The HP H4350 (iPAQ) is compatible with WHAT ROM?
One of my clients knows that I'm pretty active in the PDA/PPC Modding/ ROMming arenas, and gave me an HP H4300/4350, last night to flash and modernize...
Since I just got up, I figured I'd just ask the crew(s) that I know are involved in the same smeg as me..
You guys.
Here's the Skinny:
Microsoft Pocket PC
V.4.20.2 (Build 14053)
1996-2003 Micro$oft Corp.
Processor: Intel PXA225
Memory: 56.77MB (w00t!)
Anybody got anything? ROM(s)? Bootloaders? Flashing hints/ tips/ instructions? A swift kick in the ass?
Hit me up!
Thnx, all.

hi guys,
its possible to install an alternative operating system on the HTC S730? For example a special Linux distribution?
greets
mike
Sure! Did you develop it?
oh.. sorry i wanted to ask if there is already a distro, because i'm not able to develop one
There are some works going on to run linux on the S710.
Maybe this is a point to start:

I pray for Android to be available eventually.
oh.. i watched the android demo video. I'm really surprised..
Will this OS run on all Smartphones? For example on our HTC Wings?
the guys over in the kaiser forum have recently got basic android running on their touchscreen devices but its uses a mixture of linux (to shut down WM and launch android!) and a 24mb cab file..! awesome thou! i tried it on my kaiser however it only ran for 10 seconds and hasnt worked since, BUT its a start!!!
is android also available for mobile phones without a touchscreen?

Yes, it is designed for both touch and non-touch.
Hello
Title says it all.
Do you think it is possible to port Nokia's MaemoOS (www.maemo.org) from the new Nokia N900 to hTC devices?
Thanks for answers.

Hi,
What are the difference with it and Winmo, Android,...?
that's hot!
im curious too about maemo...
i've taked a look on the web,but i found nothing....
It's Debian based running Hildon-Desktop on top...
With enough devs doesn't seem too hard to port, we already got Linux Kernel running on some PDA's it's mostly an Hildon-Desktop doing the rest.
Would be interesting indeed, I am currently waiting for Android to the HD, but Maemo would be nice too ! And I think I am not the only one.

There is community driven edition of Maemo called Mer. It is fully open source and it should in theory be possible to run it on blackstones at the moment. But it is not that usable/fully polished as Maemo 5 on Nokia n900. HTC Touch Pro is already mentioned on http://wiki.maemo.org/Mer/Status.
PS. I'm following UPS delivery of my n900, will have it on monday
Don't forget that the N900 is a really powerfull device with alot more "oempf" then our HD's.
I think that as an linux distributable, android is allot more qaulified for our HD's then Meamo will ever be
Thank you all for very good replies
I did not think that this would make such an interest...hope more people will read this and maybe some DEVs too
probably yes, but given the time and effort required, it would be easier to just have people buy an n900. poeple choose a blackstone because they want winmo/tf3d or whatever
i like to think it like this - if someone found a way to attach a coffee machine to a blackstone, id be interested, but given the time and effort required to get it to work (not to mention practical) i wouldnt be too fussed. anyone who wanted coffee machine functionality might have bought the wrong device
id say lets android working first then maybe work on other linux OSs would be easier
A couple of things:
By default Mer uses LXDE as its desktop but you can switch to Hildon (the n900 UI) using update-alternatives (Google it).
However Hildon uses Clutter which uses GL, and it all runs on Xorg, so unless there's a hardware 3D driver for Xorg for your device you're going to be out of luck I think (unless you like horribly slow and jerky UIs). Afaik there isn't an accellerated 3D Xorg driver for Raphael. Not certain but pretty sure.
Hello,
So I am curious, has anyone flashed/ceated a ROM that is basically the blackberry rom?
Thing is I am thinking about upgrading my phone and considering a blackberry just because my new job relies heavily on outlook thus it would be easier to be integrated on a blackberry.. So I really want to try out their OS before going out and upgrading b/c I might hate it. I dont think I can really just buy the phone and try it out for a few days so I had a quick thought; maybe someone had either like ported the Bb OS to android or made a similar rom?
Oh and before you hate up on me for wanting to leave the awesome-ness of android I must say I LOVE LOVE LOVE my g1 and am thinking it might be very hard to convert to Bb which is why I want to 'demo Bb out'. Android rules!!
thanks for your advice/help in advance..
anyone?
Is there a way to run the Blackberry OS on android ?? Has like anyone ported it or anything??

I am completely new to mint and linux. Can anyone help me with installing the latest version of wine? I Got the one from package manager but I want the dev one. I have NO clue how to install or do stuff on linux. Also my wifi is SLOW on linux vs win 7. Anyone know why? I have a reltek 8192CU.
Well, all these brilliant at home hackers have developed better operating systems than the scores of software engineers at Microsoft. Don't you realize taxi drivers and hairdressers are the only ones who really know what's going on??
Wtf are you talking about?
Just ranting, ignore my post.
Did I ask something wrong? So no help just a rant? I think I got the newest version of wine to install. 1.3.2 I think it was.
Hi everyone,
this is my first post in this board but I'm reading here since two years. I have a HTC Viva which gave me a lot of satisfaction, but recently I bought an Iphone 4 so I left Viva behind.
Now I decided to update it and I flashed a new cooked rom bringed on this board....but I'm interested to verify if some rumors read on the web that there will be an update for all win6.1/6.5 smartphone to win7 on July it's true, and in case....have our device enough power to run win7 without problems?
Thanks to all in advance. Rgds.
Where did you get that information? It would be excellent if it is true....
But there have also been rumors that win7 requires at least 1GHZ to run... So Opal is certainly not capable.
But if somehow Microsoft manages to upgrade that, i'll be yelling Hallelujah!
