Hi All
We need a wizard ftp admin (maybe moderator) who will move files form the uploads into the safe area.
Any sugestions of users that understand this device and have posted more than once and also know how to edit a wiki page.
PM or post
Thanks
Don't wanna advertise here, but because I am a more then regular user of Redhat Fedora I've setup a sort of "know how" place for Redhat a while ago.
Because I have a HTC Wizard since a few weeks, I extended my website into a bundled website of know how's for Redhat and my HTC Wizard.
All stuff I collected for the Wizard, like reg tweaks, (free or trial) software, how-to's will be in here, just for a quick lookup for myself, but it can be useful for others too maybe, so here you go:
http://www.molski.biz
Please keep in mind that I just added the Wizard stuff last night and for now only reg tweaks are online, today I will also put in a lot of software that works for 100% on my Wizard.
Regards,
Molski
We have a wizard ftp admin
edsub has offered to be the wizard ftp Admin.
On behalf of us all thanks edsub!
Just doing my best, including:
- Keeping the FTP together (one advice to uploaders: Plz check back once in a while if your file from the upload sections is moved into a 'safe haven'. Subsequently you might want to update your link in any posts)
- Moving posts between forums (especially when they subject other devices as the Wizard)
If anyone has any remarks / complaints / advise, plz pm me.
Hi guys,
Well, I didn't think santa would bring me a Vario III, so I bought one myself on Xmas eve. I have never owned a smartphone before, but have had PDAs (a palm tungsten and a Psion Series 5).
I basically bought it for the mobile office features (including internet access email) and of course the keyboard.
My experience of the Vario III so far has been mixed, mainly because I don't seem to be able to get certain features to work. I love the fast internet access, the calendar and weather, plus the camera. I have also downloaded Opera mini, which is in my opinion beter thanIE because it gives you proper web pages.
The problems I am having so far are:
1. email. I have so far failed to synch with wither my personal email (with blueyonder) or with my office email. Moreover, in the beginning there was a 'set up a new email account' feature which seems to have disappeared. Do you think a hard reset might be worth a try?
2. video. I have so far failed to launch a single video from any website (including the ones on the t-mobile favourites. I don't know how to fix this.
Also, I have been reading this site avidly, but lacking much technical knowledge, a lot of it I don't quite get. So the additional questions I have are:
1. are there any 'must have' CAB files I ought to be downloading (at least to try them out)?
2. Where can I find the 'cube' which is frequently referred to on here?
Any advice on any of the above would be much appreciated.
Rienzi
1. (dont use email so i dont know)
2. http://discussion.wmexperts.com/showthread.php?t=148801
//fairly easy instructions to get alot of videos to play
---
1. Must have cab is definately -WKTASK(http://soft.photoracer.net/docs/wktask_en.html) its free so its cool
- Resco explorer(Not Free)
- Htc album, with the new Camera (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=355587)
2. As for the cube, if ind it pointless but here it is (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=354715)
EDIT: dont forget to tweak your Vario with Kaiser Tweak!!! or, if more advanced tweak it manually with a registry editor available in total commander. Registry tweaks are available in the wiki
Thanks ekw for your prompt and most helpful reply

With reference to emails---Do you have the t-mobile rom..standard purchase from t-mobile?If you do, then as standard out of the box there's an email wizard built in the rom from T-mobile. They believe the email wizard is easier to set up.
With reference to launching videos, and especially from t-zones, this will be restricted possibly due to what's known as "content Lock". Call t-mobile cust services on 150 and ask them to remove the content lock, this will enable you to browse you tube, launch videos an msn and so on.
Hope this helps?
If you need any help, send me a mail, got a few days off.

Thanks mobilemadness, much appreciated. I followed the instructions in the box and have subsequently tried all kinds of permutations, but still have not managed to get email working . I don't know if anyone else is having the same issues.
Well, I don't know if some of your questions have been answered yet?
1. email.
Go to Message -> Menu -> Option -> Add New
(What's your carrier, and how are you connecting to the internet)
2. video.
Download the Youtube plugin for TCMP (or use Dutty rom), or you can download Opera Mobile 8.65 and download Macromedia Flash. You play youtube from the actual website. But I still prefer TCMP.
1. are there any 'must have' CAB files I ought to be downloading (at least to try them out)?
Look at the stickies, those you will have to do a search. Search for a user name dutty, he has a good collection of cabs.
2. Where can I find the 'cube' which is frequently referred to on here?
Do a search for cubes; TouchFlo, is the one that came with the HTC Touch.
Friends,
I decided to go with netfront browser which I like a lot!
I searched the forums and author's web site and didn't see anything how to change default the web site links in outlook to netfront.
In the mscr script, this is what I noticed:
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\http\Shell\Open\Command]
@="\"\\Program Files\\MortScript\\MortScript.exe\" \"\\Program Files\\MortScript\\OMInvokeAndPasteScript.mscr\" url=\"%1\""
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shell\Rai\EFBROWSER]
"1"="\"\\Program Files\\MortScript\\mortscript.exe\" \"\\Program Files\\MortScript\\OMInvokeAndPasteScript.mscr\" url=\""
I believe that I should change this to netfront, bnut not certain if this is correct.
Please advise.

anyone can advise on this - appreciate it.

Guys and gals, I've just finished migrating my latest articles & Bibles from the last ~5 months into the Wiki (so far, I haven't had the time to do this).
VERY important: I use my own scripts to convert my HTML-based articles to PhpWiki (also using other, Web-based PhpWiki converters). Unfortunately, there're some constructs that I just can't convert (and don't have the time to manually adjust ALL the articles - remember, there are hundreds of them); for example, consequent rows separated by only one line feed. (With them, the rows aren't rendered separated.)
If you encounter cases like this and would like to read the original instead,
1. you can find almost all these articles in the General forum ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=256 ) here; you can easily find them by just entering a, say, sentence to search for from my Wiki article, only searching for my nick and the General forum in the Advanced Search engine ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/search.php )
2. at the bottom of many of my articles, there's a "Cross-posted to" section. Just click the XDA-Devs link in there.
3. alternatively, you can also search my blog ( http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/ )
I do hope you'll find my articles useful
hey guys, i recently upgraded to tomtom7, however, i would like to also move all my favorites from tomtom6 without having to manually enter all of them. where would i find those on my memory card so i can transfer them? thanks
omar
Anyone?
This is something I've been trying to find how as its incredibly frustrating, I can't see anything in the original documentation or anything on how to do this.
Have you tried here, http://www.tomtom.com/support/support.php?ID=2&Language=4???????????????
This is XDA-Developers, not TomTom support. Geesh!

Correct, and unless I'm very mistaken many people discuss various 3rd party software applications, their merits and also tweaks/twiddles to make them work correctly on their Kaiser, etc.
Checking the software forum I see various other topics that you could apply the same logic to.
BTW; TomTom actually advise to manually re-enter the favourites between versions, which isn't a very good customer support reply in my opinion. I'm now following a path which shows the .cfg in the maps folder seems to be the key to migrating favourites over.
