Anyone ever used their products before? I haven't, but right now they are the only ones that are making a skin for the slide. I ordered one, guess we'll see.
Check it out: http://www.skinomi.com/mytouch-3g-slide-skin-protector.html
Please let me know. Ill likely wait for zagg unless these seem better.

Mine should be here any day now. I'll take some pics and maybe do a half ass review or something. I'm not going to promise some badass review but i'll do what I can
Has anyone received their skin? It's been over two weeks since I ordered mine and I haven't heard anything. I'm guessing that they were preselling them. I'm on my way to email customer service after this to see.

Same here. I called customer service and they told me that due to the enormous demand for the skins from the start they ran out and did not have enough. This was last friday I called. They told me that within 48 hrs mine would be shipped. It's the end of tuesday and no package. I'm calling them again tomorrow after work to see what's going on. I'll post more then.
In the meantime, phantomskinz has one for mt3gs now! Might be getting myself a refund and a phantom skinz. It's nice on my n1.
I emailed them this morning and got this reply:
"Somehow your item may have been lost during mailstream but thankfully has
been recovered. It is now currently on its way to you and you should receive
it either tomorrow or early Friday morning."
I was doubtful, but the delivery confirmation number they included seems to indicate it will be delivered tomorrow. Yay!
Got mine today will take pics tomorrow
Received mine yesterday. Tonight I face the semi-daunting task of applying it. I've never used anything like this before, hope it goes well!

