Anyone get bluetooth voice dialling in froyo? - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've tried and tried with my parrot car kit, but nothing seems to active the phone (either the button, or the keywords), has anyone had any luck?

Typical, I really wanted this. I still get the same pairing problems (paired but not connected). Then after repeating the same process up to about 10 times is pairs and connects. From then on it's fine for receiving calls. But initiating them just isn't working for me.
So on the kits that work, how does it work, does it use the voice search (ie the one requiring a data connection) or the old style voice dialler?
Does it give you any confirmation before calling, just in case it's picked up the wrong person?

Works okay for me with a no-name bluetooth headset. I press the "attention/answer" button on the headset, the screen pops over to the voice dialing screen with some instructions, and the headset says "Speak now." I say, "Call John Smith". The headset says "Calling John Smith" and the dialer pops up and dials. It does not ask for confirmation, unfortunately (Voice Commander under Windows Mobile says, "Calling John Smith?" and you have to respond "Yes" or "No"); I guess they assume you can hit the "end" button and try again if it got it wrong. (I haven't used it much, but it's two-for-two getting the callee right on the test calls I've made.) I didn't check whether it needed a data connection or not; sorry.

For my car kit it does ask for confirmation. I guess it depends, which car kit do you have that your having contectivity problems? Foryo is much improved for me in that regard.

I've got a Parrot CK3000 EVO. Worked fine in windows mobile, but in eclair and froyo I do get it to pair and connect after lots of attempts, just can't get the voice dialling working.
I've ordered an updating kit for the bluetooth set in the hopes that a newer firmware for it may help. I'll update this once I've got it.

I also have a parrot evo 3k and I'm interested to hear what you find out.
Is there a consolidated thread with compatibility or test results anywhere?
I have CM 6.0 RC1 running on my G1
My Plantronics 340 seemed to work great for voice dialing, but my car kit and other BT pieces don't.
I did get think outside BT keyboard and BT mouse working

I am running CM 6 RC1 on a Dream, with a Motorola H700 headset.
I got them to pair up without any problem, and it seems to be working without a data plan or wifi connection.
However, I noticed a couple of issues:
1) The "speak now" prompt is extremely quiet, even with volume levels maxed out on both the phone and the headset
2) It only works if the screen is "awake", meaning I still need to hit MENU on the phone in order for my command to be acknowleged (not very hands-free, is it? hopefully this is a bug in Froyo that will be soon repaired!). This is a bad thing for me, 'cuz here in Quebec, you can get a ticket for inappropriate touching of a cellphone while driving.
3) If it thinks it has the right phone number, it says "calling {whoever}", and then proceeds to dial without further warning, which is dangerous since when it speaks the "calling" notification, that too is very low volume
Is this just my configuration? Perhaps a limitation of the Dream hardware? Perhaps (this is me dreaming in technicolor) a simple software setting that needs changing?

Kaiser: bluetooth stack problem!

Hi,
do you tried also a buttom to call with voice command application or a phone call ?
I've a HTC S100 and the sound is well but it's very difficult to start a voice commande or to recall last call because seem that the function "hand free" sometime is lose.

I have the same problem with my handsfree headsets an Tytn II (kaiser):
i have a motorola H700 and a Scalarider headset for helmets.
They are bot NON-ADP and thyey support handsfree.
Sometimes the button on them stop working and I can't do voice dialing with Voice command neither repeat last call.
They appear as connected and If I manually call a number they work.
To get the button works again I have to restart the phone.
Maybe a fault in the microsoft bluetooth stack?
Also: my Motorola H700 has a flip and when you open it the headset turn on and get connected.
You should be able to answer phone calls by opening the flip.
Sometimes it works, but most of the time it doesn't connect if I open it while the phone is ringing and in that case I have to restart bluetooth connection to make it work again.
Microsoft or HTC should check end improve bluetooth stack!
Any hack around?
Can't we put the broadcom instead of microsoft stack on kaiser?
I wrote to HTC Support about this problem and they answered :
"Customer email address:XXXXXXXXXX

The multi function button is the one small button with the led light in, not the big play/pause button.
If you try the other button, it should work.

