this is what i get.
i tried changing the wifi module file on /system/lib/modules but it didnt work
i am using cm5.0.7.1, tried froyo, 5.0.6
and im still on 4.04.00.03_2 radio

Make sure you use the correct ko file for your kernel and the correct radio for the build (don't use the froyo radio on 2.1 rom).
Why does it say beautiful wifi widget, try from the settings instead.

i tried changing ko file because wifi didnt work from the fresh cm5.0.7.
and these new ones i tried didnt work neither.
and the radio is the one cm provided on the forum with 5.0.7.
i dont know why beautiful widget is reacting to the changing wifi status from settings..

The ko file has to match the build of the kernel, so every kernel will have to change the wifi module to match it. There isn't one ko file that will work for multiple kernels.

i already know that but i was trying everything i could read on the google.
so i put the stock ko file from cm back. still not working tho

This looks hella dope. I can't wait to flash that come tomorrow!
Nice work!
Flashing this as soon as I get to a pc sometime tomorrow
Really nice theme- I like the fact that you broke up the components into thier own flashable "modules"- Chris
Flashing right now...
Opps...huge issue with it not loading, but I didn't download the Non-Stericson version & only the SL version. Had issues there, which was my fault, but figured that out.
From the G1 to the DrXid boot screen, 2 min wait. Nice Boot screen! and I had about a 5 min load time.
I love the custom icons and everything seems to flow really well, and the notification drop-down looks awesome as well.
Looks awesome and great job!! Keep up the great work!
Couple issues:
I didn't have a SLockscreen originally, and when I try flashing yours, my G1 hangs on the G1 screen.
I wasn't able to install the BlackSteel.zip... "E: No Signature (15 files)"
Any chance you'll be adding a custom Advanced Launcher? (I re-installed Enoch's AL for now, which looks fine with your theme!)

Hey Guys!
I have a problem installing this Theme on my G1 / Dream.
I'm using Krankis Mod R2 CM 4.2.11.1, Recovery is Ra-dream-v1.52
My Problem is, after flashing the Theme my G1 stucks on "G1"-Screen. I tried complete wipe, formating ext, and several reinstallations of Krankis Mod. Doesn't help.
Logcat shows, that my device tries to boot, but there is an error forcing VM to shut down. Then it starts again and is trapped in a loop.
Here is a part of the log, first try to boot after flashing:
Code:

Any chance you are using the one with the lockscreen? I was having the same issue with mine, because I don't have the lockscreen originally installed. (if I'm wrong, sorry, but I had the same experience).

Market stuck installing

I hope i put this in the right section.
Long and short yesterday I started having market issues where anything I would install would get stuck on installing on the market app but in the notification bar it would say it was installed. I figured something was screwy so i did a full wipe and installed another Rom. The issue repeated itself on the next 3 Roms i tried even when i went back to a 2.1 build.
I also noticed that my phone likes to remove the stuck on installing app's on a reboot. I am not using Apps2Sd.
Is anyone else having this problem? I did a few searches but could not come up with a solution.
Had the same/similar problem with the OTA froyo build (stock), Apps would constantly report they had failed to download, and market would crash if i tried cancel a download while another was running.
The second ota update FRF91 appears to have fixed the problem for me, so may be worth looking for a rom that incorporate's the changes
Tried a few more Rom's they all seem to have this issue.
I have done full wipes and this issue persists I am completely at a loss.
yep i have the same issue. did you by chance install cyanogenmod 6.0 alpha 1? thats when it first started for me.
Now even after going back to stock froyo the issue is still there after wiping.
workaround is to kill the market app, but that doesn't solve the issue. I think something is stuck on the google server side.
If I sign in with a different google account, things are fine.
Yes I did install cm6 alpha 1. And you are right I noticed the issue from that point on. It is very frustrating as out seems to have screwed up my google account going forward.
Hopefully someone comes up with a fix for this issue.
My problem is a Server Error on the download tab, but same symptom in that using a different google account after a wipe causes NO problems.
If a wipe doesn't fix it, how is this not a google server problem? And who on earth at Google could fix it? (or would given that we're not on the 100% stock reservation?)
Randy
following the instructions in this thread fixes the issue for me.
Basically, replacing the vending_preferences.xml file
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=689133
I've attached the file I use to this thread.
Rename it to vending_preferences.xml and push it to /data/data/com.android.vending/shared_prefs/
+1 cyan alpha had the same problem so I decided to revert back to my previous froyo rom. None of em fixed the problem. Not even the frf91 like the previous poster suggested. Ill delete some stuff in the SD uncheck back up files from privacy setting and see if anything works.

