggestion for a fix would be appreciated.
I've tried searching the forums and can't seem to find anything about the earpiece on the nexus one. I current can't hear anything from the earpiece. Speaker phone and bluetooth headsets work, but the handset earpiece doesn't work. Does anyone know what could be causing this and more importantly a way to fix this without sending it in? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Well I figured out what was causing the problem. I was listening to music through the earbuds and instead of stopping the music then pulling out the earbuds I just pulled them out. This was causing all the sound to either go through the speaker or the headphone jack. I plugged the headset in and stopped the music, then unplugged them and everything is working well.
When I make/get a call while having my phone plugged into my car stereo's Aux input, the call volume is very low. I previously though it simply wasn't coming through at all, but I happed to get a call while the engine was off, and could just barely hear the call volume through the stereo. Even after cranking the phone, stereo & aux level setting in my stereo, the volume's still too low to be used while driving.
Is there a fix, setting, or work-around for this? I really enjoyed using this as my hands-free solution.
One more thing, when I use the stock earbuds with a mic that came with the phone, the volume's fine. I know the phone recognizes headphones with and without a mic from using Tasker.
Thanks in advance!
Hi!
I have a new car stereo with an aux port. I wanted to connect my phone to it, but I discovered the following issue: When I'm in a call, the sound is excellent through the car speakers, but the other side can hardly hear me, because the microphone works as in a regular mode (has to be next to my mouth). And when I press on the speaker button, the sound comes out of the phone and not the speakers (which is pretty crappy).
I used stock until recently, and tried it out with cyanogenmod 7 with no success. Is there a way to make it work? I don't mind using another rom instead.
Thanks,
Ophir
Nobody encountered this?
I have encountered this!
To my knowledge (though I haven't searched around THAT much) there is no way around this... sometimes when I have the caller come through my speakers, they will get feedback from themselves into the phone from their speech. I always just unplug my phone from the AUX port. Total pain in the butt.
If you find a solution, please share it!
Earlier today, I tried connecting my One to a portable speaker and the sound output was extremely low ( both the speakers and phone was at max volume)
But when my friend played through the speakers with his phone, it was all right. I didn't pay much attention to it.
Now after getting back home, thought I'd try once again, and when I connected my earphones, in the volume output is very low ( max music volume)
The phone recognizes my earphones, both the boomsound speakers work fine.. The only problem is with my earphone jack.
Does anyone have a clue why this is happening, and is it a software issue, any solutions