So how did it go? Any tips on getting it installed smoothly?
I put it off until this morning. It went okay. Like I said, I've never used anything other than a static screen before. I got the full body Skinomi.
The screen looks great and I'm really not worried about that. The rest of it... eh. The back doesn't seem to fit right at all. I can't get the corners to stay down or even shape to the cover properly. The small strips along the top and bottom don't see properly shaped either.
I'll probably tear off the top and bottom strips, maybe the sides too. I'm going to work on the back a little bit and maybe even try to re-apply tomorrow.
Edit: Revisiting after an hour or so, I was able to fit the back quite a bit better. I think it might turn out okay. There's a little bit where the skin is hanging over the edge, so I might still re-apply, but we'll see.
i ordered a skin from them, and haven't heard anything from them. I've been trying to call, but no one answers and i can't leave a message because their voicemail is full. not sure if i should wait or take the issue up with my credit card company seeing as i emailed them a few days ago and have been trying to call for 3 days now.
I received mine after about a month. I also called a few times and they did answer. I went to install it and the only parts i can get to stick are the front pieces. Also the small front pieces are not cut well. I had to choose between letting part of the skin hanging off the edge or partially covering the genius button and home buttons. This skin and company is crap. DO NOT BUY!
Now i do have plenty experience installing phantom skinz, best skins ever, and a few others all with similar applications. Some are harder than others, but none are as ****ty as skinomi. Imma call them "****onmi" instead.
I have also been trying to call them for a week with no answer or means to leave a message. I call about 6 times per day.
My advice.. take it up with ur cc company and buy a phantom skinz. They are out for mts now. Best skin you can get, period. Also they send you 2 of them in case you mess up and have excellent customer service.
If anyone gets ahold of these assholes or finds a different phone number besides what is posted on their site, please update here. Thanx and good luck
Well i called my bank about them and they have a merchant number listed. Here is the number: 562-299-3784.
I called that and couldn't understand the guy at all, but after i got off the phone with that number, i was called by a 1-800 number from a guy from skinomi who said he'd have a CS rep contact me by the end of the day and if they don't they'd ship my purchase out.
This call was right after i disputed the purchase. I really just want a refund right now.
I ordered mine through Amazon and USPS tracking shows that it should arrive today, just over a week after I placed the order...
This is just a day after the original estimated date.
Sent from my T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide using XDA App
yeah, i ordered a skin for my HD2 through amazon and everything went fine. This time though, i ordered through their website.
update on what they said though, i just got a call from the same guy and number, but no call from the CS rep. He said i'd have a call from CS within 5 mins, but we'll see how that goes.
Shouldn't the mods move this to http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=662
i got a call from someone at the posted number on skinomi's website. apparently, my order should have already been shipped out. I don't believe this because i would have gotten an update about it.
They said if i didn't get a confirmation/tracking number by a day soon to come (i couldn't tell 1/2 of what he was saying because his voice kept cutting out) that they'd ship me a new one next week free of charge next week if i emailed or called customer service.
I just sent another email asking if i could cancel my order before it's shipped because i'm done dealing with it and i just ordered one of the $2 screen protectors posted in another section.
EDIT: i got an email from the phone convo, i now have a tracking number and now have to contact my bank to cancel the dispute (as they have shipped me the item i ordered).
Well, my skin arrived (a day after their original estimate, but still only 9 days after ordering) and I installed the screen-only protector on my wife's Slide and the full-body protector on mine. Installation wasn't too hard, but it took time to get it right. I'll wait a few days to pass judgment on the appearance since fog of micro-bubbles should disappear in a few days and that's to be expected. Otherwise I must admit I'm slightly disappointed in the fit. The screen piece for example is about 1/16 of an inch too short and too narrow. Not enough to be a big deal, but it's noticeable. This was on both phones/protectors so it's not like one was miscut. The pieces to protect the top and sides of the front part of the phone don't even meet or completely fill the pieces they attach to. Irrelevant from a pure protection point of view, but the edges of the film now give the phone a "sharp-edges" feel where it used to be smooth plastic curves. I was also a little disappointed that the kit did not include a piece to cover the camera lens. If there's one part of the phone that must remain stratch-free to be able to function at it's best, that would be it.
The feel of the skin itself is pretty good. The back piece I suppose is slightly more tacky/softer feeling than bare plastic. The same goes for the screen vs the protector the phone shipped with. The difference is little enough that even now it doesn't bother me, and I imagine that in a matter of days it will smooth out and/or I'll be used to it and not even notice it anymore. It certainly isn't nearly a big enough difference to make me want to take it off.
I'll post again in a few days or a week and let you know how well the skin cleared up and how much I like it after some use.
I'll admit, the fit of the front pieces isn't perfect and the edge pieces are weird enough that I still think about peeling them off every day.
Overall, I'm pretty happy with it though. The screen and back pieces fit nicely (though not perfectly) and everything went on pretty well. For the edges and the corners of the back piece, you definitely need to keep going back to it every 15 minutes or so until they'll stick well.
I do have one corner of the back piece peeling up a little, so I might re-do that this week.
Oh, also regarding their CS: I got a timely response when I sent them an email and received my skin two days later. So email might be a better way to go.
Well, I've lived with it for a little over a week now...
The good:
The feel of the skin is pretty nice on its surface. It softens the feel where it covers the plastic and gives it a slightly grippier feel. On the screen the effect is minimal with the light touches required for normal use. If you tend to have a heavy finger on the touchscreen you might not be as happy with the feel. It seems to do a good job at resisting scratches, but I'm not rough on phones so it might not be showing any anyway.
The bad:
Even though the display looks nice and clear from most angles, at some I can still see a haze of microbubbles under it. The piece below the physical buttons on the front also has some bubbles under it that haven't gone away. Since I bought this so I could just carry it bare in my pocket, I really wish it didn't collect lint so easily under the edges of every piece. Those same edges also still have a kind of sharp feel which makes the phone feel like it has slightly poorly molded plastic in some places. Also, I'm still slightly annoyed by the screen protector piece being about 1/16" too small and leaving a tiny unprotected border.
Overall, I think I'll live with it for another few weeks and then I might give the Zagg Invisible Shield a try...