Astonished!
Amazing answer!
Are they idiot?
I'll write them too,
I hope someone cleverer will read the my mail
and suggest the bug to the technical stuff.
I have a motorola H350 and have been experiencing the same problems. It's driving me mad. The problem makes the use of the hands free totally useless as it seems to stop working at the drop of a hat.
What I've found so far.
To get it working you need to turn on the ear piece.
Then turn on the bluetooth on the phone.
If you do this any other way it doesn't work. Once it's working you may or may not be able to hang up with the button. If that's the case it won't answer with the button either.
Once it's working it seems to work ok till either the headset or the phone's bluetooth is turned off.
Voice dial will not fire up until the main procedure if followed and sometimes it takes several tries.
I was wondering if this was something to do with the motorola but seemingly it's to do with the stack so getting another device isn't going to help I guess.
The bluetooth worked perfectly on the Hermes but immediately I got the Kaiser one thing alerted me to the fact that something was different.
With the Hermes, as soon as I turned on the bluetooth and the earpiece the phone would alert me to the fact that the motorola wanted to connect.
With the Kaiser nothing, even when I searched for a device. I had to find out how to put the earpiece into search mode before it would find it.
Very flakey and very disappointing. I hope someone finds a fix for this.
Anyone else experiencing these problems?
I've got an H700 and Jawbone. I do notice more crackle type sounds and lower volume on both using Kaiser compared to my 8525. The H700 connects within 1-2 seconds when opening it's flip and I have noticed that on occasion, if I walk away from the phone (eg. phone on desk) the headset may not reconnect when I return. The Jawbone has been fairly good at connecting and staying functional at all times but the volume is lower as noted by many people.
I would say that the stack overall is better than the 8525's for all the devices I've tried (3 headsets, 2 Laptops, 1 Garmin Streetpilot with BT Phone interface)
I am also losing the Voice speed dial & redial button from time to time. It also worked that way with my hermes, so I kinda get used to it...
I am now wondering if it is related to my BT earpiece (nokia bh-200 or something like this) of if it is the BT stack which has never been really working on all the device I could test (hermes, trinity, kaiser).
I allmost never had issue recieving call (I don't recieve much call while using the BT earpiece) but it is sometime impossible to initiate a call through the BT earpiece.
The simplest way for me to lose the voice recognition is to:
-Start BT on the phone
-Start BT earpiece
Phone recognize the earpiece, everything is fine
-Restart the phone
Phone & BT reconnect, but voice recognition & redial are gone
I would really appreciate of some of you could test my little procedure and report if it works of not. If it is working for some other BT earpiece I may change mine and get rid of this eternal annoying issue.
Thanks
Jabra BT500
I have the Jabra BT500 and same problem with the TyTn II.
The earpiece can't initiate a voice call...
Looks like HTC (or Windows), starts to deliver ROMs like Mr. Bill Gates does with his M$ crap...
If someone find a solution for this Bluetooth problem, please post it!!!!
Thanks a lot,
Kaiser and Moto H700 just do not work together
I also have a problem with the Kaiser and a Moto H700. The M700 button stops working randomly, the BT connection sometimes disconnect during the call at will.
I can still use H700 successfully with my old Nokia 6680, so the problem clearly is in the Kaisers BT stack.
I’ve made the BT update that HTC posted just recently for TyTN II, but it had no effect.
Fortunately, I have my old Moto H500. This one is working OK with the Kaiser, but. Like it was pointed here before me, the only way to get it working you need to turn on the ear piece. Then turn on the Bluetooth on the phone.
In case if the Bluetooth connection was disrupted for some reason, the only way to make it work is again swath Kaiser BT off then turn on the ear piece and switch on the TyTNs BT.
The Kaiser’s BT stack is not good also connecting with a PC, the connection is just not stable.
Just wanted to chime in and say I've had the exact same problems with my Tilt and Motorola H700 as various people have described here. I posted about it on the AT&T forum too, and no one there has any working solution either, AFAIK. I too tried the "fix" from HTC, and to no avail.
This is a pretty big disappointment for me; I love my Tilt, but Bluetooth is not new technology, and it's really inconvenient that it works so poorly on this phone.
Motorola headsets seem to have a problem with this device. I had trouble getting my H500 to connect and the voice button to work. Once I reset the phone when the headset was on and it wouldn't connect. I tried deleting and re-pairing. It took another reset to get it back. Fortunately I don't use that headset anymore.

The same problem.
But this time with the Sony Ericsson BT HBH - DS980.
I also put the "fix" from HTC, I gave them back and they change them with another brand new Sony Ericsson BT HBH - DS980, but the problem exists.

