[Update 2] Quake III Theme Project for WM6.5 and M2D (Help welcome!)

hey everyone!
i'm just a simple software engineer with no photo-chop skills whatsoever and i'm a die hard quake 3 fan...so i splashed together the following QVGA wallpaper/lock screen for winmo6.5 and backgrounds for QVGA manila2d!!!
mods may freely move this post/thread to an appropriate section if the general area is deemed to be inappropriate for a theme/wallpaper development request
my idea was to keep it clean, simple, and minimalistic
in this thread, you will find:
Post 1:
this post. an introduction. and a request for help!
the attachments in this post are some screenshots and the resource images used for the various items in this project.

Post 6:
FAQs
for those that want to contribute, all i ask is that the results be posted back here!!! once we have some nice results, i will incorporate them into the relevant posts of this thread.
cheers everyone!
P.S. check out the screen shots! they are a bit old now cuz i have made some major and minor changes here and there but you'll get the main idea from the screen shots...after all, its nothing complex, JUST A THEME IDEA!!!
Manila2D Theme
TWO Options:
Option 1
Use this option if you are comfortable with the M2D theme you are currently using and if you want ONLY the portrait and landscape BACKGROUND images.
1. Download hh_fw_background.png and hh_fw_background_landscape.png and keep them handy on your device/storage card.
2. Navigate to Start->Settings->Today and choose the "Items" tab. DISABLE "TouchFLO" and tap OK.
3. Using a suitable File Manager (Total Commander or Resco Explorer recommended), navigate to \Windows and make BACKUPS of the existing hh_fw_background.png and hh_fw_background_landscape.png files.
4. Now OVERWRITE hh_fw_background.png and hh_fw_background_landscape.png with the set of files you downloaded from this post.
5. Navigate to Start->Settings->Today and choose the "Items" tab. ENABLE "TouchFLO" and tap OK.
6. The backgrounds should now be visible in M2D.
CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE
Option 2
Use this option if you want to use my M2D theme. The theme is based on the M2D theme included in PDACorner's Ultimate X2.V8 WM6.5 ROM. Currently, I have ONLY changed the portrait and landscape backgrounds from that theme.
1. Download M2DC (search this forum for a download link)
2. Download ASCIIker's Quake III Arena M2D Theme.zip
3. RENAME ASCIIker's Quake III Arena M2D Theme.zip to ASCIIker's Quake III Arena M2D Theme.m2dct
4. Use M2DC to apply the new theme.
WM6.5 Default Lockscreen items
1. Download ASCIIkerQ3AWallpaperLockscreen.JPG and save it to "My Documents" in your DEVICE STORAGE.
2. Navigate to Start->Settings->Today and choose the "Appearance" tab. At the bottom, select "Use this picture as the background" and point it to ASCIIkerQ3AWallpaperLockscreen.JPG (whereever you saved it).
Following steps are optional:
3. In case your Lockscreen is styled differently (e.g. slider at the top or in the middle), download ASCIIKerQ3ADefaultLockScreenCPRs.zip and extract the contents of the zip.
4. Inside the zip, you will find TWO files: LS_LockScene_240x320.cpr and LS_LockScene_320x240.cpr
5. Using a suitable File Manager (Total Commander or Resco Explorer recommended), navigate to \Windows and make BACKUPS of the existing LS_LockScene_240x320.cpr and LS_LockScene_320x240.cpr files.
6. Now OVERWRITE LS_LockScene_240x320.cpr and LS_LockScene_320x240.cpr with the set of files you downloaded and extracted in Step 4.
7. Soft rest your device.
WM6.5 Advanced Lockscreen items
1. Download ASCIIkerQ3AWallpaperAdvancedLockscreen.JPG and save it to "My Documents" in your DEVICE STORAGE.
2. Navigate to Start->Settings->Today and choose the "Appearance" tab. At the bottom, select "Use this picture as the background" and point it to ASCIIkerQ3AWallpaperLockscreen.JPG (whereever you saved it).
3. Download ASCIIKerQ3AAdvancedLockScreenCPRsAndImages.zip and extract the contents of the zip.
4. Inside the zip, you will find SIX files: LS_LockScene_240x320.cpr, LS_LockScene_320x240.cpr, LS_LockSlider.png, LS_LockSlider_Dwn.png, LS_LockSliderLong.png, and LS_LockSliderLong_Dwn.png
5. Using a suitable File Manager (Total Commander or Resco Explorer recommended), navigate to \Windows and make BACKUPS of the existing LS_LockScene_240x320.cpr, LS_LockScene_320x240.cpr, LS_LockSlider.png, LS_LockSlider_Dwn.png, LS_LockSliderLong.png, and LS_LockSliderLong_Dwn.png files.
6. Now OVERWRITE LS_LockScene_240x320.cpr, LS_LockScene_320x240.cpr, LS_LockSlider.png, LS_LockSlider_Dwn.png, LS_LockSliderLong.png, and LS_LockSliderLong_Dwn.png with the set of files you downloaded and extracted in Step 4.
7. Soft rest your device.
Your lockscreen will now have a bad ass sliding Rocket Launcher at the bottom!
Miscellaneous Interface Elements and Skins for Third Party Programs
ASCIIker's Quake 3 Arena WM6.5 Interface Elements
Planned items:
1. Start Menu icon (will probably be the usual Quake 3 small icon)
2. Wait Animation (will probably be an animated Quad Damage)
3. WM Theme (TSK) (will probably be for WM6.5 ONLY, pure black top and bottom bars planned, selection highlight color will probably be BLOOD RED)
4. WM6.5 Lockscreen In-Call and Out-Call Screens (how does a sliding Gauntlet sound to Ignore a call? "Humiliation!!!")
Skins for Third Party Programs
1. GAlarm - Download ASCIIkerQ3AGAlarmWallpaper.png and set it as the wallpaper in GAlarm
2. Open for suggestions!
Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
1. What is the difference between the Default Lockscreen and the Advanced Lockscreen?
The only item available for download for the Default Lockscreen is a simple wallpaper. It is meant to be used with the standard WM6.5 Lockscreen (with the slider on the BOTTOM).
The items for the Advanced Lockscreen include a wallpaper, a Rocket Launcher styled slider, and Lockscreen CPRs to glue it all together. The effect is a lockscreen with a Rocket Launcher at the bottom!
2. Does ASCIIker need any help with this project?
YES PLEASE!!! I am NOT an artist and I have ZERO experience with photoshop (I used MS Paint for this project, no joke!). So I would really appreciate it if someone can help with the M2D theme and the WM Theme (TSK)!