Hey thanks! I just ordered the full body kit, came out to 9 bucks after shipping
are they any good?
i dint work on the custom invisible shields covers and other stuff i wanted to try ..neither the battery thing ...
So many people say its a PAIN IN THE ASS to get them on.
Well I will take mine to the mall where they have a kiosk for invisible shields they will put em on for ya for free and if they f up or you don't like the way they do it, they'll give. You a new one for free
I have always used bodyguardz.com. They cover the entire phone, and easy to put on. 2 full body sets 24 bones. Custom cut for each phone, and work great.
Heh, I've had a zagg full body for my Hero for probably about like 2 weeks probably longer. Its still sitting on my kitchen counter...
@jvz -
Sure, it's a PITA to get them on, but the alternatives aren't exactly much easier. Each brand is slightly different, but overall results are comperable.
ZAGG -- Most recent purchase (month ago) included a 'sponge' as a fluid applicator, plenty of fluid in the 'cup' that held it, and was a nearly perfect fit for the screen area on my Sprint Hero. Yes, the InvisibleShield feels a bit 'tacky' after first application, moreso than Bodyguardz, but most of the excess friction (and any remaining cloudiness under the cover -- minimal) seems to go away after a few days. Overall, ZAGG does exactly what it claims. Caveat: if you get particles between the screen and the cover during application, either live with them, or get a new cover and start over -- if you try to 'lift' it and re-apply you will end up making things worse. Apply it well the first time, and you are good to go.
Bodyguardz -- Most recent purchase (6 months ago) included a 'pump-spray bottle' as a fluid applicator, and perhaps not quite enough fluid for applying a full body set, although the bottle could be refilled from the tap a few times. (most applicator fluids are nothing more than water with a drop or so of a lubricant like baby shampoo). The screen piece fit my old Touch Pro just fine, but the body pieces were in many cases a few millimeters too long or too short, depending -- not perfect coverage. The pieces are easier to 'slide around' during application than say, the ZAGG shield, but you will still risk trapping particles if you feel the need to 'lift' and start again. Apply it right the first time -- no matter that brand. Overall, the 'feel' of the Bodyguardz was excellent beginning on day one -- visibility was initially marred by cloudiness that went away within a few days. The body pieces began to pickup dirt and peel within a few weeks, although the screen and button pieces stayed admirably affixed until removal.
ZAGG vs Bodyguardz -- No winner. Different, but similar, including performance under various lighting conditions. ZAGG might be slightly harder to install, but not by much. Bodyguardz might feel 'smoother' on day one, and ZAGG might look 'clearer' on day one, but by a week in they are practically indistinguishable to anyone who isn't used to the subtle differences.
/2cents
I personally use wrapsol. I tried both invisible shield and wrapsol. Invisible shield is a solid product but after a few months, it starts to turn yellow and it starts to feel rubbery. Application is a pain in the ass to install for invisible shield but rather easy on wrapsol. They stop selling the front screen protector for wrapsol, all they sell now is the full body protection kit.
Just my two cents
Regardless how well they work, you won't find anything like this for 6.25 (plus shipping and handling)
I just ordered 3 and it was 24 dollars and some change.
Thank you for this post!
great find, wanted to get one before just didnt want to pay full price,

wish i would of seen this last week when i bought my hero. oh well i only paid $22 for it at bestbuy.
I ordered two and they got here for $15.
I just opened the packages and am having a hard time with it. I haven't even started trying to apply them, I am just trying to decide if I even want to.
They feel really grippy. The whole point of the touch screen is that it is smooth as silk so your fingers slide across it easy. With this zagg stuff, I am not sure that they will.
Also, I have the sprint hero. It has that sort of charcoal brown finish on the back. It is really smooth and nice feeling. It is actually my favorite thing about the phone.
After applying this zagg stuff, the phone will now be glossy and not smooth anymore. There is no way around it. I was hoping these films might show up and when they harden, feel as hard and slick as glass. Instead, I am faced with the choice of taking away the properties of my phone that I am in love with, for the advantage of keeping it scratch resistant (two month and no scratches anyway...)
What do you guys think? Anyone feel the same way I do?

i never buy the full body skins. i only buy the screen one, that's all you need. just be careful how wet the phone gets when applying, i killed a brand new palm pre once.
anyways it will feel a bit sticky for awhile, like a day. after that you won't notice a big difference in touch and feel. i do know when i first put mine on my hero, the screen acted funny for about an hour until it sorta dried, like the touch wasn't responsive. it's perfectly fine now.
Thank you thank you thank you. The website says 75% off a single item, so I didn't even bother trying to add more. Damn, paid extra $3 for another shipment. Still, I saved $37 off retail, so still not a bad deal at all. Have used these and recommend them all around; they do have a kinda weird texture, yeah, but they're almost bullet-proof.