I just bought the same headset... cant get it work with the TyTN II - Kaiser but pairs without any problem with my TyTN I - Hermes... clearly it is the BT Stack
Way beyond my abilities, but cant the BT stack on Hermes be cooked into a rom for the Kaiser ?
I have a Motorola HT820 and a Motorola S9 both devices are working flawless with the kaiser.
Now i own a motorola S705 too , with this device my kaiser suddenly turn the bluetooth off (

AT&T Tilt and Infiniti G35x bluetooth phone workaround

Bought Tilt few weeks ago and found out, like many on this forum, that in-car bluetooth phone system was not working properly. Sound was terrible and microphone did not work at all.
Things I tried: Tilt with AT&T rom; AT&T rom withouth bloatware;jetBTFExt-1.31; registry tweeks. Nothing worked.
I still have Qtek S200 and it works just fine.
Reading few post here and there, I found what worked for me.
After placing a call or answering a call, transfer it to handset and back to the car system.
Sound quality and microphone will be working properly.
I believe the problem is in establishing proper connection between Tilt and car system when call is initiated or answered.
Bad part about this workaround is that it take some time to push those buttons and it very very annoying. However, before real fix is found, if I need to have a long conversation during driving I will use this method.

I agree, thats the method Ive been using, but quite annoying. However it is a lot better than holding the phone in your hand while driving AND talking. Hope HTC will fix this annoying issue.
I am using HTC Rom and it links with Mercedes Benz BlueTooth perfectly. It shows all my contacts infomations alone with call history od called and received.
Navigation/phone system bug?

Do you have a map screen coming up after you press "Use Handset" button? This is something that I have in my car (2007 G35x).

My TILT links fine w/the G35 but its the quality of the phone call that is terrible. Also I have heard of reports that the HTC ROM doesnt make the call quality any better vs the AT&T ROM

More BT + Voice Command issues

OK, I've read a bunch of these threads but I'd Like to get everyone who is knowlegeable about this together because I though I was doing everything right.
First off I am using Dutty's newest ROM that is supposed to have all the voice command mods "out of the box"
Second I have a sony ericsson HBH-DS980, shameless promo I know but, this is an awsome headset I love it and would recommend it to anyone (all I need is this problem fixed)
OK, for the most part everything was working fine at first. I paired everything and started using voice command with all my music, and random system info (battery level, date and time etc....) but then I wanted to start calling people from it and it seemed to work just fine. I'd say who I wanted to call it would ask for confermation then it would start to dial...then the wierd steps in. my headset then looses stereo connection (usually I would have it in stereo mode) so I'm looking at the handset (it takes a couple seconds to "catch up") and it says everything is fine untill the call gets picked up then it drops the ericsson completely it no longer has it as a stereo bt or even a hands-free mic. And to top things off the call just stops so I can't fix anything.
Another thing I've noticed is after something like this or even looking up a contact via voice for some reason wm and my bt don't like to "play nice" I constantly get disconnects and after a while Voice command stops hearing me through my mic (I know it's not the mic since if I reboot and repeat it works just fine) but it will work if I use it from the handset.
I don't reeally know what's going on but I do run S2U2 very often and I was just on another thread that was saying his problem was S2U2 and I want to know if anyone else has found that was the issue. Hell I'd just be happy to know I'm not alone. If anyone would like to offer help that would be great too.
OK, here is version 2 of the explination:
OK I paired my BT (I did this twice as a stereo bt and a regular handsfree) and made a call via voice command (it hears me fine and dials) after a couple seconds my BT gives the disconnect sound. After that the call ends. Not only that but my phone bars go to 0 for a split second and I get a message saying that my phone couldn't connect to my wireless internet. (most likely due to the "0 bar" issue)
After this whole thing I attempt to call (or do anything) via Voice command and it won't understand a word I say through the mic. Even rebooting doesn't solve this issue. I have to remove the bt from my list and re-pair it.
_________________________________________________________
it looks like when VC errors it takes my entire phone with it. Has anyone else had this issue. and BTW it doesn't seem to be related to S2U2 like I though in my last post since it was disabled
Are you talking about MS Voice Command or Cyberon Voice dialer??
Can you try with another BT? Just to verify that's not the bluetooth issue.
I have a similar issue with my Jawbone BT and the problem is with my BT . I have a logitech BT and it doesn't give me any problem.
Are u using s2u2 v0.99 or v1.0?
If you want (BT handfree + s2u2 + voice commander) all three together, you may need to give up the new version and install back the v0.98.
It works for me on my Elf powered by Cloudyfa's shadoW 2.1 TE
Hope it helps.
Cheers

