Tmobile stock 6.1 rom? - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile ROM Development

does anyone know where I can find the stock Tmobile Windows Mobile 6.1 ROM

I haven't seen any posted here but Tmobile may be able to help if you flash to their stock 6.5 rom and relock it, just say that you don't like the upgrade and want to go back to 6.1. That is what I would do anyway... But I prefer the custom ROMs personally. Good luck.

thanks, I might have to do that, but the actual problem is that I'm selling the phone on Ebay, and some people are asking for a stock ROM, I found the stock 6.1 ROM and I might just use that.

It was posted in this sub-forum long ago...and has probably sunk way down the thread.
Have you searched for it? cdguider was the thread OP, so that fact might help your search.

I have seen stock roms for other carriers just not Tmobile... I would like to have it as well because sometimes I know I will not have time to mess with my phone alot so I just want a stable quick rom that doesn't drain the battery. Please post a link if you find one.
EDIT: Think I found it... I'll try it out first and post a link if it's right.

Just did a search on cdguider (the OP as I mentioned above) and it was the first hit.

Oh nice! that has everything! thanx so much man

I have it on a CD if anyone can tell me how to rip it.

thats interesting, is a .exe file or do you see the .nbh file anywhere?

Usually, if you have winrar or 7zip, you can open/extract the .exe file and see what's inside...probably the .nbh file, among other things.
Or just run the .exe file from your computer while connected to TP2 via usb-activesync...and see what happens!

yeaa, I usually just run the .exe and it actually extracts the .nbh file to you Windows temp directory and i grab it from there and throw it on the SD card

How do I downgrade from WM5 back to WM2003SE

Found 2003SE ugly but at least useable. WM5 just runs too slowly for me. Do I just need to follow the 1.42 Rom flash tutorial on the wiki to reflash my existing Rom or are there specific steps that need to be done beforehand?
I changed the EXT Rom to 128K as per instructions for WM5 installation will this affect any reversal process?
Thx.
Hi
Yes, you have to do it 'special' way.
Just tell me why haven't you found this wiki page ?
Follow the process carefully.
There are bunch of people stuck with improperly downgraded devices (no risk though... they simply don't know how to repair it)
Good luck

Just execute the .exe, if you are lucky you won't get any county or model errors, but I doubt it. If you get errors, you will need to follow the instructions by cdaly1970

the temp directory in XP is under is something like C:\Documents and Settings\Userid\Local Settings\Temp\xxxxx.tmp

Discovery? I think I found an easy way to upgrade ROMS

Hey guys, I'm new to this side of the forums. Just bought a Treo 750 and I think I like better than my old Hermes.
Anyways, I didn't have a MicroSD card adapter to format my card, so I did a little bit of risk taking and decided to flash my ROM any way I could (I'm impatient). What I did was take the custom RUU updater from the Patcher/Unlocker and upgraded using that. I'm not sure if this is already posted somewhere, and I didn't see it, but I think its pretty cool and easier than formating an SD card every time you need to upgrade ROMS.
Here is what I did.
Find the ROM I wanted
http://palmone.r3h.net/downloads.palm.com/Treo750_2_23_ROW_EN_DesktopUpdater.zip
Having 7-zip installed, I decompressed the File and found CHEEIMG_FW.nbh
I then renamed that to: CHEEIMG_FW.nbh
I made a new folder and put the RUUWrapper and CHEEIMG_FW.nbh into the same folder.
finally, I just hit all the buttons and checked all the boxes to upgrade my ROM.
Now, I have windows Mobile 6.0 (from 5.0) on my Treo.
I am thinking that I can do this to the Radio also, but I'm a little scared to try it. If anyone is brave to tested and tell me, I'd really appreciate it.
I have attached the RUUWrapper that the Cheetah Patcher/Unlocker comes with. Obviously I didn't really make anything.
If this has already been posted, Just delete this thread...Just trying to bring new in site.
tested now on treo 750v with spanish language
Just work great and have english lang now and win mobile 6!
flash only OS CHEEIMG_FW.nbh

So is this only updated OS and not the Radio?
Wow, sorry...
What I meant was name the file CheetahPatched.nbh
I don't know if it matters what name it is, aslong as its in the folder it might work.
But, if that doesnt work, just name the rom to CheetahPatched.nbh
I don't know if the Radio Rom will be upgraded as well, but I guess you could be brave and try it.
Since my last post I went ahead and tried it.
Everything went smoothly.
Radio did infact show a newer version 1.54.01.
But,.....
It could just be something I did wrong on my end, but the SW still was 1.13 CNG.
So I went ahead and flashed the Official ATT 2.25, and then it still said 1.13 CNG.
Finally, I flashed the RWE the normal way (editing the payloads.xml) and now everything shows the correct Sw & Fw.
So I may have just had an isolated issue.
If another person comes along and gives your flashing method a run and everything updates correctly, then I will be convinced it was just my isolated issue.
Thanks either way.
Berd
Mine says 1.13ATT...I really don't know much about the Treo Phone, since I moved froma Hermes, so I don't know what that really means lol.
I believe you need to run "UpdInfo.CAB" extracted from the updater version to get the ROM version to read correctly...