Seems that I have some options now... Found a nexus amoled on ebay for 85... Takes 10 minutes to replace. The insurance takes ~30 days to process and I can't wait that long. So I bought a new nexus and the amoled. If insurance approves the claim, then ill sell the amoled and give them the phone. If they deny, ill replace broken amoled and sell nexus locally to a buddy (I can get more for it in working shape than with cracked screen).
Luckily, there was no damage beyond screen (digitizer and case are perfect still). So looks like ill get some good $ for it when repaired.
But now I'm back in the holding pattern for a new nexus to show up... Argh! (And I'm back on what seems like an ancient smartphone for a while -- bb 8900. Though it still responds to touch perfectly, the nexus' broken screen became flooded with purples and its not legible anymore. D'oh!)
I assume OP will be investing in a screen protector this time around

OP had phone in Zagg invisible shield, silicone gel skin, and horizontal cellet belt case at time of fall. I was getting out of the car and the seat belt caught the phone holster, sorta tearing it off of me, and it went from SUV height (5ish feet) to the concrete pavement below me. I even heard the crack of the screen (was a very painful sound to experience).
A sad day indeed.

well if this helps, she got her nexus back in less than a week. she is in new jersey, USA. i called HTC, the next morning she received shipping. she got her nexus back 2 days later all fixed up. less than a week. i guess it would depend where in the world you are located though. i think HTC has repair facilities on the east coast, near baltimore.
You had better luck than I did. I sent my phone out 13 days ago to HTC to repair a cracked screen. I paid $115 for the screen replacement on day 2, but STILL have not gotten my phone back. I am very disappointed in the Cust Care at HTC.
I just wanna say that OP has a cool screenname hehe.
And sorry about your screen. My advice - definitelly go with HTC. They know how to take these phones apart properly and they won't cut corners on that. You'll get a proper new native N1 screen.

Tough Case next time then
Thats unfortunate, OP.
My cheap gel case saved my precious from a bad drop to the asphalt. Not a scratch.
id really like an otterbox solution... but i rely on the dock for most of the day and night... and i am a battery swapper too. hmph...
this is not the first time ive had this happen... with the seatbelt taking my phone for a ride without me approving. some years ago, this happened with a BB 8700. but, i didnt know i didnt have the phone on my person until i back out the car and saw something on the ground in front of me. and then i realized that i drove over my @$#%&[email protected]# blackberry. i need a usb dongle coming out of my arm pit, and then id just have the n1 sewn into my forearm.
Anyone have experience in UK with HTC? what's the cost and time? Damn dropped it last night and the screen was with some scrambled colours. This morning had a proper look on screen and I can see cracked lines running all over. I think it's the inner screen that's broken.

Well... Sounds like you learned a valuable lesson on how to protect your new Nexus! Sell your SUV, get a sub-compact, and stop using seat belts!
Ordered from them a week ago.. Haven't gotten any kind of shipping confirmation. No response from customer service. Anyone else order from them?
I ordered one preemptively after how amazing it fit on my SGS3. Skin was defective, had raised bumps after multiple attempts to apply the skin. Contacted CS so they may be reviewing their stock doing quality control? Haven't received my replacement skin yet.

Ditto. Saw some good reviews on their product and ordered one only to find after application and dry that it had these huge vertical gashes in the material. Sent across an email and they said they'd happily replace it and that it was getting shipped soon, though I haven't seen a new tracking number or follow up email.

I got mine in the same day my N7 was delivered yesterday. I applied it yesterday and like every wet application, it takes a day or so to dry.
I still have a few water bubbles but I assume will dry by the weekend, I hope .
For tracking, have you checked the site with your order number? I did on this Tuesday and saw that they dispatched the order on the 16th.
Got my order promptly, but hated the product. My protector had a horizontal discoloration through the middle and the clarity was horrible. After 3 days I decided to return it, yet to hear back from customer service though.

