When I make/get a call while having my phone plugged into my car stereo's Aux input, the call volume is very low. I previously though it simply wasn't coming through at all, but I happed to get a call while the engine was off, and could just barely hear the call volume through the stereo. Even after cranking the phone, stereo & aux level setting in my stereo, the volume's still too low to be used while driving.
Is there a fix, setting, or work-around for this? I really enjoyed using this as my hands-free solution.
One more thing, when I use the stock earbuds with a mic that came with the phone, the volume's fine. I know the phone recognizes headphones with and without a mic from using Tasker.
Thanks in advance!

I love the N1 and am using it in the car by plugging the headphone jack directly into the stereo for phone/streaming audio/navigation.
When a PHONE CALL comes in. I have two choices:
1) I can hear them crystal clear over the car stereo...but the cant hear me because the Mic gain is at normal level. Or...
2) Hit the speakerphone button and up the Mic gain....but struggle to hear them as it switches over automatically to the tiny Nexus internal Speaker.
Looking for a way to have headphone output WITH mic gain at speaker phone level. Anyone know of a fix/app for this? I havent found it after searching high n low.
Help greatly appreciated, I know there are several of us out here trying to find the solution. Thx.
After using a headset, the phone speaker for phonecalls won't work. I can use the loud speaker at the back of the phone, but not the ordinary speaker.
I got the speaker to work one time when taking the headset in and out of the phone (but not since, a week ago). Therefore I don't think the speaker is broken, but I'm not able to get it to work again.
Had the same problem on a Iphone (1.gen), but then I was able to get it to work again after pluging a headset in and out. Tried a lot of times with the SGS, but didn't help.
I tried to update the phone to JPX, didn't help
Just seams like the phone thinks the headset is plugged in even though it's not..
Any idea how to fix this?
When making calls there is button "Headset", try pushing that if it could help.
Thanks for answering. That button gives me the opertunity to connect a blutooth headset. Still no speaker sound..
I find the volume on Voice Command prompts extremely low.
The Voice Call over BT is fine.
Just the prompt.
Anyone how to adjust it. Usually I just turn volume up on headset but it does not respond.
Thanks.

Not sure if you and I are having the same issue but here's what I'm experiencing. I have one of those visor clip-on bluetooth speaker units in my truck (this one, to be exact: http://www.amazon.com/Motorola-Blue...&qid=1368373646&sr=8-1&keywords=t325+motorola). When I press the button on the unit to activate the voice command prompt, the prompt does not come though the bluetooth speaker. It comes out through the phone speaker and it's very low. Once I do get the call going, all sound then comes through the bluetooth speaker loud and clear.
I did not have this issue with my Galaxy S3. All prompts and commands came through the bluetooth speaker loud and clear.
Unfortunatly, I did not test the bluetooth BEFORE I rooted and installed ViperROM, so I cannot be sure if this is a ROM or phone issue.

Nope, but similar issue. It's definitely doing voice command prompt through the headset, it's just very low volume. Once on the call the volume is fine.
Same here, I didn't test before I put on OMJ ROM. I suspect it's not the ROM though.
I have a hunch the problem has to do with Beats Audio.
I have tried disabling beats with no change but I think it might still route through it.
I fixed it.
I think the Volume between the Phone BT and the Headset was out of Sink.
All I did was turn the Volume Down to Min and then Back up and now it's loud.
And it seems across boots.
I swear I tried Up and Down and got no response initially. Not sure if the OTA helped anything.
Even now the "Bluetooth Volume" does not always immediately appear on the screen when I adjust headset Volume.
Hi everybody. I have the t mobile moto x 32gb on ATT. Works great ..the best phone no questions. I have an older car with aftermarket JVC unit with bluetooth capabilities inluding A2DP(which works great by the way) but the microphone of the JVC is not good so I don't use it for phone calls. I had that issue before where after the phone being connected to the car and disconnected (when I leave the car) the sound is super low it shows max but it is not(the moto x has great crisp and loud sound both on the earpiece and the speaker), so I have to restart the phone and this will fix my issue..but since I am not using it much I was ok with it...Now I have a 2010 Prius with blueetooth handsfree calling but no A2DP(that is ok with me I can use the AUX). The microphone on the Prius is great people are saying they hear me great and so do I. But now I am facing that issue again..
Is anyone familiar with that ? It is really annoying that I leave the car where I was in a conversation with great sound I lock my car and walk on a busy street and cant here what people are saying no matter if I am using the speakerphone or the earpiece..I have to tell them that will call them back in a minute after I restart my phone.
PLEASE HELP !
THANKS
Anything ?
Try persist+ from play?
Bluetooth volumes have been haunted ever since 4.4. Hell... plugging in the charger when I am on my vehicle's bluetooth changes the volume.
Hoping this finally get this fixed in 4.4.3, but until then, I have found a number of tricks.
1.) There is a sweet spot on the volume scale (around 70%) that is best to leave it at.
2.) I haven't had to restart my phone... usually just cycling BT off and on again restores original volume. Sometimes even starting/stopping media playback fixes it.
I can confirm to have the same problem. Hope it'll be solved in next updates.
Hello, New member.
I have a 15.6 in HD portable monitor with HDMI input. Great picture, but not enough volume.
I paired my Jambox Bluetooth speaker that will normally blow you out of a room to Chromcast. with google TV.
Still low volume.
Will a bluetooth headphone amp help with this?
I don't need concert volume, but a little more would be nice as I wanted to use this as a travel movie wacthing device.
Any help is appreciated.
Since no one answered this, it probably is because your default volume isn't turned up. Go to settings, change audio to the default device (anything that isn't Bluetooth), back out. Turn up the volume with the remote to full. Go into audio and set the default to bluetooth.
