would it be possible to design an app to take screen shots of the apps your currently running, such as shootme or drocap or w/e?
It's not an app, but USB connect your hero to PC, then go to your android-sdk-windows folder, then to the tools folder, then open DDMS. Feature-packed, including the screenshot option.
I'm confused...
You want to make another app that does the same thing those already do?
Not that that's bad, variety is great but you know you CAN take screen shots of running apps with ShootMe right?
For example, this is THE BEST tower defense game I've found for android yet Screenshot taken with ShootMe

CrystalLight It's fun
id like to design an app to take screen shots of an app as its opened, and when longpressing home, it will show the screen shots instead of the icons. id also like it to double as a task manager, long pressing the screenie would give options such as ending the process or switching to it. very webos-like, but tweaked enough to avoid any legal issues

How's that?
Not sure where to begin on that one. If you could find out what manages the open apps, uh.. app, and had some crazy JsChiSurf-on-redbull skills that would probably be a good starting point

From the look of the webpage, it looks like this is commercial software. Can you clarify where you acquired these apks and what their licensing terms are?

You might want to remove the download then. Unless you are authorized by the developer to distribute or the app is publicly downloadable from the webpage, it's probably considered 'warez'.
Don't know if this is the beta or not then but two things I didn't like about it were that with prediction it would cover some of the text field where I was typing and look bad and the other thing was there was no way to retract it from the screen

Well there have been hacks to get rid of the bottom softkey row but it gets rid of it in all apps which starts a no-no.
Another method would be to use homescreens that are full screen... kinda like the ones you have to launch (basically an app). You don't really get rid of the bars, just have a program covering them up.
Another method, which I used to use, is to skin the bars with the same image so it appears they're gone, with just the background and icons and softkey text. It actually works well. Of course you need WM6.5 that allows skinning.
Other methods include "desktop" replacements like WAD and such. They basically skin the bars to your liking and works with older windows mobile OS's

I'd like to know this also...
And it'd be amazing if anyone ported this to vga...

Hi Guys, I am a noob developer. I just made my first app. It is very basic. It just tell time out loud when you press the button. It is very basic Here is the Link.

Try it out, and tell me things that will make me better. If you think it is good than please rate it, and leaving a comment saying so on the market. If you think it sucks, than please send me an e-mail or PM about why you think so. Thanks!
Tried it. Couldn't get it to do anything though. When I press it it doesn't tell me anything. Other than that, unless its just me, I would suggest making it into a widget. If it were a clock widget that you could press to hear the time (for those sunny days where its hard to see the screen) then it would actually be a pretty handy app for this and other phones with smaller low resolution screens.

I might use it if it were optimized for the size of the status bar with cleaner looking lines, ie not auto resized by android

what difference does it make if they are optimized for ONE specific screen resolution? you do realize depending what device you are on, it will have to re-size it anyway.
this happens with ALL STOCK IMAGES.
so again, why wouldnt you use them, Mr. 35 posts?

Wow, holy **** first of all settle down.
It must be the compression on your screenshot making it look a little off. I'll give it a shot.
And what does my post count have to do with anything? That is completely irrelevant.
ok swearing is a no no here.and assuming that they wont work rather than asking isnt the best policy either.
also it wouldnt be the compression of the image posted rather the fact that it shows almost tripple actual size.
I don't see anything in the Forum Rules about cursing.

Here you go guys. This in my opinion is the best program to lock apps with the fingerprint. I've been using it for about a week now and it's been solid. The UI is very clean as well as the operations. And it's made for Samsung devices. Works great on the Note 4.

I didn't even know this program had a widget lol. Doesn't matter as you don't need to use the widget for anything. This is as simple and convenient as you get.
Can this app hide the icons of the protected apps? I need something to hide the icons all together and only have them appear once I enter my fingerprint.
That would certainly be a neat feature. I think the closest we can get is to remove the icon from the drawer through twiz or nova.

Verizon N4 : Thank me if I helped ya
I tried that app, then quickly uninstalled after finding out that locked apps will still show a full thumbnail in the recent apps list... that kind of defeats the purpose of privacy.

Other from that, why does this take up like 130mb of ram? lol by far the highest in my running apps list!
Mines showing this. With Google inbox taking up like 150mb. That damn nhl app lol.
And if you greenify the app , it will be crippled.

Yes. That is for sure a deal breaker. Now we have to disable the switching apps button. Which as far as I know is not doable.