I just tried this method to 'downgrade' my radio version. It went through all of the motions, and then ended up not having changed it at all.
Never mind - it was worth a try.
I haven't tried using this method for upgrades of radio though, so it'll be good to find out if it works for that..
Hope it works out for you, if you need a SD card, I think buy.com has a 4 gig for 15 bucks right now, free shipping. that way you can upgrade the normal way.

How to restore orginal ROM

Btw: in your opinion, what do you think is the BEST rom out there? I want something that doesn't lag, still has the button and something 3D like.
Anyone?
The first sticky thread on this section is called "NEW ORIGINAL X1 ROMS".
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=475482
Then click on the first link in it.
Find the ROM version that relates to your country and operator and download it. For example, if you have an X1 from O2 in the UK then there is a ROM for that version.
Install the ROM on your phone by using either of these methods...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=446070
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=445662
If you're going to be returning your X1 to the operator, it might be a good idea to get rid of the Hard-SPL as well. Follow the instructions towards the end of this page to put the stock SPL back on your handset.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=431218
All of these links were stickies at the TOP of the X1 ROMS section.
I hate myself for saying it, but this forum is for application developers and technically inclined people to improve their day-to-day use of their handsets. Fresh faces are always welcome, but don't expect to be simply handed a complete solution when chances are that your question has been asked before. PLEASE use the Search facility towards the top right of each page to see if your question has been answered before.
As for ROMs, I'm currently running Itje's Touch-IT Xperience v4.5. I don't understand what you mean by lagging too much, because v4.5 is FAR faster and smoother than the stock Sony-Ericsson ROM that the phone comes with. Sure, there are still one or two issues that are being addressed but they are small fixes that can be fixed with cabs.
Sorry but I'm still confused

So you got your phone from Telstra in Australia? If so then that's the right one.
It isn't a .nbh file but it gives you a .image file in the end.
If you use the SD-card method to install the ROM (this one here), you rename the .image file to Kovsimg.nbh
Copy it to the SD card.
Turn the phone off.
Hold the down volume button while turning the phone back on.
This *should* set the phone into flashing itself from the Kovsimg.nbh file on the SD card.
I'm repeating what was said in that link. I wouldn't give you a list of links without a good reason.

extract file from *.nbh ( ROM file )

Is it possible to extract mp3 files from the rom file ruu_signed.nbh?
i think what ur looking for is easy, there are plenty of software out there that could give you that. I remember using Koch nbh by dutty for Hermes but works fine for the Rhodium ONLY to extract files and not to combine.
But the real question is: how can cook an nb file back to nbh file? because I would like to go back to WWE rom, and I thought of extract the nbh file and pulling out the windows.nb then changing it back to nbh but this last piece of the puzzle is not available.
I went little crazy and used dutty's tool to convert nb to nbh and tried it on rhoidum as RHODIMG.NBH then putting it on the SD and going to bootloader. it seems to be stuck on loading all the time without going forward.

Use something like yang to rebuild the ROM image. You won't be able to flash it until Hard SPL is out.
I dunno if this will work on a rhodium or not, but it works great with dumping raphael roms. You can get anything you want out of them. You can also remove stuff or insert stuff and re-cook. Just read the text file for directions; there's nothing to it.

The only other thing I can think of is to have the latest radio from Windows Mobile. When you were using windows mobile, did you ever flash a custom rom? If you did then that may have fixed your problem if you were using the latest radio version. If you weren't, then I guess if you want to fix your problem, you're gonna have to flash a windows mobile 6.5.x rom with the latest radio and then flash android.

radios than the one that I had. SD card method
did not work and the RUU started out fine but
quits at 8% rebooting my phone and displaying
Error 328 in the RUU on the PC. Anyway, here are
the links...

did you read the whole post that i had provided before??? there isasolution to yourproblem there.
Way 3 (I know I said two ways...): There are a few
stock roms that come with new radios. One of
them can be downloaded directly from HTC and it
is for the Sprint Touch. This one comes with Radio
3.42.30
The other one is for Bell Mobility and this one
comes with Radio 3.42.50.
Why am I giving "Way 3" if the other two options
seem much easier?? I have run into the problem
where my device would not let me flash other
radios than the one that I had. SD card method

I've read the whole post but I don't understand the 3rd way. If I click on the Bell rom with radio 3.42.50 it bring me to the HTC site and there nothing to download.
I've try to download the All Above Radios zipped. It gave me 3 files in a zip. I rename the file 3.42.50 in RUU_signed.nbh and put it in the folder of the ROMUtilityUpdate. Maybe is there I do something wrong ...
Did I miss something ???