Bluetooth stops/crashes when connected to Car kit

Hi,
When my phone is connected to my car kit (Opel/Vauxhaul UHP) bluetooth sometimes stops randomly. I can turn bluetooth on again with the commmanager and everything is working again. But it can hapen again after a few minutes.
Does anyone have this problem to or even better a solution?
I allready tried all the different Radio Roms, but this didn't solve my problem.
Well with mine i have some hickus but it just happpends once a while.
Most irritating about Diamond and BT in my opinion is that wa have no equalizing for it. and the sound setup from the begining is horrible.
Asked here if anyone has a solution before but none replied.
But as far 2 your problem no. And i use a Pioneer system in my car.

I have a Honda Accord with handsfree built in and I too am having problems. The phone and car both agree that a connection has been made but when i use it to either ring out or receive a call the radio mutes and when receiving the ringing tone sounds over the car speakers but I can`t hear the caller except on the phone which isn`t very useful. Would a ROM or radio upgrade help or is it just a compatibility problem

Thanks Mauser. I tried Jetware as you suggest and I`m afraid it didn`t help in fact I think it crashed the handsfree system in the car like you. This is the final nail in the coffin for my Diamond. I just can`t get used to it so it`s off to Ebay with it.

I am very pleased with my Diamond... I would sooner put my car on eBay than my Diamond
Did you try to check almost everything on in the advanced settings of Jetware? I have also limited the phonebook sync to max 5 entries to debug and on the site of Jetware there wat a fix for Opel car kits.
Keeping my fingers crossed, but until now I haven't experienced any bluetooth crashes.

Thanks again Mauser. I tried various settings but without any success, I think the phone is just not compatible with the Honda. Having said that I don`t have much luck with bluetooth at all on the phone. More often than not It just won`t detect other bluetooth devices and when it does it won`t send or receive files so it`s time for it to go and I can go back to a trusty Nokia
Problems here with BT connection to car kit, too. I'm using the built-in car-kit of an Audi A4 (standard one not that with navigation, remote SIM, etc). I've noticed the following issues:
- when I try to make a call, the CD is cut off but NOTHING is heard in the car speakers UNTIL the other party answers the call (and then I start the conversation). No ringing tone, no nothing. I cannot hear the busy tone, or network failure/congestion tone and this is annoying since I have to keep an eye on the phone to see what's happening. I found myself checking the phone when, after calling someone, nothing happened and in fact I got a busy tone and the call ended.
- sometimes, when I receive a call, the CD stops playing but when I answer nothing is heard from the car speakers but only from the phone (as davemazo said also).
- when I receive a call, I hear in the car speakers a "standard" calling tone, not the ringtone I have assigned for that contact
I have to mention that with any Nokia I had before (and still have one as a second phone), these problems do not exist. I know there is a compatibility between Audi factory installed car-kits and Nokia, but BT is a standard and most of the functions should be supported despite the phone model/type. I've tried also with an iPhone and it's working great, as my Nokia do. I don't understand why it is like this with the Diamond. In fact, I think it is not related to Diamond itself...it's doing like this with ANY Windows Mobile device I've tried in the past (Orange C600, Samsung I600).
Are there any solutions for this? A CAB, a new BT radio, a software, anything?... I don't want to buy a new BT car-kit and try with different models until I find something compatible
Thank you for any info/tip

Hi Rapier,
I also had a SPV C500, MDA Compact, Qtek 8500, Samsung I600, HTC Touch Dual and now the Diamond. The only one which gave me no troubles was the SPV C500, but I think that was because this phone didn't support phonebook synchronization and had no network identification/signal strength over bluetooth.
After the SPV C500 it went wrong. First I noticed that after a hard reset it worked for a few days. Later (about 2 years later ) I found out that it was because the call history was going to long to sync over bluetooth.
Then I found Jetware in which you can limit syncing to any number of items. They even had a fix for the connection to my carkit.
Unit now... it works like a charm... but keep my fingers crossed
I don't know if your carkit is a Audi UHV, but I saw that they had a fix for that too! You have to just install Jetware and then run the fix-file from your phone. Good luck!!
P.S. I am in no kind related to Jetware, I just found out that it worked for me.
Yes, I have an Audi UHV 6634. Thank you for the info, I'll try that and post the results here. Though, my car-kit is not the advanced one and I don't have to sync anything with it (contacts or something else). It's most working as a plain hands-free device, no extra functions...speaking of which, I've noticed that on the phone is detected as "hands-free"...why not "car-kit" as I know a car-kit has other functionality as well? This is the "standard" BT device for any audio enhancements (even if it is a car-kit not a BT headset), or I have to activate something to be recognized as car-kit?

