Vogue Blinking Lights - Touch CDMA Android Development

Hey guys, I am really tired of the blinking LED light on my vogue... I don't mind having it notify me when I have a text or something, but I hate how it just flashes every 5 seconds... Is there anyway to change the LED settings?

I know there are 4 colours
- Green
- Red
- Orange
- Blue
Can we harness those for 3 flashes for TXT or only RED for voicemail? That would be great.

The dreaded 'purple flash of death?'

theres also a blue on for bluetooth, but bluetooth isn't supported in android yet for the vogue...
but the win mo app nueLED uses addresses and modes to identify leds
i think blue was address 20 mode 1
and you could also disable leds, such as the flashing every 5 seconds, which was labeled as the signal
not sure if such an app exists for android...

Technically, bluetooth works fine in Eclair, audio routing doesn't. Hopefully it will soon be working in tattoo and hero also.

the lights are changeable for notifications via handcent as well.
for sms at least.

is there any program out there that can just completely disable the service flash and just do notification flashes?

Yeah, I would like blinking only for BT / notifications. I don't know what the flashing orange thing is - maybe a service LED? I remember in Winmo this could be disabled in the phone app but I never saw an option on Android

it indicates that the phone is 'sleeping.' When it doesn't sleep, your battery life tanks. I'm sure it can be disabled in the kernel but some of us like that indicator.

good question- reboot. clear dalvik cache. newer (or older) nbh/kernel. remove apps one at a time. clear data. reinstall system. thermonuclear detonator. etc.

How do I clear my dalvik cache, I just noticed that my phone is not sleeping.
I'm using warm donut on sd.
EDIT: NVM, I just hit clear dalvik cache on the nomoroot thing.

How to disable LEDs?

I want to be able to disable the flashing green LED, telling me the phone is on. And I want to disable the flashing blue LED, telling me that bluetooth is on, etc. Is there a way to do this without also disabling vibrate mode (which I know has been an issue on some other phones)?
Thanks
Try this reg edit:
Hkey_Local_Machine/Drivers/Builtin/AllLEDMgr
Change the Index value from 1 to 0
Appreciate the answer. Works perfectly. Absolutely no LED blinking
EXCEPT now it won't vibrate at all.
Anyone know how to fix that?
How about KaiserNotifications for this?
http://www.modaco.com/Kaiser-Notifications-t259413.html
Kaiser Notifications (for HTC Tytn II only)
This program allows you to change the way the Kaiser flashes it's LED's when you have a Mobile signal/Bluetooth/Missed calls for the left hand LED, and New emails/SMS text messages on the right hand LED.
By using the right LED for SMS/Emails you can use the brighter blue LED to really get your attention should a text or email have arrived when you were out of sight of the phone.
You can also turn off all annoying flashes, useful for night time or when watching a video.

Sort of for AT&T
^This may work better on the HTC units compared to AT&T. On an AT&T device it does disable all of the LEDs without disabling the vibrate. However, the LEDs are not on the same side of the two units nor do they mean the exact same thing. Finally there appears to be a very strange mapping between the LED indicated in the program and the LED that actually gets affected. Definitely crossed wires a bit, nonetheless, still effective.
Hello!
Have anyone noticed that when disabling LEDs (using this tweak) TomTom stops receaving GPS data? Any other GPS software works fine!
Regards Risto
I installed Kaiser Notifications and it works great!
Ok, I didnt try that. I just tryed that registry setting!

[APP] LG O2X Touch LED Notifications

I've been using Martin Börjesson's LED Notifications app for a while and you can now find it on the market!

I found it's light on battery. And you can simply disable the notification part if you just want to recall the setting of touch LED brightness after reboot. It's free

do i need to set any monitor app if i want it notice the miss call? if so, which?
Can't make it work with DocSlim
I tested all settings, i changed parameters in Accessibility, nothing happens...
Have you tried a reboot (though mine worked fine without on cm. Weird..)
Very nice, works on the G2x as well, with cm7
it works on su660 (korean version of o2X) too. thanks for good information.
Yep !
I've been using it since version 0.2 and it works really good. I just installed last version from market.
To emprize : no you don't need any app monitor for missed call. It's one of the 3 basics (Gmail, SMS/MMS, Missed call). Look into "notification" if "Missed call" is checked (should be by default).

