Ok so, my old HD crashed, completely unrecoverable. I now have a new laptop with W7HP. I set up the SDK folder and when I try to do ADB commands it fails. I get - ADB is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.
Can anyone help me?

R u in the sdk tools folder or have u set it up to run adb from any folder. If not that could be a reason why. Also make sure u install the Java jdk and jde files too.

In order for adb to work I believe u need to install the Java development kit and Java runtime environment. U can find them both at either the Java webisite (Google search for Java JdK) or in my thread everything android in the dev forum. Which is a package of all the tools u need to mess with ur phone. Either way I believe that the Java stuff needs to be put on first
You need to have the tool folder in the path setting on your computer and the android sdk installed.
Or actually be in the tool folder directly.
That should be all that's needed.

Found the Java stuff. do I extract it INTO the android tools folder or just right to the c Drive?
Just install java on your pc & make sure your path is set for the sdk & see where that puts you.
Sent from my phone.
had the same exact issue. all it did to fix it was:
re-unpack the sdk to the C:\ drive
install the HTC sync from the root thread you posted
REBOOT COMPUTER
plus in phone let it do its thing with drivers and such
and BOOM working.

Ok so all who have WP7 on their HD2's and having PC with Windows XP have this problem : "wtf man, how do i deploy/install .xap's on my HD2 ?"
Well i have the answer, we all have met the problem with the SDK Developer Tools installation (it was shtting about "ya need vista or 7 bla bla bla")
So after a really hard search (spended 1 minute) i found the answer !
I found this at http://www.redfrogfish.com/483/how-to-install-windows-phone-7-developer-tools-on-windows-xp/
All credits go to that guy!!!!
Ok, so if ur afraid to go to that site i will now copypaste the tut
Download the Windows Phone Developer Tools RTW from Microsoft Download Center
Extract the downloaded package by running vm_web.exe /x
Go to the folder of the extracted package & open the file baseline.dat in any text editor
Look for the ‘gencomp7788’ section and change this two entries from 1 to 0:
InstallOnLHS=0
InstallOnWinXP=0
Save the file baseline.dat
Run setup.exe /web
i extracted the .exe with WinRaR and then opened the baseline.dat with Notepad
Finally, made a shortcut to "setup" file and the "Prpoerties" on shortcut and in the end u add that " /web" thing. Run the shortcut and it should all work and dl the stuff.
Again, i won't visit this post so it's better to find a solution by urself
coul some body explain better this please?
I had problems installing SDK and running Tom XAP installer until now. Basically, I had the WPSDK installed, .NET 4.0, Tom Xap Installer and it worked just fine on my XP Pro.

Hi,
i was about to learn Android dev, after installing android studio and run it, i get this error message
Gradle sync failed: org.gradle.tooling.BuildActionExecuter.withCancellationToken(Lorg/gradle/tooling/CancellationTokenLorg/gradle/tooling/BuildActionExecuter;
Consult IDE log for more details (Help | Show Log)
what must i do to fix this?
i've just update Android Studio from 1.5 to 2.0 with patched update, not full upadate and i moved my sdk file folder to another drive, couse my drive with default folder of sdk file folder almost full, and i've just configure it in my android studio
Please help me..
Solved
Sorry guys, this is my bad, this error because the sdk instalation didn't instaled completely, so i re-instal android studio and change default sdk folder to another drive with larger space, and now all the trouble is gone
It can eat space, especially on an SSD. Don't forget to check the \users\...\.AndroidStudio* folders, I've had old versions of Studio leaving 500MB-1GB there
i am not able to install android studio. there is showing sdk is missing or out dated ,root directory is not found
please help me