my Honda system doesn`t read the sim I can only dial out via handsfree using contacts i`ve entered into the Honda system otherwise I either have to read the number to the system and it will ring out (most of the time anyway) or make the call on the phone (illegally obviously) cancel the call and then say "redial" and the system makes the call. So uless I`m misunderstanding this setting I don`t think it will help me.
I`ve searched the Jetware website and I couldn`t find a fix for my Honda
UPDATE: So...I've downloaded it, install it on my Diamond (including the extension file for Audi UHV) and...no change. Everything as before with both issues. Disappointed, I've uninstalled Jetware then...surprise. AFTER uninstall, I can now hear through my car's speakers the ID ringtone Maybe some BT settings were altered and remained like this after uninstall, but I don't know why it didn't work when Jetware WAS installed...strange.
Anyway, many thanks...at least half of the problems are now solved and this only by install/uninstall a program...that's cool. I must now find a way to make the car kit ring when I make a call, this is still an issue.
P.S. I've seen that Diamond support Headset and Handsfree profiles...and when connected to my car kit is set as Handsfree. I suppose this is better than Headset...but still no ring out tone.

Hi Rapier,
I also had a SPV C500, MDA Compact, Qtek 8500, Samsung I600, HTC Touch Dual and now the Diamond.

Hello,
I have a Mercedes car kit and facing the same issue as you: everything works perfectly for a few days when hard-resetting my device, even with my 500+ contacts (they are loaded in less than a minute), but after a few days/weeks I can't get to have my call history or contacts displayed in less than half an hour!
Yesterday I thought I'd just hard reset my device because I had this problem again, but unfortunately it didn't work!
Guess what I have done differently this time: yes, I backed up and restored my call history, which I hadn't done the previous times! So I guess it is indeed related to the call history, but I can't test for now!
I have installed JetWare and limited the call history to 5 numbers, I'll try this tonight and I'll keep you informed...
Hello,
So I have tested this yesterday (installed Jetware and limited the call history to 5 numbers), and now it works FLAWLESSLY! I can browse through my 500 contacts instantaneously when I pair my phone with my Mercedes car kit.
So, in my case it was also clearly the CALL HISTORY that was causing problems... A BIG BIG thanks to Mauser for pointing out this!
I'm also having problem connecting my Diamond to my Volvo S80. All the other functions work except that I could not hear the other party through my car stereo and I also could not diconnect the call with my car end key.
I'll try the Jetware and I'll report back later. Thanks for the pointer.

Please help verify this problem on your phone

This is such a simple problem..
I tried explaining this to HTC tech support but they only have AT&T phones to look at and hold when customers call in.
The AT&T HTC One (M7) phone uses a custom setup for its car dock mode.
I am asking anyone who does NOT have the AT&T version to do a simple car dock mode test.
Here is the problem:
In Car Dock mode (whether you launch it via the app drawer or you plug it in to the official dock which launches it for you) in the bottom right corner is the SPEAK icon.
Launching SPEAK will enable you to call someone or search for music by voice (simple) it also has confirmation though unlike Google Voice Dialer or Google Voice Search.
(there is no icon in the App Drawer) it is only accessible in CAR Mode.
The problem is when you launch it, by design it searches through your contacts and music for just a few seconds to check if you have new contacts or music since the last time you launched it and becomes aware of them. So when opening SPEAK it says on the screen:
"PLEASE WAIT A FEW SECONDS WHILE UPDATING CONTACTS AND MUSIC".. (not the exact wording but close enough)
(it also says audibly via the speakers "PLEASE WAIT" (again, not the exact wording but close enough)
Then when its done searching (about 1 - 3 seconds) it makes a tone and starts listening for your commands.
This works perfect and its a great feature when driving.
NOW HERE IS THE PROBLEM I NEED TESTED:
When a bluetooth device is connected it will hang on the screen where it says:
"PLEASE WAIT A FEW SECONDS WHILE UPDATING CONTACTS AND MUSIC".. (not the exact wording but close enough)
At this point you should hear "PLEASE WAIT" (again, not the exact wording but close enough) but that NEVER happens, it just hangs there until you disconnect the bluetooth device and then reconnect it. Upon the bluetooth device reconnecting it finishes searching and works without any problems.
NOW PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY..
It works with a bluetooth car stereo, headset, etc just fine if you launch the SPEAK app from the Car Dock icon. All is spoken through the bluetooth device and all is perfect like you would expect.
Its ONLY when launching it via your bluetooth button that it hangs.
So the audio stream is working either way, but its the initialization from the bluetooth device that causes the hang..
THIS IS SO SIMPLE TO TEST FOR ANYONE WITH A BLUETOOTH CAR STEREO, HEADSET, ETC. EXCEPT FOR HTC BECAUSE THEY ONLY HAVE THE STUPID AT&T VERSION AT HTC TECH SUPPORT (argh!)
I managed to get it to work back to back successfully only once but I can not get it to do it again.
IF I can get a few people to verify this flaw we can get a fix started via HTC.
I tried to report the problem to them but they can not see what I am talking about so directing them to this forum after others verify it might just make the difference.
Any and all help is very appreciated, thanks...
Really???
143 views and nobody can take a second to test this with their bluetooth accessory?
so sad...

