Mini to micro usb - HD2 Accessories

Hi, I know this is an old discussion, but I haven't found the answer I'm looking for.
I need a good mini-micro usb connector to use in my car. I have an inverter and HTC mini usb charger concealed in my dashboard from when I had my previous HTC devices, and just need to be able to connect it to my HD2.
I have one already, but if there isn't any pressure pulling the cable towards the rear of the device, it stops charging.
Has anyone found an adaptor that will work without this issue?
Thanks.
Steve.

does this help? Bought this on ebay UK a few days ago. Item no is 230429980562

Does it stop charging if you apply any forward pressure to the plug?
The ones I have at the moment are HORRIBLE!

lighter adapter -- will the Motorola work?

I was looking at cla's for my tilt and was wondering if the connector on the Moto (I think it was the razor) will work with our phones.
Thanks,
Bobby
Will work, but only half the rated amp of Kaiser OEM charger. Also, I believe, it has fewer pins in USB connection.
Good for emergency use, but threads here and other forums indicate that you are better off with a dedicated Kaiser charger.
Car lighter adapter
I have the usb cable and home adapter, but since I spend a lot of time in the car I was looking for a unit for it. I do not have a need for a cradle (at least at this time) so I was just checking on the adapter.
In a car, the amperage is based upon the devices draw and protected by the size of fuse in the adapter, so that part should not be a problem. The connector is where my real concern comes in. They are both mini usb and fit the phone, but I do not know if the pins are the same or the wiring on the pins.
I did a search in the forum and no results came back. Can you link to a discussion on it or point me to a thread that this has been discussed?
Thanks,
Bobby
Actually, I believe there's a DC-DC voltage conversion going on can change the amperage available to the mini-usb connector. Make sure your adapter can deliver 1amp.
I've got one and it works fine. It might take a bit longer than one with a higher amperage, but what's the big rush?

micro usb. is it standard?

was gonna buy this pack of ten for my phone. is micro usb standard enough that these cables will work?

It's a standard, but not sure what those cables are exactly. I would check out monoprice.com - I just ordered a variety of micro usb cables (1.5 ft, 6ft, 10ft) and USB car adapter and wall adapter (two each) for around $20 before shipping. I will be covered in both cars, at work, and at home now for charging.
ill check it out thanks
Micro USB was a standard agreed upon at a Conference in Europe over a year ago. Looks like phone manufacturers are settling in on that now.
Just get a 5v 1amp micro usb charger and you should be good to go
cool yea I got chargers for the gf's mini usb phone so I just needed micro cables
Update: the cheap USB wall chargers I got from monoprice do not seem to work well with this phone. when I use them, the screen is unresponsive which is a bit scary. The car USB chargers I got worked fine, and the cables I got from Monoprice.com (as always) were excellent.
The screen being unresponsive is a grounding issue that's been arising with the Incredible. Refer to this thread for more information:

You should be able to work around the issue most of the time by touching the phone on any side thus creating ground for the phone. Hope this helps!

I was holding the phone in my hand when this happened. It does seem related, but the screen would not respond at all when using the monoprice wall charger. I couldn't even unlock it no matter how I touched the phone, fingers all around it and in my palm, etc. There's something up with those chargers and the voltage they pump out.

HTC HD2 Wireless (Induction) Charging Available! What You Need To Know

Okay, like a lot of people I have been watching the induction chargers with a keen eye, waiting for a reputable company to deliver a worthwhile solution.
Then I saw that the Duracell MyGrid was on sale on Amazon(.co.uk) for £19.99, with connectors costing £15.99. Brilliant! Right?
There is not a HTC Leo specific connector, but you can purchase a Micro-USB connector which will allow you to charge your HD2 via the MyGrid powermat. At this point, I was reaching for my wallet!
Before purchasing, however, I chose to see if anyone had reviewed the product. Im thankful I did...
It turns out the connector you attach to your device is permanently attached (glued I expect). This means that if you need to replace your phone, you need to buy a new connector. It also means your phone probably won't fit into car handsfree kits anymore.
Now for the killer. It is possible to disconnect the connector from the Micro-USB port, but this is by no means easy and leaves the connector pins vulnerable. This means your Micro-USB port is always in use. Want to plug your phone in on a train? Use a car kit? Use a conventional charger? SYNC/UPDATE FIRMWARE by plugging into a PC? Tough poopie!
In summary: Does an induction charger for the HTC HD2 exist? Yes. But iff you want to do anything with your phoen other than charge it, don't buy one.