Same for me!!!
Did you kill the market app afterwards?
I'm not sure what your server issue is, but modified vending_preferences.xml did fix my issue with installing apps getting stuck.
Don't have to reboot phone to fix it though, just have to forcestop from applications setting.
Same problem:
(can't post outside links, but go to google's android support forum and look at thread ID 3e3a6c8eadb9acbd - or search for the subject "After 2.2 Update, missing "Top Paid" button from market")
www . google . com / support / forum / p / android / thread?tid=3e3a6c8eadb9acbd&hl=en
I'm betting if you factory reset the phone and sign into a different google account the problem will be fixed. Something got wacked with my primary google account when I signed in after installing FRF85B, and now it's permanently stuck, even after rolling back to ERD79.
Don't know if it will help the gurus here, but this is what I get when I launch Market with my primary account:

Same exact errors for me too.
I am having the same issue with an EVO running the latest stock 2.1 ROM w/ current updates. I am going to try and sign in with a new Gmail account and see if that fixes it for me. I'll edit my post with results.
Here's another thread in the market forum, with a less-than-stellar Google response:
www . google . com / support / forum / p / Android+Market / thread?tid=3ca03be96dee2acf&hl=en
I have the exact same errors.
This is very frustrating as I know it seems like only a minor irritant but who knows what else this issue can effect.
vendor fix did not work for my "market stuck on installing" issue.
To the posted who said sign in on another gmail account do you mean sign in on another then sign back to your old one?

Unfortunately No - I can't sign into my main account at all (either first thing after a factory refresh, or as a secondary account later on). Once my phone talks to my primary account in any way, the "top paid" tab disappears, and the problems begin.

AOSP builds and SetupWizard.apk

PS: Should t be in development?
Hi,
I'm working on my AOSP branch of my ROM but I get a weired problem that I cannot solve since almost a week.
So I check'ed out the AOSP code from scrach and try it.
I/ Point #1: It hangs
Here is what happens:
- compile
- flash
- flash gapps-up frf91
- reboot
Now SetupWizard.apk hangs for ever on the "Signing in..." screen.
I tried branches: froyo, android-2.2_r1 and android-2.2_r1.1... all the same.
adb logcat shows me:
Code:
I/SetupWizard( 211): Got response: SUCCESS
D/SetupWizard( 211): in mWaitForAndroidId.run()
D/GoogleLoginService( 211): in waitForAndroidId result=0
D/SetupWizard( 211): waitForAndroidId returned: 0
then
Code:
D/MobileDataStateTracker( 83): replacing old mInterfaceName (rmnet0) with rmnet0 for hipri
D/MobileDataStateTracker( 83): default Received state= CONNECTED, old= CONNECTED, reason= (unspecified), apnTypeList= default
D/NetworkLocationProvider( 83): onDataConnectionStateChanged 3
D/MobileDataStateTracker( 83): replacing old mInterfaceName (rmnet0) with rmnet0 for hipri
D/MobileDataStateTracker( 83): default Received state= CONNECTED, old= CONNECTED, reason= (unspecified), apnTypeList= default
D/NetworkLocationProvider( 83): onDataConnectionStateChanged 3
D/SntpClient( 83): request time failed: java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Connection timed out
Over and over and over again...
II/ Point #2: It partially worked
Then I do a hard reboot.
When it reboots, I go to Settings, accounts etc.
From there I can see my account... sync is on so I click on it:
- Contacts: OFF
- Gmail: OFF
- Picasa: ON
- Calendar: ON
I tried douzens of times and no matter the time I wait on the "Signing in screen", I always get the same logcat and results.
Please, help me guess what's wrong.

What could I do wrong by building strict from AOSP?

Yeah I'm trying thanks bro!
I'm wondering... if "@null" was in place, does it means my AOSP build was not using NetworkLocation.apk ?
Because I saw on CM' git repo and its: "@null" and "@null"... wonder how CM get it working

i think he has it in the vendor overlay. if "@null" is in place it will not use any network location
Well still not a go.
I'm having the same sockets timeouts...
When logging from the "normal" way and when logging in the "browser" way (menu then "Browser sign-in"):
D/Genie ( 540): Can not get the location from network
D/SntpClient( 89): request time failed: java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Connection timed out
...
Here is the fix!
Thanks to Jr33 !!!
In order to get the SetupWizard.apk properly working when building from AOSP, in my case, android-2.2_r1.1 (full-passion-eng), you need to merge this:
And it simply works!
Thanks to Jr33 !!!
I actually spent 7 days on that issue...