Well, I don't use BT devices, but I have one here somewhere.
I will try to recreate the conditions you specified. I can only do it tomorrow though.
Anyway, did you try that with other BT devices?

Yes, it clearly states above that I have tried it with 2 earpieces and a bluetooth Stereo for a total of 3 devices.
This is why I need some other results from other HTC One owners with a bluetooth.

Sorry, I must have missed that. The only thing I found was "bluetooth car stereo, headset, etc".
Anyways, I found the earpiece but it needs to be charged. I will test it as soon as it has enough charge.

Well, I did it. And it seems you are right!
When I try to launch the Speaker app (in Car mode, obviously) it hangs at "Just one moment, preparing your contacts and music now".
I don't even get to hear the "Please wait a moment".
If the app is launched from the phone itself it works as designed. So, bug confirmed.
Unfortunately, I could only test that with one old BT car stereo, as I couldn't connect the One to the earpiece I have.

Thank you for taking the time to test this.
I did not get a lot of responses but you have confirmed for me that it will do no good to return this to T-Mobile just to get another one with the same design flaw.
I know the international versions of the HTC One (M7) are basically the same as the T-Mobile version minus the additional T-Mobile software.
The international version has been upgraded from 1.27 (that is T-Mobile) to 1.28 and now 1.29.
They have claimed in version 1.29 better bluetooth device recognition. (whatever that means)
So if I can just get the version number you have, I can confirm if this is still a flaw or one that could go away with an upgrade
(whenever T-Mobile releases them)
I am hoping you are not on anything other than 1.27 and if yours is indeed a non-Carrier specific version (international) that a simple upgrade will resolve this..

Mine is indeed the International version, but unfortunately with 1.29.401.12 firmware.
I would like to do more tests though. Maybe it's something we forgot to do. If anyone else could test this hypothesis, please do so!
As for the "better BT recognition", I have to say that it does find BT enabled devices very fast (although I couldn't find my old BT earpiece...).
bt fault confirmed
Just tried this with same phone and exact conditions. Can confirm same results and hanging.

Same for me...
If I press the steering wheel button in my car to open a voice command, it hangs. If I press the 'Speak' button on-screen, it doesn't hang.
Software number 1.28.771.6
This is an Android problem I believe. Google now voice search doesn't work when I am connected to blutooth in my car on any phone I have ever used.
So I didn't expect HTC speak to work either.
Sorry gunnyman but you've got it wrong, I am currently able to use Google Voice search just fine and I've always used Google Voice with numerous Bluetooth headsets & car stereos however this HTC Speak problem is exactly that, its the app itself that needs to be updated to work properly through bluetooth.
As for your Google search bluetooth problem, not sure why you're having that issue but it definitely works just fine. On the HTC One I have my JVC car stereo forward track button set for a long press to start Google voice search and I use it all the time in the car.
I have had several Android phones with Google Voice Search and its always worked for me whether its a custom ROM or the stock phone all the way back to the original G1. We can always use voice search.. maybe not voice search over Bluetooth since that was not available until later versions of Android.. but once it was added it works great, not voice dialing ( that still sucks ) but the Google voice search/actions portion. G1, MyTouch 4g, Galaxy S, G2x, HTC DNA, HTC One etc..
