Bluetooth Headset (For one ear) - HD2 Accessories

I've been searching on both the forum and net for suggestions on a bluetooth headset. I mostly see people suggesting a two ear headphone type, which does look nice. Unfortunately, I work with people a lot and wearing such a headset is a big no-no. I'll get complained on in a heartbeat. I would like something that can push music from my phone, take calls, and of course work with an HD2 on Energy roms. No headphone types please just take up one ear.
Any suggestions?

I got this Samsung WEP 870, the sounds quality is not bad consider that price tag is $30+. I used that for music and talk. You can also hook it with the stereo lanyard. Attached the link for reference.

I know I don't want be that guy. I work patrol and have to one ear on my unit's raido at all times. Thus, I wouldn't benefit from wearing stereo headphone in the unit. And just thinking of getting down on a call with headphones covering both ears makes we wonder how fast someone would call in to say, "he was listening to music and it's very disrespectful." It's one of things that sets policy and gets a guy canned. But, like I said before they look sweet.

Too bad your radio doesn't support blue tooth.

plantronics voyager 855 works well with either one ear or with the detachable stereo ear piece.

Headphone conspiracy

I believe there's a conspiracy how headphones break in a month or sooner. I think it's a market conspiracy that companies use so, the consumer doesn't stop with one headphone, but keeps buying more and more.
what you guys think?, am I high on something

I've had the same pair of Phillips Headphones since 2004... they cost £18... What are you all doing to your headphones to destroy them!?!?
I use the headphones that usualy came with the phones. Never broked one, butI do change phone a bit...
That said, I have the same Panasonic headphones for 20+ years, that I use when at home, for better quality.
I still have a working pair that came with the original game boy, plus a Moto s9 BT headset i had for about a year now, psp headphones I had since 07 i think, HTC headphones that came with my Dash (they even survived the washer & dryer), some great sounding sony headphones i bought from radioshack about 2 years ago, but the only ones that fell apart were some dj style Craig brand chepos from kmart.
wow, I'm cursed with headphones. I remember buying apple headphones for like 50 bucks (what a rip off), they didn't even last an year...

I had various Jawbones and BlueAnt headsets, most recently the ERA and the Q2.
The Jaewbone ERA was good and fit my ear well even without the ear hook, but the call quality was sometimes not so good. Some people had a hard time hearing me. Not sure why but I had this issue with all the jawbone headsets I've used. Sometimes people tell me it sounds great and then their are some that can hear me. I did get complaints about wind if it was windy. It may work great with the Note II don't know I lost it before I got my Note II.
The BlueAnt Q2 fit's a bit loose in my ear and requires I use the ear hook. But the overall call quality is been better for me. Another feature I like it that it downloads you phone book and can tell you who's calling (if their in contact). This feature workes great with my Note II, on my S2 it did not, though I was running a custom ROM and that my have caused it. The Jawbone only let you set up 10 contacts to readout their names. Wind can also be an issue with the Q2 (as with every headset I've ever tried including the Jawbone).
Update: just noticed the Q2 won't announce callers in my contact list now that I'm running a custom ROM.

[Q] Do the "stock GS4A earbuds control volume/playback?

I just got a GS4A in somewhat terribad physical condition but it works 100% and it didn't come with any of the original accessories (box, adapter, microUSB cable, and of course the earbuds).
Can anyone that has purchased a GS4A brand new tell me if the stock Samsung earbuds have a volume control in the little remote pod in the cord, and if it can be used for controlling playback as well (Play/Pause, maybe 2 clicks for next song, 3 clicks for Previous, that sort of thing)?
Been searching for an answer but haven't found one yet, not sure precisely which earbuds are included with the GS4A so if anyone can take a picture of theirs or the remote pod (close up/macro image) I'd greatly appreciate it, thanks.
The headset that came with my i9295 has controls, yes, and they work well. I think they can do double-tap for next song in the player I use (poweramp), but don't hold me to that because I got a much nicer set of headphones with my purchase from the store (SOL republic Tracks HD), so I haven't been using the included earbuds much at all.

Are you talking about the international version or the SGH-I537? I have the I537 and it didn't come with any earbuds...

My international one did, but honestly it wouldn't have been a big loss if it didn't. As most bundled earbuds they are good enough, but nothing to be all that happy about. The shape makes them hang a bit awkwardly in my particular ears, and they seem to get pulled out a lot easier than other earbuds I use. The only reason I use them at all is that they are a compatible headset that is more discrete for use when I'm out on town, rather than my over-ear Tracks HD that I use to listen to music and so when I'm at home.
Wow, AT&T being so cheap they can't toss in a pair of $3 earbuds, good lord.
Oh well, I found some on eBay that claim to be the "real deal" Samsung product, which upon getting them I will promptly disassemble and attach my current Koss earbuds where were previously transplanted onto an iPod/iPhone earbud cable.
Thanks for the info...

Good choice, Koss earbuds are way superior to these. Unfortunately I don't have the tools right now or I'd do the same myself, I have a pair of old Koss where the contact broke that are just waiting for such a project.

[Q] Tiny hole on the back

I was looking at my phone and was wondering what that hole in the back was?

It's a microphone.
Sent from my Nexus 6
Android is run by tiny little Android mice inside the phone - this is an air hole for them to breathe through.
No air = No Android, so make sure not to block this hole under any circumstances (including with a case).

As strange as it sounds this is actually the correct answer. Mice are extremely efficient air to energy conversion ecosystems, and they are used primarily to provide enough power to the extra pixels of the QHD display in the Nexus 6. DO NOT COVER THE HOLE.
Is this the only microphone on this device?(one for noise canceling?) Or is there another one somewhere else, maybe in the lower speaker grille or something?

Truth is in BOLD.
Possibly a 3rd by the camera as others have stated (I can't comment since I haven't verified).

Anyone tried Taotronics BT earphones with G4?

Hi,
I am very pleased with my Sony SBH50 BT earphones but they are not made for sports, I am tempted by the Taotronics magnet sport model but I wonder how well they perform with the G4.
Anyone tried it?

I got them for Xmas, they are amazing, battery last like 8 hours continuously, get Viper 4 android and they are even better, and when they say noise cancelling they mean it, i had my phone music volume at half and i turned the tv 40/60 and i couldn't hear it, super easy to set up and the volume on the headset is separate so be sure to turn that up as well as your phone volume

They work very well. Clear sound. Sometimes paring messes up and you have to re-pair. But haven't happened to me in a long time. Overall very please with the sound quality decent highs and mids. You need an EQ to get better basses though.