[Q] Wifi error after rooting and A2SD install

Problem: Can't enable WiFi or WiFi hotspot. Status shows "Error."
I have full nandroid and Titanium backups from prior to this "opportunity" occurring, but I thought I'd toss it out to you first.
Question: Do you have any suggestions as to how I might resolve this error without having to revert to a backup or what part of the process below is the cause of the error?
Phone Stats:
AT&T banded Nexus One
Android version 2.2.1
Baseband version 32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.12_7
Kernel version 2.6.32.9-27227-g3c98b0d
Build number FRG83D
Note: GPS, GSM, and Bluetooth are working fine.
Procedure leading to DOH! moment:
1. Used "RageAgainstTheCage" method of rooting without unlocking bootloader.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=8300203&postcount=55
2. Flashed RA-nexus-v2.1.1 as recovery image. (Had to do this through terminal app due to signature verification error that would occur when attempting through adb.)
3. Took a nanadroid backup.
4. Took a full Titanium backup.
5. Backed up SD onto computer
6. Used recovery mode to partition 16 GB SD card into approximately 8 GB ext and 8 GB fat.
7. Renamed /system/etc/install-recovery.sh to install-recovery.sh.disabled - Was having an issue with the new recovery image not "sticking," and I found this suggestion online.
8. Used recovery mode to upgrade from ext2 to ext3.
9. Installed Darktremor Apps2SD 2.7.5.2
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7021325&postcount=2
10. Flashed a new boot.img to resolve an issue with the ext partition not mounting. (Had to do this through terminal app due to signature verification error that would occur when attempting through adb.)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=711621
11. Copied all files back over to SD card from computer.
12. Verified all apps working without having to restore anything from Titanium.
13. Four hours later...DOH! Realized my wifi was no longer working. Not sure when it quit.
14. Cleared all caches in recovery mode.
15. Pulled battery for 60 seconds.
16. Tried applications "Fix My WiFi" and "WeFi."
17. Pulled the following from "aLogcat" as I attempted to enable wifi repeatedly through the Settings menu:

Try the kernel from here:
http://droidbasement.com/db-blog/?p=1377
Remember to turn off WIFI before you flash a kernel.
Wifi driver is integrated into Android kernel, so a later version of the driver may solve the problem..
Since I'm not running a custom ROM, and I need my camera as much as I need wifi, I don't think I'll be able to use this one. But thanks for the info, I'll dig around and see if I can find a kernel that will suit my needs.
"Camera will not work unless you are using CM6, CM6 Nightly or Enom’s Latest"
Well, I decided to bite the bullet and unlock the bootloader and load up the latest CM ROM. Everything is working like a champ now.

First and easiest thing to try is to do a factory wipe right now to go back to your current base ROM. Don't install any apps. Does the problem happen? If not, next test..
Flash a STABLE ROM and DON'T install any other apps, does it happen? If no reboots, install your apps (manually from the market). Is it still okay? Next test..
Flash the ROM you were having trouble with again, with no apps, does it happen? Install your apps (manually from the market), does it happen?
You can't start guessing unless you narrow the problem. It's simple to do. Of course each time you flash a ROM, wipe data etc.. Start fresh.
When it reboots, open Command prompt in Windows and write: adb bugreport.
Look for the line containing "ARM9". Something like "ARM9 has crashed".
If you find it - return the phone, it's bad.
tried everything its a hardware issue .. how can i repair it?? help
What's up everyone
My GN1 started having the problem way before I got Gingerbread. My phone is all stock, never rooted.
I tried isolating the problem to an app or an specific thing I did to cause it to reboot.
Then I was able to confirm that the problem happens w/ the phone is charging either wall charger or USB cable . When the phone charges and I use a lot of data (browsing, youtube, IM, FB, etc.) mostly during heavy data connection use the phone will restart. None of this happens when the phone is unplugged.
Also I thought that it could've been an overheating problem but the phone runs cool, a bit warmer when charging but nothing abnormal.
Give this a try and might be the problem that you are having.
I'm having the same problem since some days!!!
And I really don't know what to do, cause I've tried ALL sort of procedure! :'-(
I have an unlocked bootloader so it'll be a problem for the Repair Service? I'm ita.
Thanks!

rebooting randomly
Hi, i have the same issues here with my nexus one... i had in the past, unlocked, rooted and installed CM6, wasnt having any issues at all... but since i installed CM7, troubles started...
this week, i've done some work on that little phone... re-installed stock image, updated to 2.3.4 from OTA, done nothing else, except installing su for terminal purposes... and then, i tried to replicate troubles, which i did easily...
at first, i thought it was heat... not the case, then i remarked that it kept crashing randomly on 3g network connections, since i never have issues watching youtube on my wifi at home, but when im in the bus going to work, it crashed on youtube... so i tried other network datacomm on the 3g, and i can easily make it crash. i can never make it crash on the wifi tho...
so i started adb shell, did su, then logcat command, which gives me output in realtime of whats happening...
this output shows when i started youtube... the video started to play in portrait, so i swithc my creen landscape to get it full screen and BAM! crash, here is the output

now i did executed a adb bugreport, i can see the following, if i search for ARM9
Code:
