I do not know if I just missed some announcement but the MySpace App that used to be available from Windows Marketplace Mobile is no longer available. I noticed for a while prior it would just not let me connect via the app. Any one have any information as to what happened? Just curious. While I am not a big fan of Myspace I do find it useful on occasion.
last time, about a month ago, I wanna log in to myspace, using the app. It can't get connection.
Shape's IM+ supports MySpace and FaceBook.
Still no MySpace App support
Is anyone aware if MySpace and Microsoft had a fallout. The MySpace app is no longer on the Windows Marketplace and the couple cabs found floating around are not letting me connect. I don't feel comfortable flashing the phone with a new ROM so that is not an option I am considering. I found the app more convenient than using the web browser. Thanks.

I found a free chat program that uses the internet not sms. Uses AIM, MSN, Yahoo, and a few others. I have not heard about it before on here so I figured I would toss out the link.

I've tried it out and it seems the kicker on this one is the integration with pictures and voice. It lets you voice record or snap a pic and then it uploads to their webservers and links your IM buddy. Makes for an interesting app between friends considering you can do PTT style communication with pictures, apparently. I still have it installed, but I think I might dump it off my phone as it's a little too cumbersome to use for it to be worthwhile.

i talked to customer service with att and on the tilt instant messaging counts as internet usage since it connects to media net. if there is an instant messaging program that only uses sms then i would love to know about it. been looking for one for awhile now.
Heya,
I just recently got the Fuze and also a first time user of the wimo OS and I just found out that I get charged for the IMs that i send through the default IM softwares. Is there any decent or good IM software out there for wimo? I have the unlimited data plan so I'd like to make the best of it. Thank you very much.
There's a plethora of programs for this purpose. Try looking for Sling, Octro Talk, Fring, IM+, etc. My personal program is BeeJive/JiveTalk.
Have a look here and here
does beejive and IM+ required to be paid for?
and among the freewares, which would you recommend the most?
I tried installing Beejive but for every message that comes in/or I send i receive a text message saying WVCI 1.1 aim. Any way to get rid of this?
For ICQ especially is the best solution software named Pigeon. For Push-to-talk conversation via internet use Palringo.
I ended up using EQO.. the only problem i have with it is the fact that i cant read what i typed down until i send it.. it seems to be a bug of some sort.

So far every aim client i've tried is doing the same thing. The one that comes with the fuze was great until i found out it uses SMS.
yeah. i found that out after wasting 10 or so txt msgs....
EQO is a pretty nice freeware IM and it seems like the landscape mode issue is present in all other IM software.. maybe it's a HTC thing.
might it have anything to do with the resolution of the phone? maybe the programs aren't optimzed for this res?
Slick messenger is free...... He supports ICQ, MSN, GTalk, Yahoo, AIM and Jabber.
I do love Palringo. It is very fast and can do everything you need!
Palringo
I have to agree with the previous poster. http://palringo.com - easily the best option out there. Tight integration, multiple accounts active on multiple services, includes AIM, ICQ, MSN, Yahoo, and Jabber/GTalk.
Only weird thing is that you have to create an account on their website first. But then if you ever move phones / reinstall, your profile includes all your accounts already. And you can send picture messages inline directly.
Personally I like IM+ the best, It has support for aim, msn, yahoo, googletalk, icq, and jabber. You do have to pay for it however.
edit, but now that ive seen palringo in the posts above i think my first impression is wow that looks a lot nicer than im+.
another vote for plaringo. i use it very often with the voice chat, picture now location (gps/cell tower trianglutaion) works on my desktop and ppc
One big minus for Palringo...it drains the battery very quickly. Instead that,it is perfect solution for voice messaging also via slow GPRS! and it's multiplatform(I use it with Hurricane and previously with Himalaya).
I don't think Palringo is all that big of a battery hog. I used to keep it on for hours at a time and never had any issues on my Kaiser. This was generally quick bursts of a dozen messages a couple times an hour.
But yes, my preferred IM client on Windows Mobile so far. Have not tried any of the for-pay ones. Yeah you do have to create an account, but it's because they want you to use their messaging service which seems like it would be very useful if you know anyone else with the program. It's multiplatform, and has media sharing and push-to-talk which I hear works decently well.
Palringo is my vote. I BOUGHT IM+ about 2 days b4 someone showed me Palringo. I was sad.
Only drawbacks for me is I use AOL IM alot. It doesn't keep my AOL directories. It just throws everything into "online" or "offline".
No vibration feature or light. I think IM+ had those.
I LOVE voice IMing. As long as you AIM someone with the sound on, they get a tag saying I sent a voice message. When they click on it, it plays back what I said. Very handy while driving.
Allows two different AIMs to be signed in. I like that. Sometimes I need work aim and home aim on.
Now I kinda use AOLIM client for Windows Mobile. Works fine. And has my directories.
+1 for Palringo
I've tried every PPC IM program out there and Palringo is the one I settled on. I'm very happy with it and it's free. They also continue to improve it and add features (though I'm very happy with it now).

Oh. I dloaded IM+ since I havn't used it in about a year. They IMPROVED it. Now has a history, remembers my aol groups. Only thing still missing is vibration and teh ability to show AIM personal messages.
Hi,
So far I couldn't find any yahoo or msn messenger for android. Is there any?
Which IM for yahoo, msn do you use ?
Is there any IM for android which connects directly to the yahoo/msn server (unlike meboo, ebuddy)?
Is there any messenger which supports multi gmail accounts?
Thanks in advance.
Hi there
Try Truphone or Fring
ebuddy works great
Hi Msn is working flawlessly for me, although i am unsure if it supports yahoo messenger.
There is also an app called NimBuzz which supports windows live, yahoo, AIM, Skype, Facebook, Gtalk, My space, ICQ.. and soo much more...
Check it out.. i use it mostly for Skype Calls but everything else seems to work amazing when i first set it up.
There are also several apps that work without extra Server.
I'm using ICQ and MSN. I can't say anything about yahoo...
By far the best App I have tested was IM+. Too sad it costs way too much...
The built-in t-mobile app also connects directly. I used it for several days. works fine (ICQ is the same protocol as AIM)
but now I'm on Meebo. I like to have the same History on Phone and PC.
the "IM" app that comes on CM roms (i believe its the T-Mobile one) is a great app that works great, only downside is on Rogers network you cannot connect as it will try and verify by sim. You will need to be on wifi to use "IM" but i still love this app
i also use Nimbuzz but have had some issues as of late with it dropping (could be the phone too )
hi yahoo
there is a hi yahoo app. works well for me, but right now i go back & forth between meebo & ebuddy.
I just dun like the way all these messenger design. These company can make better layout, fonts and feature for Iphone and why not Android? Just disappointed.
IM+ (the conversation layout very very bad. Words too small can't change font and stupid color)
Palringo (All the buddy(contact) squeeze into one. Very difficult to locate friend)
Meebo ( I hate to login meebo inorder to use MSN/Yahoo, buddy layout very bad)
MSN Droid (Not bad so far. Only support MSN and no yahoo.)
ebuddy ( Another one need ebuddy account. conversation fonts too small)
Android IM ( So far so good but will disconnect if phone go to sleep. Maybe its design to work with SMS)
You guys forgot BuddyMob
Plus: You can choose your own Messenger Picture, MultiLogin (connect from your homecomputer AND your Android Phone the same time) is supported, swipe function is included
Minus: No Ring for MSN, no Send Files, no smileys
Used it for months, now i'm looking for something new
eBuddy works for me... careful with gtalk though - it sets your status to an ad.
On the MyTouch 3G there is an almost sort of half-decent app which includes MSN, Yahoo and I think it is AIM. At least you get to see your buddies online and it is over the data network, but as mentioned already you have to be on wi-fi to sign in unless you are on T-Mobile's data network as the phone uses only T-Mo's SIM info (and wifi) to let you sign in. The question is, is there a way to tweak the app so that you can use any carrier and still sign in from the data on your SIM, and how can this be done? I am nearly sure it can be. Can anyone help?
I've been using meebo without any problems.
anyone knows which IM app can do group chats? like in a conversation with more than 2 person? I know ebuddy can't do that... it's really frustrating!
I've found that when using ANY im program it's hard NOT to get dc'd. I have settled on using msn live which is free from the marketplace.it still dc's every now and then but at least now I can have a direct shortcut to msn on my desktop instead of just a general IM shortcut. hope this helps.
I found a Windows Live app (plainly called MESSENGER) on Android Market. It is quite good indeed! I installed it on my Hero and MyTouch 3G After a few days it would not function on the Hero - only force close whenever I launched the app. I uninstalled it from the Hero thereafter. Still works on my MyTouch 3G though. I cannot find it on Android Market anymore - not sure why not.
I use QQ!!!!!!Hoho!!
msn has an official app called MSN Droid, its pretty sick
and they were saying something about a yahoo one coming out soon
try nimbuzz

Hi,
Wondering for those who use Opera Mini were you able to log in and sync to your bookmarks (and use other settings)? After accepting terms I can't find a way to login.
Also, anyone have any success in using Twitter client? Have been able to login but app seems to crash periodically. Better suggestion? Like Twitter for push notifications.
Thanks,
Mike
mjoshea,
I have the same problem with twitter, after a few seconds running it crashed and went back to desktop. Tweetdeck is my twitter app of choice. I've even told one of the root devs about it, and he though it was weird.
I've never synced bookmarks with opera, so I can't help with that.
I honestly made the best decision ever of removing the Facebook app from my phone, with it installed, my phone would drain 20% of battery overnight even with greenify. With it removed, I lost only 5% battery, couldn't be happier.
However, with that said, I use the alternative client Swipe, I really like it for normal browsing, but not the Messenger feature. I still have the FB Messenger app due to its calling, emoji, sticker, etc features, but man is it a resource hog. According to the wake lock detector, it woke my device 58 times.
Do any of you know of any other client alternative to the current messenger app with a better theme than the one in Swipe with the same features as current FB Messenger app. Not too fond of Swipe's messenger as it just loads the mobile site version, its features are limited.
If not, do any of you know how to restrict the app properly to not wake my device so often? Greenify seems to have no effect
Trillian will work with your facebook account. Last time I used it, which was about a year ago, the interface wasn't the best to look at but got the job done. It handles other messaging protocols such as Skype, but doesn't work with Whatsapp (naturally).
I was gonna suggest a all in one like trillian and someone on these boards made a facebook messenger and twitter all in one app tho i forget the name. I never go on facebook but I leave it installed but it never takes like any battery, tho I turned off all notifications and turned off chat in the main app and turned off auto load video etc. No issues tho but not many options for third party messenger apps but search forums for the all in one i mentioned.
Possibly IM+? I used this way back in the day with earlier versions of Android, might do the trick! https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.shapeservices.impluslite
If I remember correctly you can also use Disa with the facebook plugin. that way you have SMS and facebook in the same app
Folio?
