Figure out... A long story!
I bought a vehicle charger for my beloved Xperia X1. Suddenly, the fusible of the charger blowed.
I tried to charge in my original charger AND in PC USB and the phone showed AC indicator. But the battery was still being drained until it finishes.
Checked battery and it was in 3.7v (it should be 4.2v). So, o plugged the USB power straight in battery, to send 5.0v. Charged just a little bit, turned on the phone, then it was dead. Forever.
Ok, I bought a new battery. The stupid seller from MercadoLivre (Brazilian eBay) sent me a BST-40 (3.7v) instead os BST-41 (original 4.2v). Wasn't the same size, but I made the connection. The phone turned on!! Amazing. But, altought It was plugged in wall charger, the battery keeps draining.
I ordered a external charger and a new battery. It takes 15 days to arrive =/.
So, someonde could (PLEASE) use a voltimeter and measure the voltage from PHONE without Battery and PLUGGED in original charger? Mine is telling now 3.325v.
I'm still hoping that nothing happened to my phone...
Looks like my battery is dying. Its not charging, with both power and USB. Orange light is on, charger is working for other phones but mine. Is it a battery problem or the USB connector problem. On the bootloader while phone is charging it shows error that the voltage is low. Please advice
I have this problem
interrogation symbol appears in the place of battery icon on the top of screen.
The battery no charge with the wall charger or other charger
The battery can be charged with an external charger (without the phone). Once charged the phone power on, however appears the symbol ?. in the battery widget i can see correctly the charge percent
When the battery is discharged the phone no work, but if you plug the charger, then the phone power on, when unplug the charger, the phone powers off. (i think the charge port is good)
I already tried this solutions without succes
Flash stock rom with Myth Tools - AHD
Flash Cyanogenmod with recovery
Delete batterystats.bin
Calibrate the battery.
I can´t flash with rsd lite, get error in the step 18 flashing (have unlock bootloader)
I can buy another battery but i fear that no be the solution
Please help me
Sounds like a hardware issue. The battery contacts can be finicky. You need to have the screws just right or it won't make proper contact with the terminals and the battery cables. Check that first. Make sure the terminals and ribbon are clean. If it still does not recognize the battery, you'll need to buy a new one. If that new battery doesn't work, then it's probably some other hardware issue. Good luck.

i had an issue with the screws that hold the bat cable to the board would slightly touch the metal frame thats holds the bat in place, sometimes you have to loosen thing up to make proper clearance then re secure also make sure the little red protector is over the screws
So i've had charging problems on and off for a while but last night was weird. So I charge my phone on my 2.0 car charger but the battery percent goes down, then i get home and attach it to a 1.2 wall charger that usually will charge it. I wake up and my phone is completely dead, i did check the icon and it was charging when i sat it down.. I then disconnect the charger and plug it back in, after about 10 seconds the screen changes to a charging icon on the black screen.
I can maybe understand an app draining my battery or maybe my car charger not putting out enough, but for it to not charge when it dies is strange.

Check what mAh it is pulling in when charging. Download "Ampere" from Play Store. It will also tell you how much mAh is draining when it is not plugged in.
I had the same problem when I had damaged (cheap) usb cable.
try to change it.
Also you might have dust in your phone port. try to clean it carefully. (youtube videos should help with ideas how to clean it)
So like the title said i have replaced the battery in my P9, with an original battery. It has the same part number and all that. I have noticed that the phone won't charge the replacement battery, i have returned the new battery in warranty and revived another one. Same thing, the phone starts up as soon as you plug in any kind of power source to it , like a charger, but no charging notification. The notification light pulses in rare intervals (some thing of 10 secs or more) but it's not steadily on like when normally charging. And the most vexing thing is : if i replace the original battery it charges. Unfortunately the the original battery now has the bad habit of cutting out on me at random from anywhere 47% or bellow .... The phone is nearly 3 year old now.
Have you given the new batteries some time to charge? Maybe they were delivered to you fully discharged.
First one was on 85% the second on 60% or so. I kept the 1st one on charger for a whole weekend... Still nothing
Have you tried to callibrate the original battery (you say it suddenly drops if below 40%)?
Yes, I have allowed the battery to run down to 3% and the phone turning itself off. Then fully charged it while being off. So the original battery is just plain old, nearly 3y old. The problem is that the phone refuses to charge the new batteries regardless of original charge. Also it turns automatically on when you plug in a charger, not just showing the charge animation. That is not normal behavior.

I've done that after reading you'r message , but i have already done the steps not req root. And i'm not willing to root my phone.
P9 also not charging
Did you manage to find a resolution to this issues? I'm having the same problem with my P9. I changed my battery, and it now won't charge. It turns on ok, and everything seems to be working. When I plug in the charging cable, it makes the sound it usually does, the battery symbol flashes green but instantly turns white again. When the phone is off, plugging the cable in switches it on, but no charge. I've had two replacement batteries, both have the same issue. Also, the original battery is now doing the same. I'm wondering if I damaged something while removing the battery.

I think it's problem in charging IC or port.
Hi all
Had same issue with replacement battery
After replacement battery isn't charging. Problem is in bad connections
(probably from long shelf storage connectors got rusty)
Voltage was fine but temperature reading was way off (very low -2) and phone didn't charge battery
Problem is that there was no error message about battery temp.
After cleaning the contactors battery reading became normal and it started charging
Anybody ever had any solution to this problem? I have the same issue. Battery replaced - not taking any charge. If micro USB charger plugged in - the phone turns on. If it is already turned on plugging in the charger the screen flashes the % of the charge and nothing.