(03/05)New skin available for WMP
Hello guys.A new skin is available for WMP on the first post. What do you think about it?
TVM great work on these skins.
WRT the WMP skin, I'd greatly appreciate a version with a plain black background rather than the carbon.
Also, if there is enough interest, could the album cover images be reduced in size a little in any future version? The current size looses a little in quality, as its dimensions are larger than those used in the embedded Sense 2.5 player.
Much appreciate your work.

[OMC skinnable clock widget] Calling all skinners!

REWARD:
Any skinner that creates and either posts or sends me a valid OMC theme to publish gets the full app for free!
One More Clock! has been on the market for a few weeks, and recently I've added a powerful skinning engine to the app. However, what's a good skinning engine without skins? The first place I thought of was XDA.
So without further ado:
The app is available on the market as One More Clock Free... the apk is also attached.
1) Add one OMC widget to your home screen. Then click on the clock to get to the options screen.
2) Click on "Widget Theme" to download the starter pack. After that is done, you will have an /OMC folder on your sd card.
3) Click on "Enable/Disable Widget Sizes" from the prefs screen and enable Theme Tester. Back out until you get back to your home screen.
4) The attached 4 tutorials can then be unzipped over the existing content in the OMC folder.
5) Look at the 00control.xml file in each of the four folders for a detailed tutorial on how OMC skinning works!
The OMC Theme Tester (the Raccoon) is a handy tool for rapid tweaks and changes to your theme:
1) Once you have a valid basic xml file, copy the theme folder to the SD card using ADB explorer or similar.
2) Fire up the OMC theme tester on your phone/emulator, and select your theme from the list.
3) the 4x2, 4x1 and 3x1 widgets are rendered onscreen and re-read from sdcard every 3 seconds.
4) make any changes you have for the fonts, bitmaps or 00control.xml file from your computer, and push to the phone via ADB to see the changes instantly!
When you're happy with the theme, just zip up the theme folder and rename the extension to .omc .
To offer downloads of the theme to paid users, after you upload the .omc file, rename the http:// to omc:// and https:// to omcs:// . OMC (paid version) is configured to automatically install any themes found at an omc: link, no download/unzip required.
Thanks!
I guess I can go first, too...
Since I laid down a reward for skinners, I guess I should prove OMC to be worth your time. Here you go (Iron Indicant)... this theme was created in 2 hours over the last two days (mostly photoshopping the background).
The clock face rotates with the time of day. There aren't many clock widgets out there that can render that...
Or this one (Hello Droid) - just something fun and different. Can I interest anyone?
Or how about this (Vertical)?
And second...
Here's a theme that a tester submitted to me earlier. Anyone interested?
And third.
Just one more for today - Dyma Dynamics.
