thank you, i'll try it out when i get home to charge it above 60%

you need to get extra batteries and wall charger off ebay.. i got official batteries from google and wall chargers and i always have 2 extra batteries ready to go.
here is the model charger i use.. not that thisparticular auction or seller. but that model.. works great..

"T" wont register when using 1500 OEM HTC Battery

So i bought a few of these batteries off of ebay and they are OEM HTC 1500maH batteries that come with the EVO. However when i put it in i cant press the letter T. i knwo this is happeneing due to pressure on the screen (its a little bigger than the 1300) but its weird cuz when i put the batteries in my moms incredible the problem doesnt happen. can someone please help me find a fix for this issue. its realllly annoying. and also i know it has nothing to do with the software cuz ive tried flashing multiple roms.
not sure if it has anything to do with it, but do you and your mom both have the same types of screens, or maybe one of you has SLCD, etc.?
I have an HTC Evo 1500 in my inc and T works for me. I'm AMOLED. Let us know what you've got.
I have an 1800 battery off of ebay and its a good bit bigger then the stock battery and everything still works
We all have AMOLED so i cant figure out why there should be a problem with just "my" phone
that's no fun man :/ just curious, what happens if you hold the phone horizontal?
Works perfectly fine. But I don't use landscape very much...

Have you tried using different keyboards?
yep. tried swype, stock keyboard, the ime mod. none of them work..

No problems with the Seidio 1750mah battery.
ok ive been using the stock battery due to the whole T not registering and i just got a siedio innocase 2 and popped it on my DI and the problem started happening with the 1300+ innocase! but now its even worse, the T, G and V wont register with the case on.. So im thinking about taking my phone into verizon and getting a replacement, but im not sure if they would give me a new phone because they might give me some its a 3rd party product bs and their not responsible for it... anyone have any suggestions on how i could get a replacement? lol
Well you said you noticed it when using an OEM battery... So obviously it's a problem with the phone.
Make sure you show them what happens when you try it on both you and your mom's Incredibles.
yeah im going to take them both in and show them. i should probably restore my stock backup and turn security back on before i take it in yeah?

That would probably be smart, yes.
so i brought it in showed them the problem and knowing how verizon reps are (they think wiping the data fixes everything) they just wiped the data, problem was still there and a new phone should be here tuesday. just crossing my fingers the same thing doesnt happen to the new phone.

[Q] Should I get the Captivate?

I am eligible for an upgrade and currently looking at different phones on AT&T network. Either iPhone or Captivate. As I have an iPod touch I am bored with iOS so Captivate is my choice.
But I am wondering that has the GPS issue been fixed? Although I do need the GPS 60% of the time.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.
The Captivate has become a great phone because of the support from many people. The GPS really works well! It will work more than 60% of the time for you. The Rom's are really great and we have several so that is positive. But if you haven't heard about the new Moto phone that should be announced at CES in a couple weeks I would check that out. I don't know when or if it is a true or just rumored phone but at least we will now start getting better high end options beside the Captivate.
Is the new moto phone for AT&T?
It is a matter of preference. If you are not one who is going to root your phone and get into custom roms and tweaks the iphone may be best, but as you stated ios is boring, and I will add rigid.
I had an iphone 3g for 2+ years. I am very happy with my captivate, but I am constantly tweaking, flashing roms, etc. there is no official gps fix for stock although some do not have problem with gps on stock. Custom roms have largely fixed the gps.
On my iphone the day I turned it on it looked and behaved the same till the day I turned it off, my captivate changes daily. 2.2 froyo is not available for the captivate, I have been running 2.2 for months through custom roms, I am currently on 2.2.1.
I can not stress enough if you want safe and easy the iphone is great. If you want an adventure and love to F around with things go with a captivate

Oh yes.. I love to F around a lot. I am a total geek and do crazy stuff with my JB iPod and computer all the time. But my current Nokia E71 is dependable but boring at the same time. That is why I want to upgrade.
I might get the Captivate from Ebay as I don't want to get into another Contract with AT&T.

Should I buy a non AT&T branded - unlocked Captivate from Ebay?

Not unless it is brand new, why take on someones problem?
It is easy to unlock if you wanted to
Question, windows pc or mac. If you have a mac it will reduce your ability to safely tweak.

Oh yea... I am looking at new in the box phones on Ebay only. And I am on Windows7 btw.
And how does the Offline GPS work? Is it reliable without network coverage as well?

I never use cellular location, only pure gps. Lock in less then 10 seconds, tracks well, turn by turn voice directions.
Once again I am on a custom rom

Someone posted the other day about getting a phone off eBay and the IMEI numbers on the phone and the box didn't match. Buyer beware when it comes to phones and eBay...

Of late most of the guys here have GPS working. Plus when I got my refurb Captivate with JH7 stock, I got a good GPS lock.
When u go to buy one, turn on GPS and check how it works. If it works, cool, keep it. U could ask the sales rep there to provide u a sim to test it out.

eBay Battery...

Has anyone tryed this?
http://cgi.ebay.com/1390mAh-BP6X-Ba...696755?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item3f027d29b3
http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-BATTERY-MOT...222935?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item230e90c0d7
This one says XT720 ---> http://cgi.ebay.com/BATTERY-MOTOROL...481967?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item45f9c9986f
or this charger
http://cgi.ebay.com/USB-Battery-Cha...312177?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item2561f628b1
The sellers have over 90% positive feedbacks so I'm thinking about buying 3-4 of'em. But are they gonna work on XT720 and do you think they are original or they will damage my phone? Can someone share experiance/oppinion?
I was thinking about buying this
item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/viewitem?itemId=230520180662&index=3&nav=SEARCH&nid=32177069293
But these ones are cheeper and look like they might work.

So it's like 3 times ineffician? *sad*
Thanks Mioz.
But the more important question is: "Are they gonna be able to damage my phone?". So I did some reserch and I found out that if you charge'em with 3rd part charger there is no possibility your phone to be damaged, as well as, if you do charge'em true phone there is posibility your phone to set on fire literally, if there over-charge microchip is missing or not working properly.

GOLD 2430mAH BP-6X BATTERY
What do you think about batteries with more capacity than factory? Could be dangerous for the phone?
Look at that one on Ebay: "GOLD 2430mAH BP-6X BATTERY FOR MOTOROLA XT701 XT702 XT720 Moto DEXT CLIQ MB200"
What do you think about that:
http://www.ebay.de/itm/3-7V-2300mAh...909?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item48410f7f05
or

I have tryed Li-ion battery 1600 mAh powered by Feipusi. It did not destroy my phone. But it did not work as well as the original one. The original battery works two days, the other one works 1-1,5 days. So I use Feipusi as spare.

Just picked one of these up

Hey eveyone,
Just wanted to stop by and say hi. I just picked on of these up on ebay for $165. I hope this was a good purchase. Hope to see you all around the forums.
Is that a wifi or 4G model?
I bought a refurbished one for $189.

I got a refurb from Dell for 135 so it was a no brainer. I got lucky and got a unlocked 4g model with honeycomb shipped. Screen is weak but otherwise I like it.
It is no comparison to my BlackBerry Playbook. That tablet rocks for multi tasking and the screen is beautiful but I wanted another one that ran android for some of the things the playbook cannot do.
when did you recieve it?
im curious what rom version is installed

should be here today or monday. it has honeycomb on it.
mine's a 4G TMO unlocked. Managed to upgrade it HC3.2 after struggling with fastboot etc for 2 days.
SWEET it came today. So far I like it. Man was it a pain the the butt to fastboot, flash CWM and root. For some reason mine would only fastboot or recovery when first plugged in to charger then i had to switch it over to usb on computer but i finally got it.
Which version exactly?
You can find it in settings -> about tablet -> OEM version

Why is everyone assuming software issue? Check your cable's condition, try another cable. Also try different chargers. Could even be the IC chip in the battery is malfunctioning only allowing very little current to the battery. Make sure you have a genuine battery! Another possibility is the USB port on the phone could be shot. They can be purchased off Ebay quite cheap and are a plug in type not a solder job which is handy, just need some patience=)
To be honest i have tried pretty much every rom/ kernel for the Inc s that has come out over the past year or so, but not one has caused a charging issue. hope this helps...

I'm in a bit of a pickle atm... My phone has now stopped charging altogether all of a sudden. one day it worked, the next it didn't.
I've changed battery, cable, ac adapter, and nope nothing worked. I had thought it was an app (Greenify), no idea how it could be an app, but i managed to uninstall that, and my phone charged..... but then when the battery was exhausted, it stopped working.
It's a strange problem. but i have bought another usb port for the phone, so fingers crossed that works, otherwise I'll be getting a new phone. I've been trying to decide between the HTC One and the Samsung Galaxy S4, such a hard choice!!
Yes hopefully the port is the issue. Get HTC butterfly s, it ass woops the One

There are 2 variants (technically 3 if you include Droid DNA). The HTC J Butterfly really does kick ass (CAUSE ITS GOT THE MICRO SD SLOT ). Sadly, it only went to Japan. The equivalent of that except without SD Card went to Verizon as the Droid DNA. And the international version is just called the Butterfly but I don't think that has an SD Card slot. :/