I haven't noticed any as of yet but the way the program is set-up, it could be a battery guzzler. This app loops check for notifications as opposed to being built into the framework

If anyone of you notices a serious battery drain I'd appreciate a post
anybody know what's the accelerometer tolerance for? i don't quite get it.

problems is that as soon as you have a notification, your phone will not go to sleep. And then will drain battery until you check your phone
Yea that's what I mean but you didn't notice a serious drain because of that?
Just to be sure, the screen remains off and the buttons glow it is simply that the phone doesn't go into "sleep" mode (what somehow makes sense)?!
Did some testing
And my sleeping phone (no notification) consume 2-3% an hour
With the notification glowing (meaning no sleep) for an hour, I loose 10%
The phone does sleep, the app has zero wakelock according to spare parts.
well, the leds are still blinking, from what I know (I still may be wrong there's no LG routine for the blinking. It does mean it's done by the "LG O2X Touch LED Notifications" so no sleep...
well this is what I'm guessing, since we do not have the source code
Just cos an app does something doesn't mean it has to keep the phone awake to do it

Notification led on the one

hi,
On the htc one x when there is a notification, the led only blinks for ~30mins before stopping. Has htc fixed this yet, how long does it blink on the one?
Can someone with the phone test this please.
why would u want it to blink forever? this will burn the led out before u know it
Burn the LED out? I dont think so.

On my S3, I can customize the color of the notification LED to distinguish whether it is notifying me of an e-mail, or a text message, or a missed call, or if the phone is fully charged or not fully charged, etc. Is that a basic android feature that will be available on the One as well?

It's a real pain it keep going out.
Does Lightflow even work on the HTC One?
Is that any way to turn low battery LED notification off? Really annoying
Send from my S3 (2nd HTC one goes for replacement)
So can anyone with the phone do a test? The led on the one x right now is useless. It may as well not have the led at all, since it only lasts for 30mins.
Just want to know if it's the same on the one before I pull the trigger.
thanks

Surely this is something that can be fixed in a custom ROM? I'm getting my One next week and moving from an S3, the LED is one of the most useful features for me. I can deal with the lack of colour options but 5 minutes is just silly!

Try Charging LED, it may work.
Optionally, you can define all batery level colour to pure red (#ffff0000), this is by far the less bright colour and you will no longer be annoyed by the led at night.

Recently the screen in my N6 always turning on w/o doing nothing

Hi!
As i wrote, the screen just turning on without doing nothing.
I'm not touching...Only move it within my palms and the screen turnes on.
Anyone heard about that?
Your help would be appreciated.
Thank you!
It's called ambient display. Makes your screen turn on when the phone is moved after your screen turns off.
Basicly a replacement for the lack of a led light(talking non rooted non custom rom here)
OR.. it could also be an app, thats turning your screen on. there are many apps that do this, you should read your apps permissions.
Just turned off ambient display.
But...does it mean that now I wont get any notifications during phone at sleep?
Tnx!
Ambient display doesn't use much extra battery, it only illuminates the pixels its displaying and it keep the phone in a low power state.
It is your phone's stock visual notification system, so yes if you turn it off you won't get any visual notifications. If your phone is set to vibrate or make notification noises it will still do that. The phone does have an LED behind the speaker, so if you are rooted you can install something like lightflow to use your phone's LED for notifications instead/as well.

I don't use light flow, but I have heard of many having issues using that app. what I use is s ROM that allows for colored notifications, then I set my colors within the ROMs options. BTW, pure nexus ROM.

oh snap, I just realized this is the same guy who was posting in the lightflow tutorial thread and was told how to do it multiple times.
He does not have "run all commands as root" check in the settings, and insist its not an option. He just needs to go through the settings and enable that like the popup window when you first launch light flow tells you.
You gotta look through your settings man. I don't know what else to tell you, I don't use that app anymore but I have. And unless you go through all the options in the settings menu... The app isn't going to be able to write to the kernels file system to turn the light on.
Maybe I'll just flash the pure nexus ROM.
I just dont get how to use this App.
Tnx!
I don't want to sound mean but if you Cant figure an app out I don't think you should be flashing ROMs

He said in another thread that he bought it... but that doesn't matter. I don't and I used it via the options I stated to have LED notification for basic stuff.
I have a question regarding ambient display. I know how it works and all that stuff, however, how many time the phone wakes up with the black/white screen? Because mine gets a notification, it shows it to me then without doing nothing it shows the notification again and again, every minute I guess for a long time. Is this normal?
Yes thats normal. Just like a notification LED will stay on, Ambient Display will show every now and again until you acknowledge the notification in case you missed it. Again, it uses almost no battery to do this, I have used the phone with it on and with it off and never really notice a difference.
