...is mostly stock except includes everything you need for wireless tethering to work, and maybe the occasional battery life tweak which doesn't sacrifice a ton of functionality. Any ideas which would be ideal for that?
bueller? bueller?
WiFi teether only requires root to work, nothing else needs to be added to a rom. Find SpintUpdate2.zip and then download WiFi tether from code.google.com you can google search for "Android WiFi Tether" and its the first result. I use v1.6.
I am not sure if SprintUpdate2.zip has SuperUser Whitelist, but if you don't see it in the list of apps, just download it from the market.
Also make sure USB Bebuggin is turned on and that Install Apps from Unknown Sources is on.

wifi tether also needs a netfilter enabled kernel though. As far as I can tell the damageless leaked rom doesn't have that.

This application requires a "rooted"-device and a custom-kernel which supports netfilter (iptables)!

Which version are you using? Most of us have the best luck with 1.6.

Oh really? Well thank you for pointing that out to me, if anybody can get this app to work on any firmware please let me know
As far as my understanding goes, there is no netfilter support in the haykuro builds of android. aNetshare and Wifi Tether require this in order to function correctly.

Just because no one is using it currently doesn't mean YOU can't use it.
More interesting information
More interesting information. All you have to do by the way is compile into the kernel and use it as an external module (lower memory consumption by not using statically linked modules you may not need). Also, another reason we shouldn't be downloading images from untrusted locations without checksums, way too easy to make a root kit.

You have never compiled a kernel, right?
There are some kernel-options which can't be compiled as module and netfilter-support is one of them.

Yes...its strange. I have tried both v1.6 and v1.7, but it won't let me install it! The install screen opens up, but I physically cannot select the install button...only the cancel button. Weird. Ant ideas? Has someone successfully installed this, if so which link on the thread did you use.

Does that rom have a daemon controller built in? Without a daemon to control, you cannot change the daemon settings (obviously )
So, assuming you don't have a daemon, you need to install one. There is a link to a guide in my signature, but that uses a different controlling app, daemon controller. The newest version of the app is linked in my thread.

cheers for the info and seriously fast reply. i've startedd looking at the guide from your banner.
another quick question, in the previous versions of ICE DS all this stuff seemed to be built in. is it different for this version or is this a slightly uncommon case for those using this version of ICE DS?

If you have posted the apk of a paid app then that is warez which is NOT allowed on xda forums. You are ripping off the work of developers if you just post sh*t without permission.
The freeware, open source and free, solution is "Android Reverse Tethering 2.30".
That program has a client (apk on phone) and server (program for windows) which allows you to surf the web while connected to ur PC.
EDIT: Works for OFFICIAL LG GB and Froyo but not Zeus (i have tried!!!!!)
@FunkyGanja
Official GB has USB tethering option? I don't rembember. If yes than it would be nice to have it in Zeus...
You can also find it in cm7. Go to settings--> wifi --> hotspot. There is a setting to do it. I think it should also be there in zeus rom...

USB tethering is totally dependant on the ROM and LG doesn't natively support it in any of their OB roms. It is one of the things (like HDMI output) that LG hasn't built into our phones.
HTC natively supports USB tethering in SOME of their phones but other than that I'm not sure anybody else does.
Btw, nooby we are talking about USB reverse tethering where you access the Internet via the USB cable through ur pc.
Wifi tethering is what ur talking about where u use ur phone to supply Internet via Wifi.

Hi, just I tried to help him what I can help, nothing but other thing..
As u said I went on to link and it is only for rooted users only, (also there is option for non-rooted phones), but it is waste of time 3 hours for me..not worked..
If u know the procedure to work for non-rooted phones, send the link and help..
Saying words is easy than working..
I've tried the "The freeware, open source and free, solution is "Android Reverse Tethering 2.30".". It didn't work.

It didn't work for me when I was using zeus but it worked on the stock ROM. The developer says that the compatibility of the app is dependant on the kernel of the ROM. Since heuxxx has tweaked the ROM so well, I'm sure that something has been lost in the process. It worked for me on stock ROM and CM7 based Mokee OS.

Yeah I didn't realise that CM7 natively supported usb tethering until I tried out boypes CM7 the other day. My apologies.
But mind you, I did say that it was totally dependant on the ROM.
On another note, why don't you just buy a wifi router and use that to access the Internet? There few limitations with USB tethering which wifi doesn't have. Plus they are dirt cheap atm. I just got mine for $50

Alright thanks
Wi-fi tethering works on all the custom ROMs like CM and Resurrection Remix. Built in, you just need to turn it on.
There is now a major gap in the app market for a free tethering app
I used to use barnacle. It was great. But since the release of Lollipop on the latest phones (from 2014 onwards) barnacle and apps like it that used ad hoc beacons that were compatible with Android 4.2.2 and earlier versions are no longer compatible with the latest Android versions. Its a shame. I too am constantly on the lookout hoping for one that comes up.