Mine has a horizontal band through the middle too but it's very light and not very noticeable. I may eventually replace it with an Invisibleshield. To the OP I never got a shipping confirmation. Go to their website and check your status.
Though I will say just from the experience of applying it I don't think it's anywhere near as durable as an invisible shield. I was afraid I would tear it with the card they give you to apply it with.
I ordered mine a few days ago and received it last week.
They didn't send me a tracking number, they gave me a log in to their site and I was able to locate my tracking number in the "my account" section. I just applied it. I wasn't able to get the micro air bubbles out but thats normal and hopefully they go away soon.
The micro bubble go away after a day or so. I plan on posting a review on here when I get a sec to take some pics. If they don't go away after a few days email them and they will replace it. They have been the best company for customer service I have ever dealt with.
I ordered mine the first week of July and received them yesterday. Mine all went on without a hitch. It takes a week or so of use before you forget they're even on the device. XO makes my favorite screen protectors. I won't buy anything else. The wet application is by far the best way to put them on too.

To me Invisishield is a dry application by Zagg and is a bit thicker. I don't personally like them because they give a haze to the screen that bugs the hell outta me and has that ripple look to it. Also the ones I have used were a bit tacky as well.
The Zaggs are easy to put on as well though. It's really what you like as well. I know I loved my bestskinsever screen protector on my Nexus One back in the day. lol.
My XO skin arrived yesterday and installed it on my N7. After a few hours, there were still a lot of bubbles under the screen protector. But fast forward to 24 hours later and the skin is completely clear with no bubbles nor streaks. You really need to give it a full 24 hours to dry and fully cure. The final result does look amazing.

Yeah my microbubbles are gone as well now that its been a day and I agree it looks amazing. This is my first xoskin and I'm impressed with the quality of the screen protector, its a little rubbery but thats a small price to pay
I'm generally pleased with the xo skin on mine. It made screen unresponsive until this morning. Better quality than the last ghost armor I had but I have some vertical lines in mine.

Put mine on 3 days ago. It's ok. Still has a few bubbles on the sides. Makes my screen feel kind of sticky though. Not sure it's worth the money.not to mention I work in healthcare so need to clean my screen daily with alcohol. It becomes really sticky when cleaning it.
Had mine on for about 12 hours so far, and the screen is really unresponsive. Hope that works itself out. Its sticky to the touch, as well.
After two weeks I took it off and boy i am so glad I did. The screen is way more responsive and crisp looking without it. Even though it improved over time
the screen still felt slightly sticky the entire time.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
I've had mine on for about 2 weeks now, I love it. It has a slight rubber feel to it but I have not had any screen unresponsiveness issues.
Did you let it set up properly? Apply the skin + solution, squeegee and let it sit for about 12 hours?
3rd Whitedome Glass Failure. All after perfect installs & NO ISSUES until 3 weeks
Okay I am getting a little annoyed now..
I bought the whitedome glass for me and my wifes Note 8. Perfect installation. Glue spread perfectly and covered the entire screen. Dried perfectly not 1 bubble or spec of dust. 3 weeks later I wake up one morning and one of my edges looks like it lost adhesion and its peeling up and you can see the bubble/smudged glue under the screen not sticking to the glass of the phone anymore.
$50 later I ordered a new one and installed it again the same way. Perfect spread. No bubbles no dust nothing.
2 days after I put my new one on, my wifes phone starts doing the same thing!!! Now I have to order another one for her?
What a scam $50 bucks for it just to keep peeling up on the edges after 3 weeks... randomly overnight too... Only thing I can think of is CHEAP glue causing the issue. Amazon is prone to sending FAKE and CHEAP replacement items even on their "verified" sellers. Colognes, lotions, jewelry etc..
I contacted the manufacturer and they did not reply... on Amazon I contacted the seller and he said "Ask Amazon"... great customer service. FRAUDS.
I'd be furious too and would find another solution if I paid $50 for each glass. I just had to replace my glass today because the upper right corner came "unglued" - luckily I got a couple when Whitestone was having a blowout/EOL sale for nothing.

