No, it's cool man. I actually didn't write out instructions to making a nandroid backup because I forgot lol I guess I take knowing how to for granted, and you can't when you are writing a guide! I'll add it asap!

My buttons have stopped working very well, and my hero won't vibrate anymore. I'm rooted but don't want to take my rooted phone to Sprint to get it looked at. So if I go back to stock, will I be able to root again? I've seen some people say yes and some say no. Many thanks in advance.

YES
There's guides on how to root the latest RUU and the latest OTA update in the Development section.

You can always re-root
Okay, I'm confused. Are you saying that I'll lose root forever, or that I'll be able to root the newer ruu if I go back to stock?

Just to be sure you are clear on what will happen. When you go back to stock by running the RUU, you will lose your root. However, you can just re-root after taking it to Sprint.

I do not want to return to 1.2.6, too much trouble
Step 1: Get unlazied.
Step 2: Try again.

This is not a development question, can we please move this to Q&A or General?
Also, in case it wasn't already clear:
YOU CAN NOT UPDATE 1.52 TO 1.57. PERIOD.
Someone might at some point pull out the parts of the update and roll it into something you can flash over anything, but I highly doubt it as it's a pain in the ass and doesn't offer much benefit. Just backup your system with TiBu and flash back to 1.2.6, follow the proper procedure, and restore your backup (NOT system apps though). Not really all that hard.
how can i root it i have tried all the root 1 click old and new.. 1 click version 1.0 1 click version 2.0 and petes root but no luck will not root.. am i stuck to they find a way around?
Should have read about forever root before you installed. Reading helps.

There are only about 50000 threads discussing this. Maybe a quick search before making a new thread? Just a thought.

NOOB HERE
Sorry just got my bionic yesterday running 893 got motofail one click to root, but how do i get the forever root? all the links for dhacker are dead, is there another one or how do i go about it? I have searched for hours and every one i can find points me to the same link and its not working.
Don't worry about ForeverRoot. It's based off an older exploit. Motofail will keep you rooted all the way up to at least 5.9.905.

I have and I don't see anything about return to stock. I see an unroot option, or the firmwares. Is that it?

First page of the development section, about 15 threads down (stock rooted Gingerbread):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1348637
Flash that, then unroot. Or you can use LGPNST to flash the V7 Gingerbread .tot file. Either way will get you back to stock Gingerbread.
I just used this method and didn't have any issues at all getting back to stock, and I was then able to install the ZV8 update as well.
This may be a dumb question, but if I use the one click root/unroot to unroot my phone for this update, do I need to worry about clearing the caches and removing the rom and theme first or can I just run the unroot.bat file and be good to go?
Anyone have an answer please?

You first need to flash the stock rom, then you can click unroot.
You don't have to clear your cache and previous data but it's recommended.

Maybe a stupid question, but if I am running Gingervolt 1.3, can I just flash this directly over it? Don't really mind if I lose root.

POINTLESS
So, Do I understand correctly? That thread is now titled "pointless" and after reading the posts there it would seem that there is now a root for zv8, is that correct? If I am correct can you please direct me to how and where to get it? I would really appreciate it, thank you very much in advance.
