As of this morning 'all' my widgets set on the various luancher pages are displaying this message - even stock widgets like the news. I have rebooted, cleared cache, etc to no avail! None of these widgets are on the SD Card. I am running unrooted FroYo with LauncherPro.
Any Ideas?
adb logcat your startup like:
adb logcat > C:\results.txt
Keep the command running until your phone completely boots and you go to your home screen

I am using Cyanogen 3.9.2 with most applications on the sdcard. I booted my phone without sdcard. Now after I boot my phone with the sdcard in again, all applications on the card are acting weird. Force closes, reduced privileges for some applications (no network connectivity) etc.
Is there something I can do to fix this instead of just reinstalling every appication, like recreating some files?

Have you got CMs recovery? If so go into the console in recovery and type fix_permissions - Not to sure if this will help but give it a go.. If not please post the logcat errors.
I did "fix_permissions" from the recovery console but it didn't help.
My logcat can be found at:
http://pastebin.com/m4eaa04e0
And I double checked. The files in the app/ and dalvik-cache/ on the sdcard are there with the right permissions. Unchanged as they were before this problem occurred.
My sdcard seems to be fine (no corruption) and is correctly mounted on the phone.
I also reinstalled Cyanogen 3.9.2. No luck
You're logcat is cut off. Says "installed without..." then moves on to the next line

I noticed that too. But I copied it exactly as it was. I think the part following "installed without" is just an empty string :|
My Weather & Toggle widget and addon disappears from the home screen upon rebooting? It still shows on the SD card but won't install, I have to uninstall and re-download from the market again and all is well.
Anyone have any ideas?
i had this problem and just set the install location back to 1 and then installed these so they were on the phone and then they stayed after reboots. seems some apps arent compatible with the froyo apps2sd method yet.

Didn't think of that...I'll move them to phone instead of SD card, reboot and report. Should do the same thing as opposed to adb shell.
EDIT: tried moving it from SD to internal phone and it immediately deleted the widgets off the home screens. I then rebooted and they are still gone, so I had to re-install again. If I uninstall it, change the location to 1 and reinstall it, will it move everything off the SD card or just the Weather & Toggle widget?
EDIT #2: Solved the problem of the Weather & Toggle Widget disappearing from the home screen. Just delete the W&T widget, enable debugging, open a command prompt, go to sdk\tools folder and type-
adb devices (then enter, to make sure you're connected)
adb shell (then enter)
pm setInstallLocation 0 (then enter)
exit (then enter)
re-install the W&T widget and reboot. Now go back to the adb shell and set location to 2 to open up the apps 2 SD card on Froyo for future downloads! Works like a charm
Hi there.
I was trying to root the captivate.
The superuser icon appeared but was stopping unexpectedly all the time, not just the superuser, but all the apps from the root.
So, in the safe screen, i erase all the data and cache, i don't know why i do that, so now all the processes are stopping unexpectedly all the time, i can't do nothing with in the phone.
What should i do now ?
Thank so much for helping me.
Edit Update
I manage to go to the safe screen again, and install the update.rar again.
but the warnings of the "stopping unexpectedly" was appearing all the time, i was closing, but a new one pops on the screen, somehow i manage to go to the sd confg. and i unmount the sd and format.
so now the big error is that the typing letters is not working. and some notifications appears.
in the time i was typing this, the notifications returns to appeares all the time, so i unmount the sd and format again.
the typing was returned , but 1 minute after, notifications returns.
i will try to install the 2.2 Froyo now
sorry for my english
edit
now is working 100% whith 2.2
=DDDDDDD

i ran into something like this yesterday, i just popped the card out and put it back in, seemed to fix it...
I tried it a number of times. I uninstalled the adb composite drivers seemed to had worked but then it stooped working. It was working when I first updated the drivers the first time.
yep
Confirmed... I am having this problem as well after rooting device.
I just noticed the same today
Is there solution to this ?
An obvious thing, but important. Your NC needs to be on and unlocked for it to recognize as external storage, but it only needs to be plugged in for adb access.
If this is already the case, try going into device management and uninstalling (but not deleting) the Android Phone or Android ADB Device or whatever the entry is called. Scan for changes again. It should show up as external storage now. If you need adb access again, you can simply install the driver using the usual method.
I had to repeat this once or twice, but my NC always shows up as external storage in Explorer now. I think this is what fixed it (maybe + a couple reboots)
When I go to device manager there is no Android Phone or Android ADB Device listed
The only strange thing is that under Portable devices I get I: drive with yellow triangle.
Hello all.
I just installed Nova Launcher on my Fire HD 8 and have been trying to add widgets to the home screen. But everytime I do, it just goes to the firs settings window and nothing on the home screen. I found a tutorial on having to do something with the appwidget file, adding .sh to the end of it then putting it in /sdcard. I did all that but can't figure out what to do after. It's saying to run adb shell in terminal which I tried but keep getting "adb: not found" (using Terminal Emulator app) . I'm completely lost and hope someone can guide me.
Thank you all!