I just *****ed to amazon on their chat and they sent me a new one for free and refunded me one of the charges. Thats great and all but this is now the 2nd one on my wifes phone and i am already on my 2nd so what if they keep coming "unglued"...
mine's been going strong for a month and a half now.. no bubbles and no signs of adhesive wearing/screen becoming unglued. Also using it alongside a Spigen case too. I'd go so far as to say that the sceen protector is in 95% perfect condition since the install. Barely a hairline scratch to be seen.
Like Huey above, I've been using mine since Oct ~15th with no issues. It sounds like it could be curing issue if it happened twice where it's losing adhesion. Try using the sun to cure instead of the included lamp.
It's happened to mine also. It started losing adhesion on the right side of the screen out of nowhere. There was nothing touching that side of the screen so I was able to rule out anything pressing against the screen.

I'm sure mine happened from excessive pressure on the TGSP in the upper right corner. It's a tight fit in my front pocket of my jeans. Hopefully it doesn't happen again.
i got my whitestone 5 days ago, applied perfectly, everything is fine except that the glue on the right side of the edges are starting to show as white along the edges, a simple swipe of an alcohol pad took care of that
Mines been perfect on my Note8 and my wife's S8+ for over a month
wierdly mine has the same lift area as yours op. Although i want to say it was my fault cause i noticed it right after I went camping. So something must have happened while I was drunk roasting marshmallows

Whitestone should add a disclaimer, "Do not use while drunk roasting marshmallows"
I don't know if any of you have tried this. I had some bubbles come up on the top corner of my Whitestone Dome. Due to the case pushed a bit on it. It started late Saturday and continue to get larger. I was already contemplating replacing glass. I said let me give the heat gun a try. So I went ahead and heated that section up and then massaged it out. Now the bubbles are gone. I don't know if this is going to last. But as of right now I am bubble free. I did not cure it again but it might help after you massage bubbles out. I am at work and do not have my UV light with me.
As a lot of reviews mentioned, this glass can be broken easily.
Good for you guys that installation was perfect. Mine was a total waste. And i believe i received a scrap glue
My 2 cents worth... I installed Whitstone the first day on receiving my phone (sept 15) everything ok and was happy with the product, after doing my homework, brought a Caseology [Parallax Series] super fit and I was a happy-chappie Beginning of this week my phone fell.... no bs, a max 4cm, from the bathroom cabinet top into the first draw, it splinted heaps, I thought **** but ok better that than the phone right, now comes the shock looking for the replacement glass, guess what, they want another 40 euros, I've paid over 50 for the set, getting expensive! I contacted and wrote to Whitestone saying I only need a glass without anything else, could they give me a better price. They haven't bothered to answer me..... to which I'm using now AmFilm Dot Matrix 3D Curved Tempered Glass Screen which costs 12 euros and satisfied with. Cheers Collin.

Similar experience in terms of customer services, there's a problem with the glass I got. I contacted them via Amazon and they said they would send me another kit. However, it has been 20 days since and I got nothing. I message them again a week ago and no response.