So, you would say this charger makes no sense? Sorry, but there's no induction charging which works like a WiFi and you can move where you want while charging.

[Q] Car Chargers

Has anyone found a good car charger that they know works with the Focus? My dad's super-paranoid about my phone, and wants me to have a car charger. The problem, as many of you probably know, is that the Focus seems finnicky about what chargers it gets along with. Does anyone have one that they've tried that works?
I went with the Belkin Micro USB car adapter, works great, especially if you need to charge other USB devices.
This is the charger I used. It's made by Motorola but it works great with the Focus. Plus the LED light is a transparent window which looks awesome. It doesn't quite look like the photo. It's also discounted. I'll probably be ordering a couple more to keep in my other car.

IGO
I use the IGO car charger with the tip for my Samsung Focus. I also have the tip for my wifes Samsung Sync A707. I also had the tip for my FUZE when I was using that. It was nice, we could travel and just bring the additional tip and charge either phone. Works on my Focus very well.
I bought my Focus from Costco and they gave me a free no-name chinese car charger with the phone. I used it only once so far and my phone did not explode or anything, but I don't know if it was actually charging or not. The battery icon had the 'plug' graphic on it, but how can I tell if it was working properly?
I ended up getting a cheap charger off from eBay, it's kind of like the motorola listed that has the USB port. It also came with the USB cable and another house plug-in with the USB port. I travel a lot for the military so I like to have a spare cable and house charger.
i've used a Griffin which has a USB plugin...from my blackberry phone, HTC Tilt2 (winmo 6.5), HTC Aria (android), and will use it on my Focus. but with the battery, i haven't had a need for it yet lol. off the home charger with a full charge at 6:30am...drove to atlanta (well covered 3G area) to Athens (so so 3G) and all the back home down back roads through no name towns (spotty coverage). it's now 5:30 and i'm still showing half a battery gauge. that's with a few calls, plenty of texting, and a lot of web browsing.
damn i love this phone
I use one I got from Costco with my Backflip last year. I figured all micro USB would be fine.
Got a couple Rocketfish ones from Best Buy - work great
IMO, the Belkin is nice because it is low-profile. a very clean looking charging setup. Also can use whatever microusb I have handy rather than some dedicated cable.

Get the OEM charger here. I have had no issue with the MicroUSB connector, unlike my last car charger that just died. Can't beat the price either.
I bought three of these chargers...
I got three of these chargers off amazon. They are oem, but are official motorola and look really nice. They have a translucent window with the M on them that lights up when they are plugged in. They are a steal at less than five dollars. Go here-->http://www.amazon.com/Motorola-Vehicle-Adapter-micro-USB-Charger/dp/B000S5Q9CA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1304549428&sr=8-1-spell.
That's what I got too, just through Amazon for prime 2 day.

Where to buy this OTG adapter for SNote2 N7105?

Hello Members
Where can I buy this adapter (photo attached) other than ebay, in the UK.
Will it work correctly with my Note 2, as I'm going to use it to run an external USB DAC convertor, and need the extra USB power plug to power the phone and the DAC.
Failing that can, I get one made? Or make it myself from best quality audio grade USB cable and connectors?
If it's possible to make it, is there a specific wiring diagram for this OTG adapter + USB power plug that works for current Samsung smartphones?
Any help, or links to traders, and directions would be great.

Thanks for the links, but it's a OTG adapter with an extra USB male plug just for supplying 5 v power, reading a lot about making something up, but in short these modded adapter cables don't work with any certainty (something about not finding the nominal resistor value across pin (ID) 4 & (Ground) 5, which means either the phone goes to charge mode, but doesn't see the USB item that's been connected, or the reverse).
I thought the new Samsung Note 2 Smartdock might work, but it's been found to not see USB audio DAC's when there plugged in, unless someone knows different but I'm guessing the dock already takes the audio signal from the phones USB and feeds it to a 3.5 mm headphone socket in the unit.

Ebay have tons of them....
http://www.ebay.com.sg/itm/Micro-US...Accessories&hash=item20cdc2cc21#ht_3873wt_906
Thanks knight900, but I wanted to buy the item from anywhere other than ebay, the reason, well in the past whenever I made a purchase from this type of location/trader there was always fraud instigated on my PayPal account.
I might still consider buying from Ebay if other forum members have purchased the same item from a particular Ebay seller with no issues.