They said they would send a replacement but I have yet to receive anything and they never responded to the following messages, just the initial one.
Glad I read all the feedback regarding this screen protector on here, I was looking at purchasing one but they definately won't be getting my money now!
They sound like a very shady company.
I think the glue has an issue with dealing with pressure after being cured. Now, I have beginnings of lines on the left side of my phone with the 2nd install. It's either a case of pressure/glue, or a case of manufacturing inconsistencies with the "flatness/curves". Surface reflections on this 2nd TGSP are different at the curved edges compared to the first TGSP I had on.
i am having a similar problem.
on the left side of the glass, i am seeing the glue starting to lift. very little, but its a fine line starting to show.
i have UAG monarch case, it line up good, no corner pushing it and i try to push in the corners just check.
so i believe the glue is not sustainable for long-term in and out of your pocket and hot/cold temperatures, and also pressure on it all the time. but at least is much better to clean and take off.
i guest that's how whitestone is making their cash.
because other loca glues are just not that safe to try.
oh well.
No competitor out there with them. so they are still charging us 50. and only 1 glass. goddamn.
Lovely! This is my second device, the first had a clicky feel on the bottom of the screen where is slides into the chin. That didnt really bother me, but it would also drain battery overnight when not used (from 100 to 78) the next morning. Returned it to bestbuy (got charged $45) and repurchased (yes i am not a hater, i like the phone) but this one creaks loudly from the screen (not hinge). Anyone having similar issues?
oh great.... I am getting mine tomorrow. I purchased from B&H and I got an extended warranty warranty for 2 more years through SquareTrade at time of purchase. The product is shipping from the US to me (in Canada), and the last thing I want to put up with is "this" kind of "issues". Oh jesus, let's hope and pray FedEx delivers a creak free unit.
As for battery issues, you might want to check out what is draining and using up your battery. You can also get some None_root apps to help "Sleep" apps that are sucking power while in standby mode.
Cheers,
Crossing fingers for you. My second came from B&H. Will be giving them a call tomorrow for options, most likely will end up keeping it like this and hope for a year of trouble free foldings The one that drained battery, it was also right off the box, i do not install any app until i make sure battery issues arent app related. And i also disabled 5g which made the phone heat up quiet a lot
QC seems to leave a lot to be desired, they put a plastic on the external sceeen that came poorly applied in both lol Got to love the razr, i am all about design, so i can gladly put up with some OCD inducing issues, but not pleased with the overall experience, not at $1200 (although high end phones are getting progressively more expensive, look what apple is doing, less for more, a 64GB iphone 12 is $830 plus the charger, it ends up close to $900, i hope ppl realize demand more for their $. Im definitely NOT getting and iphone again)
The first unit I got had a consistently loud creaky hinge too and there was some friction while opening so I got a replacement and to my surprise it's absolutely quiet and smooth!! So now I consider it not normal for a hinge that makes any noise.
Got my phone today
Well, it finally arrived after FedEx messed up the delivery date that was scheduled for last Friday.
I got distracted by the fact that my phone shipped without a screen protector or "Motorola Black" screen shield. The phone shipped folded, and the box looked unopened (the security decals looked super clean unaltered) and there was zero finger prints on the phone nor the display (it's a real finger print magnet like all my other phones lol).
Thankfully, the phone opens and closes like a well oiled hydraulic mechanism that was built by NASA with 0.01% tolerance.
Great! Yeah the ones with an internal screen film and unfolded were review units. Others come with a poorly applied plastic on the external screen, and come folded. My creaky razr also offers some resistance as mentioned above, the hinge would not creak, but rather the screen when being folded, i can feel it by touching the outter screen and back. It had to do with the folding trays rather than the hinge itself. Going back for a replacement.

Damn, I feel for you bro... are you in New York, or are you shipping it back and forth. Does B&H cover the shipping fees?
I had the 2019/early 2020 version of this phone, it creaked. The 5G version I have now creaks too. Both from day 1. Moto says it's "normal."
Well, I can report that mine is like I mentioned above, it folds and opens like a well oiled mechanism. I have had it since Monday of this week. I'm hoping that I am the norm and not the exception.
But I'm getting the feeling that this phone will be pretty scarce as far as distribution and total sales.
I've had mine for 4 days now, it emits a single squeak when closing if I use the inner screen for a bit, and makes a click when opening but no creaks that I've noticed.
I think if you leave the phone opened for a long time, the creak will disappear. Mine 1st gen razr is like that
I've had mine since release day. No squeaks or creaks. Just a smooth sound whenever I flip my wrist to open. But even slower opens don't have any noises. And I've been to the beach a few times where I've had sand get in the hinges... Little bit of blowing on the hinge and what little bit of grit is left doesn't seem to be a match for the steel gears after a couple days. Back to being like new.
Sucks you got a squeaker but I would be willing to bet it is in the minority.
No such issues with my Razr, smooth and quiet, although I find the grip to be a bit tricky with one hand, I wish they would had added two tiny grip points on the top sides, to be able to use the weight of the lower half to extend the screen without the risk of dropping the phone.
No such issues with mine, either. Was gifted this phone on my B'day, and I really wasn't planning on buying one, but I intend to keep it for a bit. It's been a decent experience overall.
